Synchrony Bank Closing accounts without notice

January 1,2023 synchrony closed not 1 not 2 but 8 of my accounts. Some dont even have balances!. Im am seriously done with this company and their crappy business practices. Then they want to tell me a computer did it. I have never been late on any of my payments and even pay more than what was due or paid in full. I will NEVER do any business with them again and I hope the companies that allow them to service their credit cards see what they are doing to people and their credit. You want to tell me Im a high credit risk but your company gave me the cards. Good riddance!

Synchrony Bank Loan

Worst financial institution in USA. We recently took a small loan for a motorbike. We were never given any documentation for payments. When I didn't receive anything a month later it took a long time to contact the company. Apparently, they do not have anything set up for online. I called corporate and finally got info for customer service number. When called they told me they are not obligated to send a statement because it was a fixed price for the loan! What?!? I paid the $40 late fee and set up for autopay! This month came around and no payment auto populated! Another $40 late fee. They did wave this fee (hense the 1 star) when I called today. I was told there was no autopay set up. When I tried to set it up for the second time, everytime I gave her banking info she stated her system was timing out! She told me I would have to call back at a later time. This after spending 60min this call and 90min last months call. They want you to be late! Can you imagine how much they are pocketing from late fees because paying on time is such a hassle! I will never use this service again! Save yourself and forget this bank. Our stores will have to find another institution to fund their cards!

Synchrony Bank Interest being charged fraudulently

I had two promotional balances on my account that were expiring in Dec. 2022. One for $35.37 expiring 12/26/22, and one for $910.35 expiring also on 12/26/22. (totaled $945.72) I made a payment of $950.00 which posted to my account on 12/13/22. On my next statement, I saw that I was erroneously charged $383.11 in interest for the promotional balances. I have tried endlessly to resolve this. One rep named Terry who I spoke with on 1/5/23 said she would reverse the interest charges, but now I am being told that the reversal of interest is not going to happen.

Desired outcome: I want the $383.11 that I was erroneously charged for interest, credited back to my account.

Synchrony Bank Refund policy

On February 11, 2022, I ordered two 36x36 frameless bathroom mirrors from LampsPlus.com. The mirrors were delivered on February 17th. The mirrors were shipped encased in form-fitting Styrofoam in separate boxes. Opening the first box revealed a shattered mirror. The second one held an intact mirror that had several deep scratches that went unnoticed at that time.

I contacted Lamps Plus immediately about the shattered mirror. I was told I would receive a replacement, that I did not need to return the mirror, and that I would receive an email from them with an address to send an image of the shattered mirror. I received that email and replied with all the information they requested.

By March 14th I had not received the replacement mirror and had heard no more from Lamps Plus. I sent them a third inquiry that day. Again, no reply. I had purchased the mirrors through Synchrony Bank with my Sam’s Club Mastercard. So, because I was being ignored by Lamps Plus I contacted them to dispute the transaction.

Synchrony Bank agreed with my position, initially, and credited my account with the $421.82 purchase price of the mirrors. Now it gets weird. On June 24th I received a message from Synchrony Bank stating that, based upon “new information”, they were reversing the previously issued credit. The “new information” supplied was a proof of delivery statement showing that FedEx had delivered the mirrors on February 17th. That’s not new information, that’s the date I phoned Lamps Plus to report the mirrors had been delivered in damaged condition. Non-delivery was never the issue.

On June 29th I sent a letter to Synchrony Bank. I told them; “before I take further action on this matter, please verify, in writing, with a signature of an actual human with some authority at Synchrony Bank, that you agree with Lamps Plus that delivery is all that matters, that the condition upon delivery is irrelevant.” The letter was sent Certified Mail with a Return Receipt, it was signed for by Rolando Gutierrez.

On July 13th I received a Voicemail to Text message from Synchrony Bank stating; “Hello this is a message from Synchrony Bank for Steven Nick nickel [sic] regarding your Sam’s Club Master Card account. We are calling to inform you that we received your correspondence. We appreciate your patience while we review your request and we’ll update you as soon as possible. We can be reached at [protected]. If you have any questions. Thank you. Goodbye.”

I responded with another letter to Synchrony Bank stating:

“It is important to understand that I did not make a request, I stated a requirement. Nothing short of the letter described, clearly stating your policy that receipt of damaged goods is not grounds for a refund, will suffice. Upon receipt of that letter I will pay the full amount of the purchase, $421.82. I will not pay any late fees or interest as the delay is solely your fault.

“Further communications on this matter other than that letter must be via an email that is monitored.”

That is where we stand. My account balance is $589.61, the sum of the $421.82 plus about six months of late fees and interest. Clearly, Synchrony Bank wants to be paid, but nobody there is willing to put their name on the letter required to obtain it.

Desired outcome: An actual letter, on paper, with a signature, confirming the policy that goods received in unusable condition do not warrant a refund.

Synchrony Bank Login

I've been trying to log in to my Amazon Store Card account for some time now. I have my login and password BUT I can not get past the verification phone number. I changed phone carriers a while back and we could not get the number transferred so I have a new number. As far as I've gotten with the login was to be told that my new number is on file. I cannot get logged in because of the verification procedure. I enter my new phone number (the one that they have on file) and get told it can't be used. There MAY also be a problem with my zip code. I have moved many times since I originally opened this card with Amazon. THIS could be the reason that the virtual assistant can not help me. I even tried to pay my bill as a guest and was refused access.

Synchrony Bank Dental

I received services from Stratford Family Dental in the summer of 2022. I went because my tooth was chipped, and I needed to have it fixed. While there I was told I needed Invisalign, and I agreed to it. I took a loan out through Delta Dental and was approved for 3,400. The Dentist did the Invisalign service and fixed my chipped tooth. I was giving retainers for one month and told to come back the following month. Only after a few days I realized I made a huge mistake it was so very uncomfortable wearing the retainers I was barely eating or sleeping because of the discomfort and pain. I wasn't informed of the discomfort and the maintenance that comes with getting Invisalign. I was never told you would have to brush and floss every time you removed them. After about a week or two the tooth that I got fixed chipped again and I contacted Stratford Dental twice. Once I spoke to a receptionist and told her about the discomfort and she said there was nothing they give you for the pain. The second time I got the actual Dentist, and this was only a few weeks after service. The Dentist informed me there was nothing I can do and to just trust the process when I told her that I was not wearing the retainers properly. It would cause so much pain and agony every time. I also let her know that my front tooth chipped again and that was the only reason I went to the Dentist to begin with. Then, I called Sychrony Bank and I disputed the charge twice with Sychrony Bank and regardless of the dispute I was still being charged for the service. I received retainers for one month I should not be getting billed 3,400 dollars for a 6-month service. Especially when I tried to see what could be done before the first month was over. Also, the last dispute I did with Sychrony Bank I spoke with a supervisor, and they literally were so rude and did not help at all. I really would love for someone higher up to listen to that call. Because the supervisor literally put the phone down and then didn't say anything it was November 30th, 2022, at around 12 p.m. in the afternoon

Desired outcome: My Desired outcome is to not have to pay 3,400 for an incomplete and poorly done service. This has affected my credit in so many ways and no way I should be getting charged 3,400 for a 6-month service.

Synchrony Bank Furniture loan through living spaces

In 2018 I purchased a couch from living spaces. I did not realize the interest free portion was for a limited time. That said, I NEVER received statements or notification via email that the deal I signed up for would soon expire. I had automatic payments set up through my bank and did not realize how long I have been paying for this. Had I known, I certainly would have paid the balance off before the interest kicked in. Now as a result, I have probably paid double the price of the couch. Furthermore, I have had no luck reaching a human being at Synchrony. I paid the balance today to avoid further damage to my credit. They should do the right thing and admit they never sent me any correspondence and at least be willing to split the difference. I will never do business with this company again.

Desired outcome: Refund half of the interest paid since 2018

Synchrony Bank Synchrony charging me for a generator purchased from Lowes that I did not receive

In July 2022 I ordered a generator online from Lowe's. The generator arrived in San Antonio but was misplaced by Estes Shipping before it could be delivered.

I needed a generator ASAP so I ordered a second. It was delivered, I was billed for both generators and I paid the bill in full for the one I received. I filed a dispute with Lowe's over the original charge and was given a claim number.

The first generator was located and delivery was attempted twice where I refused both times.

I have been communicating with Synchrony Bank since July but they keep telling me that Lowe's says I received the generator. I talked with Estes Shipping and they confirmed with date and ticket number that the original generator was returned to the Lowe's Goliad Road location in San Antonio.

I have written documentation for all of the above including letters, invoices, receipts, etc.

Desired outcome: All I want if for Synchrony to correct my billing statement removing the charge for the generator that I did not receive and that was returned to Lowe's.

I have had the same problem. It is not synchrony. Lowes are the culprits. I have had problems with Lowes a couple of times. You have to stay on it with Lowes to get it corrected. I am going through it with them right now. They want $162 interest and they owe me $121.

Synchrony Bank Closed my Discount Tire Account

Without notice Synchrony closed my Discount Tire account. I think I was late on one payment a month ago, so I called to find out why my account was closed. I was told it was closed because I have high balances on several high limit credit cards. I travel for a living so my cards are charged up and paid down on a regular basis. I was told I will be getting a letter in the mail. I believe to close an account like this has an effect on your credit score, so I consider this a personal attack on me. I guess I will be buying my tires somewhere else in the future.

Desired outcome: I would like my account reinstated. I do not need any tires at this time, but I like to know I am covered if I have an emergency out on the road.

Synchrony Bank Closing my account

I am so glad I saw this. I want to know if anyone knows how to join the class suit because they closed my accounts just until the balance and stated because there was no transactions in the past six months this dropped my credit score. Never was late. This is very unfair. Sleep number, Mattress firm, American Signature and Rooms to Go. I purchased a new home two years ago and purchased new furniture I had twelve months of no interest. I made 11 month of payments and one month left and they closed all of the cards.

Desired outcome: I want my credit to be fixed by this. It is unacceptable

Synchrony Bank Blue barrel chair

I have been attempting to resolve my problem since June. I ordered a Barell Chair. I had to return it because the delivery people left it outside in the rain. I promptly called Amazon customer service saying that the chair needed to be returned They agreed and came to pick up the chair. They refunded my money on a gift card but failed to tell Synchrony Bank that the chair was returned. As a result Synchrony bank continued to charge me for the chair. I called the bank regarding my complaint. They said that they would start a dispute. This problem has been going on since June. They also stated the dispute could take up to 60 days. As it stands I still have not received my refund. It is unfair that when I purchase a item I have to pay right away, however when a item is returned to Amazon it takes months for me to be refunded. I would like my money ASAP. I have been far to patient and if I do not get my money bank. I will have to call the BBB or file fraud charges. Please respond ASAP. False charges billed to my account without my knowledge! Never notified. Never received a statement till three months later. My Credit card was reported compromised, and the account requested to be closed. The credit card was never activated. The account was closed. New card issued but not wanted. All attempts to contact your office failed miserably. Your organization refuses to reconcile this fraudulent attempt to extort funds. Please advise! I cannot take any more harassment.

Desired outcome: Let's put an end to this madness! Please. I want my PAYPAL credit card closed! I am sending a payment of $264.82 with hopes to stop your fraudulent proceedings against me. Hopefully, I will get a refund!

Synchrony Bank Credit Limit Decrease

I have had at least 4 accounts with Synchrony Bank. (1) Ashley Furniture card was canceled after they decreased my limit after no activity on this account. (2) Old Navy card credit limit decrease right before my account went to Barclays. (3) Lowes credit card limit was decrease to the balance left on the card. (4) My Home Depot card was the same SB deceased my limit to my statement balance. (5) I'm waiting on SB to do the same with it. I have never been late nor have I ever missed a payment with them. I have 100% payback on ALL of my accounts. But SB changes everything on me when I least expect it. I will not recommend this financial institute to anyone. So it doesn't matter the card holders loyalty because Synchrony Bank has no LOYALTY.

Desired outcome: To increase all of my limits back to where they were so that my credit score will readjust.

Synchrony Bank JCP credit card

I paid off my JC Penney credit card and asked customer service if there was anything I could do to make sure the amount was posted. The customer service said you are all set, but now I received a letter from credit bureaus that my excellent credit dropped 112 points because of 7.63$ that the bank charged for the interest, but the customer service told me was paid. One of the worst banks out there and I am not surprised it is a one-star bank. I won't recommend this bank to anyone. I talked to their customer service representative to dispute the problem but she was very rude and said they won't be able to fix it.

Synchrony Bank My synchrony home account

I have had a My Synchrony Home Account for 5 years and never missed a payment until a few months ago I scheduled a payment and Wells Fargo sent the payment back leaving me unaware that this transpired. I was never notified that this mishap occurred for no one tried to reach to me so we could resolve the issue. This wound up affecting my credit score and bringing it down into the 500s, which My Synchrony decided to close my account restricting my access to it without a letter or any reasonable forms of communication. I will never recommend Synchrony bank to anyone and will give fair warning that this is the type of treatment you as a consumer will receive. I have busted my butt to keep that account in good standing and it was all for nothing. They don't care about people as I have learned through this experience.

Desired outcome: Hopefully they will start caring about people

Synchrony Bank 12 Month No Interest Bait and Switch

I bought a $900 appliance at Lowes (Kenosha) during their Black Friday sales event (2022). I intended to use my own credit card for the purchase but was lured (THE BAIT) to use their 12-months to pay w/ no interest if paid in full and on time. My receipt indicated that I qualified for the promotion. Two weeks later I received a letter from Synchrony Bank stating that I was not approved for the promotion, meaning that my purchase carried with it a 26% interest rate (THE SWITCH). I call Synchrony this morning; I was put on hold for 20minutes, then when somebody finally came to the phone, the person said she couldn't hear me at her end, she said bye and to call again. Overall NOT a very pleasant experience.

Synchrony Bank Horrible business practices

I had two cards (Guitar Center and Harbor Freight) that were backed by Synchrony Bank, both used regularly and both paid off well before the term was remotely close to being due. Recently Iwas looking to make a rather large purchase at guitar center and was intterested in taking advantage of their 48 month no interest promotion, because, again, the item would be paid off well within that no interest promotion period. The credit limit I had on my Guitar center card would not cover the purchase though so I called for a credit limit increase.

Now, a little background... Due to a shady ex wife, I keep a constant eye on my credit, and I KNOW where my credit is at. I know what my credit score is, I know what my balances on my cards are, and I know what I have out in loans. My credit is excellent and WELL over 700.

I was declined. WTF? They wouldn't tell me why, or offer me a lesser amount than I asked for. Simply told me I would get a letter.

I get an email a few days later citing "LACK OF REAL ESTATE"... seriously? so now the fact that I choose to lease rather than buy because of the amount of time I'm out of the house is a determining factor in my credit worthiness? nevermind the fact thatI've never had a late payment or even taken anything I've bought to term.

But wait, it gets better...

This past weekend I get ANOTHER email saying my credit limit has been CUT IN HALF!

This time it cites my Trans Union Credit report saying there are late payments, high balances and excessive revolving accounts.

As stataed earlier, I keep a constant eye on my credit, so I pull my latest Trans Union Credit report and low and behold, not a single one of those things are cited on my credit report.

When I called their piss poor excuse for customer service (please please please stop outsourcing to places that do not understand the english language) they kept telling me that I would have to dispute the errors with Trans Union. What exactly do you think I'm going to dispute with Trans Union when there is nothing wrong with my Trans Union Credit report?

These people just could not grasp the concept that they had the wrong information. Their ineptness and inability to be able to do their job correctly has now 1) effected my credit by lowering my credit 2)pissing me off to the point that I cancelled the card completely and 3) cost them a good customer because I was set to drop almost $4k on a Gibson Les Paul on the Guitar Center card in question, and I will never use the Harbor Freight Card again. I have started looking at who backs a card now, and if it's Synchrony Bank...I walk away.

I have no idea whose credit they used to lower my credit limit, but it sure as hell wasn't mine. When Confronted with the truth they continued to lie and tell me it was all on my most recent report...meanwhile I was looking at my most recent report.

Synchrony Bank Sports credit card

I bought some exercise equipment from bowflex and at the time they offered me this great equal payment no interest option and I took it I set up the auto payment so today I decided to call to see how many payments were left and I came to find out that the 18 month was a promotion only that if it was not paid in full within certain time they would charge me a 29% interest so my new balance is triple what it should be because they are charging me an additional $2,200 just in interest! I never got a call about this, it was not explained to me at the time of purchase and they just dont care this is a 100% misleading sales process with the only purpose to rip off their customers. I am looking to see if there is anything I can do legally because this should not be allowed this is just wrong

Synchrony Bank Services

I have a joint account at Synchrony bank.com and recently requested that the bulk of the money be sent to my address. The addresses on file are on the same road and are connecting properties. I receive mail at either address 741 County Road 3670 Lamar Ark. 72846 or 684 County Road 3670 Lamar Ark. 72846. I asked that a cashier's check be sent to my name at 741 County Road 3670 Lamar Ark. 72846 this last week. I was told the check would arrive on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, and had it sent by express mail or "fed ex". It did not, after Thursday on Thanksgiving day I called again. I was told "I would receive it that day on the 25th. I waited for it to come on Sat. as well. Each time I've called I was told,"it has been mailed". I called back and asked to speak with a manager after seeing one of my accounts was restricted. I ask them why it was and told them"I wanted it to be unrestricted"I was told the bank is trying to decide whose money it is and where it should be mail. This is not the bank's position, it is my money and their only responsibility is to do as I dictate them to do with it. If this were $25,000 the bank would have sent the money without question. It is a little over $294,000 so the bank believes they have any say in it. My name is on the account and I am able to do with the money as I please. I have always appreciated the way this bank has done business until now. My name is Paula Sbabo-my S.S.# is [protected], and the name of my first car was a"Comet"This bank has no right to withhold my money or make any decisions regarding my account. This is exactly why my son tells me"to not keep money in a bank"

Desired outcome: I want my funds released to the account that has been restricted to be unrestricted.

Synchrony Bank Harassment over the past 4 months for a payment made, cleared my bank, and received by synchrony.

Good afternoon,

This email will serve as our proof of communication regarding the Chevron account ending in #6921 (note account ending in #3092 was canceled years ago).

This has been an exhaustive and frustrating process with Synchrony Bank and our Chevron account. The situation has been going on since August 2022.

The most recent letter from Synchrony Bank dated 11/15/22 indicated that "after researching our request, we found the payment in question has not been credited to your account. To assist Synchrony Bank in resolving the matter, we will need documentation of our payment."

We already provided Synchrony proof of payment in our faxed letter and transaction history from our banking institution, Valley Strong Credit Union. The fax was sent and received on 9/30/2022.

Apparently, that was not proof enough that we paid the amount of $560.24 in full so Synchrony sent another letter to us on 11/15/22. After receiving that letter we went to our bank (time-consuming on our end) and had a letter drafted with proof of payment with ACH tracking numbers for the original complaint made back in August 2022 (Please contact Juan Gonzales Assistant Branch Manager at Valley Stron Credit Union [protected].)

Synchrony Bank was provided via fax on 11/19/22 with several documents indicating our payment and receipt of our payment in question from our banking institution, Valley Strong Credit Union.

Attached you will see the documents that were faxed to the number provided on the 11/15/22 letter from Synchrony Bank [protected].

The next communication should be between Synchrony Bank and Valley Strong Credit Union Juan Gonzales Assistant Branch Manager

[protected].

If your harassment continues, we will be forced to obtain legal representation. We have multiple accounts with Synchrony and it should be easy for you to see we are loyal customers with an outstanding credit record.

Communication is difficult, no replies confirming fax received. Letters sent to the house reference an old account number (ending in 3092.) Lackluster professionalism. Feel free to call me at [protected] or my wife Wendy [protected] (I give her permission to speak on my behalf.)

Desired outcome: Credit our account ending in #6921 for the $560.24.
