I took my elderly cat, Mabel, in to VCA to find out why she wasn't walking. The vet, Shelby Drake, took her and put her on the floor and my poor cat ended up on her face cause she couldn't stand up-duh. My husband and I were mortified. Then it took my cat 15-20 minutes to be euthanized (she's 9 lbs! It should only take 1-2 minutes). The vet shot her up 3-4 times. I asked her if this was normal, to which she replied "no, she's being stubborn." Again, we were upset and my husband walked out of the room. After my sweet Mabel finally passed, the vet asked me if I wanted to spend more time with her. I said "no, i can't do this anymore", then she left the room. I followed her out and asked if anyone was going to come get my cat as I won't leave her on the f-ing table alone. When I left the place, my hubby spoke to the manager and gave her a piece of his mind and we were refunded the fee. This is not acceptable. We are very traumatized and need accountability from this office.
Desired outcome: No other family should go through this nightmare.
