Kirby john daniel fields, representative of kirby; money owed me

John (he first of all told us his name was Phillip he said he used this fake name cause it was busy. He didn't want people to know his real name). sold us a Kirby and told us about a Kirby store he wanted to open up in Guthrie, OK. We gave him money over a year ago to help him out, and we are still waiting on the rest of our money He is a smooth talker and I don't know how many more people he has done this to. This is Giving Kirby a bad name. I will never talk to another Kirby representative again or let into my house

Kirby my kirby vacuum

On May 2 I had 2 people come to my house to clean a carpet in my home I thought. That's what they told me on the phone! Then they spent hours pressuring me to buy this vacuum that I did not need or want! I kept telling them that I have a house keeper but I had to get them out of my house so I gave in after the lady kept calling the office and giving a better deal and over and over again! Then the next night they came back again because they had all the information wrong and had to re due paper work' I take care of my mother with dementia and is on dialysis and my mother had a stroke and I ended up in the hospital with her for 3 days. I called Kirby and they took all my information and told me that someone will get back to me, after another 2 days I called jp industries at 8068590541 and the lady told me there was nothing she could do because the contract states within 3 days you cannot cancel now its too late! I never had time to read contract and ended up in the hospital with my mother. I cant believe there isn't at least a 30 day satisfaction guarantee! I never used the heavy and hard to work vacuum!

Your first mistake was letting strangers in your home. Your next mistake was not calling the police to have them removed. Yes, Kirby only allows 3 days to cancel the contract and actually that's not their rule, it's Federal Law. They don't bother to mention that because they don't want you to try to cancel until it's too late.

Kirby kirby door to door

I'm needing information to the local Kirby distributor. Saturday evening 3/17/18, I had 2 guys pull through my yard to the back of my house. One of them opened my screen in porch door, walked in and knocked on the back door of my home. I confronted them from my side porch which is obvious that this is the door someone would knock on to sale something. One guy, holding a role of paper towels, asked if I heard of Kirby. I didn't give them much of an opportunity to say anything else. I ran them off. I want to make sure that they where there to sale a vacuum and if they were, they have no business entering in the screened porch and driving over my lawn that I just spent money to reseed. I have photos of them and the car and the licenses plate number.

You should notify the police to be on the lookout for this van. They could be casing homes.

Kirby customer service

A man named luke was the boss and he was training some guy. He left the guy to do the work. He did an AMAZING JOB. Then the boss came back and walked into our home and said "i need a drink. Water please." Very rudly and COCKy. He walked around our kitchen like it was out home, told us to let him use our phone charger, and had to wait at our home untill he got a ride to pick him up. The training guy, alex, was very helpful on informing us about the product. But his boss however, was an [censor]. And for that reason, i will NEVER purchase from this company.

Kirby kirby avilar g10d

I purchased 2 Kirby vacuums a couple months ago from a door to door sales lady. I have no complaints about the system however I am very unhappy with a few things that were not disclosed at the time of sale.
We purchased 2 with the intentions of selling one to help pay for the first because there was a deal of buy one get one at a lesser price. We even told the agent that we may seem the second on eBay or Craigslist. She informed us we were able to do this. Apparently that is not the case because when I listed it the Kirby company was very quick to send me a message telling this was against the "rules". So now I'm stuck with 2 Kirby systems!
Also she said someone would contact us about 3 weeks after we bought it to teach us how to use the shampoo system and I haven't heard from anyone her and it's been 2 months. Still waiting to use it to wash my rugs which was the biggest reason I bought it. Honestly if I would go back in time I wouldn't have made this purchase! And if anyone was to ask I would tell them my experience.

Kirby kirby vacuums door to door

My third week into job and still no pay. Today I ask free for ky check and sup tells me "you must do 15 presentations in order to make $500 offered"
Problem is they never mentioned that part during orientation. Only talked about the potential money I can make if I close 2 or 3 sales. They dropped me off in an economically challenged neighborhood and expect me to make 15 presentations?

I worked for free.

Kirby kirby vacuum/ shampooer

I purchased a Kirby Avilir shampooer/ vacuum in Feb. 2016. A few months after I bought it, the shampooer stopped extracting water back out of the carpet after I applied shampoo/ water solution, leaving my carpet a wet mess! I contacted a local repair person, who advised me that that is a common problem with Kirby shampooers. I financed the thing and am still paying $77.00 per month (taken directly out of my checking acct.) and will be for another 6 months. I can never get in touch with the local Kirby rep. and the only other person from Kirby tells me I didn't put enough shampoo in the tank. At this point I can't use it at all, but don't know if I can sue in small claims court or not.

Kirby Kirby is a well known scam

Apr 2016

A nearly identical experience to everyone else.
-Gain access to your home under false pretenses. I got the same 'free one room carpet cleaning' line they favor. Of course this is a lie to get them in the door.
-some nonsense about a contest they are about to win. This is pathetic and is the same incentive that comes with children's cookie sales at school.
-their '20 minute' demo becomes a 3 hours marathon trying to get you to buy simply to get these people out of your home.
-show up right before dinner so that hours later you haven't been able to eat, kids need help with their homework, etc-- again, trying to get you to buy out of desperation to get your home back.
-the person at the door was a pleasant young lady, only to be replaced with a greasy salesman and an ex-convict cleaner guy.
-No joke in that last one, the cleaner guy with the jailhouse tattoos on his hands and neck ADMITTED TO BEING A FELON STILL ON PROBATION. I don't judge the person here, but it's the height of unprofessional business practices to hire someone with a record and still on probation to enter people's homes.
-Both cleaner guy and sales guy made several obviously fake phone calls to some mysterious boss. These are comical. These are actually aimed at YOU, since all they do is put words in your mouth about how much you just love the product. "Yes sir, he says he loves the machine" "oh he can't believe how well it works" None of which I actually said. But this is aimed to build 'evidence' that you like the machine so that you have to explain yourself as to why you aren't buying one.
-Once the sales guy returned to collect his convict, he launched directly into more sales pitch despite my increasing anger at having been lied to already. Total lack of respect.
-I live in an apartment complex and later checked with the property manager who confirmed they did not have permission to solicit here. The property management company will be filing charges for trespassing.

After kicking them out, I did some research and found out just how disreputable of a company kirby actually is.

-kirby uses front companies to insulate themselves from legal action over their sales scam.
-kirby vacuums are known to break within a month of purchase, which then runs customers into the completely worthless warranty that doesn't actually cover anything useful.
-kirby makes it impossible to even reach them within the 3 day cancellation policy deadline. (If you do need to cancel an order, make sure to use certified mail or some other method of tracking exactly when it was sent.
-financing a machine will be at over 20%, I've seen upwards of 29% interest.
-often the financing paperwork will be for the full multi-thousand dollar price instead of the agreed upon lowered price.
-kirby salesmen often specifically target the elderly, and even people with mental incapacity like Alzheimer's.
-once someone agrees to purchase, the kirby people STEAL YOUR ORIGINAL VACUUM. There is no mention of a 'trade in' for the purchase of the kirby. This is literally theft. But it's to discourage people from cancelling their purchase because now you're also out your original vacuum and must spend even more to purchase another.
-follow on items like bags and filters cost 10-20x what normal vacuum parts cost.

Kirby doesn't just rip off the customer, but also famously rips off their own employees. They use the same deceitful advertising to lure in what is essentially free labor that they use to sucker people into buying their crap vacuum.

Kirby is a criminal enterprise from top to bottom. Do not let these people into your homes. Call the police if you see them in your neighborhood because many times they are using access to case your house for a later robbery.
Contact your local news channel- many have a segment about consumer protection. Expose these people for what they are as much as possible.

Be careful.

Kirby Salesman

I made the mistake of letting a door to door salesman in our house and let him do all his stuff they do to show you how much better Kirby is than your vaccum. All went well until he was going to do the mattress. He put the vacuum brush on the pillow top and the brush chewed up a strip about 18 in long.Needless he sort of lost interest in anything but getting done and out of the house.Knowing they most likely had no damage insurance I didn't attempt to get anything done about the mattress damage. This happened Sunday 1-3-2016'

Kirby - Lifetime warranty

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that my vacuum was sold with a lifetime warranty! Kirby would have me believe that I was mistaken... No one will spend $2600.00 hard earned dollars for a vacuum unless it offers a lifetime warranty. Having said that, I have no choice but to file a lawsuit against the company and am seeking others who have been wronged...

Kirby Deceitful practices

I was recently offered a free carpet cleaning from a company that claimed to be new in the area and wanting to demonstrate their new system. I was told that they would do one room, any size and that it would take an hour. I was told that the method used would leave the carpet dry enough to walk on immediately and completely dry within one hour. It sounded (and was) too good to be true. Kirby vacuum was never mentioned.

Imagine my surprise when 2 Kirby representatives showed up and proceeded to give me a THREE HOUR presentation and hard sell of their vacuum. I repeatedly told them that I would never buy such a high priced machine, but they continued onward in a very rude way. When I finally told them that I had to leave for another appointment and asked when they would be done shampooing the carpet, they said that they had done as much as they intended to do. They had completed only a 2 ft. by 6 ft. area of the room. I was initially angry that they had not done what they said they would do, but later I was glad. The area that they shampooed was saturated, and was still damp after using old towels to mop up the extra moisture and having directed fans blowing on it for two days. There was a definite soapy residue left after it finally dried, and I am afraid that the carpet is permanently damaged.

Beware of salesmen offering free carpet cleaning, even if they don't mention the Kirby name. They will use any tactics to get into your home, and once they are there, they will not leave unless forced. I will never let them into my home again.

Kirby Horrible Job

I worked for Kirby,
First of all, ANYONE and everyone gets hired. I found this to be because the turn-over rate is OUTRAGEOUS. I didn't have a car and had to take a bus 2-1/2 hours to get to work every single day. Yes we were to work 7 days a week and there was no "clock-out" time, you finished your day when your "driver-leader" decided that they were done. Most of the time I got there at 7AM and didn't get back to the branch until 10PM. Mind you there are NO breaks, you don't get to stop for food, you must bring your own, and the only time to eat if you brought food or if someone was kind enough to share was while you were driving to your next selling area. Now, hairs the other thing. They have "door-knockers" people who go and set appointments for you the "show-cares" to go and show the vacuum. Now unless you NEVER wanted to sell anything or if you wanted to share your profit if the "door-knockers" DID actually set you an appointment (yes that's right if they got you an appointment and you sold something they got a slice of the money just for getting you in the door) and they NEVER set appointments mainly because they got paid regardless, weather you sell or no one does! So if you were like me, you walked ALL day long getting doors slammed in your face, or vacuuming homes for free to show a 1500$ you knew they never wanted or CLEARLY couldn't afford. Which leads me to the next issues. The drives always took us to very low income area where people CLEARLY couldn't afford these things! Also, your driver-leader would come in if you were close to making a sell, and finish the sell for you, and this is where is got really frustrating, after you up-show this thing make it TOTALLY worth the 1500$ 3 yr 150$ finance plan they come in and cut whatever you told them IN HALF! not only do you look like a but you lose all of that money you could have made just so that they could MAKE SURE with out a doubt this person bought it and they could mark on their little sheet that THEY sold another vacuum, after did all the work.
It got to the point, where "knocked myself in" meaning I didn't need anyone to get me into houses or set appointments, I was able to show the machine and taught myself how to fill out the paperwork to finalize a sell, just to make sure that I was able to maybe get some sort of money.
Now, hears the thing. The people who don't knock on doors, or drive the stupid van and finalize the sells, the people who show the product do the hard work, if you didn't sell a certain amount of vacuums per-2 weeks...you didn't get paid...
Now, I sold 5 vacuums in 1 month the first month i worked there, I'd like to think it's because I honestly needed the money, am a great saleswomen, and my looks helped people feel comfortable letting me into their homes. Now I can't remember at what price each of them I sold were but I ended up quitting because after a month of working 30 straight days, sometimes sleeping in the office because it was too late to catch a bus home, losing 5 pounds from being too broke to afford food and working 13-15 hour days I still didn't get paid a dime...
They did things to make me feel good like had me stand in front of my co-workers as they clapped and asked me to tell them how I made a sell, and how I was able to knock myself into their house without needing help, then they would give me a goodies, like a perfumer set from Walmart, or have me grab from the " pig" which was full of pieces of scratch paper and 1$ bills anytime i made a sell they would do this. They also did this all the time for me because I would knock myself into so many houses that I would give away some of my appointments to others who didn't or couldn't do it.
The first couple of times I enjoyed it. Felt good because all of my co-workers were just as new as me expect the drivers/leaders (they were a new branch) so it felt good being able to share what I knew to try and help. But then...the 2 week no one but me and one of the leaders were selling, and during our morning meetings when I got all the goodies and shared my tells, these meetings turned into down putting, awful meetings, using me as a tool. "Why can't you guys brush your hair, put on a smile and try like (me) does" says the manager/team leader
So finally I broke out during a meeting saying I needed to talk to someone
I was pulled aside and told my manager I haven't been paid I can't make it to work because I can't afford bus fair and I am getting sick from lack of sleep and he handed me a 20$ told me to go get some food next door and when we got back from our driving today he would take me home and buy me some bus tickets. I lost it, I ran out told all my co-workers what had happened, gave the homeless girl who slept outside anywhere near the branch she could to get to work, and begged from a ride home, I was given a ride home, and 10 other people quit with me, I got home borrowed my fathers car, bagged up a bunch of clothes that didn't fit or I could spare, while my mother bagged up veggies fruites and drinks. I drove back and picked up my first car load to take people home when I retuened from more the cops were there to let me know that I was no allowed or I was be tresspassing, the others had no problem waiting down the street from me to come and get them...it was so sad.

it took them 2 months to get me my paycheck which i sold 5 vaccumes anywhere from [protected]$ and I was given 140$...

Kirby Sales

Two random guys just showed up at my house trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner. They said they were from Kirby, but their "business card" says otherwise, they are from Shy Enterprises. They wanted to come inside and demonstrate their vacuum, which of course i am WAY too smart to allow. I told them no thank you, made reference to my dog (who thank God has a very loud bark, and seemed to make these kids a tad nervous). They kept talking, trying a few of the "it'll only take a minute", "please, we just have to do one more demo to make our quota for the night", "Even if you choose not to buy a vacuum tonight, you can see our demo and keep us in mind in the future" type lines. they smiled nice, and weren't "rude" per-se but they didn't seem to want to take no for an answer, and it was 8:15pm, I was trying to put my daughter to bed, I finally just told them, "Look you have to leave, I'm sorry, I'm not interested" and closed and locked the door. After a few minutes, I looked out -- and they were sitting out on the street in their van for several minutes (almost 10) and I was about to call the cops, and they finally left.

I cannot imagine Kirby is selling ANY vacuums this way. This is insane. No one I've encountered has had a good review of these people. They are majorly creepy and made me feel REALLY uncomfortable (A woman, home alone with my young child...i was way creeped out!)

Kirby Wouldn't leave my house when ask to do so.

My wife invited a guy to come do a free cleaning on our carpets didn't tell us he was a salesman for kirby Vacuums. He was a nice guy but, he took three hours to do his demonstration of the Vaccum. By this time I was getting really irritated since my wife and I had three children to feed, homework and get ready for bed. I was getting my youngest ready for bed and I heard another person come into my home. The salesman let another salesman in my house. Then the Salesman came in my house and was pressuring my wife to buy the vaccuum at this point I told them to leave my home. So the next thing the Owner or salesman the man wearing the nice suit flipped out and started accussing me of being awful father and that I was a awful person. I told them both to get out of my house but, the Salesman in the suit lunged toward me as if he was going to physically assault me in my own home. The Salesman in the suit did this three times after I told him I was going to call the sheriff if he didn't get out my house. I called the sheriff after they left and filed a report on them so this will not happen to anyone else. I will not ever buy any of Kribys products or let any of this company salesman into my house again. They are very unprofessional and cant deal with being rejected.

Kirby Verbal Agreement

I was working with a dealer representative who is on my team, we had a few scheduled appointment's throughout our day to those who were interested in a free deep clean and shampoo. Before we left our office, a dealer representative and I was told by Mark Leppo (my boss) "If you sell any Kirby today, I am giving a 50/50 split profit to the both of you. Meaning that if you sell a Kirby at full price, you both split $1100. $550 for the both of you. Ok?" and then we both agreed and carried on.

We sell a Kirby at full price later that day. $2400--

Our field supervisor calls my partner after us selling a Kirby to an Amish home, and says. "Great, you both made $550 on that deal." So, for the past few days I've been excited and telling everyone who matters to me that I've made $550 today. I receive no phone call from Mark or his field supervisor about a change of pay as of this date.

Before I went to bed last night I wanted to call my partner to verify the sale, and to verify the amount of $ I was being paid. I had him agreeing that Mark Leppo told us that morning it was a 50/50 split deal. He wanted to make sure that our pay was correct, so my partner called our field supervisor that night.

The dealer representative then tells me that I am only getting 10% of that deal, because I was still training and that Mark was not aware of the fact that i'm 2 weeks new to the business. This was according to a conversation made by my partner dealer rep and field supervisor on my so called "team".

Mark Leppo of Distinktive Solutions, Inc. is currently ripping me off and stealing $300 out of my paycheck.

My field supervisor and Mark Leppo are doing this intentionally. There are no money mistakes, when business is involved.

"regardless of your background," did have 1 or 2 exceptions, still does... like when tier 1 sex offenders lie on job applications, for instance.
"assault, 20+ years ago," has a very different ring to it, if one were to compare it to, say, "aggravated indecent assault," or the 2-3 additional sex offenses that captain comments was charged with, and convicted of.
These guys don't just "play the victim"... it's a finely polished routine, a defense mechanism, reoccurring role that they've won like 5-6 emmys a piece for.
As for the other felon that managed to squeak through the cracks (his offenses weren't megan's law related, fyi)-
Taking hearsay, and turning it into gospel, especially when it comes to money, generally causes problems. this thread was started before the individual even attempted to contact the only person that had direct control over the amounts that appear on paychecks. I know we're going back some years, but still, shame on both of you guys for messing with that poor kid. he got every cent that was promised; despite the fact that the above mentioned 'partner' (manager that accompanied him into the demonstration appointment) kicked and screamed about it. this 'partner' was mainly empathizing with the poor lady (customer), however, who had to endure having dirt samples literally waved several inches from her face, by the person that posted this, before he finally got control over the situation and got the kid to sit down and shut up. our organization has never/will never condoned tactics of this nature. mistreating independent contractors or customers in this manner is not how companies manage to stay in business for over a century; ours has.

I've worked with that company and Marc. Let me tell you what they promise isn't always done. Was told I'd have a job regardless of my past and shortly after working with the company and earning decent money, I was fired cause my background wasn't right. 24 year old record made me lose my job

Kirby Solomon Distributing

Worst group of people to walk to earth not only do they lie to you but they cheat you on pay. I'm complaining here because trying to talk to Shirley doesn't work she doesn't care who she hurts as long as she is getting paid. All of the people under her do drugs most while on the job. They also steal from you. I expect someone to get deal with this my next step is involving the police.

Kirby Very bad customer service

No call backs on 4 call place and order for sweeper bags said order will be placed 3 weeks later nothing.

Purchased a Kirby sweeper from salesman. Bruce Mastrean on 9/18/12. He came to my door and demonstrated the sweeper everything good, after demo he told me instead of calling the 1-800 number for sweeper bags I was to call his office in washington, and the bags would be delivered with no shipping.

First time I had to order the bags was 1112/12, talk to a gentleman Tom I think that was his name, he took the order and said someone would drop off the bags, on 11/20/12 still no bags, called back and talked to Paula she said she didn’t have the order, so placed order with her on that day she was very ignorant to me, I asked her when the bags would be delivered, very nastly she said when they get there, now this is going on 2 weeks with no bags, I explained to her what Bruce had said to me about delivering them when I needed them she didn’t seem to care, very poor customer service.

So after that call I called the 1-800–437-7170, and told her the problem she told me not to deal with my local Kirby dealer, she told my order and I got the bags 5 days later, if the salesman would not have promised to deliver the bags I would have called the 1-800 number in the first place, It took me almost a month to get sweeper bags, which is very unacceptable being I have 4 dogs and need to run my sweeper every other day. It was a very nasty experience for me and I wish I never opened my door for that salesman, oh and the first time I spoke to paula I ask her to have the salesmen call me and he never did, and that’s a shame because I love the sweeper,

as of 12/6/12 still no call from the local office, and paula from the complaint department also in so many words called me a liar, stating I didn’t have anything in writing from the salesman about delivering the sweeper bags. I drive a bus so I know about customer service, and Paula and and the people at the local offfice need training on how to handle customers, I mean I’m paying 2500.00 for this sweeper, the should be able to do what they promised me, and I don’t like being treated as nasty as they treated me, I’m glad I did not refer anyone to them, and will never .

The complaint department said they would call the local office and inform them that I was going to file a complaint with the better business bureau, you think they would have called and apologized or something, I’ve heard nothing, On a rating of 1 to 10 on customer service the receive below 0.
