Mike of Bostonpromodels and also Swimwearplus & Newenglandpromodels is making fraudulent claims about getting models into sports illustrated swimwear magazine, maxim magazine... which is very misleading to models who don't know any better.

He also claims to have extensive background in runway, glamour and fashion which he doesn't have at all... he has never set foot nor has shot any fashion shows... everything he knows he copies from books magazines or old dvds... he claims to have ties to modeling agencies local & major... he has general information that if a model did her homework she could get the same information herself.

It's very sad that this person is brainwashing new models with misinformation and using them for his gain.

Mike is an amazing photographer, and an extremely caring individual who is very passionate about what he does! I've worked with Mike for almost 5 years now, and his photos have greatly improved my port! If you look at his work and his attention to detail, you can see he truly has an eye for photography. It's quite discouraging to see such nasty comments on here because what has been said about him is completely and 100% false. Mike would never make these kinds of claims unless he had the proof to back it up. It's honestly mind boggling to me that people can go out of their way to fabricate such stories. I've seen it happen other times with other photographers as well, and it's always out of sheer jealously, which is very unfortunate. I sincerely hope those of you reading this do not feed into these accusations and fabrications. Please, just be adult about things and don't feed into the drama.

Dude your work is miserably sub par. You really have never done anything with it. You don't even make money off your fake pay sites. Stop trying to act like you are anything.

Mike here,
I surely know who submitted this and their issues go far beyond myself and modeling in general. I heard the blame game of others while shooting and their numerous personal issues from them This person has an ax to grind with everyone. Always someone's fault but their own. I put no spin on anything. I am direct with what a model needs to work on based on what their goals of modeling are.

I so love working with models who have a great work ethic and personality. I bring everything a serious model would love for a great chance towards a successful modeling endeavor. I really understand what it takes for success. I care, i treat all models and non models with respect and go out of my way to help and educate models for modeling can bring many rewards if someone with potential is willing to learn and make the effort towards their goals. So many beginner models can be amazing yet don't understand what it takes., I certainly do. Success does not fall from the trees and i so point out success comes to those who train, learn and work harder while others are sleeping and partying away. Fun things to do, but if you want success you need to make sacrifices beyond talking.

Never in my life did I say I had any model in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. We all know all one needs to do is say SHOW ME. Obviously this person has no merit for I have numerous years of SI and swimwear magazines so why didn't i point out MY model in SI? Anyone can post on these boards and lie. i wouldn't drive out of my way and spend my money because they were partying to hard and this is the way to get back at me. I've been shooting around 38 years and few care more, or have my experience, ability or professionalism. I care and treat models as I would my own family and friends and will spend hours to help educate the model so they can see what hard work and direction can do for their lives, part time to full time based on their life demands.

I do suggest models without tattoos, some height with proportion, personality, shoot at a beach and consider COMMERCIAL, PROFESSIONAL and agency work instead of just shooting for local photographers or traveling all the time. I also suggest all models who wish to attain professional work realize the importance of proper posing, attention to detail, no distractions, eye speak, hair posing, skin tones, the ability to sell, warmth, direct, reflective looks all are important to success. I suggest a model work and train like an Olympian. Do things for yourself, not to live your life for all others if you want success. I point out keep your modeling out of facebook and friends till you are modeling professionally making money. You don't need to be discouraged by haters. Again the more real you are and speaK with your eyes, posture the better.

SI is one of the major "why not try" commercial work I suggest. i had a model drawing interest towards SI but she never succeeded for various reasons but she had her shot. Her agent, not I worked her submittals. I shot great images and personable video clips. I use them to show how they help showcase the model and the more great things you have the other models don't have, and the more you showcase you have a nice look and personality about you, along with the ability to sell that why not you? How is this not great advice for any model?

I study intently all magazines, internet images, model videos, SI Videos, agency images as any model looking for success needs
to know what it takes and I ALWAYS explain you need to work and train harder and then understand you are only as good as your worst image and that image is everything. It is not what you do but how you do it. You need to remove the doubt, study the photos and videos of your competition and if you succeed then chances are you have a good chance of having some model success,
I study my own work daily and critique what i do.

I point out to models that any model above 21 years old best have a professional model website that has photos and videos without too much redundancy. A portfolio should be like a resume, stay on topic and teach the viewer why you are the model for their casting. . Images that will remove the doubt, showcasing your knowledge thru your images. That would include non over photoshopped images, proper garments, name brand garments, matching tops and bottoms, no wrinkles, overlaps and distractions. Different hair styles and makeup to accessories.

Having contacts in the modeling world? Why is that bought up? I do know a Manhattan agency owner and a person in the business in a high end top tier agency. Has nothing to do with this model. I stated that SI Swimsuit has a casting call but they prefer model agencies so the model would need in addition to a professional portfolio showcasing photos and video but probably have their model agency they sign with submit for them. I stated i do know two high end folks in the field that if i had a well prepared, fit model who had everything but the huge experience that perhaps the fellow i knew from my college days for i knew his brother well could possibly know who to contact. How does that hurt anyone and being deceiving. I think people hear what they want to hear and certainly changed everything I had to say and just make false claims .

I have also shot many local models who work for Boston Modeling Agencies. MANY. I point out a model beyond 21 again must have a portfolio web site and remove the doubt and have the ability to sell. Don't expect good looks to get in. You need the personality to sell and have a look the garment buyer would love to have for themselves. I point out don't count on agency work for full time for only a few have success in that area. I point out models can have full time model success if they have the look, work ethic, and real look.
The more real you are, from hair tones to body parts and a friendly way the more chance of success you have.

Now this person brings up runway and runway comes up with so few, very few models and i don't even go there except to say runway model work goes towards the tall models, I used to shoot alot of runway and watch runway and study hundreds of fashion tv videos. I do so what has that got to do with them or any other models. I tell models who are tall enough to study the free videos on the internet, understand some of the tutorials may have errors and their are a few different styles but there's alot to learn about how fit and confident models are in general. That's it. How did this come up? Kind of narrows things down where runway came up only because the model wanted paid work. Just an attack about nothing but grudge. And then to say i have never step foot in a fashion show. Good luck in court on this one too when i break out my work and i have video at these events with my voice and at major establishments. Is anyone aware of what this person is doing for a civil law suit in the court of law. One false accusation after another and no backup. How do they know if i ever went to a fashion show? And then why are we talking about something i never
have done with any models except one wanted a video of her walking years ago during our photo shoot,

I don't have knowledge of glamour that I have shot for years? Fashion? I have thousands of images of fashion and had subscriptions for Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Harpers, and others. check out Esquire, GQ, MAXIM and others all the time. Look at my work. How can you copy? You have it or you don't. FEW anywhere pose and shoot correctly except the major magazines,

I've had several models in MAXIm home town hotties that one or a few images shot by myself, . FIRST OFF the models need to submit to Maxim and Maxim did contact me asking if models were going to submit to them a few times. I did have two models who
were showcased in Maxim but pointed out one of the models asked me what to do and then someone else shot their images. The second model was a model I shot who lives in California. I never discussed more than an unknown could make it to Maxim with the right look and images because she did. I never gave false claims or said they would be in Maxim. I put casting calls out offering to shoot great images and themes for anyone who wants to submit as hundreds do. What is misleading about that. ANd i do amazing work so if you want a great chance of learning what to do for success and have the images then I'm your guy. Check out my work, it speaks for itself. Great attention to detail and personality of the models.

The sad part is this person has no money and i can win a civil judgement good for 40 years but if they were willing and hard working they would stop blaming I and many others. But I'll address this legally for this board is accountable for this false accusation. This board is accountable for faceless defamation. This is the disservice, badmouthing a great resource for any serious model and hopeful. I'm extremely professional and will work hours of my own time to help educate models and my images are shot with a purpose. And all is done at my own time and expense.

The model can't post her real name for then you would do a search and immediately know the bashing is nothing that really has to do with me but really just about their own personal issues. You would totally get it as she will in court and this board for allowing false claims. SHAME on this site for faceless false attacks against good people and a great resource. Check out my work.
