Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how SmileBox handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with SmileBox and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

SmileBox Online purchases

This is a horrible company to give your credit card info too.
Two years ago my 2 yr old grandson passed away and my 30+ year old daughter had some memorial things made up for his funeral. She used my credit card info. to pay for memorial items. Last year Jan 2016 I get a annual charge of $48 and challenge the charge and get a $48 credit. To my amazement Jan 2017 I get another charge. Go through the e-mail Smilebox system only to be told it has been 7 days and they can not clear charge. I had contacted them 9 days previous and it took them all that time to give me the 7 day answer

SmileBox I was charged without authorizing.

I was trying to do a slide show for my Dad's memorial service. I signed up for the free trial. Once I figured out that the product SmileBox offers was completely unusable for my needs, I cancelled. A week and a half later, I have been charged 47.88 for something I never wanted. Now I can't log in to my account, and the site says I can't re-set my password. I have emailed the company and filed a fraud complaint with PayPal.

SmileBox Extra charges

I downloaded this SmileBox app and made a few cards there. I was not impressed so I deleted SmileBox from my PC.
One month passed and I already forgot about this site, until they day when I noticed that $50 disappeared from my card. I found out that it was SmileBox who charged me. So I went online and contacted these guys, they said that it was my fault that I did not read their terms and conditions. They refused to refund my money and continued to blame me.
Then I contacted PayPal and reported these guys. I also left several feedback online. These guys never gave my money back.
Stay far away from this money stealing scam!

SmileBox Be careful!

My son asked if she could buy an e-card for his aunt. I allowed him to do that because it was very cheap. Only $5. Soon we received and email that company received our money and the card was posted. It was silly of me, but I didn't red the whole message, only the first part of it. About three weeks later my credit card was charged $60. I called the customer service and they told that $60 was for an annual membership. But I didn't sign for any memberships. I watched my son purchase the e-card and there was nothing mentioned about it on the site. I was sure we did not agree to that. I checked the site again and found the information about it at the bottom of the site. It stated that if I did not respond their email within two weeks they would charge my card. We bought that card and automatically got a trial membership. I asked them to cancel my membership but they rejected. They said that they will cancel it after a year and will not refund the membership.

SmileBox Seller avoided us and hadn't delivered the order

My sister told me that she bought greetings cards from www.smilebox.com. She told me that she has paid extra sum for the faster delivery, so we wouldn’t have any problems. But we had them, because these cards weren’t delivered on time. We knew only seller’s email and we started to bombard him with the emails and requests, but it was completely useless. He hasn’t reacted or provided any help. Don’t buy from this website.

SmileBox They didn't provide the order and better don't pay them in advance

I choose the design and added my photos on the website www.smilebox.com. After that I got the email from the company. They asked to pay for the order on time, and I went and made the payment. After that I heard a lot of promises about the delivery, but nothing happened. I have no idea where my order is and the seller continues to provide some ###. These people are scammers and liars, who take money and provide nothing. Please post your comments about this company.

SmileBox withdrawal from my bank account

I decided to join Smilebox for a month. I sent a card to my sister, and thought nothing more of it until I accessed my bank account this morning, to find that Smilebox had withdrawn $42 + dollars from my account. After going through the 'Unsubscribe / Cancel Account ' process, I find that the $42+ is NOT refundable. I would NEVER pay $42 a year to send E cards. I am disgusted with this deceptive practice; $3.33 on a month by month basis is reasonable. Being charged for a full year when I SPECIFICALLY chose one month service really hurts! I am on an extremely limited income. Beware of Smilebox! They've certainly taken my smile away. CD, Chewelah, WA

SmileBox Still charged even after cancelling

I signed up for a trial, checked out the service and within a few days sent two cancellation emails. I received no response. Their Facebook page has a post that says to cancel your account send an email to support, which I did twice. Since they do not have a phone number, I was not able to find out whether I should have received a response back or if they do not send a confirmation back. Low and behold, they charged my card for their monthly fee. When contacting support, their representative was extremely rude.
I checked with the BBB and turns out they have a lot of complaints and a low score. Do not signup with this company.

I have cancelled my smile box last year in Aug. 2018 and still they are charging it to my credit card! I cancelled again in May of 2019 and still are charging to my credit card.

Exactly the same things happened to me, they have taken my money and when cancelled within the period they won't give me my money back and when I asked for an email to complain they sent an email back saying 'please refer to previous email, we consider this matter closed'! Awful service and a scam DO NOT give them your details!

The same thing happened to me as posted above! This company is a complete scam! Do not think "free trial" means ""FREE"! It's unbelievable that companies like this are allowed to operate!
Do not make the same mistake & install a free app!
