Sun Communities - Unprofessional mismanaged company

This corporate entity which owns this company has only one reason for being in the business of residential rental property, and none other than for profit. They have repeatedly displayed a complete lack of concern for any serious issues that are brought to their attention. There is apparently no moral code ethic associated with the management of this company. They seem to place no value in doing what is deemed right in order to keep resident owners who pay on time and properly maintain their home satisfied. From my perspective and observations, NO emphasis is visibly apparent with regard to keeping existing owner-residents who have 10 years or more of residency from moving their home away. The only painfully obvious corporate objective is profit above and beyond all else! The corrupt tactic of taking advantage of the fact that the majority of the residents who own their homes cannot afford to move them at the end of a lease term is suspect and an insight to how corrupt this company really is. It is unfortunate that businesses like this are allowed to continue to operate in an industry that is in clear need of closer scrutiny by consumer protection law legislators.

I agree with all the negative reviews posted here. Sun Communites is not more that a corporate bully on the residents and yes the current manager at Igh Point does keep the corporate office in the dark about alot of things but I've had dealings with her district manager Ken Kuiper and he sides with Karen even when he's heard the facts and complaints. Like the old saying goes [censored] rolls downhill and it all starts from the top. Even more sad is that DHMOA offers no assistance or legal and legislative backing unless your community has a viable, active, paying HOA. The really sad issue is the residents themselves who feel no one will listen but who will listen when you complain about the conditions amongst yourselves instead of petitioning their elected leaders to do some about this crooked travesty known as Sun Communities and High Point. What goes around comes around and what you reap so shall you sow!

I agree on Sun Communities with what I feel to be deceptive trade practices. The corporation is about profit and not concerned about there customers who by homes and rent there lots. The rent goes up each year by 50 fifty bucks. One reason Sun homes Incorporated is profit only business. And what's sad is that the majority of there customers will not be able to move there homes to land to be considered real property. And that the residents cant buy into their profit sharing and purchases stock considering the turn over and the lot lease rising each year. And Sun Communities brokers there on homes and take 8 percent commission on the sale. It's unfortunate that consumer law does not protect Manufactured homes as they should. But does this mean it cant be down with a public litigation suite file for consumers who are living in these communities to file a claim to protect us and or get legislation to have them change there practice better trade practices and allow people to purchase space to consider home ownership real property. And I think there is third party property tax issues, really why should a mobile home owner have to pay property taxes on a moveable home it would seem to be more like registration fee until the home becomes real property. Laws can change.

I had to borrow this from another complaint but I echo the sentiment.
This is so true of the management at High Point Park in Frederica DE. Tge current park manager Karen is only focused on keeping the corporate entity in tge dark as to what ACTUALLY goes on in our community and rampant disregard of some of the residents to the rules and regs, not to mention avoiding the numerous complaints filed with local authorities regarding the sale and/or use of drugs in our community. It's despicable what Sun Communities gets away with.

Here's what someone else had to say about this community owner, that I felt compelled to borrow from:
