I just wanted to add to the list of complaints about Non-Payment. I'm not a technician for Barrister, but my husband is. We own a computer store in the small town that we live in. My husband happened upon this company through Craig's List. He went and stayed in Hammond, LA for a week and went through training with no problems. He has worked for Barrister for about a year, and we have had no trouble. He calls from the job site, closes the call, gets the manager to sign off on all of his paperwork, and comes directly back to our store and faxes his rfs' in, and if there are any parts to be shipped back, I ship them that day or if it's one or two o'clock in the morning, I ship it the next day. No problems.
I can no longer say that we have had "No problems". My husband now has 17, yes that's right, 17 rfs' that Barrister is refusing to pay him on! They are using the same old, tired, and worn out line, "We never received your faxes." SSSoooo, we faxed them again. This went on for quite a few days. We faxed the same rfs' about 5 times! Now they are saying, "your 10 days are up. and we are not paying." SO, of course, we are now stuck in the process of having to PROVE that we did indeed fax all of these. (and numerous times) Now they are saying, "Well, you're not supposed to fax them. You're supposed to go to the website and email them in." That's a bunch of BS! If that's the case, then why have they paid us on all of the other jobs? And if they want the FT's to do that, then they need to get someone with half a brain to keep the website up and working properly!
It puzzles me as to why these people, sitting at their desks, can't find where ALL of these rfs' are going? I know we are not the only ones this is happening to. I mean, really? Are we gonna have to start driving to Hammond, LA to hand deliver these? I'm almost to that point!
My husband is a great tech! He has been called in to help at the Air Force base near us, the local college professors call him and ask him questions, and he just got a job with a VERY prestigious company here! (without putting in an application!) He is a very sought after tech in our area, and I'm so proud of him. We have 4 children, and this is money that my husband worked hard for and spent time away from his family for! Barrister is taking this money away from our children!
If it werent for the field technicians, Barrister wouldnt be in business! They should remember that!

I smell a class action law suit! Anyone feel like picketing in Hammond? I'll drive!

Just wanted to let everyone know, Barrister is making good on all of my husbands non-paid rfs'. Seems they've had some technical issues. Thanks for stepping up Barrister! My faith has been restored.

I used to be a barrister technician, in the begin they was paying me on time but all of a sudden, I went 3 whole months without getting paid. I called every single day about my payment they said they never received it. So I faxed and emailed it to them. They said that I will not be getting paid because I did not send my RFS's in or I didnt send a part back. Needless to say after about 2 weeks of me calling and sending nasty emails, I finally got my check and then a mass email went out from none other than Gerry stating that they will be cracking down on how many days you have to send your rfs in for payment. It seems to me that Barrister is still up to there same ways...I left Barrister a year ago, i did work before I left the company, they took me out of the system and stated that I deactivated my profile..I am still waiting on my $1500 bucks...I know you have it because you turned over a 15 million dollar profit, oh yea that was before you lost the HP project, wonder where your profit is now. freaking jerks u

Barrister is the most difficult company I have worked with in the IT biz. I was on hold for tech support to help with a Tatoo process, for over 1 hour! This was middle of biz day. I spoke with crs super who said she would try to help get me compensation for the extra hour. I wrote payroll 3 times and included her email so payroll would know that a super was involved while I was on-site.
The 3rd email from payroll explained that I needed to have contacted a super while onsite . I had done so, and had explained that in the first email to payroll.. Now payroll and the lady who said would help, both quite returning my emails! If I had other opportunities, I would not work for lowlife company.

I did everything by the books for Barrister and I never got paid either, its a good thing i didn't put much time in for these clowns, I have verified all paperwork with everyone and did all i needed to do and still didn't get paid.. So Bariister is full of crap if they are blaming technicians for not doing the right thing. Technicians need to start a class action suit and shut theses ###s down..

I have been scammed by Barrister, when I reconciled my account i had several non payments from them. They claimed they had not received my paperwork when in fact I had Faxed AND Emailed the paperwork. I have heard from other technicians this is very common with them. They refuse to pay claiming they have not received any paperwork.

kc_kool90: I am glad to hear you were able to connect with our accounting department and resolve any issues you and your husband were experiencing. Paying technicians promptly and correctly is a priority for our company. Payments are generally prepared approximately 21 days following the receipt of all documentation and information from technician closing the call. Technicians must call from site to close calls, return parts correctly and fax or scan the signed receipt for service. Once those simple steps are followed, payment is made to technicians. Barrister maintains an email address, payissues@barrister.com, which is monitored and answered daily. If a tech has a problem with payment, of any kind, he should email this address stating the work order number in question and a brief description of his issue. He will receive an answer within 5 business days.
