I used my OCBC 365 credit card to pay to XM global for Gold trading. After making some gains recently, i withdraw USD45000 from my XM global account and I was informed that it would be refunded to my credit card. The funds came to my credit card last Monday 23 October 2023. I went to the OCBC bank at Toa Payoh to request the funds to be transfer to my saving account but I was told that it would be faster to request through the number at the back of the credit card which I did.
I was attended by Saliha who informed me that the sum was too big and therefore need approval as to prevent money laundering. I pointed out to her that she could see from the bank records that I send money to XM global in many occasions through my credit card. she admitted that she saw the records and therefore concluded not a case of money laundering. I requested her to highlight this point to approving officer and ask to expedite as i need my fund for payment urgently. I was told that it may take 3-5 days.
Last Saturday,(25 Oct 2023), I called again, Anzril answered and I was told that he would see to it next Monday. On Tuesday morning (28 Oct), I called and Allan Yong answered and promised to call back by 2pm but didn't. My 4th call was attended by Sophia who was very patient and professional, solving my problem around 6pm.
My complaint is why take so long to handle such a simple case of money transfer? We are in smart city now and why such simple case should take 3-5 days and at the end taking more than 5 days, making me lose interest and investment opportunity.
