The Salvation Army USA donation

Tried to donate two box springs which are in good condition but they didn't take them because of their condition...? Are y'all expecting brand new stuff to be donated? I can tell that they barely even looked at the box springs. I'm just going to throw them away now but wanted to let y'all know that because of your lazy drivers they won't be donated. Ridiculous

The Salvation Army USA hackettstown, nj

There is corruption by the staff working this location, they take donated items for themselves to be sold elsewhere later (Not by Salvation Army, but at local flea markets for their own personal profit). This situation needs immediate attention by the highest levels. You can find comments from local people who have stopped donating to the Salvation Army because of this, Here's a few quotes with a link to the source:

"I will no longer bring my donations there. Some of the workers there have a Buddy system with some shoppers. Rather then items going on the floor for others to purchase. Stuff is being put aside for the two brothers who are twins. They get items very cheap there and then resale for a higher price. One of those places is the flea market on 46. They have sweet talked every worker in there. They wait in the back were only employees are allowed to go and wait for new donations so they get fist pickings. This store is just going down hill, and these aren't the only two doing this there is at least 3 others they do this for. It's like the worker's lost control of the store."

"First things first I did mention it to a manager, and as of today it's still going on.. Second of all they have jobs. They tell people they work at Target. This is no way to run a business. They don't make money doing this for certain individuals. I think your forgetting what this store is all about. It's profits are to help those less fortunate. Not to line the pockets of those who have money pay less for goods so they can turn around and charge more then what they got it for."

"I've noticed the exact same problem at that store, and with those brothers and others. They actually posted a warnimg letter from Salvation Army HQ by the registers that dressed them down for this practice. I guess the people there don't care. It really hampers that store. They never have new electronics/movies/games out because they all are going out the back door. It's a shame because the other stores in the area are more competently run and cycle old merchandise out regularly."

"That store has been going down hill for about a year or more. Once management changed hands to give a"higher ups"family member a job. All you hear is cursing and swearing by the"manager"and volunteer (family) in Spanish. Complaints made to the"manager"and main office in Paterson get ignored.
They have old crap and do sneaky stuff. Im really surprised the town hasn't got on them too about all the crap thrown out back. It looks like a junk yard. Makes Hackettstown look terrible."

The Salvation Army USA unethical behavior

In the last two years since the Hackettstown, NJ store opened, the quality of service, merchandise, and rotation has been abysmal. Employees have been witnessed by myself and others holding items for special customers in the back of the store. Merchandise meant for the floor has spent days, if not weeks, languishing in boxes unpacked and unpriced while old (and often broken) merchandise sit on empty shelves. My friend constantly complains about the used video tapes there, as the other stores he visits frequently put new titles on the shelves, while this store hasn't had any in months. He's sure they are coming into the store but either being thrown out or given to special customers out of the back. As an avid second-hand shop, I yearn for the day when this store can equal the others in our area. But until then I find myself hard-pressed to ever visit it, despite my ease of access and desire to support the needy.

Does your friend have any proof of this?

The Salvation Army USA customer service / cashier

After several horrible experiences with this same cashier...I find it necessary to complete an official complaint. The cashier name tag says Virginia. She cashiers at the Salvation Army Thirft Store located at 26065 Greenfield Rd Southfield, Michigan 48076.
Just because we love finding a great deal doesn't mean that we should continuously be treated disrespectfully, belittled, or disregarded. We should be treated decently whether we are paying $5 or $5000.
Any time I am encountered with Virginia i leave feeling disrespected and upset. I am so tured of her irrogant behavior. I realize that she has been at this location for years and may know the company's business, however she is not suitable for the cashier position. She is extremely loud with her sarcasm and tends to enjoy embarrassing customers. My last incident with her was 10/26/2017 at 4:30pm. I ask that you please investigate my issue. I love salutation army and I hope to continue being a customer but not at this expensive. Signed Concerned Customer

The Salvation Army USA unethical behavior

Today, Oct. 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. my girlfriend and I went to the Salvation Army Store in Overtown Miami Florida, when we entered the store we had a bag with us and the policy in the store is to carry your bag with you. There is no bag check in, as I entered I went straight to the Manger Rudy and asked him if I could exchange a pair of new shoes, that I had purchased in this same store and he stared shouting at me in front of the customers, he said that I always buy items and then return them, which is he is correct, it occurred one time only. I asked Rudy that I was purchasing a new shirt for my girlfriend and asked him if I could exchange the shirt if it happened to be as the wrong size and he stated yes, just to bring the receipt with me and he would exchange it Which he did one time only. Today when I went to your store and asked him if I could exchange merchandise he said that he had just done that once before and started acting crazy showing me the signs that stated final sale and started yelling at me again in front of all the customers and employees.
Let me introduce myself, I work for the city of Miami helping the homeless for some years, and I have great admiration for the help you provide in general. I have placed in your care a number of clients in despaired an in much need, Ms. Valdes was in charge of the placement, and thank you for all the help you have provided.
In going back to the situation that occurred today in the store. I decided to walk away from Rudy and I had the bag of merchandise I brought in the store to exchange with me and my girlfriend wanted to try on some new items in the fitting room and we asked for the keys to the dressing room and they told us they did not have the keys, just to duck down and go under the bottom of the fitting room door and get in the fitting room that way. My girlfriend asked me to see how the item fit and ask for my opinion if I liked the dress or not and out of no were comes this employee saying that no bags are allowed in the dressing room, I ask him if he had ever seen me stealing something, and he stated that I was not his boss don't try that with me." and took my bag and gave me a number.
I am a loyal customer of yours and shop at your store three times per week and I have plenty of receipts to proof it. If you have any doubt about any of this that occurred at your store please view the video cameras, please do not delete the evidence, so you may view how your store is being run by management and employees and also see other things that are occurring at this location.
If you could please contact me by via email at [protected]@aol.com or at 305.303.7543 to confirm you have received this complaint.
Sincerely,
Jorgen

They don't care about your complaints. They only want your money. That's all they want. The Salvation Army is an extremely corrupt organization. Don't support them. Don't donate money or items. Definitely don't volunteer for them! You will be belittled and treated like crap.

The Salvation Army USA the manager of the location was super rude!

Hey,
So today I went to shop at the location by my house, it was not my first time at this location. Every time we go there is a lady with black hair, about 5 0", she is kind of chubby, she always treats us SUPER RUDE as if were asking her to give us thing for free or if we were homeless, and she almost kicked us out the store, my husband is DISABILITY and shouldn't have been treated this way. She kept making fun of us with her co-worker in Spanish while pointing at us in the store. When i tried to talk to her she said I can treat you the way I want I am the manager here. I can't describe how rude she was with us, I couldn't hold my tears after she did that to me. She refused telling me her name when I asked her, I have two receipts with me from today one has name "Nicole", Reg: "RDBM07270", the second named "Maricela", Reg:"RDBQ06423". Store number: 95.3.
I don't know how you let RUDE worker with [censor] customer scervice work there. I'm not stepping into this place no more.

The Salvation Army USA customer service/store manager

To whom it may concern,

I have been shopping with salvation army for a few years now, and have spent probably thousands of dollars over that time. Been t most recently I have experiencing rather unpleasant, and quite in fact, down right rude customer service from most employees at this location no t most importantly, the stote MANAGER!
Usually when I shop there I tend to put items back where I found them because I've worked in retail for over 15 years and I know how stressful it can be to recover a store and put merchandise back where it was originally. But even so there were times where people don't. And its part of the job. That's part of a retail job description. But today unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush, and had put the items back in a empty cart some one left by the back where I was and was leaving. Upon doing so the manager very loudly says,
"I just love it when a customer thinks I have nothing else better to do, like they can't put back the stuff theirsleves instead of just leaving it where ever. How hard is that?"

So I proceeded to leave when again the manager comes towards the front a second time and says to the cashier up front,

"I don't know why people think they can just leave stuff all over the place and leave us to put everything back"

Now this is coming from the STORE MANAGER! A person who is supposed to be a leader of a retailer establishment and provide an example of customer service. This was completely UNACCEPTABLE. And I have never experienced a more disrespectful member from a retailer in all my life! And unfortunately this is not the first time this has occurred.
I really think this should not go unnoticed. I am also going to contact up the chain of command as far as I can go. I should not, nor should ANY customer, be treated with such utter disrespect only because you are having a bad day, or you don't feel like doing your job. I will be looking forward to a response on this matter and as I said, I will be pursuing further until this situation is addressed & resolved. I appreciate your time and thank you for allowing me to submit my experience. I will not judge the store or chain itself on a disrespectful employee, so I will continue to shop there. However, if I experience any further unpleasant and unnecessary interaction with the manager at this location, I will shop elsewhere

John Melton

Thanks so much for sharing your concerns. We've discussed this with the manager and, while there are two sides to every story, none of our guests should be treated with anything but respect and appreciation for their support.

Thanks again for your comments and for your support of our mission.

The Salvation Army USA domestic violence shelter

I am being told me and my 2 year lid are being kicked out for video chatting with my daughter. Nowhere does it state this is not allowed in my rules and i simply asked was this allowed since other residents informed me it was not. Nobody was around me at the time so its not like i was showing anybody here or breaking the anonamity rule (as if my 16 year old daughter cares who is here). I was at this same shelter about 8months ago and was exited for something i was not involved in and had nowhere to go but back to my abuser. This time i had to like plead to be able to have a safe place for me and my baby to go. These workers should not be allowed to dictate who deserves the services of the salvation army. I feel like they have something personal against me as more than one worker knows my abuser. I have not broken any rules or laws and am being told i must go out on the streets with my baby. When i caught a thief red handed stealing and many other women here also on seperate occasions caught the thief stealing she was simply moved to a different room. Then after being caught stealing again she was escorted out and protected from us calling the law. I do not think this is the way salvation army helps people the way jessica this directer just picks and chooses who is worthy of this shelter(which by the way is the only dv shelter in this area). I am not pleased.

All of these issues are your responsibility, not the Salvation Army's. If you can walk back and forth 19 times with paperwork, you can get a job. If you are really too sick, your two adult daughters should be able to help you. Stop relying on other's. You need to step up and stop blaming an organization for your personal problems.

The Salvation Army USA unethical behavior at chulavista silvercrest apartment building (636 3rd ave)

This is reference to my application to get an apartment at the SIlvercrest Salvation Army Apartment Building in ChulaVista, CA (636 3rd Ave), where Ms Miranda Acuna is the CPO.
Thru this complaint, I am asking that my application be reviewed by someone other than Ms Acuna, and make sure the right processes and procedures are being followed and my application is given fair treatment. I will explain the circumstances below. However, at this point, I urge you to look at this complaint ASAP as I am in need of an apartment I can afford, and as of today, Oct 6th is when the next one may become available at this location, and I don’t want to lose the opportunity to get this other apartment now too.
Tues Sept 5th – I went with my son Victor Baez Ortiz de Zarate to the office bringing all the documents she asked for: ID, Social Security Card, SSN, Insurance Cards, copies of Bank statements from Mar to Sep, passport… Ms Acuna she asked me to stop by between 9:40am and 10am saying she had an apartment for wheel-chair bound people becoming available, and I was 1 of 5 people that could possibly get it. One of these 5 people was no longer interested, so she actually just had 4 people interested and that she would send the document of the first person that turned in all their documents, so my son and I jumped thru hoops to get to Ms Acuna’s office and turn everything in, because she said she had to send it to her Management. Ms Acuna made copies of everything, and she also mentioned that of the other 3 people that could apply, only one person could be interested, but she didn’t think the apartment would work out for him since he needed to install a cable. When we met with Ms Acuna to turned my documents in, my son asked her 3 questions:
1. How long would Ms Acuna wait for the other possible candidates to bring their documents?. Ms Acuna answered that she would send whatever document she had between then and Friday Sep 8th. Ms Acuna said she would send all the packages she had by Monday Sep 11th, at the latest.
2. When would Ms Acuna turn the apartment over to the new tenant?. Ms Acuna said that by Sep 15th. She said that the apartment needed a few cabinets, and she actually needed to turn it over to the new tenant by Sep 15th because she was attending a seminar (or class?), and she needed to do it before she left.
3. What are the chances of me (Elisa) getting the apartment? Ms Acuna answered that assuming she is the only person turning her documents in and assuming she gets approved by Management, then she would probably get it since she would be the only one interested and she turned everything in. Ms Acuna also said that between now and Friday Sep 8th, if nobody else brought their documents in then, she would only send the documents she had ready, which in this case, would me mine, since I turned everything in.
Before leaving, Ms Acuna asked me to stop by the office on Friday Sep 8th to sign some additional documents, which I did. Read below.
Fri Sep 8th – I stopped by the office with Ms Acuna to sign the documents. I arroved at 12:20pm and stayed there until 3pm. Ms Acuna mentioned that nobody else had called her or brought their documents, and if they called, they would have to call by today and bring all their documents today too, which Ms Acuna thought was unlikely. Ms Acuna also mentioned that the person that was interested initially (the one that needed a cable in the apartment) was no longer interested due to being unable to have the cable he wanted. On this day I signed several documents for Ms Acuna. She said she would give Elisa copies of the documents later. While in the office, I have mention that I felt Ms Acuna nervious, seemed unorganized, and had trouble finding what she needed, including the papers that I had just brought to her on Tues Sept 5th. When I left the office, Ms Acuna became emotional even shedding a few tears, so I left happy and confident things were going to turn out good. Ms Acuna also mentioned that she would probably be turning over the apartment Sep 13th not on the 15th. On this day, Ms Acuna gave me a document for my son to sign, and another document for my current landlord to sign. Ms Acuna said it was important to have both of those documents signed and mailed as soon as possible. Ms Acuna on this day went as far as to mention to me to start making arrangement to move in and even said not to pay next month’s rent where I was currently at, since I would probably be moving to Silvercrest. I had already paid for next month’s rent.

Sat Sep 9th – I had the 2 documents that Ms Acuna gave me, signed: the one for my son, and the one for my current landlord.
Tues Sep 12th – Talked to Ms Acuna and she said everything was going well, however, Ms Acuna mentioned she hadn’t received the document from my Doctor’s office stating that I in fact need a wheelchair. I called my doctor’s office and the office faxed what was needed to Ms Acuna right away. Ms Acuna confirmed she received it. At around noon or so on this day, Ms Acuna confirmed that she had all the paperwork she needed from me. Ms Acuna also mentioned to me that about one hour ago a current tenant had expressed interest in the apartment, and Ms Acuna mentioned that current tenants had preference, and I mentioned to her that this new person was not in the original list of people interest in this apartment nor she was in the list of people waiting for this kind of apartment (for people with disability), and Ms Acuna said that it didn’t matter, that she had to give this person preference since she is a current resident. I told Ms Acuna that I couldn’t believe that someone who just decided to get this apartment, is not in any waiting list to get an apartment and can jump on top of the list. At any rate, Ms Acuna said she would still send my documents TODAY, as well as this new person’s documents FOR SURE, and that she would leave it up to her Management to decide who gets the apartment. Ms Acuna said she was leaving to the Company event from Sep 18th to Sept 22nd, and that would call me on Monday the 25th to let me know who got the apartment.
Sun Sep 24th 2:13pm – Ms Acuna called me, and she sounded incoherent, nothing she was saying was making sense and she struggled to say what she wanted to say. Ms Acuna said that the other person was granted the apartment and that Elisa had to wait, that a Studio Apartment had become available since this was the one the other person was in.
Wed Sep 27th at 9am - I called Marisol, the social worker, and Marisol called Ms Acuna, and Ms Acuna said that I was the 5th person in the waiting list, which I was surprised to hear, since all along Ms Acuna had been telling me I was on top of the list and I was next, and now Ms Acuna is saying I am 5th in the list?. I then called Ms Acuna, and asked her to tell me when the next apartment would be assigned and MsAcuna said on Oct 6th. Then I asked Ms Acuna if she had sent my documents to Management, and Ms Acuna said NO, that the wheel chair accessible apartment had been assigned to the other person, and that the Studio Apartment would be the one that Elisa could get now, and that this Studio Apartment was also wheel chair accessible and was on the 1st floor. At this time, I mentioned to Ms Acuna that it needed to be clear that Elisa had applied earlier and there were only 5 people interested and of those, one backed out, and the other 3 didn’t bring their papers, which left me to be the only person applying to get the wheel-chair accessible apartment, and now she hadn’t even sent my documents to Management to be considered for an Apartment?. At this time, Ms Acuna got really upset, said she was really busy and hung up the phone on me. Ms Acuna in conversations with Marisol (my social worker), she implied that due to my age I could be misunderstanding or changing things, but what Ms Acuna doesn’t know is that I have good memory, I am organized and have been logging the events in applying for this apartment. I am also in constant conversations with my son, my daughter and social worker (Marisol), and they know the situation and can speak for what’s been happening. They have all agreed that at this point, is best to file this complaint so that someone else can look at this, look at my application, my paperwork, etc, because so far, I don’t feel my application has been treated fairly and given the same chances as other applicants.
I want to make sure the correct processes and procedures are being followed and my application is treated fairly. I already lost the apartment that was granted to the other person a few days ago, and I don’t want this to happen again with the apartment that Ms Acuna mentioned would be assigned on Oct 6th. My apartment situation is critical. I can’t continue to afford what I am currently paying in rent, and I am looking forward to getting the apartment on Oct 6th.
I also expect to be treated with respect and dignity. I feel offended by the fact that Ms Acuna said that I may be changing words or misunderstanding things. That is far from the truth. I am certain that when you review my case, my application, timeline, etc, you will see that this complaint was necessary. Marisol, the social worker, has also filed a complaint with Salvation Army on my behalf, and can speak for the situation as well. My son and daughter are also available if you need to speak to them.

Thank you so much for your time and will appreciate quick action in this matter.
FYI:
Marisol – works at the 211 San Diego Assistance Program for Housing, and can be reached at [protected]

The Salvation Army USA termination of veterans

Recently the Charlottesville Salvation Army did a night time search of residence shelter which resulted in termination of services for nine residents who were in possession of unopened food items. Three of these residents were war veterans and two were physically incapable of living under Street conditions. While it is understood a policy is in place to prevent infestation, it seems a bit extreme to put nine people on the streets of Charlottesville in the beginning of fall with no means of obtaining a warm dry place to reside. In this case it is obvious a different solution could have been implemented. The resident manager ensured these residents were "put out" on a weekend when no social services agencies we're available to assist and with a huge weekend of events going on in the area, no affordable housing was available. Those terminated we're advised they could appeal but must wait until Monday, putting them at risk sleeping outside for two entire days and nights. For a faith based organization whose funding and donations are based on the community and their beliefs are supposed to be Christian based, this was a gross misappropriation of authority and should not have occurred. Maybe community awareness may help alleviate problems such as these and bring accountability to those responsible.

The Salvation Army USA unethical behavior

I went in today for the free breakfast, and I knocked on the door because it was locked and no one responded. I then kicked the door, and the lady who answered the door opened the door in a very angry voice asked who kicked the door, I replied "I did, [censor] I'm sorry." She then told me since I cussed she would not be serving me today. I am pregnant and I was very very angry at this point, because I did not know if you cussed they would not feed me, and a curse word should not have my baby growing inside of me who had nothing to do with my actions, had to go hungry as well. If they do not feed you if you say a curse word, they should have those rules posted everywhere. I called and major Bella told me it was my fault. I don't believe these people are walking with God, even Jesus says give your enemy water if they are thirsty. She killed me according to Jesus when she responded to me in anger because I kicked the door, because it was locked and I was knocking and no one heard me. I don't know why the doors were locked before it was time to be served. I dont know why they are making up rules so they get out of feeding me, and I dont know why my baby has to suffer because of my actions.

On Thursday Dec. 15 2017 I was on Salvation Army store on 232 Orchard Lake Rd. WEST BLOOMFIELD, Michigan.
I was first in check out line. There were two cashiers servicing customers. One of them store manager name Sherry.
They were worked very slow - talking to customers instead checking out items. I was waiting about 40 min. and told manager - Sherry if they can work little faster. She start to threatening verbally and ask second cashier to call security. Finally after waiting over 40 minutes being in line first I was checked
out. I do not think she is qualified to work as a manager or any customer related job.

The Salvation Army USA service

We have a Salvation Army here in Edgewood New Mexico, on Dinkle Road that I have had to depend on lately...I used to donate to you but now I find myself needing you. The Salvation Army here is managed by a lady named Marsha. I know this because I heard one of the employees call her that. I recently had to move into a rental and needed some furniture. I thought this was the place I could afford! Unfortunately NO. The prices were way too high. $75 for a small side table that was really beat up! I did find a comforter I needed with no price. The young lady at the counter said she would sell it for $5. I was thrilled. Then Marsha came up and said. "No!" That comforter is $20. So, I ended up going to Walmart to get one on sale for $15. I have since heard that Marsha determines the prices and she thinks she owns an antique store...this is not right and somebody needs to have a talk with Marsha! In the meantime I guess Walmart is cheaper.

The Salvation Army USA purchase of a coffee maker

I bought a keurig coffee maker for 15.00 from the salvation army in corona. I've been wanting one a long time. I was told they test the electronics before they put them out so i was certain that i was going to keep it and threw out the reciept. After spending 30 additional dollars for the coffee ..i tried my coffee maker and it did not work. the water did not come out of it. The salvation army sticker is still on the coffee maker with the date of august 2017. I asked to trade it for another coffee maker or store credit and the manager at the corona california location told me no becuase i did not have my receipt despite that the sticker was still on it and i told her i had gotten it for half price which was the current sale at the store. I dont think it was fair because it should have been tested as i was told and it cannot be used for the reason it was intended.

The Salvation Army USA seaside california store 93955 refuses to sell me a $10 ceramic panther until tuesday

I went into the seaside store and attempted to purchase a black ceramic Panther the manager told me that it was a display item that she wasn't going to sell it until Tuesday for $10. she gave me a phone number for the district manager which turned out to be another store I called that store which gave me a phone number to call I left two messages for the major and did not receive a return call I'm expecting to return to the store on Tuesday and the panther not being there and receiving some excuses. is there anything that someone can do to assist me. from what I understand the Salvation Army is an organization that benefits people by collecting donations from people in order to sell them to gain money to help other people in need so I don't understand why there's and item that I can't purchase while I'm in the store

$10 ceramic Panther issue. I called the manager on Monday morning and asked Linda, if she still had the Panther, as it was not on display Saturday night and Sunday She had told me it was required to be on display until Tuesday. She said she would sell it to me today, as I was causing too much trouble. Instead of $10, she charged me $17.70 with no tax. I thought that was an odd amount. I asked her why it wasn't $10, like she had told me. She replied that she had told me it would be about $10. I paid the $17.70 and left. I never received a return call from the Major. I had left 4 messages. I'm sure he has better things to do. In conclusion, its my belief that this is a good organization and does great things to help the community. The organization can not be judged by one employee with a personal agenda. I will continue to support the organization, as I have for many years. Thank you for reading this saga.

The Salvation Army USA purchasing a hutch

Today at 12:02pm I went to the Salvation Army and looked at a hutch that was for sale with tag. I left for 20 Minutes to measure my home n'as came back to purchase it.

When I arrived I was surprised to see a hand written note saying hold till 7pm. No manager signature, no name of anyone and the price tag was still in tact. I go up to the front desk and of which those employees seemed confused how that could occur. First manager said this is not correct and said this was done by the other manager and went to get her. I said I would like to purchase the hutch and I have the truck to take it right now. She said it's being held till 7pm. I said did they put a deposit because the price tag is on there with no info. She said no deposit just holding till 7pm. I said so a customer can place a hold on an item without any money for hours? She hesitated and said yes. When I looked at the Other employees they all knew that wasn't right.
Clearly this person is saving a piece for herself or a friend without any payment rather than letting someone buy it and support the Salvation Army. I was very taken aback by his behavior. This is at the mt. Pocono where we do a lot of donations and shopping. You should really take a look at who is a manager there. We would happily go back and get th hutch.

The Salvation Army USA service

I tried to donate at the mahoning ave store in austintown Ohio they real nasty and rude from the start and refused to take my stuff told me I was trying to throw box at them when I was not. Had three booster seats, told me I could not donate them because of recalls, which i fully understood when I was only trying to move them out of the way. When we pulled up she was filing her nails, and did not greet us, we had to get out of the car and ask what to do. She told us she would not accept summer clothes and did not even look to see what I had and directly told us to go to goodwill. Was very rude and will never go there again.

The Salvation Army USA shoes

Today I went into your store with my husband, this morning, he found some shoes, ugly shoes and the price was $12.99 he asked the cashier if he could bargain the price and she said yes we will never sell those they are ugly! She said she would give them to him for $4.50 and to come back later she would have the price changed, we went back this afternoon, so waiting in line for our turn, the woman in front of us has a basket with no price tag the asst manger comes over and tells the cashier $1.99 it was $6.99 cashier was ok and rings it up. Then we are next put the ugly shoes up there with new price tag on them and a yellow tag which was.49 cents today. The cashier tried calling someone for help 10 minutes pass no one came line is extremely long and people are [censor]ing, then there is a man hanging hangers, she asks him and he says the price is.49 cents for those then here comes the asst. Manager with his attitude for getting him on the floor and says no see the sign no price changes by employees? I said they just did that for the lady previously with a basket he says shoes are not clothing? I was like what? I will pay the price of $5.49 which was the yellow tag said he said no you will pay the $12.99 price on bottom of shoe, he was an [censor] and I will never donate to your organization again nor will I shop, or help your red bucket program, or the christmas toys program, as I have in the last 40 years this is not a "christian" org as it is put out to be, you receive this stuff for free by people like me and then your employees that have no clue about customer service. I am sure this will go in the trash and that is fine do not send me any more help donate to harvey or any other natural disaster or any more programs it will go in the trash as well..

The Salvation Army USA lexington, ky branch

The workers here do nothing but abuse their authority, while not even providing toilet paper. They implement a bunch of invisible rules, and write you up- though rules are not posted that clients if supposedly breaking. Ince you meet with a case manager, you are given a lot of out dated unhelpful information and the case manager has very little knowledge. The clients do all the chores and jobs, while the employees just boss everyone around and are rude to the clients as if they are getting paid to be here. I heard three clients complain about no toilet paper in most the facility since the evening hour's and it is twelve hours later and toilet paper is not replaced. There are never paper towels or soap to wash and dry your hands. They lists continental breakfast on entry paper work, yet all that is provided is milk and cereal every morning. That should probably be corrected to state: breakfast. The family room is just chairs and a tv, while the singles living room is quite more luxury. The facility is too cold for comfort. My children and I sleep in the front lobby, and they don't even turn out the lights so we can comfortably sleep. Things are constantly stolen here as well. I do not recommend this facility unless you don't have children or personal belongings.
