Dollar General employees, store appearance

Today, I walked into your store on Brandon Ave in Roanoke, VA. I frequently come in here and the one on Brambleton Ave because they are close to my work and my home. The employees are so rude at both stores, it's unbelievable. Always complaining. You're always in THEIR way and they make it known that you are. There is a young girl over at Brambleton who will scream in your face at the register to welcome customers in the store as they walk in. I'm sorry, but when I'm standing there paying for my stuff, I'm not fond of having someone scream in my face to other customers. I, myself, am a business owner and would never treat my clients the way these employees treat their customers. That is how you lose business. Also, both stores are disorganized and dirty. They're never stocked. I've been waiting on orange Goody's at the Brambleton store for a month and they've yet to be put out. I had to go elsewhere. I've seen these stores when they were good...and I'm seeing them now and I have to say that if something doesn't change, we will be taking our business somewhere else and not coming back. I spend a lot of money in your stores because they are conveniently located, but this has just gotten to be too much.

Dollar General lack of employees

I was visiting family for the holidays 1-2-2019 and stoped I'm at the local dollar general store #14995. My complaint is the number of employees that were in the store at 3:10 in afternoon. There was only ONE employee in the store. I don't understand how one person can work a store by themselves in the middle of the day. When I got to the front of the line after about twenty minutes of I asked her where her help was? She said someone left early and that another employee wouldn't be there until 6:00pm.

Dollar General management

Does not mean anything cause you cant complain without providing info about yourself so nothing is anonymous! Living in a small town will get me retaliation if known. Manager was talking private company business about an employee she has and brought up their living status and sexual orientation talking to a employee with myself and others checking out. Un ethical! Talked about them in derogatory ways and the intent terminate having a plan to run them out and have the other employee take there spot cause they think they way they live is "discussing like a sick wild animal cause they are a [censored] and feel sorry for their children" then she turned to the employee and told them to "watch" the customers that walked in because those illegal brown people all steal and to follow them around"! Sicking! What values does this company have! This is in syracuse, ks. Wish I could report without her trying to ban me and knowing I said something but this is the only store in 60 miles! It is a life line and not the values of our small town!

Dollar General store hours

All of who are complaining about the stores only having 1 person working. Let me explain something. The stores are only given 130 hrs a week to run them but the stores are open 14 hours a day some 13 hours a day. Do the math... How many hours does that leave the store covered by 2 ppl 7 and of this 7 u have 4 hrs max with 2 ppl... This company leaves it all up to the store mangers to take the complains and deal with it and if it goes to corp. Then we as store mangers loss our jobs point blank...

Dollar General managers and staff

This particular store, 801 Lakes st. Elmira NY 14904 I believe it's 14904. They are always rude to customers and they never want to reload Internet for anyone's phones. They have or don't have it depending on the worker, including managers. They always have people in there yelling and I also believe they have managers in with customers stealing stuff. I always see customers whispering and management doing it as well. Plz check up on this. I am so uncomfortable I don't go in there alone.

Dollar General christmas clearance

Your ad says clearance on trim a tree. Lights are trim a tree. I went to buy Christmas lights. At store #13950 I was sold lights at 70% off, 20 count white light white wire. I went to store #11270 for the white lights with a white wire 100 count and was told they were not marked down. I left went back to the store #13950 to double check if they had them. They did not. I was then told the lights were not on sale (the girl from store #11270 admitted to calling the store). I went back to store # 11270 and all the lights were gone. I was told they had to pull them. She pulled them after I tried to buy them on clearance. The time to pull them was before I tried to buy them. Better still the right thing to do was sell them on clearance as your ad stated since they were on the floor. I bought what I wanted across the street at FAMILY DOLLAR. My husband and daughter already refuse to shop store #11270. I guess I will be shopping Family Dollar from now on. They have digital coupons just like you and sell the same products and are located across the street from store #11270. NOT GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. The girl who refused to sell them to me on clearance is Billie Denette, store manager. She has a lot to learn about customer service. Better to have sold them to me then to have pulled them. Now all she has is a disgruntled customer and a loss of business.

Usually wrapping paper and lights don't get marked down after Christmas. They're stored away or gets sent back to their distribution centers. If you was sold lights at 70% off, that manager is going to get in big trouble or possibly get fired.

Dollar General osha violation and poor management

Only 1 employee left working alone for a whole shift. Management was no where to be found and when asked about her she refused to come in. No restroom key was left for customers or employees to use. Was told only management had the key and she was gone for the day. This store has always had management issues, but this is OSHA VIOLATION for sure. Can't believe this company allows this behavior from management. This has been reported to OSHA and will be investigated. For future reference management needs to be trained properly.

Dollar General unethical and unrealistic behaviour by store employee/manager

On January 1, 2019 at approximately 4:10 pm my daughter and I entered our local Dollar General Store in Red Oak, Texas as has happened numerous times in the 9 years we have live in our town. On this day, we noticed a new employee/manager. As my daughter and I shopped, the manager and another employee began following us around and making comments i.e., "the police are coming, you better put that stuff up or pay for it" and they continued to walk by us looking down the front of our clothing and staring at us as we shopped. We have no idea what prompted this strange behavior by these two representative of the Dollar General Store. As we continued to shop, the police walk in and ask us to move to the front corner of the store, asking for our identifications and searching us. We still have no idea what they were looking for. After being dismissed we are still in awe of this situation. I personally have NEVER been so embarrassed and felt so humiliated in my entire life. We received no apology or any type of answer as to why this conduct took place. The items I was going to purchase, I left at the store and just came home.

There was no reason whatsoever for the manager/employee to conduct themselves in such a manner, especially without any explanation.

On behalf of myself and my daughter we would like a formal apology by the manager and employee for their actions. We are requesting the same from the police department as we still are not given any reason nor were we offered an apology.

At any rate, I personally will never shop at this particular Dollar General ever again, if I even ever enter a Dollar General Store due solely to this managers behavior. There are too many choices for consumers to shop without being treated like a common criminal.

Sincerely,

La Donna Wilcher

You will NEVER find 4 people in a store at a time. 2 at the most! Stores do not get enough hours a week to employee 4 people per shift.

I shop at Dollar General in Hialeah, Florida. It is a great store. For the past two months this store has gone to crap. There are not enough employees and all the aisles are empty. Dozens of opened boxes stand in the aisles and the shelves are empty. There is only one cashier that is 76 years old. She is alone there from 3-10 and is overwhelmed with all the customers and missing items in the shelves. I strongly advise that your regional manager checks this out, since it is a great store and is missing out on a lot of sales. Not to mention the possibility of robbers coming in and stealing. Please check into this complaint because there should be at least 4 people in the store as opposed to an elderly cashier trying to do her best. The manager is also overwhelmed with no one to help him. It is a recipe for disaster. HELP THE STORE!

Dollar General opening time

On my way to drop off my son to school and I needed to get a few things before hand. I arrived at the store at 8:04 AM (google and store door says opening time at 8:00 AM) waited five minutes and decided to call the store and what I got was not pleasant. The employee told me that the systems were updating and it would be another 15 minutes before the store was open. If I were the business and/or manager of that store I would've been upset that a customer was trying to go there to purchase something when the employee should have been there MUCH earlier to update the system. On top of that he was very rude to me on the phone. And one more thing, the only car there which I am assuming was his was parked right in front of the store making it inconvenient for other customers to use the store front spots.

My digital coupons are not coming off. I add them and there on my coupons. Get to the register put in my number takes off some and not others. I makesure it's the correct product look at exp date . It's just not coming off am really upset because I have probably lost a good 30 dollars on coupons. And buying more things . Stay on the phone for 45 min waiting to only find out to go online . Talk to 2 different departments back and forth . I go to dollar general because of the digital coupons . And also the manager can see you have it downloaded and said they can't do anything if they don't come off . I really would like to talk to someone and get answers this is a RIP off . False advertising.

Dollar General customer service

For the entire month of December, my husband and children have seen personally a teenager who is under 16 constantly behind the counter and in the office. I personally know for sure that it is illegal for a 15 year old to be hired through Dollar General as in the past I myself was a key-holder and am fully aware of the rules, laws and hiring process. Until recently I have never had an issue with ANYONE (management included) working in my local store but over the past month there has been a LOT of UNPROFESSIONALISM; with the staff swearing, allowing family members to just constantly hang around the store, no dress code being followed, and rudely talking about customers shopping within the store. The ONLY reason and I mean ONLY reason that I shop at this store is due to having no means to travel out of town to do my shopping elsewhere.

Dollar General employees/cashiers

Very disappointed in Dollar General today. At the Dollar General located in Liberty, MS, my mother and I were standing in a long line waiting to check-out. There were three workers. One working the cash register and two outside smoking. After multiple issues with not knowing how to work the register properly as each person checked out, the two workers outside smoking came back in. Talking on and on to the cashier about Wi-Fi providers, one of the ladies were using very crude, foul language.
This is not the first time this has happened with the way these employees talk around customers. Needless to say we will not be back to this store location.
Not to mention my mother entered her pin wrong for her debit card, so it was declined, and the cashier loudly let the other ladies know that her card was declined. Very bad service. So upset with the situation.
This happened on 12-31-2018 around 11:30 a.m.

Dollar General always getting rude comments when I walk in

I was getting a bowl of cereal and realized I had no milk it was getting late but I only live a min away from the local dg so I ran across the street and as soon as I walked in I hear this squeaky little voice say "you better hurry you only have one minute." Now it was on 957 so I knew they didn't close for three. I only needed milk. And it isn't my fault he did his safe count down early. So as I'm checking out I reminded this scrawny pony tail guy that I was a customer spending money and he said he didn't care I wasn't allowed in his store again. I totally felt harassed by a person that should be representing the store with wanting to make as much money as possible so I pledge to never spending another dollar in this store again as long as he remains in that store. His name is Damon of the Webberville dollar general in Michigan.

Dollar General store manager behavior

I need a full investigation of an incident that happened today 12/30/2018 at store located at 8105 Antoine Dr Houston, TX. 77088. I went to the store for regular shopping at DG on Antoine as I'm a daily customer, and was met with a long line. When I finally got to the register a customer forgot an item and directed her son to go back and get soda. I gave her mine as the son had taken longer than the cashier did to ring it up, and was instructed to not help anyone or offer any of my product in the line. I was shocked, but continued with my purchase. The cashier began to ring my grocery and made fun of me for offering my soda to the customer before, and demanded I move for the elderly customer behind me. No value at the counter! After the purchase was complete, I was then accused of using a counterfeit bill. The money was looked into by 2 employees, and one said it was up to the other. The money machine showed a watermark as stated by the Hispanic employee. The employee then threatened to call the police on me, and demanded I leave the store. An elderly woman was the next person in Iine paid for the grocery, but not before I let GEO (the name on the tag); but I know she is the current store manager because I visit frequently, that I would call corporate and the GM of her district. I also let her know that she was accusing me of a federal offense, and robbing me of money taken from the ATM. I'm also an ex employee that left on good terms! The money was shown to the CTV camera, and SSN should be shown. Investigate this to the furthest extent.
