I too fell for this scam. Bold print references FREE credit check in return for a $1 charge on your credit card. I do not doubt that there is fine print somewhere on their website referencing their automatic membership enrollment, but it is not easily noted. I missed it the first month so they got me for two $39.95 charges before I terminated the account. This is an unethical business practice and I see that it has been going on for quite some time now.

They are a rip off. They charge to your credit card and then when you complain you do not get a refund. Never sign up for this service.

I was told by one person I would get a full refund and then by another person that Corporate refused to give the refund and when I asked to be connected to corporate or get a number for Corporate I was told that they had no connection info for Corporate which to me sounds illegal so If anyone else wants to start a class action against them I will be willing to sign in to protect other people from these scam artists and thieves

I had the same problem with them. The guy at the bank had to cancel my debit card and replaced it with a brand new one just so they cant take out any more money from me. Same problem...they claim that i'd joined their site and have an account with them, and they charged me 1 dollar and never refunded me that one, which of course you will not fight for but it shows who you're dealing with. Then she said that i received an email saying that it is only a free 7 day trial that was for free, and those 7 days had passed and then they charged me $29.95. Then i called them back and i said that if you want to charge me for that one service that's fine (even thought i think they should not) but you should refund me for the 2 weeks that i paid for. The account was active for only 2 weeks. That is not the way to to business. I paid for something i did not use. Also, the report was written in very fine print, and the email so you can easily miss the notification about their charge.

SCORE SENSE IS A SCAM! THEY HAD TAKEN 6 PAYMENT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT I NEVER USED, I ONLY FOUND OUT BECAUSE IN JAN.2013 MY ACCOUNT WAS LOW I HAD 36.00 IN MY ACCOUNT AND I CHECKED AGAIN IT SAID 6.05 SO $29.95 WAS TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT SO I CALLED MY CARD TO SEE WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THATS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT SCORE SENSE BEEN TAKING MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR 6 MONTHS.8-12 THRU 1-13. THEY REFUNDED ME FOUR 10-12 THRU 1-13, I KEEP CALLING TO GET MY 8-12, AND 9-12 MONEY REFUNDED BACK BUT THEY KEEP ON DENYING IT . IF I WAS IN THE WRONG WHY DID THEY REFUNDED ME 4 PAYMENTS? TIME TO GO TO COURT! MS.CEE

Say what you want it's a scam! I spoke to Jerron and told him that it was a scam! He promised me a refund but it never came. I have also placed reviews on every website I could find attached to this company! Also they go under the name of Credit Karma.com! I put it on my facebook page and I encourage everyone else who took a hit to do the same. I'm going to keep writing hopefully it will save somebody!

Yeah, I did make the mistake of doing the $1 thing---but then all of a sudden there is a $29.95 deduction from my account.
I went ballistic----I did a very through background check of the company--they operate out of a UPS Store maildrop on North Central Expressway in Dallas, Texas. I am still looking for the "operators" home address. I will keep you advised.
I filed fraud charges with both Visa and the Colorado Attorney General consumer Affairs office.
Within four days, I was refunded my money.
This company operates as Score Sense and Free Score.com, under the One Technologies, Inc. brand.
They have had as many as 1206 fraud complaints lodged against them sine they started operating.

Today i Received a bill for $29.95. I never used their service and called to let them know that i wanted to cancel my account. It was realy easy and only took about 5 mins. The only problem is now i have to wait 2-3 days to find out if i will get my money back or not. The woman i talked to told me that i did not complete my membership enrolment because i never called them in person to confirm my information. Hopefully i get my money back and dont have to take this any further. Thanks for the advise about going to the bank and reporting them as a fraudulent companie. i also fell for the same $1.00 reembust credit check trick. I am not happy with this service and would not recomend it to anyone. It is always better to deal with a person face to face and hand over your money than to wake up one day and check your statement and see that you got stabed for $29.95

According to the Terms and Conditions, you have to call their 1 800 number to cancel the service. Well, guess what, dear condescending commenters who for some reason, relate poor spelling to irresponsibility (quiz bee champions would make GREAT parents!), ScoreSense charged my on the 6th day of the free trial. I found out online. On the day itself. You know what that means? That means I have to call their 1 800 number and ask what happened and get them to cancel the charge. But surprise, surprise! It's not reachable 24/7. Now, that kind of customer service may be fine for you middle class folk who work at a 9-5 pace but not for me. $29.95 may be just spare change for you but not me.

I also have to disagree with these complaints. I'm a member of score sense, and I like the service. Credit reports updated online monthly, from all three, with scores, no hassles. Unlike a former company I used, where they'd give you just one, and then be sneaky about charging for the other two, and only calculate scores quarterly. I like some of the features of the website, and the million dollar insurance can't be beat.

I'm guessing based on the poor spelling and general ignorance of most of these complaints, that they were written by irresponsible consumers. A company can only do so much to make you aware that they're going to charge you, it's up to you to actually read the binding agreement. Or even just the email they sent me moments after completing registration, "welcome to score sense", with all the information about the trial period.

In regards to debby there... I'm guessing that you had already been charged before you cancelled the account, it usually takes an extra day or two for banks to post these things. That explains why the agent told you that you would lose all access to the site once your account was cancelled. And then you were nasty to the poor agent you spoke to, who probably didn't have enough information to support your refund request. That explains why you got such a weird form letter that obviously didn't apply to your situation. I did call center work in college, I can tell based on your attitude, you're one of those nightmare customers that just want to scream and argue. That's not going to help your case. And it's certainly not going to inspire the agent to go above and beyond for you. Use your brain instead of your anger, you'll be surprised by how much more smoothly your life goes.

Mr axsel, have you been living in a cave for the last twenty years? You never click on pop-ups!

I canceled my score sense and the next day they took another month payment out! I had already paid for the previous month this was for the following month .
when you call and cancel they tell you you are no longer able to use the website i have no problem with that, I said i already paid for next month i want my refund! i get a email Dear deborah,

After careful review of your ScoreSense account, we have determined that we're unable to approve your request for a refund for the charge of $29.95 that occurred on 7/23/2011. Your request was denied because you requested the refund after your initial free trial period expired or because there is not enough information to substantiate a fraud claim.

If you have any further questions, please call us at 1- (Monday through Friday 8 AM – 8 PM CST, Saturday 8 AM – 5 PM CST or Sunday 12 PM – 6 PM CST).

Sincerely,

ScoreSense Customer Care
now tell me if i already used my free trial already paid a month in advanced and then cancel before my new monthly bill they take it out anyways and say i am denied? called again oh i am sorry i will resubmit it again just to get me off the phone!

I disagree with the negative comments. ScoreSense offers a really nice service. Free credit reports every month along with alerts for potential identity theft. Additionally, they give you $1, 000, 000 dollars of identity theft insurance, which reimburses legal fees associated with obtaining your identity and fixing your credit report, along with any unrecoverd funds you lose from theft. Other sites don't insure your money for that much, most of them just offer to assist with the recovery process. The original fee of $30 is a little steep, but after a 5 minute phone call to their customer service they reduced the rate to $9.95 per month. Is it dishonest to charge $30 from the start when they're willing to lower it 66%?...no, it's all a part of the negotiation process. All businesses negotiate, and they always start high.

Well I have to stick up for ScoreSense.com. I'm a customer of theirs for a number of months now and their service is great! I get all 3 credit bureau reports and all 3 scores EVERY month as oppose to another service I had where it was every 3 months..and ScoreSense costs less! They only charge me $9.95 a month which is automatically taken from my account no problem.
Now I did sign up for a free trial, or maybe it was $1, I don't remember...but what these other people obviously don't know how to read is the fine print..the TERMS AND CONDITIONS..duh!, you always read that before signing up for anything! How dumb can you be?!

That just really irritates me that people post online a negative review about a company when it's actually the customer who didn't read what was simply right there in front of them! It specifically states that you'll get charged $1, or free trial, whatever the offer may be at that time, and then after the trial period ends, which is usually 30 days but sometimes it's like 2 weeks, then you'll get charged the regular monthly fee to continue the service and keep getting your credit reports and scores updated monthly...OR you can cancel and not get charged! OR if you forget and you do get charged then you just CALL and they will refund you...it's that SIMPLE! Now I do remember when I was in my trial period I knew that the monthly amount was going to be like $30 or $40 a month, something like that, and I knew that was expensive because my last service was $12.99/mo but again that was to get my reports every 3 months and I wanted a place that did monthly...so when I called to say I wanted to cancel my trial before I got charged because their price was too high, she offered to lower it down to $9.95 a month woooohoooo! So I am very happy with ScoreSense.com and my fiancée also uses them too and we get our credit reports and scores every month and we love it! So I completely disagree with the negative posts on here because it's not the company's fault..and you'll see that you should get your money back no problem..you could've just called them in the first place and explained the situation.

Have a good day.

I was applying for unemployment insurance online in billings mt and there was a popup that said free one time credit report for $1.00 and that would be refunded. Well gess what happened next. Yep they helped them selves to my bank acct and not just the $1.00 but $29, 95 and that was on 4-48-11 and now again today for another $29.95 and now im out $60 dollars for a service that i never wanted or asked for so heres what i did. Icontacted my banker and reported the fraud and i will be reinbused the money and i have also reported them to the online site that they advertise on (www.mt.gov/unemploment insurance) and let them in on the fraud. they are take advantage of people that have to depend on there small weekly checks as it is. They missed wiyh the wrong bank acct. I will pursue this company and i will not except anything less than $58.90 and thats letting them keep the $1.00 that was agreed upon and that was to be returned. So there you have it. Not Happy with the way i was trick into giveing up my cc # again the a company that is supposed to looking out for me. So thay claim
