Free Credit Report Unauthorized charges to my credit card

I signed up for an annual free credit report and they charged me $14.95 for two month for a subscription that I didn't even know that I had because I failed to cancel the service within 7 days. They only could credit my account for the last $14.95 charge.
It is ironic that this company is supposed to be helping people with their credit while they are stealing from them without their knowledge.

DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES AND FRAUD: www.FreeCreditReport.com, associated with or owned by Experian credit reporting agency. Use https://www.annualcreditreport.com instead for the reasons below: FreeCreditReport.com, which advertises broadly on the cable channels, does not give you anything free. They use deception and trick you into giving them your credit card number for identity verification and then automatically signing you up for buying their (questionable) services at about $17.00 per month. It is very hard to get the credit card companies to reverse the charges because Experian has them by the balls. How do you think they pay for all of that sickening, ridiculous and nauseous advertising? These liars, cheats and thieves are tracking, judging and reporting your credit history.

In May 2007, I went to the Experian website to request a free credit report. Annually, each American is entitled to 3 free credit reports from the three main credit bureaus, Experian, Equifax , and TransUnion. Apparently what happen through the request exchange is that Freecreditreport.com interceded somehow and captured my credit card information. The web page that requested the credit card information was cleverly manipulated into the free credit report request process. As I recall, the request for my credit card information was described as further due diggilence to ascertain my identity. Shortly thereafter, I received my credit card statement that showed a $12.95 charge. After calling the credit card company and being referred back to freecreditreport.com to manage the dispute, I have learned more about how this scam works. By the way, the 12.95 CIC Triple Advantage charge is not a one time charge but rather an ongoing membership that auto bills your credit card number.

Things to do:

1. Call Freecreditreport.com and cancel your membership and request a credit be issued to the card company. Make sure the credit covers current and future billings.

2. Request a membership cancellation number from Freecreditreport.com.

3. Contact the 'Disputes Resolution' department with your card issuer and insure that your dispute is noted in your file. Write a letter too and reference the membership cancellation.

4. Request that your card issuer refuses any further charges from Freecreditreport.com to your account.

5. Continue to monitor your statements for fraudulent charges.

6. Write a letter addressed to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion notifying them of the use of their website by Freecreditreport.com.

7. Reference the Complaints Board in all communications with the card issuer and Freecreditreport.com

I have requested free credit reports from the major bureaus in the past and have never encountered this type of negative, ethical behavior.

1. I went on experian.com and from what I understood, purchased a copy of my credit report.

2. Therefore I was appalled to receive an email stating that I had apparently enrolled in something called "freecreditreport.com" since I had NEVER gone on that website. I went on Experian.com and purchased a copy of my credit report. Period.

3. Whatever freecreditreport.com did to fraudulently enroll me in their company's program is blatantly illegal and unethical. They should be ashamed of themselves for pulling this.

4. It is unacceptable to do this to consumers.

It is very clear that freecreditreport.com is membership deal. Even their tv ads say "With enrollment in Triple Advantage"

It says THIS right on the FRONT PAGE.. not even tiny writing. Prominent placement on the left side:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership.
ConsumerInfo.com, Inc. and Freecreditreport.com are not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies. To request your free annual report under that law, you must go to www.annualcreditreport.com.

Free Credit Report Double charges

Lookout for this company! FREE CREDIT REPORT IS NOT FREE. Their website states get your free credit report, but in small writing it says you will be charged only 14.95 if not cancelled within 7 days. That's 14.95 per month until you cancel. No where does it say this is only for 1 credit report company. It says Triple, which means all 3 credit reporting agencies. A week later, I forgot to cancel so I was charged 14.95. Which was my fault. I looked on my credit card and I also was charge an additional 24.95 a week later. I called and cancelled the "membership" and demanded a refund on the 24.95 charge. The woman told me that it was for getting all 3 credit agency reports. I told her this was false advertising and she talked to her supervisor and they assured me I would get a refund of the additional 24.95. I still have not gotten the credit and am filing a report with the consumer protection agency in Wisconsin. DO NOT GO TO THIS WEBSITE, THEY ARE A RIPOFF!

Free credit report is not free. . . They have been charging my credit card for months at the rate of 14. 95. They are listed on my credit card bill as cic*triple advantage (Should be listed as "take advantage!" when i call their number [protected], in ca) the first option after the introduction is "if you would like to cancel press #1. " i guess that should tell us that it is a scam and they are doing it to everyone!

Early in 2009 I requested a one time only free credit report through this website. It has repeatedly charged me since that time over $30.00 a month on my card. I have attempted to have it stopped through my credit card but they say I must go through this process. How and when can I get this removed and the money credited back to my account?

I do not want access to free credit report.com at a not so free cost of $14.95. I'm not sure when all this started or why, but I've gone back 4 months and the $14.95 charge is there. Please cancel and respond as soon as possible.

Free Credit Report Fraud

On august 18th, 2009, i was seeking out a way to obtain a free copy of my credit report and credit score. I googled "free credit reports" and many sites were available. One of the sites i clicked on was free credit report 360. I filled out the information requested of me, such as name, address, and so on. . . , then click "continue". The next page i came to was a page asking for my credit / debit card information, which i filled out because there was a free trial offer for my credit health, however, my card would not be charged for 7 days, but i had to cancel the free trial offer prior to the 7th day. There was also a warning telling me that my credit card information would not be used at that time, but was required to establish my account. I was a bit leary about giving my credit card information, so i did a "print screen" and pasted a copy of that screen with it's warning (Thank god) to ms paint. I hadn't given any authorization to use my card info. Yet. The next screen i came to gave me an membership number and then gave me the option to "continue" so i could receive a copy of my credit report (This page i printed) . Before i clicked on "continue" i thought i should perhaps check out a couple of other sites before proceeding. While doing so i came to annualcreditreport.com which offered me access to all three major credit reporting agencies with no free trials, or possible charges to my credit card. There wasn't even any requests for my credit card information. Since i chose to go this route, i closed out the previous window to free credit report 360, and contiued with the other site and received free copies of my credit report from all three major agencies. Ten days later i received a nsf card in the mail from my bank. Stunded with disbelief, i quickly pulled up my bank account online only to find that my credit health had taken $29. 95 out of my account without my authorization. . . As i stated before, i didn't even continue with that first website, i closed it, however, i didn't delete my credit card information prior to doing so. I just assumed by "x - ing" out of the site, my personal information would automatically be deleted. Boy was i wrong! Not only was i charged $29. 95 to my account, it happened to be that time of the month when my account was low, so i ended up with $179 in overdraft fees. Since then i have found many websites accusing free credit report 360 and my credit health of scamming many people such as myself. Don't be scammed by either of these companies. For those of you who don't know. . . You can obtain a free copy of your credit report from all three major credit reporting agencies once a year.

Basically my husband and I canceled our CIC Triple Advantage membership within 3 days of opening the account, but magically the company has no record of us canceling the account. They charged us 2 separate times for both my husband and myself, once set was on 11/28/07 and the other set of withdrawals were on 12/4/07. After speaking to an "Alex" on the phone, she agreed to refund ONE charge for my husband (the monthly fee) and one for myself, but wouldn't refund the 2nd set of charges. As a result of the withdrawals that should not have occurred, our bank was sent into an overdraft and we had 4 separate fees of $32.00 each charge (2 for my husband and 2 for myself). They said they could only refund up to $25.00 (the first 2 monthly charges, one for my husband and one for myself) and to receive the rest of the charges.

I have asked for the charges on my checking account to be stopped several times, and again this month the $14.95 was deducted. What in Gods wide earth do I have to do to get this started. They used to post a phone number, but not any more, at least not that I have found. Do you have an answer. I have given them all the information they need, SSN, and whatever they needed to get it stopped, and to no avail. Can you help at all?

Today at 6:05 p.m. I spoke with customer service rep. Pauline Colleen about this matter and she stated this fee will be taken off my account in the next 5 to 10 days. I will wait 10 days for removal of this charge before checking with discover to pay my account.

I was attempting to get financial assistance for a house down payment. I went through Credit360 and was told my FICO credit score was 601. This was alleged to be from the same 2 companies I have on credit Karma that show at 672. When I called the number to cancel my so-called subscription, I was told the 70 point discrepancy was on credit karma's side as a ways to entice me to buy their products. Shortly after this; I was contacted by a credit repair company with some very professional sounding persons who almost had me believing their lovely line of patter until I was told they needed my SS number. I declined to provide same and requested they email me information about their company and its services. I haven't heard back since. Credit360 appears to be the tip of the iceberg for a large conglomerate of shady companies out to bilk an unsuspecting public of their hard earned funds. Spread the word people. We the people are the front line against this kind of dishonesty.

Free Credit Report Charges for services not oredered

It's apparent that Experian does not comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I attempted to order my annual free credit report. Access to free credit reports online are seamless & transparent for Equifax and Transunion. Not so for Experian. Not only is it difficult (read impossible) to simply access your report without jumping through a series of endless hoops, they appear to be running an online scam as well. This month, after attempting to get my free credit report from Experian, my credit card was charged for three subscriptions for credit monitoring by "CIC Triple Advantage." When I called to dispute these charges, I learned that CIC Triple advantage is a "Experian Consumer Direct" company! My, my, my. Not only does Experian not comply with the Free Credit Reporting Act, but they also scam the consumers.

I'm writing every regulatory agency I know plus the congressional oversight committee to put a stop to these crooks.

Maybe I'm wrong but my understanding of freecreditreport.com is that they give you your credit report for free. By getting this free credit report, you enroll in a credit monitoring service (which is why their tv commercials say "Offer applies with enrollment in Triple Advantage"). My thought is that what you've been charged for is the credit monitoring from all three credit bureaus, so that you're alerted when your credit reports are modified. Again, I believe that you, in fact, have not been charged for your credit report itself, but for the credit monitoring. Just contact freecreditreport.com and cancel your memberships if you haven't done so already.

Free Credit Report Charge on credit card

I went online and paid $1.00 for a 7 day trial membership so that I could get my 3 in 1 credit report. I got my report threw Credit Adapter. I also cancelled the membership before the 7 day period was up and printed the cancellation page out and also had a cancellation email sent to me as a secondary measure to ensure I had proof of this. Two days after the 7 day trial would have been over I saw a charge of $14.95 from my bank. I immediately called and spoke to someone who said that they were with Free Credit Report.Com I got my credit report through them. I explained that no my credit report came through Credit Adapter and this guy continued to badger me saying that I pulled my credit report on 6-7-2009 and that it was through free credit report or experian and it cost 14.95 and it was non refundable. I then went on to say that I was online looking over this site that was showing other peoples stories ablout this same company was scamming them and charging others 15.00 and they were not authorized to. I started reading off the dates of peoples reports of the scams and I told him that I wanted my money back on my card immediately and he got very angry and said that it would be back on my card in 10 days.

Free Credit Report monthly charge for Free report

Back in November I came across a web site touting "Free Credit Reports"; inasmuch as MD has a 'one free credit report per year' law, I clicked on and ordered my "free" report. Well, I not only received my report with an excellent score, but my credit card statement also showed the first of monthly charges of $12.00. Hey, I did not sign up for an annual and ongoing contract. Those thieves got my credit card and scammed me into a monthly fee. While I got the following charges stopped, they never refunded the ill gotten first month fee. BEWARE of free or sample products, they all seem to have larceny at heart and sock you with ongoing charges and/or future shipments. Apparently the thieves at CIC Triple advantage have no connection to any of the 3cmajor credit reporting bureaus.
The old adage holds true more than ever: there is no free lunch !
I have taken my complaint to the MD Consumer Protection Bureau, but they are swamped with similar complaints.

What the website clearly says and what they doa re two different things entirely! I did read the fine print and canceled by phone 12 hours later. AFTER receiving two emails from them acknowledging my cancellation, I was billed $24.95 (not the advertised $14.95) and they refuse to respond to inquiries.

We just need to continue getting the word out that they are fraudulent, hurt their business and maybe they will listen.

The website clearly says:

"When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership"

All you have to do is cancel within that 7 day period and you won't be charged. Yeah, they'll take your credit card number right off the bat in case you don't cancel, but they don't charge you if you cancel in time. I do this once a year and have never once had an issue with them.

The reason credit card companies won't refund your money is because freecreditreport.com is the opposite of deceptive and fraudulent; their terms are shown on the main page.

Free Credit Report Unauthorized Charges to bank account

I went to the Free Credit Report.com web site for a FREE credit report but have been charged $14.95 to my account since Nov. 2008. I have called CIC TripleAdvantage to receive a refund but they refuse and claim that I have signed off on a disclosure.

It appears that this additional charge each month was not properly disclosed or made apparent. I have never even received the credit report that was promised by their service.

I feel that this service is a scam and would like a refund of the service in the amount of $104.65 (7 months x $14.95).

I have called CIC TripleAdvantage to cancel the account. I have also called my bank to stop authorizing and charges from CIC TripleAdvantage.

Free Credit Report cancelled subscription but they kept me on anyway

I had subscribed to freecreditreport.com. I know after 7 days you will be charged $14.95 per month. After 12 days I cancelled cause you know time flies and you forget to do things. So anyway, I called to CANCEL my subscription. The man asked me why and I told him "I don't want to pay $14.95 EVERY month." I don't make alot as it is. He said ok we will cancel your subscription you will get an e-mail within the next 24hrs. So the time passed by and I recieved my cancellation notice. Then I recieved an e-mail "Thank you for continuing membership" Wait a minute, I just cancelled it. So I called back and that man said the man I talked to the first time did NOT cancel me. He took off 1 month of $14.95. NEVER AGAIN will I EVER get another credit report especially being a first timer and not knowing what to expect.
THANKS FREEEEEEEE CREDIT REPORT! NOT!

I was charged for a website that kept popping up when I was checking for loans and I tried to cancel. I thought I had cancelled the site until, I found out I had been billed for a service that I do not want.

Free Credit Report freecreditreport.com

Dear all

These people are bunch of crooks. They show free credit score, 30 days free trial credit score and then collect your credit card. When you want to cancel within 30 days they have already charged your card. They will then claim you have agreed to terms and conditions which says you have agreed to get your card charged after 9 days.

The accopunt created also is vague and you can not login again with same user and password. I never was successful to login second time. They are stealing my money as once you read on the top with large font that this is 30 days free trial period, how can they cahrge my card then before 30 days trial period. This is fradulant, unfair trade practices. I alert every one not to do be enticed by them and please blog them in Internet so that they go out of business

scam, they keep stealing money from our bank account, and we did not authorize them to do so. Then when we tried to call and have them cancel our account they tried to make us keep it by saying they update our credit report, and that there were changes made and they were giving us a hard time after we repeatedly asked them to cancel it...!

I was just going over my bank statements and noticed that for the last 4 months I have been getting charged 12.00/month for something I have, no clue what it is. It just shows on my bank statement CIC Triple Advantage. I don't not want this product/service, I want the money to be stopped from being taken out of my account, and I want my money back. $48.00 to be exact. Thank you and I will be contacting my bank.

I used a search engine in order to order a copy of my free credit report over three months ago. After receiving the report instantly online I assumed I would no longer need or have any dealings with the company, that was not the case. Months later I am still being charged monthly fees for services that I never received or requested. Because I only use this account to pay bills I have also been charged overdraft fees due to insufficient funds. If anyone knows how to correct this issue, please let me know.

Free Credit Report No easy way to cancel subscription

Freecreditreport.com advertise on the TV about availing the free credit report. True, it's easy to get one--but why do they make it so hard to cancel your membership. They give you 9-days to check out your credit report, and after that you start paying subscription charges. While it's easy to register online and check out your credit report--you can do everything online--you can't cancel your subscription immediately online after checking your credit report. For that--you have to call in to a number and talk to a rep. Why not give the consumer the ability to cancel online immediately? Calling in to a number and all just ends up with several consumers not able to to cancel it and getting charged unnecessarily.

I had went onto this freecreditreport.com with the idea that it did not cost me anything. I thought I had read that if I want t keep it after so many days that they would be charging me for the upkeep. I just now thought that I was canceling the upkeep and found out from my bank institution that they were trying to take $24.95 out of my account, and that it was pending which would be charged probably this evening.

Thank you,

I went to this website for a "free" credit report, I wonder why I thought I could get a "free" credit report at FREEcreditreport.com lol Anyways to see the actual credit score I had to enter my credit card info and pay a small fee. when I completed this transaction apparently a the fine print stated that if I did not call and cancel I would be automatically signed up for membership witha monthly fee of $14.95, which I didnt notice for several months. It seems that if there is any other charge for what you originally are signing up for that there should be a fail safe check-box, not sneaky little fine print. Are there any laws regulating this? I called them today and was canceled and refunded only one month dues.

Not so Free Credit Report charged my account $21.90 for a C/R from 1 credit reporting agency, not all 3 like they claim.

I called to cancel my account and the operator refused. She said that I agreed to pay according to their Terms and Conditions. When I told her that "Nowhere in the Terms and Conditions does it state that they are authorized to charge me $21.90". She quickly said she would give me my money back... in 7-10 days.

Get the "Approval Code" for your bank to get your money faster. This might require a 3 way call with your bank... but it can be done!

TOTAL SCAM! This company charged my credit card (unauthorized) three times in three days. They had the nerve to obtain my checking account number and charged me another $14.95. That is four charges in less than seven days. I cannot get through to anyone via phone and have had to cancel my credit card and establish a new savings account. THEY ARE TOTALLY BOGUS!

I requested my free annual credit report from the web site freecreditreport.com. I had to enter a credit card number to receive my 'free' credit report. This month I noticed a charge of $14.95 on my credit card bill. I inquired and learned that I was automatically entered into a subscription service and that I had to take action myself to cancel the service and that I had to do it with 7 days. I did not request nor did I order this service. This is a SCAM and a FRUAD in taking advantage of the free credit report offere. I cannot believe freecreditreport.com is allowed to continue to take peoples monies. What is going on?

I cannot get back my $14.95. What recourse do I have? Who are these people?

I went to freecreditreport.com to see my supposedly free credit report. Before I could even get close to my "free" report I had to enroll, with my credit card for a $14.95 a month service. Before I went further I found the number to cancel the service, intending to get the information and cancel a service I don't want. I got my report, then called to cancel.

That's when the hell started. I called and requested cancellation, they want to know why, which I explained. Then they push the service, I declined. They push an alternative service, I declined and asked to just cancel, please. Then they pushed another service and variations on all the others, shorter terms, blah, blah, blah. I just kept saying no, and she kept asking why I wouldn't want this "protection." At no time did she say my service was cancelled. She harrassed me until I was in tears. I begged her to just cancel my service, I don't want it, and it doesn't say anywhere on the ads with the cute kid that free means you have to buy something.

She told me I didn't have to get *angry* (angry? how is crying from harrasment anger?)and finally said she would process my cancellation. I did get an email confirming my cancellation.

These people are parasites. The rules say we are entitled to a free credit report, so they use it for an opportunity to do legal "phishing."

t’s not free. But that’s not the issue, I never expect that. The issue is apparently this company manipulates the data they provide in an attempt to keep someone using their services longer than might be necessary then if you terminate their services, they attempt to scare you into returning.

I was fixing my credit and decided to use them to have 24/7 access to my reports and get immediate information about things I was fixing and satisfying. I felt this was a good option to monitor my credit through the home loan approval for me then built so I needed to monitor my credit longer. Getting close to closing, knowing where my credit was and that I was on track, I cancelled my services with freecreditreport.com. That’s when I learned about their underhanded business practices.

I was forced to listen to several minutes of an operating trying to talk me out of my decision. The final carrot was that suddenly the service could be available for a fraction of what they charge. Why don’t they just offer a fair price and be done with it? I stood firm and cancelled. Then, within ten (10) days of cancelling (while I was finishing out the last two weeks of the current billing month), I get my final monthly status E-mail telling me my credit score dropped. I go through the links on the E-mail and it is now showing my short has dropped to below what I need for my final approval on my mortgage. I, as you can expect freaked out and immediately made a phone call to my realtor because I had to fix this problem.

After talking me down from the wall, my agent checked with my lender and they independently ran my credit to see what was going on. The fact I’m suddenly told my credit score dropped drastically was illogical under the circumstances since everything I had done was positive and it was impossible it could have dropped.

Well, not only had my credit score not dropped but it was a full 60 points higher than the freecreditreport.com was claiming. Not only that but after reviewing all the E-mails from freecreditreport.com and comparing it against what my lender pulled, my credit score was consistently 20 to 40 points higher than anything freecreditreport.com was telling me it was including where I really was when I started and where freecreditreport.com was telling me I was.

Since this occurred over an eight month period of time, I do not think it is a mistake on anyone’s part that freecreditreport.com was deliberately giving me information that my credit score was lower than it was so I would continue believing I needed to monitor it but that they also want people to have something happen that scares then into returning. They want them to get that report telling them all their hard work was for nothing so they think “OMG, I have to keep monitoring my credit because something bad happened.”

Stay away from this company.

Freecreditreport.com is nothing but a scam. They advertise a free credit report. but that is os not the issue with this company. they made an unauthorized charge to my credit card for credit reports that i have never even seen. When i called to get a refund they told me i had to fax a letter to the ther Customer Relations. What company makes you fax a letter for a refund. When i asked to Talk with someone to get a refund i found out there is not such person available ( how convient). My husband canceled his account twice with freecreditreport.com. The first cancellation did not go through which resulted in overdraft fees to our account. He cancelled a second time. The representative assured my husband the service has been canceled. He went on the website to make sure it had been canceled. Two days later, there was a charge on our account for $26.51. He called again and they stated when he went on he had ordered the 3 reports. There is no way he ordered that product. He spoke with Violet and when he told her that transaction wasn't authorized and therefore is fraudalent, she said "File a police report." Needless to say, we received no refund, were told to fax a letter, and to file a police report.

Free Credit Report paying for services not ordered

I went to Free Credit Report last year and around the same time signed up for a help insurance program. I saw the $12.00a bill on my card and i thought it was for a health isnurance premimum I had applied for. Well today I saw that the payment had gone up to $12.95 this month and I called to find out why. Imaging my surprise to find out that it was a credit reporting firm and not the insurance i thought it was. Oh Hell No, I cancelled this today and will also alert my credit card co.
I did not sign up for this and I have been paying for it over a year. This is so not right, this is a company supposed give me a "FREE report", not rip me off . I am so upset at my own studipidity for not cheacking sooner.

Free Credit Report Sneaky membership

We accidentally signed up for this thing! I was trying to check our credit score before purchasing a newer car. I never had any intention of signing up for this and thought that I had clicked out of all the "accept" window. To make a long story short, we called and were told we could cancel, they would only reimburse us for one month and got told too bad. I did some more research the next day, called my bank, who cancelled my debit card and began the dispute process, filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (1-877-ftc-help) and got a complaint number. I found some different phone numbers for CIC and started calling ! Call [protected]. These people in this call center are not the same ones as the web site phone number and are way nicer, more polite and will work with you. They reversed four months of charges and it only took about twenty minutes! Other phone numbers are:[protected];[protected];[protected];[protected]. I think that having the documentation from the bank about disputing the charges and the FTC Complaint number motivated them also! Good Luck!

Free Credit Report Easy way out...

I applied for a FREE credit report as well...after 30 days was charged 14.95...have continued to be charged 14.95 on my credit card even though my password no longer works to even see an updated credit report. Now after seeing the charges i looked up the CIC Triple Advantage online, and saw NOTHING but complaint after complaint. So i simply called my bank told them this was a FRAUD and they canceleld the account number assigned a new and sent me new credit cards...problem solved. took me all of 10 mintues on the phone with my bank. I'm hoping my information here can help save alot of people some money and frustration.

Free Credit Report screwed by freecreditreport.com AKA CIC TripleAdvantage

I wrote this to send to the Better Business Bureau but it was too long and I'm way too frustrated right now to chop it down to 2030 characters.

I signed up at freecreditreport.com back in 2006, checked my credit report, canceled the account, NO PROBLEM. 3 Months ago I did the same and yesterday I noticed that the cancellation didn't go through and I've been getting charged every month since. Three $14.95 charges isn't a lot, but for a service that I don't use and thought had been canceled it is like throwing money out the window.

I called today to see why my account hadn't been canceled and to receive credit for the monthly charges. First the customer service rep tried to sell me 3 more months at a discounted rate. When I told the rep I was just using the site to check my credit report and that I don't want the service and just want to be credited and done I was told that they can't do refunds at all. I then asked to speak with their supervisor. The lady kept telling me that a supervisor couldn't help me and kept asking why I wanted to cancel. This went on for a minute straight before I finally just started repeating "Let me speak with your supervisor. Connect me to your supervisor." I had to say that for almost 30 seconds straight while the customer service rep continued to try to speak over me. She finally said she would have to put me on hold to get her supervisor. I waited on hold for over 5 minutes before she returned and told me that there isn't a supervisor. I said to her, "everybody has a boss and I insist you transfer me to your supervisor." I was told that there were no supervisors and then put on hold again while she looked for one. I was watching the clock this time and 13 minutes went by and I was still on hold so I just hung up.

I called back again and the same thing happened but I didn't stick around to see if the rep would try to find a supervisor a second time. I decided to try again but not tell them that I wanted to cancel this time and see if that works.

So, I called back again and before any talk of what the call was about insisted that I be connected to a supervisor. The customer service rep I was now talking with said that they cannot connect me to a supervisor unless I state what my problem is. I told the lady that I am not going to waste anymore time speaking with someone on the first level of customer service and that I want to speak with somebody higher up. She continued to tell me that unless I tell her why I am calling that she can't connect me to a supervisor, which I think is ridiculous. So, I sarcastically said, "I am so happy with the service that I just need to tell somebody". Silly enough, that was all it took for her to be able to find me a supervisor. I feel like I could have told her that there was an elephant in my account and I would have been transferred. Anyway, after being put on hold for 4 minutes a supervisor picked up the phone. She told to me that I had signed up once in 2006 and canceled 3 days later and that I had signed up again this year and never canceled. I explained to her than I know there is a charge after 7 days of freecreditreport.com service which is why I canceled immediately after checking my credit back in 2006 and why I did the same this year. I told her that through some mix up the cancellation didn't go through and that I simply wanted to cancel the account and be refunded the three $14.95 charges. She told me that she cannot refund me because the services were active. I explained that they should not have been active after I called to cancel and that I just want to cancel and be refunded. After going back and forth over and over about how they can't refund my account and me telling them that it should not have been charged in the first place I told her that I was becoming frustrated. I told her that I feel like I'm being put through the loops of some outsourced Indian call center because it's cheaper than refunding me. After 3 calls and speaking to 4 people, all who were Indian by coincidence I guess, she told me that "we are in fact located in the US and do not outsource. Sir, are you racist?". I was outraged. I could not believe that I was calling to have $44.85 of services that I didn't use refunded and was ending up being called a racist. At that point I told her that enough was enough that all I wanted was a refund and that if she couldn't do it then please transfer me to her supervisor. She told me that there isn't a way to do a refund and that she doesn't have a supervisor. I told her, "that's [censored], everybody has a boss." She told me not to use profanity and I said told her sorry and that the situation is just really frustrating. I then said in a whiny, almost giving up like voice, "I just want a godd*mn refund and for this account to be closed for good." She told me again not to use profanity and that if I continue to that she would disconnect the call. I said exactly, "I'm sorry. I didn't know that godd*mn was enough for you to be able to hang up on me." There was no response and no click so I just kept saying hello until I finally realized that I'd been hung up on.

My god. I still don't know if my account has been canceled and I'm so frustrated right now with the customer service that I'm going to wait until tomorrow to call back and check. Has anybody else had a horrible experience like this or am I the only one?

FreeCreditReport.com IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR FREE
In fact it has cost me 63.14 in just 1 week
with reoccurring charges I was told.
I guess those irritating commercials have to be paid by those of us too trusting of a site that says one time fee of 14.95

Contacted Triple Advantage and they tell me no refund so I had to cancel my credit card.

Maybe those goofey kid commercials will disappear once people find out this is a absolute scam!

Okay, this is totally false advertising. If they say "free credit report" it should be free, not luring you in to pay for everything. And on top of all of that, you don't get your credit report unless you pay for it during the trial period! You only get a score, so how do you even know that's right? I'll never trust anything again that says "free" because it is never free, always a catch and/or fee. I hate companies that hide behind false advertising. What ever happened to "truth in advertising?" Oh, yeah, it never existed.

I went to find a free credit report and ended up enrolling in some credit monitoring program without knowing it. When I called to get a refund, they would not refund the money and said it was my fault for signing up and the disclosure statement was clear. I believe that I was enrolled in something I did not want and I was not notified that the 7 day free trial of this service was up. This is how companies in this country are screwing people all of the time. Just beware when they ask you to provided a credit card number to get your free report.

I don’t know about you but I am mad. I was deceived by FreeCreditReport.com’s glitzy ads and the use of the word free everywhere. After watching one of their commercials I clearly had the understanding that I was going to be receiving a free credit report with no strings attached.

So I ordered the supposedly free credit report from FreeCreditReport.com. They asked me for my credit card number but told me it was just to verify who I was and is a safety precaution so that an identity thief could not obtain my credit report. So I didn’t think twice about it and gave them my credit card number.

A little while later I noticed the bills for $79.95 on my credit card statement. It was for the annual service from freecreditreport.com. In other words, this was truly not a free credit report. They bill you $79.95 for a year’s service and then they call it some credit watching program if you call them to inquire about it.

I looked this up and it is completely against the law. On the FTC website it says that this is not legal to do. If you’re going to be signing people up for a yearly billing scheme then you need to be clear about this in your advertising and you need to state the purpose and the costs.

FreeCreditReport did none of this. Not only that, but they were even dishonest when I called to inquire about it. Then they tried to tell me that I knew about it and that they told me all about it. That is a complete lie. If I had known that this supposedly free credit report was not to be free and was in the cost is $79.95 per year to be enrolled in a worthless credit watching program then I definitely would not have signed up for it.

FreeCreditReport.com should be made to lose their website as it is false. There is no free credit report here. They automatically sign you up for their yearly BS billing cycle and its all about profits and deceiving the consumer. This is why they use singers and glitzy ads so that simmers don’t see the truth and become deceived and fall prey to their $79.95 yearly marketing ploy.

Stay far away from FreeCreditReport.com. There is no free ride or free credit report or free anything you will get from them. It’s all just deceptive advertising and marketing! And just try and get them to stop billing you and to remove you from their billing cycle. It is frustrating and takes forever. I wish I had never ever contacted FreeCreditReport.com!

I have previously requested that the freecreditreport.com site stop debiting my card ending #4813 for $14.95 and on 12-2-11 they have debited another $14.95 causing my account to go into overdraft AGAIN! I rarely use the site and cannot access it because I don't remember what my username not password is because again I don't use it. I did however, send them a request to cancel my membership via the contact us button. If there is any way this complaint can be forwarded to them please do so, so they can stop messing up my account. Thank you Athena Henderson.

What a SCAM! The customer service people don't tell you EVERYTHING that you are going to be charged for. I was told I qualified to have both me and my wife on the card for $14.95 for one year! Then we would get a notice via e-mail reminding us if we wanted to continue service we could keep that price as long as we didn't break the service. The year came along and I noticed they started billing me double. DOUBLE! Then I had to literally fight for 45 minutes with the Cust. Svc. Mgr to get the over charge refund. I cancelled my service.

DON'T BUY INTO THIS SCAM. They only show you ONE credit service. They do not show ALL the credit services such as Equifax and the others. If you want to see the other services you have to pay up the nose!

THIS IS A SCAM. HOLD ON TO YOUR MONEY.

Don't Tell Your Friends or Your Mom about this SCAM COMPANY because they will get screwed like we did and disown you! WHAT A RIP OFF! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY!

In two weeks, I was charged twice at $29.95 each.

Luckily, I paid with my American Express card rather than a debit card, so it was easy for me to get credited back for the charges. According to American Express, they are affiliated with FREECREDITREPORT.COM

Two weeks ago, I did sign up for a "free" credit report. Unfortunately, I neglected to read all the fine print & discovered the resport that I signed up for was NOT FREE, but cost $29.95. AND by requesting it, I unwittingly gave my permission for them to share my information (including my credit card information) with their "affiliates" like MQV*PRIVACYMID who began charging me fees for their services.

I was advised to continue watching my credit card statements for unauthorized charges from other "affiliates". No word on who those may be, but suffice to say that I will be VERY CAREFUL about any "FREE" offers of any kind on the internet.

These people are bunch of crooks. They show free credit score, 30 days free trial credit score and then collect your credit card. When you want to cancel within 30 days they have already charged your card. They will then claim you have agreed to terms and conditions

requested my free annual credit report from the web site freecreditreport.com.

This company charged me 2 months in a row after I cancelled the free trial within the 7 day window, and the second month caused my account to over draft. They REFUSED to refund me for the months they charged me and REFUSED to pay me back for the overdraft charge they caused. During the call on August 2nd, 2011 the operator hung up on me when transferring me to a supervisor and when I called back I had to explain everything again because they were "unable to transfer back to the original operator" and the person I was speaking with sounded as though she was using a language translator instead of actually speaking to me. It was very mechanical and hard to understand.

I attempted to receive a free credit report for all three agencies and signed up for a credit score with a 7 day cancellation feature. I did not receive either my credit reports or scores but they not only debited my account but also shared my credit card information with another company! I called the supposed "agency" and was told that the additional "sharing" i had approved because i had not "unchecked" a box on their web site. this to me is deceptive, packaging practices to extort money from the consumer. One dollar from thousands of customers adds up to millions!
