poor customer service
I contacted Netflix to question a transaction which showed up on my account earlier today as I had cancelled my account a few days into the trial. I spoke to an online agent who was incredibly unhelpful and rude. She insisted that teh only way of verifying teh billing was to take my full debit card number. I enclose the transcript below. I got very frustarted as she repatidly sent me the request. I then rang your customer services on teh phone and the lady was manage to confirm within minutes that my account had been closed and I was not billed by netflix therefore I need to speak to my bank with regards to this. I would like to share my concerns with you with regards to how patronising the agent on the web chat was. I really hope that you will look into this matter.

Some one hacked my account and was streaming while I was trying to log in so I attempted to reset my password... It would not let me... So I contact customer service and jump through all there hoops just to reset my password and finally get access to my account... An hour and an half, two customer reps later and the issue is still not resolved and I get a message we have sent this up the chain and you should just suck it up until we get to it (parafrazing of course) so what i'm paying for a 30 day service I may or may not get access to again and who knows when all wile they charge me full price... I'm livid

Im so disappointed. I can assure you I AM NOT LYING. I HAVE NEVER USED NETFLIX IN MY PHONE OR OTHER DEVICES BEFORE. SO WHEN I MADE MY FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT, they charged me. AND WHEN I CONTACTED THEM, they said that MY PHONE HAS BEEN USED TO MAKE A FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT BEFORE regardless if its my account or not.. MY PHONE HAS BEEN USED FOR THE FREE TRIAL. So basically, the FREE TRIAL IS NOT FOR OUR ACCOUNT, ITS FOR OUR DEVICES. Well you couldve stated that, but no you have EVERYONE believed that the period that their using is free WHEN ITS NOT. bugs not fixed
For 2-3 months there has been a bug on Netflix that Netflix 'will fix soon' and they still haven't.
I get Netflix Error M7353-5101, go through all the troubleshooting steps, tried different browser etc and nothing fixes it.
I was frustrated and contacted customer support and spoke to a manager, Kiran, was unsympathetic and unhelpful with the situation.
They said 'it will be fixed soon' as always and offered no compensation for the frustration it has caused. In fact Kiran just simply said 'I suggest you watch another title'. What terrible customer support.
Try a different browser, a different device? Rather than wasting the time of both you and a floor supervisor who won't have a magic 'fix it' button sitting on his desk for special occasions. Your account works, they don't owe you [censored] in compensation if you insist on trying to use it on a device that isn't working.

We like many of your original programs but find the constant overuse of the word [censored] and its derivatives to be disturbing and so unnecessary. Your programs have men, women and children using the language as though it is integral to the average family life and it really isn't. Occasional use of the language in the right situation is one thing but using it like all people are gangsters or gang members is so unnecessary. Cleaning up your program language would be appreciated by my friends and family and make us more apt to watch your programing.
movies and shows
I am very tired of having to start watching a show or a movie, to discover that is a foreign movie and not American or British.
Netflix needs to have a different section where people who like Mexican movies, go there. I hate Spanish movies and I don't watch them, even when I speak several languages, my preferred language is English.
If I want to watch a foreign movie, I will go get me one. However, I live in the USA, I love movies but only in English!
Also, I noticed a lot of homesexual and bisexual movies and shows that are being seen by teenagers. That is horrible and should not be allowed. It sounds like Netflix is promoting homosexuality and deviations tendencies to brainwash young people.
If all this continues, I will cancel my subscription.
over the phone customer service
I just had a conversation with a lady over the phone because my account was locked after few days of me signing up, when I haven't even watched much shows, and was eligible for a month free trial, and my month has not run out at all yet. So I called for help and guidance in hopes they'd fix that for me. The lady I was assigned to was extremely rude and had a ton of attitude! She was not even listening to me when I was spelling out my name and kept on spelling it wrong, when I was so clear. (I could not catch her name) I made the call at 1.20am on Wednesday 11th September, so hopefully you could listen over recorded phone conversations at that time, because I'm sure they're all recorded for quality purposes. She was so rude it really made me feel uncomfortable and because of that reason, I didn't want to spend my money for my account, so Netflix lost money because of her! I was originally going to pay if I wasn't able to carry on my free trial but she put me off so bad, because of her nasty aura. If you don't want to help people and explain to them why things are a certain way in Netflix accounts, then don't work there at all! I hope you could help me and solve this and make sure she gets told about her behaviour.

Netflix is going to lose our business! It is so disappointing that all the Netflix originals are rated tv-ma. Previously we enjoyed designated survivor and were disgusted with the language when the new season came out at tv-ma. What is wrong with your writers, directors and producers? Does there have to be a curse word in every other sentence of dialogue! Please clean up your act and start producing some good quality shows that families can enjoy.

Maybe you should have just accepted that they don't have a magic 'fix it' button after the third or fourth call, rather than calling over and over again and getting yourself worked up. They'll have looked into your issue, and if the first agent doesn't have a(n immediate) fix to suggest, the next agent won't either. Give it a bit of time and try again later.

It is clear your removing the best shows and movies just to make more originals, witch is fine, but the point of Netflix is to have as many shows as possible, so if you return those shows and movies and as many as possible is the best way to get new customers, and until you return them I will give you a one star
unauthorised billing
i cancelled my account two months ago and the confirmation email has been received. HOWEVER, I WAS CHARGED FOR TWO MONTHS AGAIN! when i ask the customer service, i was told it is because i reactivate my account. however, i did not. From their record, i reactivated on 29th for both months. How can this be? Then i was asked to contact my bank. i just had no clue why i should do this.
i have been with Netflix for years. i did not expect i was treated like this when leaving them. they just treat you as a fool when you want to leave. they do not care at all. i would not recommend anyone use this service. such rubbish!

Hi, I'm a new netflix subscriber, I just set up my account today in the morning and I knew that I was trying out the free 30 day trial. After a few minutes I get a notification that money has been deducted from my account. I don't understand how free subscription is charged please fix the issue and give me a refund if possible please I was only trying it out bust was not ready to loose money.

I had to have a long talk with my son the other day. He was watching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix. When he was finished he sat there in front of the TV--a blank look scrawled across his face.
"Daddy?" he asked. "Am I worthless?"
Where in the name of Hell did that come from, I wondered. Then I sat down and watched She-Ra, and it all became instantly clear. She-Ra, unlike the version I remember from the 80's, preaches nothing but female invincibility, prowess, correct decisions, sisterhood, and, at the same time, victimhood as well. Meanwhile, men, are almost exclusively portrayed as weak, bumbling, cowardly, stupid, utterly dependent on their female companions and/or evil or a force to be fought against and defeated. Small wonder my son came away thinking he was trash.
What are you trying to push? What lessons are you trying to teach? And, if you expect me, a guy, to pay for this gender-based brow-beating, think again.

Netflix closed it's Phoenix facility and now ships and receives from CA. I live in AZ. My average number of videos went from 3.2 a week to 2 yet I pay the same price. Bait and switch. Of course it all comes w/in their contract which is very broad. But it is sad... They don't seem to care about their consumers not close to their facilities. They offered a service providing a product at one price but because they closed their facility you get less product for but the same price. Very clever. Paying more for less.

In Season 1, Episode 4, at about 9 minutes during a trip to the market they show a frog being skinned alive & still hopping around without its skin. It's cruel, unnecessary & completely inappropriate in any TV, let alone M rated.
Although I'm aware that unnecessary animal cruelty is rampant in the production of food, to see something so blatantly cruel during what is advertised as a comedy show is jarring.
This needs to be removed from the show, it doesn't add any value.

I do not understand how you can get us hooked on great programming like Sense8 and especially OA And then just pull the rug out from under us! We are the subscribers here why don't we have any say in what we're paying for? We get heavily invested in the shows and assume there will be another season and then we hear They are canceled and we are just left hanging! What can we do to help resolve this? I feel like I don't want to start on any more of these shows because they are just canceled and you I've just left hanging! Why do we have a Netflix in the first place?
If only Complaintsboard had been around when FOX canceled Firefly. Not that it would have mattered or that they would have read the complaints, this is essentially a 3rd party blog website, but I would have been right there with you complaining about canceled shows. Anyway, in the end, it turns out there probably wasn't a big enough viewership for it.

I am unsure if this is the correct contact but I would like to make a formal complaint about a programme currently streaming on your "Kids" service entitled "Veggietales".
My five year old son has been watching episodes of this series and it has come to my attention that every episode includes Bible verses and mentions of the Christian God.
My wife and I are Atheists and raising our son this way. Nowhere in the title description does it mention that this cartoon contains Christian teachings and the way it is presented in the show is quite subversive.
I am extremely upset that my son has been subjected to Christian teachings in the guise of a childrens show as we go to great lengths to ensure he is not force fed these ideologies in School or anywhere else.
In future if childrens shows on your service are aimed at teaching a specific religion then it may be wise to include this in the description.
I look forward to your response regarding this matter.

Can you be specific about a season / episode where Christian teachings are being taught? I watched it for a while out of curiosity after this post and must've missed it.
Also, it's a show with a talking tomato. If you're that concerned, maybe it's time to have a chat with your son about not taking advice from talking fruit?
season 3 of designated survivor
We had enjoyed season 1 and 2 of Designated Survivor and were looking forward to watching season 3. We turned it off after about 15 min. because we just don't care for the crude language and blasphemy. Really? Why did you stoop so low? Totally unnecessary! The popularity of Seasons 1 and 2 make it clear that it is not necessary to the story. Not everyone uses such language, which shows a deplorable lack of vocabulary - and lazy writing! - and we certainly don't wish to invite it into our home.
Very disappointed.
