American Telephone Customer Service

I was a proud retiree who pays almost $500 in services per month. I am a stockholder with 40, 000 shares. I was told I cannot escalate my complaints because I am a retiree. I was on the phone being told my service and money is no longer appreciated.
1) I have service that is out frequently sometimes for weeks. I was the first in my subd to have DSL and Uverse-probably for over 20 yrs. This last year it was so bad. Repair has a record. Finally in first week of Dec I told them to condition my land line pair and use it on tv/internet. Fiber is nearly here. We were going to replace it with VOIP. This worked. VOIP after I gave it more thought was going to overburden that one pair so I cancelled the VOIP.
2) It is now July 14 and I can't get them to stop billing. Service shows cancelled, the pair is disconnected but the bill goes on. I have spent 8 hrs on phone trying to get bill gone.3) My bill for tv/internet showed in arrears-it is autopay. Somehow auto-pay got turned off. 4)I got notice thatI need to return my equipment. This would disconnect my uverse and DSL. Is that what they want? 5) my wireless bill shows they never received my iphone trade-in from last April. I handed it to phone clerk when he brought new one to car. Last April. It shows the phone center address on the phone. Why do I stay? I am commenting because I cared about this company. I stayed thru crashing stock prices and lower dividends. Let's bring back their glory days. Customer service has to be revived.

Desired outcome: I want to understand where the failure to communicate lies. Is it hopeless?

I have tried since sunday, 2-2-20 to call at&t to discuss my landline phone bill, [protected] and received a recording that they are closed. Today, 2-3-20, i called over 6 times and received the same recording that they are closed. Only once i got through and irish (internet) transferred me to the wrong department. I tried to go online to do a chat with them and could not find out how to do a chat with them. My bill needs yo be paid and i have been overcharged and need to get it straightened out. I am very stressed out and don't want to pay a late charge. I want to talk to someone who can correct my bill asap. Thank you.

American Telephone cell phones

I think this is for AT&T, if not I apologize, This is a complaint about AT&T wireless.

My phone hasnt worked correctly since I've bought it. They keep on trying the SAME things and it never works. Today when I called them and explained the situation to them, the guy asked "have you done the troubleshooting?" Don't they understand English? Oh, wait, they probably don't considering they are in India! After that he said they were going to have to charge me a fee to send back my phone and get a new one? WTH? I should NOT have to pay to get something that has not worked correctly since the day I've had it replaced. I am pissed now because, after we hung up they tried to call me back twice?! AGAIN WTH? i SAID MY PHONE DIDN'T WORK.

That brings me to another problem. EVERY time I call AT&T, which I won't anymore, I always talk to an Indian or Canadian. The Canadian's aren't bad at all but, the Indian's, you can't even understand what language they are speaking! You need American workers to handle American customers.

American Telephone Misrepresentation

Good afternoon,

On May I called and was offered wireless and a better cellphone plan. The plan was to be $90ish a month (cheaper and better she said) because of the military discount. I enrolled then on auto-pay so I didn't have to worry about it. In August I was cleaning my email and I noticed a balance of $300+, so I called on August 5, how could this be? First of all my bill was supposed to be $90ish and I set up autopay. I spoke with a lady and explained all of this. I also encouraged her to review the call where I was offered the $90ish plan to prove that I was telling the truth. She said it was Not necessary that they would honor the plan. I asked for her to send me to prove or ad notes to my account just in case. She adjusted my bill which left a $180 balance, I paid that over the phone with her. I also enrolled in autopay. She explained that there was another bill coming due in August and that it would come out of my credit card automatically. Please review this call also! On August 20 my service was canceled due to nonpayment. I called and was transferred many times and even had to call back because the phonecall was dropped. Keep in mind that I had to explain everything to each person I spoke to. The last attempt that day I spoke with Rodolfo or Adolfo, he said that he could not transfer me to the billing department unless I paid my balance, at this point, I was very upset. I told him that my balance should be $90 and not 300 something. Eventually, he took a $90 payment...I asked if I could be transferred then and he said NO. You would review this and call me. He even charged me a $5 fee even tho I explained everything to him multiple times but I didn't say anything about that because I had bigger problems. Then today, my account was canceled one more time. I was on the phone for over three hours today, believe it or not. I was transferred 6 times. Had to call three times. Again, I had to explain the situation, everyone, I spoke with. The fifth time I was like, NO you can't help me, DO NOT transfer me again, I need to speak to a supervisor. I waited and spoke with Jade (I believe that's what she said). She told me that she could Not honor the $90ish bill...after explaining all of this. I say to listen to all the phone calls to prove I am telling the truth. I told her I felt like I was taking advantage of. She said that she couldn't do anything and offered me zero out my account but my plan would not be what they offered me and what they honored me. So I asked to cancel the service, she didn't even respond to me...just sent me to cancelations. Then I spoke with Tiana (I believe). She was actually very helpful. She took her time to look at my bill and calculate everything. She also conference called the military discount to see why I was not getting the discount yet. They said the military ID was hard to read and that I would get the 25% discount on my cellphone bill backdated to May because that is when I submitted my ID/form. Then she spoke with the military discount for the wirelss and told me the same thing. She was able to zero out my account. My bill is now going to be $140 until the military discount kicks in. When it does, I will be credited from May to then.
I request that you review all the phone calls and make a fair decision.

Let me know if you have any questions, I know I just threw a lot at you.

My phone number is [protected] Merlys Garcia

Please make it right.

Thank you!

Merlys

Please see attached for a picture of how long I was on the phone today. It was actually a little longer...I took the picture when I wasn't done with the conversation.

Also, I must add, I was told I was getting fiber optic and I am definitely NOT.

American Telephone Mobile Service/Tablet

Date of Incident: 11/12/18

On 11/12/18 - I & my husband cancelled our service with AT&T after over 10 years of service, due to the fact we moved to an area that did not receive good cell service.

The cell service provider we went to, Verizon, was able to receive service in our area and we ported our cell phones over to Verizon, therefore, cancelling ALL our services with AT&T (at least that's what I was told)

I paid my last bill (of service provided) on 12/4/18.

On 12/18/18 - I received a bill for service for 12/14/18 - 1/13/19, so I went online and chatted with Victor Blaze. After not receiving the information I needed, I contacted AT&T customer service on 12/19/18, originally speaking with Violet and I explained I had cancelled my service on 11/12/18 and received another bill. Violet transferred me to Meagan in Finance. Meagan in Finance told me when my service was cancelled, it did not cancel my tablet service, and at the most I should have been billed $10.00. Meagan then transferred me to Maverick who told me he would make sure my tablet was cancelled as of 12/18, but that I should not have been billed and I would receive a credit and to not pay the $104.00 I had been billed. Well, on 2/14/19, I received another bill this time for $110.00 and said my bill from December was now Past Due! I again contacted Customer Service on 2/15/19 and originally spoke to Santiago, who disconnected our call. I called back speaking with Louis (who was very polite by the way) and explained everything to him and he said there was nothing he could do about the bill, so I asked to speak to a manager. I then spoke to Eric (Manager) who told me he could not reduce the bill, that I would have to file a complaint. After all of this, I will never recommend AT&T to anyone! You won, because I do not like to have a past due on my record, so therefore I paid $110.00 which I should not have paid, due to not receiving service!
