Spokeo unauthorized charges on my card

I agreed on charging something like a dollar this one time on December and now I check my account and find out SPK Spokeo is charging me for something I didnt agree for like $25 and I haven't even been on their website since that one time. I never Ever agreed on automatic payments or nothing it was just this one time. Please cancell this operation I never agreed on.

Spokeo unauthorized credit card charges

On November 11, 2018 I called and canceled a"Service" for Flogames (whatever that might be). The cancellation reference number is [protected]. Unfortunately I do not check credit card activity very often--I was paying $19.95 a month since November 2016.
Whatever Flogames might be I have never used it. I received 3 credits on November 12th for $9.98. I am expecting a full credit, please.

I realized that I was being charged 19.95 monthly for a service I never used. At first they couldn't even find my account and told me I had no account with them with the bank info they were taking money with each month. I was only offered less then a 10% refund for the amount they took from my bank without ever using the service! They are a SCAM! I was finally offered a 15% discount. Still not happy I was sent to maganment which just told me my subscription was canceled. Perfect! But I want to be refunded! They have been no help and just keep saying that I will no longer be billed. SCAM! I asked the girl how many unhappy customer calls she got a day! I'm sure it is a ton! Robbery at its finest! They offer free searches or .99 cent then bill you for 20 dollars a month until you catch it on your bank statement.

Spokeo .95 one time charge turned into $19.99 reoccurring charge?

I used spokeo to confirm an address I wrote down incorrectly, a one time charge of .95 is what I paid for. I used it one time and upon reviewing my debit charges noticed a $19.99 reoccurring charge! I called and Asia was very nice on the phone but refused to credit me my $19.99. After reviewing this company I now know it's a scam... I will blow them up with negative review everywhere.

Your company obviously does not understand or care if this is an issue for your customers. Keep my hard earned $20 and I’ll do as I said and trash you as a scam every chance I get. I’m sure it doesn’t matter as you are keeping this money and not refunding as a stand up company would do. By the way, I have called the “customer care team” and they could care less, almost as if they are trained and directed to inform the customers that you would rather deal with someone like me than refund the $20 back and perhaps have a repeat customer.

I have never used spokeo before and I was charged on my credit card for more than 1 year until i discovered.

I emailed them but they ignored. Careful.

Spokeo phone number lookup

this site is awful. they claim to be open 24 hours yet never seem to answer my calls. i used their services ONCE and got no results, except for the information the caller ID already gave me. and now i see they have been billing me $25 a month? not what i signed up for. i demand my money back.

save yourself the stress and headache, never use this site.

Spokeo charging my account for years for service I did not ask for

I pay my credit card on-line and have paperless billing. I just happened to look at recent transactions this month and noticed Spokeo has been charging me, not once, but TWICE a month for at least a year and half. One time for $9.97 and a few days later for $19.97. EVERY MONTH! I never agreed to this subscription or agreement or whatever it is and have never used it.

Whilst I employed Spokeo for a few months and it was good thank you but I have tried to cancel my account on a few occasions now months shin but still you are making withdrawals.

Spokeo stolen card and laptop

My card and laptop was stolen and I believe they have made a payment to spikeo? This was not me, I did not give permission and I would like my money back? As I said I did not give permission, and I will ask my bank too, as I have ordered a new card, they must of tried spokeo to see if there was money in there I'm not sure why but it was not me and I have very little money and need that to feed my children.

Spokeo I am complaining about the lack of factual statistics that you try to charge people money to get information that is wrong misleading or in accurate

Obviously you are a large business of california but do you need to make $.95 to give someone a yellow page phone number and name? Your ad says all of these shocking records will be pulled up and all I need to do is give you $.95. You're freaking [censored] and not even a mediocre internet business! Figure out a way to get revenue like every time I think maybe instead of pretending to be some company that knows personal details and will sell them to anyone for a quarter. Pathetic and definitely far from the better business bureau. Spokeo spam

Will ever Spokeo leave me alone or not? I never wanted to use their service, moreover, I never subscribed to them, because I had no idea about this service, however, somehow I was subscribed and now I get their emails every day stating they have some information about me; emails usually contain small attachments and you know what? It's my name and last name, my date of birth, but everything else is just a lie. I don't know where they got it and why. Tried to unsubscribe. Didn't work. Customer service is non-existent. I hope you will burn in hell.

Spokeo cancellation of service no longer wanted

I am offering this e-mail communication as my official request to end this service.I have instructed my credit card company to withhold further payment to you for such service.I will also forward a copy of this communique to them for their records.I am hopeful that your company will reply to this directive from me and take the necessary action to comply.The date of the first dispute occurred on or about September 14, 2017 and has continued to this date going forward.I look forward to an early and quick resolution of this problem.Again the problem being that I do not wish a continuance of this service.I intend to forward a copy of this memorandum to the credit card company to keep them in the loop regarding the resolution or lack of same.They have been instructed to withhold any further payment until I have been accommodated by Spokeo with some form of official notification of service termination.Please respond to this termination request at your earliest convenience.

Spokeo unauthorized credit card charges

I went on the spk spokeo site and it said I had to prove I was 18 and they asked me for my credit card information to prove that I was over the age of 18 to let me on there site so I gave them my credit card details and got on the site I was on the site for not even 5 miniutes becase I did not no how to use it as im not a computer exspert im just a beginner I only no the basic how to turn it on and get on the internet I went on my online banking account and noticed they had taken £23.72 out on the 04/05/2017 and £1.25 out on the 04/05/2017 as well I did not give them any authorization to take any money out of my bank account at all I want to claim a full refund of the money they took out of my bank account

Yea I’ve never heard of this company before and got charged 25.95 on June 25, 2021 at 4: am… it was almost the last of my money and I’d like what ever you think your taking money for to be Reimbursed a.s.a.p and taken off your billing cycle and never charged again

Today I received notification that SPOKEO is billing my credit card. I had to look up the service to see what it was. I then disputed the charge on my credit card. At the suggestion of Amex, I called Spokeo to let them know what was happening. They refused to help me unless I verified my credit card information which was billed. How stupid is that? I'm not giving the people who are abusing my credit card verification they got it right. In the process of filing a BBB complaint.

Spokeo membership

Date: 4/2/2017

Spokeo flagged my account as being in violation of their TOS, then banned me for life, all because I answered a survey question in 3 seconds without understanding it was a lifetime binding contract.

Upon logging in, I presented with what I interpreted as a survey, and responded with the reasons I believed Spokeo would be useful to people. One of my responses included, "tenant screening, " which is a violation of their TOS. The problem is this: I never used Spokeo for tenant screening and never would (that is what credit reports and criminal background checks are for). Mostly, I used Spokeo to check how much of my personal life is discover able online.

In any case, my explanation was not good enough for Spokeo and they are standing by their permanent closure of my account because it was "flagged."

It makes absolutely no sense that answering a survey question could have such long-term and bizarre consequences.

Their survey question needed a clear warning at the top of the page. Alternatively, if there was no warning of possible consequences, their system could have presented me with a pop-up after I submitted the survey response with strong, clarifying language and required me to affirm acceptance of their TOS (e.g. language such as, "you indicated that Spokeo would be useful for tenant screening, but Spokeo does not permit usage for that purpose as we are not covered by FCRA. Please confirm that you will not use Spokeo for tenant screening by clicking 'I Accept' below.")

This whole experience makes me dread that Spokeo exists at all. We should not grant such extraordinary power to organizations that treat us as if we are so insignificant. If they can't be decent to their customers, they shouldn't have any customers at all.

That's my two cents.

Spokeo subscription scam

I required the cellphone number of an associate in an emergency situation, so I resorted to Spokeo.com. Their site offered various "introductory" programs so I selected "One Month of Service for $4.95". When I clicked to proceed, the resulting page offered only 6 months for $29.70. I cancelled and returned to the previous page and again selected the $4.95 option. This time the resulting page offered the $4.95 deal, so I gave my credit card info and proceeded. I promptly received a receipt stating, "Thank you for purchasing a 6-Month Bundle Subscription. Amount: $29.70." I called the billing number, explained that I am a professional writer with hundreds of reviews to my name, and offered to make their lives truly miserable if they did not promptly refund my payment . The agent immediately stated that she had refunded my payment as demanded. I soon thereafter received a "Cancellation and Refund Receipt" stating that my payment had indeed been refunded, but which I have been unable to confirm as of yet. IMHO, "Mistakes" like this occur far too frequently to be inadvertent.

Spokeo subscription service for 6 month packages

Suscribed on Dec 26, and called DEc 29 to cancel since I did not find useful information. I asked for a 5 month reimbursement from a 6 month subscription Account Number: [protected]. They charged me $47.90 for 3 days use; and said it is a one time charge only, no partial reimbursements. I told them where in the page is that policy described, and that I please need full or at least partial reimbursement since info was not useful. I understand I deserve to be reimbursed or I will report Spokeo service as fraudulent to proper authorities. Thank you.

Spokeo premium account

Joined the site and decided to subscribe. At first there was one price, but in the end they took more! Contacted Spokeo customer service and asked what was going on. They said that they gave me a premium account and that was why there was a price difference. Then I asked them why did they gave that new account, I never wanted one and never wanted to pay for it. I received all the information I needed and was not interested in their service anymore. They did not reply. When I asked for a refund they refused.

Spokeo spokeo will indeed sell your deleted info

I too believe that Spokeo will sell your personal info that you thought you had removed. I have been trying for almost a month to have my info removed so people can't buy a report about me.

Each time I contact customer care (at either [protected]@spokeo.com or [protected]@spokeo.com) or reply, I not only include the URL, I also attach a screenshot that clearly shows my name and the words "latest report as of XX/XX/2016."

Each customer representative responds the same way: "The removal request pertaining to the listing(s) you provided is complete. Please allow a maximum of 72 hours to see this change take effect on Spokeo."

I wait 72 hours and guess what? My info is STILL being sold. Once I received a message saying: "This email has been escalated to the Spokeo Privacy Supervisory team in order to provide you with the best possible assistance. A Spokeo Privacy Supervisor will remove the requested information within 72 hours." Nothing but LIES! The "team" didn't do anything.

Spokeo doesn't care about my privacy and is deliberately ignoring my repeated requests for help. Spokeo and all the people working there have no integrity.

Spokeo this site will sell your info even though you think it has been removed

I thought I had removed my info from Spokeo so that it wouldn't be available to the public. Well, I was completely fooled. When I searched for my name on Spokeo, I got a no results found page. However, when I did a Google search for my name, one of the ads in the search results took me to a Spokeo page where my info could be purchased.

I contacted customer service and was told that my removal request was complete and to wait 72 hours for the change to take effect. NOT TRUE! When I later went to the page, my info was still available for purchase. The appearance of the page had changed, but someone could still have bought my info. How ethical is this?

I am so sick of these despicable people/phone number search sites. I hope they ALL go out of business. They don't care about anyone's privacy.

Spokeo beware of spokeo's fees!

I don't understand anything about the fees on this site. A free search will show you some information, but all the details will be blocked. If you want to see more you need to subscribe for 6 months at a rate like $4.95 a month. After 6 month you will get a "Platinum" subscription for $0.95 for 7 days. Well I subscribed because I wanted to find my long lost friend. The site gave 20 name searches with old numbers and addresses. In the end I did get to make contact with a my friend.This website is very expensive, you need to pay for almost everything! Want a social media info, another $19.99 a month, until you click on something else, then it is $12.99 a month, or $11.80 a month to get search results, not specific details. Oh, and once your 20 searches are over, every detail gets hidden again, even though you have a subscription. This company is a real scam!

Spokeo email search is a total scam

I keep seeing these advertisement for Spokeo... find what you're looking for. Their ad and home page says they use deep web technology to find people. That's a load of crap. I wasn't looking for anyone in particular so i thought I'd start with an email address that I use on occasion. I've held this same address for 5 years and have several social media accounts linked and guess what spokeo couldn't find it. So I moved on to my mom's one and only email address. Nope nothing. I tried my brother's email, who's active on all sorts of social media and spokeo gave me 15 possible facebook profiles, none were my brother. I haven't tried any of the other services but I can say that the email search was a total failure for me.
