Brink's Global Services Security lights completely stop working

I brought 3 of the Brink's outdoor security lights, 2 in the white and 1 in the bronze. The one in the bronze completly stop working and the 2 in the white lens damaged quickly and the bulbs would completly stop working after just a few weeks. I'm at my wits end with these lights. I did research only to see I'm not the only one whose having problems with these lights. I took one of the lights back and had it installed... Low and behold the same thing... the bulb blew before the second week was out.

Brink's Global Services brinks 100w metal halide dusk to dawn activated security light

We purchased new at Walmart less than a year ago. It just quit working. We changed the eye on it. The bulb is fine but changed that too. Checked the wiring as well. We have no idea why it quit working but we have exhausted our options! Help would be great! This is the second one we've purchased in 1 year due to this problem. Next time I'll go with a different brand!

Brink's Global Services the brinks model 7011b

I am no sure this is the right place for my complaint. I bought 2 Brinks activated security outside lights, model 7011B . Bulb #7055 JCD 3400 lums, halogen. I bought them about 2 weeks ago at Wal-marts.

My problem is that the lights wouldn't keep a bulb lit for more then two hours, and then burn out. I now have gone through 5 bulbs I bought at wal- marts store.at a cost of about $4 or$ 5 each.

Is there a problem with this model light?
And what can I do about it.
I hope you could let me know what to do.
Thanking you in advance,
Andrew Vitti

Brink's Global Services 100w halide light model 7252

The lag bolts that come standard for installing the light assembly are very weak and 2 of them broke on install, which of course is frustrating because I now have to go to the hardware store tomorrow and buy some better ones. This light is for a night basketball court for my sons in the driveway and tonight's game was cancelled due to ----NO LIGHT! By the way, I am a professional mechanic and I deal with proper torque everyday, I wasn't using power tools, I was using a 3/8" ratchet and a mini 10mm wrench. Ridiculous... The light wasn't cheap, why is the mounting hardware subpar?

Brink's Global Services motion activated security light 7120w

Was working fine in two weeks - until we got a rain storm. Now it's lighting all the time, and we have disconnected it for security reasons. I was reading another complain with same issue - this guy disconnected the motion sensor and found water inside, which was the issue. Seems like this product is NOT waterproof and safe for outdoors use. It's dangerous, and the product should be recalled!

Brink's Global Services goes on and off all night

I bought this product 2 weeks ago. It worked great until this week, when the motion detector keeps going on about every 4 minutes, then shuts off. This goes on all night until I switch it off completely. I thought it might be the replacement bulb I had put in it, but it still does it without the bulb. Is this motion sensor defective?

Brink's Global Services Avoiding for money owed

Brink's Inc. lost one million dollars worth of merchandise bound for the Las Vegas Antique and Jewelry Show, which took place at the end of May and Beginning of June 2012. By the time they recovered our merchandise, the show was over. Basically, they cost us tens of thousands of dollars. Jill Benedetti, the Vice President of the Jewelry Show division, promised reimbursement for our show expenses (booth, display, plane tickets, hotel, Brinks shipping costs). We did not even begin to attempt to recover the potential lost income. She asked for an itemized list of our show expenses, which we provided, and then she disappeared. We have attempted several calls, to which she no longer answers. I would just like to warn any jewelery dealer or any others using transportation services to avoid this irresponsible company at all costs. If the vice president of a division of a huge logistics company is morally reprehensible enough to pull something like this, I cannot even imagine what the corporate values are.

Brink's Global Services doesn't last long

We purchased a Brinks security light on Dec 4th, 2010. We did not keep the box which I do regret now. The light went out on March 20, 2011. It had the new bulb in it that is suppose to last for years and so energy efficient. Now I can't find out how to contact the company for warranty on the light. It has a one year and only lasted 3 months. We have purchased Brinks lighting for the last 4 yrs. Every time they last less time. This last one took the cake though. I am very unhappy with this product.

The motions sensor light is very nice, but we have some questions. The instruction booklet was not in the box. Most of the installation can be done, but there are some buttons on the light we can"t figure. It would be most helpful if you could mail us the instruction book. Thank you.

I have set the length if time for the light to stay on if motion is detected to 10 minutes. The problem is that or doesn't even stay on for one minute. How do I fix this. Yes, I double checked the switch.

RE: Brink Security

Subject: calls relentlessly, no message

I keep getting phone calls to my cell number from [protected]. I did some research and found it was from Brinks Home Security. I called and told them to stop calling me. They call, do not leave a message and I am tired of this. I do not own the residence I am living in, I am planning on moving and do not like my cell minutes being wasted by unsolicited companies. I've already told them to stop calling, but it still continues. My land line is on the federal do not call list, and have not received calls from them.

Can something be done to put an end to this?

Thank you,

Brink's Global Services Faulty electrical and photocell

Purchased brinks dust-dawn light model 7252 from walmart and had it installed by a licensed electrician. The light began to emit smoke from its top and giving off a smell of electrical burning after several months. The fire department was called and the light was removed. Brinks company was notified and had no explanation for this problem. Brinks did oblidge to send me another light fixture of the same exact model. Several months later this problem re-occurred with the replacement lamp. It is recommended that this light use a 100w halide bulb.

I purchased a Brinks 7252 approximately eight months ago at Walmart. Light worked good till about a month ago when the (10000 hour) bulb went out. It has taken me a month to find a new bulb. I put the new $25.00 bulb in yesterday and waited through the night to see if it would come, which it did not. I checked the power to make sure that there was not a blown fuse and it was determined that there is power going to the light. I am very Unsatisfied with this light system. What do I do now?

My light is orange and not bright led like advertised. What happens of the photocell goes out of if the ground is wrong. Or does it need the solar sensor during the day to charge. We set up and installed at night. It has not seen sunlight yet.

I purchased 4 of these lights. 3 have failed. 2 had the photo cell go bad within a short period. 3 had the bulb go bad within a few days. Only 2 of the four are now working with the use of a 40 watt light bulb costing me 25 cents each. The original light bulb lasted about 1 week when they were susposed to last up TO 10, 000 HOURS.

Brink's Global Services false & misleading sales

I asked for a security quote from Broadview. The salesman never told me that they were owned by ADT and also never told me that they owned my security system even after it was installed in my home. He also tried to charge me extra to purchase a warranty on THEIR security system. Very disappointed with their lack of honesty and the deceptive sales practices. If I knew they were just another ADT company, I wouldn't have asked for a quote.

ADT doesn't own Broadview. Tyco which is the company that owns ADT is trying to buy Broadview Home Security. Who knows if the SEC and shareholders will really let this happen. At any rate, your experience was more about an unhonest salesperson rather than an unhonest company. You could talk to the Authorized Dealer that sold you. Their name should be on the top of the "Installation Agreement" form that you should have gotten. Hope this helps.

The ADT transition hasn't fully taken place yet and everything is kind of in limbo. I can say this as a former Broadview / Brinks employee who is now actually employed at the real ADT. Broadview employees are working buisness as usual until everything happens, which is expected to be sometime in the third quarter.

Brinks systems were always sold as a lease. If you wanted to actually own the equipment, you had to pay extra. But the truth of the matter is, the systems contain proprietary programming that render the control panels useless for other companies to take over. As such you are best to just keep it as a lease anyways as if you end up moving, you would be unlikely to take the hardware with you.

Brink's Global Services poor service and would not release from contract

After eight years as a customer, we had enough of problems with our Brinks (now Broadview) Home Security system and decided to move to ADT. Amazingly, we were told that they had been auto-renewing our contract every year, and that we were responsible for eight more months of service!

After being a loyal customer for this long, it is disgraceful that the "customer loyalty" department at the Irving, Texas headquarters of this company would tell us what they really think of their customer base.

Disgraceful company. I would never deal with them again.

I signed a 3 year contract with Brinks in December 2005 it ended in 2008. They automatically renew your contract for another year. You need to let them know, if not you are stuck. It became Broadview Security, and then it was bought out by ADT. I have called many times, but received different answers. The first time I called, they told me that I would have to pay them until August 2011, which I was fine with that. The last called I made, they said that I can cancel services, but I am stuck with the contract that I signed in 2005, until DECEMBER 2011. In other words, I will be paying them for nothing. I understand that I was in a contract but that contract was signed in 2005 with brinks. I was worried about getting burglarized, but BRINKS/BRoadview/ADT are the REAL CROOKS. ...This system is so outdated that a burglar all has to do is cut the phone line and all is left is bells and whistles. So unfair and I wouldn’t’ be surprised if this is legal. But because it is legal it does not make it right. I can’t believe that automatic ONE year contracts are acceptable in this country. They should be illegal! I have fulfilled my 3 year contract in 2008……

Broadview's monitoring service requires connection to landline phone service. Since moving to this house we have tried Time Warner Cable and AT&T landline phone service, and in both cases the phone line repeatedly went dead for extended periods of time, with NO WARNING FROM BROADVIEW. In other words, Broadview's system failed to notify us that our house was not being monitored! Due to the phone line problems we were forced to switch to Vonage. Once informed that Broadview is not compatible with Vonage, we switched alarm companies but Broadview is still billing us for the remainder of our contract.

Broadview will receive no further payment from me. I was a loyal customer of theirs for many years and when I needed them the most -- WHEN MY PHONE LINE WENT DEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN -- their alarm system uttered not a single beep. If my phone line had been cut by a burglar I would have been robbed blind! When my landline phone stopped working for the 7th time I switched to Vonage.

This company has received thousands of dollars in fees from me over 8 years. I was such a loyal customer that when I moved I continued their service. However, when my landline phone stopped working not once, not twice, but MANY times at my new house, Brinks/Broadview FAILED TO WARN ME of this in every instance. Furthermore, after I was forced to switch to Vonage in order to have a working landline phone, Brinks/Broadview INSISTED that I continue paying monitoring fees despite the simple fact that their company was unable to keep up with technology that has been around for several years.

I agree with your complaint 100%. Broadview is a terrible company in my opinion. I kept my contract with Brinks/Broadview for 5 years and after cancelling, according to the terms of my agreement, supposedly owing nothing, they claim their's a $500 equipment fee. This is nonsense. I was told I owned the equipment and there were no cancellation fees whatsoever after I fulfilled my three year agreement. They won't get a penny and I too will forward a statement of my experiences to local and National news franchises.

Here is a letter I wrote to management:

My Alarm was not registering when the back door opened as of this afternoon. To our dismay, we called and requested an emergency technician to come out and EVERY single person we spoke with denied our request. They said that the alarm still works (even though the back door alarm did not). I explained to them that we live in a high crime neighborhood and we have a 5 month old child who's room is right next to the back door. The customer service representatives said to just arm the motion sensor - I explained that someone could still walk in the house and get to our childs room without our motion detector getting triggered. After speaking to 4 different managers, they repeatedly refused my request for immediate service. It was then at the point where I offered to FULLY pay for the technician to come out immediately. For some reason, Every single manager said they were not able to do that because more than 50% of the alarm system still was functioning. I repeadtely asked why they could not dispatch a technician if I were to pay for it - All they did was continue to restate the 50 percent policy as if I was talking to a machine. The last Supervisor was extremeny arrogant, rude, and flippant when I explained to her my childs situation and that he could easily be accessed without the alarm being triggered.
We are now in a Hotel paying $256 per night because of your lack of service. I am extremely dissapointed with your company and how you handled this situation. It is one thing to be carefull before dispatching technicians at all hours of the day-I get that completely. When I offer to pay the technicians fee to give my wife and I piece of mind throughout the night, that is ABSOLUTELY ludicrous!
Again, I am extremely dissapointed in your company and your customer service representatives. For this Reason, I would like to Cancel both my Business account and Personal Accounts Immediately. I will be installing an ADT System first thing Monday. I have spoken to several friends and family members who have children and are your customers. Needless to say, you will be losing substantially more customers than just me. If this goes unresoved for the rest of the weekend I will be forced to send this E-Mail to ALL local and National news franchises who would be eager to pick this story up.
I will give you until Sunday evening to make this right.

I called to cancel my contract at the three year mark because I felt $35/month was on the high side. They offered me a better deal. $19.99/month for 1 year with $10 off the first 4 months. For the last 4 months they have been withdrawing $35 and $20 each month, not the $10 as stated in my written contract. After countless phone calls, 2 letters with copys of my contract, and one fax, I have gotten no where. I did learn that their fax takes up to 48 hours to process. After waiting two days, I called Rodger back. He was off that day, but the young girl explained that they ment 48 business hours before they get a fax. Nice to know the US mail is faster than Broadview's Fax Machaine. The fraud dept with my bank is now working with them.

I changed from one VOIP service to another. The contract states that to notify them if I change providers. Well, I did. They are not compatible and want to sell me $300 worth of equipment so the system will work again. They do not put out a list of VOIP providers they are not compatible with. How are we suppose to know until it is too late? Now I have a system that is crap.

Per their request I sent them a letter to cancel my service. Broadview never canceled the account now I'm getting letters from a debt collector. I called the customer service office and was sent to voice mail. it's been 2 days of me calling and trying to speak with Donna Green at Broadview and she hasn't returned one of my calls. Do not use this company!

Just like everyone else that has posted a complaint, I too, have been a long-time customer. It wasn't until I needed someone to come out to reattach the window sensors (we had new windows installed) that I discovered the lack of customer care. Five phone calls and 2 emails later, I also thought I could cancel and move on but got the same canned response as everyone else- there is an automatic annual renewal. My list of complaints is too long to post so just please take all of our words for it and NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY!

Brink's Global Services I still owe after canceled service - 22 false alarms

I signed up with my new home purchase and agreed to prepay one year & pay $99 activation fee. Shortly there after I was in Europe on business and recieved a call that my front door alarm was going off, resetting and going off again. Came home a week later to find 5 notes from police and a fine for false alarms. Repair man came out and spent 4 hours going over system. Worked for one week straight, then the same false alarm. Another day off work to wait on repair man. Two more hours and system deemed fixed after puting all new sensors in. Flash forward a few month of no issues till my next business trip in Chicago. Same MO, front door alarm going off and resetting. Come home with fine from Police and form letter stating that the Police has put a DNR (do not respond) on my address. I call my friends at Brinks to complain and tell them to cancel my service immediately...this is June 2007. After that I never set the alarm again. Now I recieved a call from a collections agency saying I owe them $335 on my contract. I am shocked as you might imagine. I call their customer service, get run around, and am told there is no-one in the company that will talk to me about the matter...but I can write a letter. Even after I expalined I do not recall signing a three year contartct and even if I did I should have the right to cancel as the service was awful. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! I am still in denial about how this is going to play out but I am certain I will be out some money...

Brink's Global Services 6yrs customer - responsible for 3mths of charge even after canceling

I have been a Brinks customer for 6 years. I called to cancel the service a while ago but they kept sending balance due notices. I called again to cancel and the guy talked me into signing a contract for $180 a year and issued a "Credit" for the earlier balance due. After I received the contract, I decided not to pursue it as it was still expensive for me for the level of service I was receving. I called to inform them that I will not be signing the contract and to cancel all the services. The lady was really nice when she was still trying to sell me the contract. But when I insisted on canceling, she put the earlier balance due (that was "Credit"ed by the other guy) back on my account. I kept saying that I called earlier to cancel but she wouldnt listen because I am no longer a contract. They dont have a "record" me calling them to cancel. Is that my fault?

In summary Horrible customer service. If you treat a customer of yours for six years (paying every month like clock work) like this - not sure how you will survive in this down economy. I am for sure going to tell everyone I know and all the websites I can complain on.

To my understanding, the credit on the account was given in lue of the new contract. But upon declining the new contract, technically in my view, that cancels the credit issued.

Your best bet, would be to call them back, and ask to speak with a Manager.

Brink's Global Services durability of product

I bought 2 outdoor fluorescent security lights for my home at one time. Neither of them are working now. They quit working about 3 weeks apart. They cost about $50 each, and an electrician put them both up. There is supposed to be a warranty for them. It appears that the either the circuit board or sensor on either or both of them is out. What do I need to do to get help?

I bought one of your motion activated security lights.I have bought 7 or so bulbs in about 3 months and they were out for a month and a half because i didnt want to buy anymore bulbs. Finally bought 2 more the other day just to see if i followed your instructions completely and 1 lasted 2 days the other is still going(its been approximately 1 week)so far. Why would these lights do this?I am about to take this one down as soon as it blows another bulb and i will be looking into different brands. After spending around 50.00 on the light then 7 or 8 bucks a piece on the bulbs and then them only lasting sometimes a day or so it gets real costly.
