Intelius.com This is NOT a reputable business--they provide a substandard

This is NOT a reputable business--they provide a substandard product/service and then make unauthorized charges on your bank card hoping that you won't notice.

I had to pay separately for every separate piece of information (phone numbers + addresses), and the information provided was OVER FIVE YEARS OLD! I cancelled my membership the same day I signed up, and received an e-mail stating that I would receive "no further charges." However, one week later, a fee for $7.95 popped up on my bank statement and I had to call and fight with them to get it removed.

They're betting that most people either won't notice the extra charge, or won't bother to fight it. Extremely unethical.

MEMBER ID: *** with this company I used their company services back in May have 2022 the charge should have been .99 but instead I was charged over $12 I immediately called and told them I wanted to service canceled since i no longer needed it. I assumed it had been done I guess that was my 1st problem, I called repeatedly asking them to cancel this This account but which they never did. I had originally bulled the charge on a credit card of which I had also given one to my daughter, on that credit card I had auto pay established so I didn't even think twice when my auto payments were coming out on a monthly basis assuming that these were charges my daughter was using the card. this week for some reason I logged in to look at my account and behold Intelius has been billing me all along I have filed a complaint with my credit card company I reported my card lost and stolen becausehat seems to be the only way I can stop them from charging but I would like them to reverse all those charges as you can see and it can be verified I never logged in to a the intelius account since May 2022 or did anything other than that 1st time that I accessed it.

This response is in regards to the consumer complaint from ***, ID.

When a user activates their account, they must provide an electronic signature authorizing Intelius to charge their payment method as described, including for the automatic renewal of their membership. Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email for any orders placed on the site.

Customers are able to cancel online from within their account, through our Customer Phone Support, or by sending an email to support@mailer.intelius.com. After a thorough investigation, we have determined that no cancellation attempts were made through any of these channels.

As a courtesy, we have cancelled all memberships and refunded *** Reginas account back to the payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. Please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department at *** with any further questions. We are available to assist you during regular business hours, from 7:00am - 4:00pm Pacific time (10:00am - 7:00pm Eastern time), Monday Friday.

Intelius.com Watch out for Intelius

Watch out for Intelius - I used Intelius to get a phone number of a person I needed to call and they offered this search for $0.95 ( half off)... little did i know that I was actually subscribing to their monthly indenity service ( had no idea, it wasn't obvious) probably some of that small print.

Any was I called them and the said that they would stop the subscription, but the $19.95 they took out of my checking account was their's and they were going to keep it. I said that I was willing to pay full price for the phone number I wanted ($1.95) and they could reimburse me $18.00... but they said no too bad you signed up for it so we are keeping the money.
Watch out for Intelius!

Intelius.com Intelius offers removal of personal data from their site but I've contacted them many times to remove my data for

Intelius offers removal of personal data from their site but I've contacted them many times to remove my data for safety reasons and it remains online. I've gotten a few boilerplate responses saying they need more info to verify my identity. I provide that and the circle starts over again. Even if a report cannot be purchased, my data must be removed from the sites. (My name, age, locations and relative MAY be listed in Intelius site cache. *** shows me the data is still live on the site.) See URLS listed in attached screenshots. Here they are too.*** Thank you for your help.

The company Intelius and its affiliated/sister companies and parent company People Connect has compiled a dossier containing sensitive information such as my full address, full legal name, their website also states it possesses my telephone number and additional information which I have been unable to verify. The company offers to provide this information to anyone for a fee. In doing so this company is bringing unnecessary attention to me and making information about me that I actively work to keep private, publicly available. This negatively impacts my privacy and general well-being and feeling of safety knowing anyone such a potential 'doxxer (information leaker)', stalker or other 'unfriendly individual' could use to harm *** have made informal attempts to resolve the conflict:1. The company's parent site offers a way to 'manage'/'suppress' one's personal information using their 'suppression tool'. This tool however seems to want the user to establish an account of sorts and to agree to a privacy policy and terms and conditions which contain a arbitration agreement which does have an opt out and a mandatory class action wavier. In a sense this almost feels like extortion by requiring me to surrender my legal rights to protect myself in order to delist information which should be private by default.2. Called the company directly to express my concerns and attempt to resolve the issue, 'customer service' was not helpful and directed me back to the suppression tool saying it was the only option.3. Contacted the company's privacy contact as listed however the email bounced as the recipient server failed to accept my email.Unfortunately due to the unsatisfactory responses I have revived, I have found it necessary to involve the Better Business Bureau in the hopes it can provide assistance before I consider the involvement of additional parties or any other legal means available to me.

I contacted Intelius on December 6th, 2022 for the removal of my personal information to let them know that their removal suppression tool is not working, I have sent several emails with links to the reports and screenshots, requesting the deletion of my information from Intelius and I have not received an answer. My information is still on the Intelius website, my last email sent was on January 6th, 2023.They ask for a lot of information which then is added to their website, every information added into their suppression tool for verification it is saved and then later on it is added to their website. They are not being honest with the public. Under the *** as a *** resident, I have the right to request the deletion of my personal information from all data brokers' websites.

I paid 95cents for a phone lookupthat much is ok. Intelius has subsequently tried to charge me $34.95 twice. I did not seek other services or download any files. The charge was disputed by *** and yet they tried to charge a second time again. The site appears to be a scam and am reporting it as such

I paid $0.99 for look up a phone number. Before I paid, it stated it has more information. After I paid,. It showed, their were no additional information. What a waste of time, and money. The company needs to be shut down to prevent more people from false advertising, and fraud. I am also going to file a complaint with FTC, and CA attorney general.Cancel my membership, and refund my $0.99.

Purchase Intelius service for a back ground check which I need for my work. Upon reviewing my report it is not even close to accurate. It lists employment that I've never had, addresses where I've never lived, homes I've never purchased, didn't find any criminal history report (which was one of the main reason I purchase I needed to have the exact dates for *** I had) Spouse was wrong, they didn't even get my race correct. It was missing 90% of my employment history, with only a couple accrue jobs listed. They listed my brothers and sisters but per there report I'm related to about 25 other people I've never heard of.On and on and on ..It's like they just took some random information and put it together on a report.

Data brokers like Intelius are a public nuisance. I don't know what service you think you are providing by publicly posting personal details including address, home phone number and *** data online. This puts seniors at risk. It is completely unethical and disgusting. In order to suppress your information, Intelius asks you to sign up for an account. It is free, but this is nonsense. I don't want an account or any sort of relationship with Intelius. How about don't post people's information against their will? Please remove the data from *** at the following link:

I've tried for several days to use the peopleconnect suppression tool to get rid of mine and my family's information. I've attempted to go to ***, scroll down that page of utter bs and find the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link. I "requested a copy of my data" and on the page I then licked "Right to opt out" and then "Do not share user data". I waited for 48 hours and nothing has changed.Get rid of mine and my family's information. Anything related to my contact info and the numbers ***.You're a trash company full of trash people.

In the past I have opted out of having my name listed on the website of the data broker, Intelius.com. They removed my name but it is now back. Their opt out procedure is no longer in place and they are now asking those who wish to be removed to agree to their terms of service first. I am not a customer of *** and therefore do not want to agree to any of their terms. I just want my named removed once again from their listings.

Intelius refuses to honor my cancellation request. Ive now submitted multiple requests to cancel the subscription; I havent used the subscription since requesting the cancellation and still they continue to charge my account. Their website has changed when I log in and the option to cancel doesnt appear.

Intelius.com I would give a three star because the results told

I would give a three star because the results told only first name but not the last name. So. This helps a little. The results did not provide the address. The also provide the location of the phone number. This is how Intelius works for me for finding a phone number. First, type the whole phone number including the areacode. Secondly, pay for fee either with a credit card or debit card. Thirdly, wait until you receive an email from them. They will email you whether not they find it. Fifth, view the results. Good luck. It depends what phone number you are searching. Some numbers are more private than others. Last but not least, do not use Spokeo and peoplesmart=scam.

I needed to run just one search, so purchased a one-month membership. There was absolutely no pressure to renew, which is very refreshing. I easily found the information I needed. Excellent product and customer service.

I signed up for a one time lookup and forgot to cancel. When I called to inquire about the charges, the rep was sympathetic and helpful. Got a month refund, yet a continued month to use the service. My rep was enthusiastic and easy to talk to. Wish I caught her name to give her Kudos!

Intelius.com GOOD company!

My personal experience with Intelius is completely at variance with all these poor ratings. Intelius is an information search company, and they're the best, period. Perhaps equally important, they have integrity. There was a small automated-payment misunderstanding, and they returned my money with no hassle. I think this kind of honesty is esp. Important in an area like this. Nobody can work miracles, but if the information is there, these people will have it. Five stars, definitely!

Intelius.com A Reliable Services Provider

I have used the services of Intelius to dig up some data for the sake of promotion of my business and to my surprise, the entire experience went very well. I don't know why people have given negative ratings and reviews to Intelius on petty issues that also happen with other service providers and come under the category of technical issues for which you can't blame a service provider. Of course, I came across some issues as well during the process of getting desired details however, those issues were not worth noticing and the technicians and support staff from Intelius were courteous enough to help me out and resolve my issues. I am definitely going to get the services of Intelius if such requirements for my business rise again because as a business person I know how difficult it is to find a reliable vendor that is capable of providing quality services with a minimum of issues.

Intelius.com Horrible people, accuracy and will keep charging you

I purchased a background report and saw the fine print that in buying it you would be automatically enrolled in their monthly subscription. (Which is possibly the stupidest subscription. Who would need tons of background reports per month? If you're a legitimate company you sure as hell wouldn't be using this inaccurate crap.) I figured, "No matter, I will purchase my report and promptly unsubscribe." So I did just that. I received an email confirming that "no further charges" would be issued. I wish I could post the email to show you how clear this was! NO CHARGES would be made past the specified date, 11/2/2015.

Then same as reported before (wish I saw these before buying!) a nice little amount was taken out of my account on 11/9/2016. Fabulous. So, I gave the lovely company a call.

Not only was the report inaccurate (I know because I ran it on myself) and not only were they dipping into my account when they specifically said they would stop further charges, but the customer service was horrible! She was downright rude!

I went into the call thinking they were still a legitimate company so I explained the scenario thinking that they would apologize and refund me that amount. She asked for my info, and when I took longer than three second to find the card I used she blurted out "If you can't find it, you can just call us back when you do". Um, lady, it's in my hand. I walked eight feet to retrieve it, calm down. Of course you will have rude service when you get rude customers calling you and why would only rude customers call a company? Because the company is wronging it's customers. So she created a rude customer out of me. After she explained that there is a charge if you cancel too early (and if you cancel too late you pay the next months subscription fee remember) I realized it was quite a nice little scam they have going. I will cancel my card if they continue to charge it.

In short. Stay away! DO NOT purchase anything from them and I hope to see the company disappear soon.

Found a lot of inconsistencies when searching myself. Information that this company pulls from needs updating/correcting. Unsure that information on other reports may not be dependable. I will continue to view other searches of people that I know well to see the validity on the information. I will continue my evaluation of this site. There may be better background search available. I called customer service with my concerns and the customer service person was wonderful! Knowledgeable, friendly, patient, understanding of my concerns. A pleasure to work with. She was the reason I will continue my subscription for a month during my evaluation. I gave this three stars because I haven't made a decision at this moment if more or less is warranted.

I had two problems with the company. First and foremost, the information for me was 75% incorrect because it was my fathers information and not mine. We don't have the same first name. I wish I could give 0 stars because I paid for a report that didn't show correct information. Second, they make you pay trial or subscription fee, but they don't tell you up front there is yet ANOTHER fee to download the *** report to view and save. It is an unethical business practice.

I'm so many others that complain about this service or lack their of. I did not get the report I ask for and was charged the $0.99 and the $3.99 also the monthly charge of $29.99 all at once. I cancel my account the next day...in order the stop the reoccurring monthly charge. This is a real disservice. I really need your service and help to resolve this complaint.

I dont know why anyone would use this service. The vast majority of the information listed is completely false and not accurate at all. If there was an option to get a refund I would take it. I had it for approximately 20 minutes and canceled my membership because the information provided was the most false I have ever seen. If i could give them zero stars I would.

Ok, so I typed into the *** search bar "Free People Search Report No fee" and up popped Intelius along with a dozen or so other sites. I spent the time signing up and waiting for data to "generate" just to ultimately be charged approximately $23 for their "free" report. Intelius is also scams their customers with the $1/wk trial and never ends after the 7th day which not only charges you the full amount until you cancel but also tacks on as many miscellaneous charges they can think of (I swear it's a diversion tactic). I don't think they offer a online chat customer service option so your only other options are to email them and hope you get a response before you forget about it or to call them which more often than not means you spend 2 hours on the phone with 7 different reps because the first 6 "dropped" your call. After all that chaos don't let your emotions show because if your voices changes an octive they will refuse to help you claiming verbal abuse (which I feel is yet again only used as a diversation to the real issue). Finally a rep is tech savy enough to navigate your online profile which you are forced to sign up only to have your spirit broke when they tell you that the charges are mentioned in the fine print, which if you haven't suffered a brain aaneurysm by this point its an absolute miracle. Depending on your representive and what they ate for lunch you may or may not be issued a refund, but only after they have berated you to the point that the vein in your top right temple can be seen pulsing. Lastly, I take your gaslighting tactics to be a direct threat to my personal well being, I thought false advertisement as illegal? But you also use the same advertisement on your sister company Zabasearch.com.

This site advertises a list of information you will receive when you purchase the report. Among the listed is marriage and divorce info. This is not true in states where that info is not free to access, ex ***.Also there is an extra charge just to download the file. This site to me is a scam due to false advertising.

First of all, the A+ BBB rating is not accurate at qlall. Most people come to the *** site to determine a feel for a business' integrity. Don't be fooled. It says in fine print that the ratings don't take customer reviews into account. The *** can help some customers resolve issues with the company, but they have no authority to make them change their business practuces, they might help negotiate a refund for their bad business practices but nothing more. I don't know how the BBB ever got a good reputation for helping customers--this business (Intelius) lis a perfect example of why the BBB should not have such a reputation. If you continue to hit the button, "Load more reviews," you'll find that any reviews scoring 2 or above stars show up in the first few pages of results. The rest are 1-star reviews which represent the true practices of this business. Filing a complaint with the BBB is the only way to change that dubious A+ rating, which most people won't take the time to do. Sure, it's great to vent, but venting isn't what changes the A+ ating; filing complaints does. Please take the extra step to complain to the BBB (not just post a review) so you can help the unsuspecting consumer who comes after you, who and sees and relies on that untrustable A+ rating.

I ordered 2 reports but thought they were free. I then was charged a monthly fee. When I discovered this I called the *** number and they refunded all the charges other than the initial charge.

This company implies we can receive basic info on a phone number for free, and will have the option to pay for a complete report. After they waste our time (on a process that's quicker on some of the other websites) we find out that they don't even give that basic information for free. This service is a scam. I signed up for one, and one only, search. After I went through about 15 minutes of propaganda, finally the search was allegedly finished. I paid for only one search for a little over $24. Once I paid that, a message showed up that I would have to pay another $3.99 to download the report, which they had never told me I would be forced to pay. Then, I pressed the download button, and kept getting the same message over and over again, that they were going to charge me $3.99 to download the report. I have no idea how many times they charged my card. I could never download the report, so I called customer service, and waited over 20 minutes. Finally, a customer service representative comes to the phone and fails to solve my problem. I asked for my money back, and we shall see if I get it. What a monumental waste of time.
