Street light at the corner of 1138 wentwood drive and crescent in desoto, texas
I contacted Oncor @ 6:53AM and spoke to several Customer Representatives. I was advised on November 28th @ 6:46PM that someone from the Escalation team would be contacting me concerning the Street Light not working. I spoke to an Escalation Supervisor, Kimberly from Central Texas who created a Case # (1212153). Due to our community being made up of many...

We had a power outage, and they checked my lines in the night hours, around 2 A.M. to 4:00 A.M. During the night I kept getting text updates from Oncor and I heard a truck going fast down my road and knew it was Oncor. I am a recent widow. When my daughter came to my house the following day she called and was very upset as someone was very careless driving...
Read full review of OncorLeaving a hole in my back yard and a wire traveling across the yard.
While I am soooo grateful for Oncor's rapid response to my voltage issue, I am NOT grateful about how they left their repairs. On 9/11/23 Oncor had to come out and locate and repair a voltage issue. The end result being a hole covered by a board and cardboard box, a pile of dirt, a red cone to alert one of the treacherous hole, and a cable traveling from the meter box to the hole in the ground. How does a professional company of dangerous electrical equipment be allowed to leave a wire running across the ground exposed to the elements? See attached photos.
Fortunately I do not have children who could be electrocuted by the wire, but I have dogs who like to chew on things. What am i supposed to do with this wire!? Not only is this ridiculous but completely unacceptable!
Desired outcome: I would like the wire to be placed properly. NOT running across the ground. Preferably traveling along the house. At least where it isn't a trip hazard or a tempting chew toy. I would like the hole filled in. They can have their cone back!

Meter replacement outages
I received an estimated bill saying that my usage went up on two days that I was without power? I called Oncor to check usage maybe get it replaced an I was transferred as I sat on hold for about 5 minutes then my call was disconnected , On August 10th and 12th in Wichita Falls , Tx but my meter is flashing the same thing , I have kept my house at 80 degrees , turned off everything an my meter usage keeps going up, I tried to register on Smart meter and now I to wait , I need to know the last time my meter was replaced? I believe it was in 2010 or 2013
Desired outcome: Replace my meter and someone to double check usage
Oncore service and cost
My email is [protected]@yahoo.com Around May 26th we needed a meter hooked up for a RV and a couple of light poles. June 6th we a Oncore representative came out and told us what we would have to do, he said if we did a meter stand a kept it under 200 feet that it should not cost anything that it would be a permanent installation. We Hired a electrician to put up a meter rack and we kept it at 170’ from the pole this cost us over $6,000.00 then the Oncore representative came back out for a inspection and it did not past had to get electrician back out to put in another ground wire it finally past but the Oncore representative came back and said their standards have changed it now we had to pay for them to install the underground line because now it was not considered a permanent installation. We had to pay $2,268.50 for them to do it. Had no choice because we already spent over $6,000.00 for a electrician to do the other work. Then later a contractor for Oncore came out to do a temporary line and said he could not do it for this was a permanent installation he would have to check with his supervisor the following week a contractor for Oncore came out to mark the way it was to be dug out and then another contractor came out to dig and put the pvc and wire and then a few days later a contractor came out to hook it to the pole then a few days later a Oncore employee came out to hook it to the meter July 28th they finally finished. All the contractors and the Oncore employee that did the meter said this was a permanent installation it we should not have had to pay for this. And they left their wire they cut on the ground at the pole and the meter for the customer to clean up when they should have clean their mess up. This took a long time to get this all done and I feel I should not have had to pay for the underground installation once I was told it would not cost me anything. Because Oncore standards change after it was told and I already had a electrician come out to do the work for me. WO [protected]
Desired outcome: I feel I should get my $2,268.50 back, and that the service should be done a lot faster and they should clean their wire or whatever they leave
Disconnect/ reconnect
A few weeks ago I called due to a tree limb on a line on my property. I was told because it was on my property I would have to hire a tree service to come out and cut the limb but in order to due so would have to do a disconnect and reconnect service. Y’all were schedule to come out Thursday morning and that did not happen, my tree service people came but could not work due to the fact that y’all did not show up.
I called that day to rescheduled for disconnect and that service was schedule today. Y’all disconnected at 10 AM, I informed the person who was handling my case at 3:30 that the tree service men were done. It’s almost 9 PM and no one has showed up to reconnect my line.
THIS WAS SCHEDULED! This was supposed to happen today!
I’m 10 hours without power, my house is almost 90’s degrees.
Y’all didn’t show up last week and you haven’t finished the job today.
Super frustrated, hot and annoyed. My animals and I have to leave tonight because of no AC due to no electricity.
All my food is going to be lost that’s in my fridge because when I called these evening to see what the hold up was I was told my power would not be restored until the morning.
This is acceptable!
Desired outcome: Reconnect my power ASAP!!!!
Did not receive any information about service call
On 07/27/2023 3:00 pm A Utility Pole on our property (Carder Concrete Co./C&N Properties 13501 N Hwy 171, Cresson, TX 76035) was hit by our Truck. The electrical pole was split at bottom and leaning towards fence, electrical box was bent and doors knocked off. Concerned about having an outage or possible fire if pole was to fall. Called Oncor customer service requesting service to determine condition. Sent pictures to customer service rep (who was a woman and very helpful and knowledgeable-Loved her) Oncor Truck came on our property to check out. Did not come into our office to report their analysis?
I did not receive a call back about the situation. Had to call Oncor Customer Service back only to be told the service report had been closed?
I was the person who called it in-Terry O'Grady/Office Mgr. I left our office phone number as well as my personal cell phone.
I do not understand why no one informed me? I was the person that called it in?
Desired outcome: I do not understand why the Oncor Service person did not come into the office or at least call me to report a resolution to the problem. The lack of communication was unexcusable and disrespectable.
6806 Prosper Dallas, TX 75209
The new house across the alley (6806 Prosper) has used poor judgement in putting their power source in the wrong place.
All houses on that side of Prosper St. get their power source from the front of the street, not the alley. (Photo #2)
This builder has gone way out of bounds by putting his power source under ground in the middle of the alley at our back fence preventing our plans to install a gate for putting out our trash bins. (photo #1)
He extended his fence to the edge of the alley, leaving no space for trash bins, (jpeg 836) and has also limited our entry and exit via the back gate.
My husband has already messed up the back door of his truck.
The neighbor of 6806 Prosper came over to complain that he is affected on his alley exit, also.
He will also build on the adjoining lot, and we don’t want him to reduce alley entrance for sanitation trucks.
Desired outcome: To have the T Pole work stopped, and not install another pole in the alley. To have the builder Re route his power source, to the front (photo 2 street view) To stop the intrusion.
Electric connection
My circuit breaker tripped and the electrician identified the root cause as the connection from Oncor to the meter was loose contact and the vibration was creating fluctuations in voltage and found the wire was burning as well. They replaced the meter board and required and Oncor came and reconnected the cable. The inspection was done by city after 24 hours of repair and they called Oncor to clear the repair. Oncor did not send anyone to Connect that involves plugging in the meter. I called and they charged 110 dollars for their fault, which is ok, but still have not send anyone to hook up connection. They said their turnaround time is 48 hours. They refused to add it is an emergency to the reconnect ticket but anther nice agent added that comment. My dog almost had a heat stroke and I moved to a hotel because Oncor said “you do what you can to maintain your lifestyle”. As of 48 hours I am without power and still no ETA from Oncor.
Desired outcome: Please turn on power for me. Reimburse 110 dollars and hotel charges. Apologize for insensitive comments when I said my dog is having a heat stroke.
Oncor not doing what they get paid to do
Why do we have to paywhen a meter is changed. The city as a whole spends almost a million a year for maintenance only and if the wind picks up here the electric goes out. It cuts in and out all the time. It's ridiculous. Why do they get half the amount we pay on our bill. Was that some kind of deal that ercot came up with. They get half the amount we pay every time. Why not a flat rate. Nothing they do goes by how much electricity the city uses. All they do is fix outages and that's it. That's the only times they actually work on our lines. Then they charge for meters. It's horse crap Sorry about the string language but it's true. The telephone poles out here wobble and all the electrical equipment on the poles looks like it's been there since the 60s. We need am upgrade. I'd like an itemized list of everything oncor does for the million a year honey grove citizens as a whole pay. I want to know what all oncor does for that money.
Desired outcome: I'd like an itemized lists of all services and repairs that oncor does here in honey grove texas for a whole year. 2022 would be fine. My email is b.[protected]@gmail.com.
Complete HVAC System Destroyed
I have attached (photo) the Claim filed with Oncor on 5/28/23.
Claim was denied by Oncor 6/2/23.
Claim Representation: Noe Lopez/[protected]
I have also attached (photo) the quote for replacement of our HVAC by Kingdom Cooling & Heating/[protected]
We were without A/C for 2 weeks. Concerned about safety, we decided to go forward with the replacement of our system. Temps are expected to be over 100 degrees this week and dangerous, as we are both elderly. Receipt (photo) attached.
Desired outcome: Fair and reasonable compensation for the expenses incurred to replace our HVAC system.
Transformer condition supplying electrical to neighborhood
There is one transformer located across the street in another person’s backyard that always blows. Every time this happens during a bad electrical storm and during the beg ice storm a few years ago. Oncor seems to just piece it back together somehow and it’s really is not good enough. The whole other side of the street never loses electricity where this transformer is located, but this whole block on the opposite side of the street does. I’d say it affects about 100 households every time
Desired outcome: Replace with modern equipment/update quality.
Power outage 6 times in last 10 days
Over the last 10 days our power has gone out 6 times. This started May 29th. It has gone out every day for the last 5 days in a row. Each time it is usually out for at least an hour, and sometimes 2 hours. It has affected everyone in the west side of the Buffalo Creek Subdivision in Heath, and perhaps others.
I called Oncor Monday morning June 5th, and they said someone would contact me within 48 hours, but they have not done that.
Desired outcome: I want someone to talk to me to explain why this keeps happening, and I want an assurance that the problem has been fixed so it does not continue happening.
Power shut off
My power was switch to another service provider without my permission. In result today my oower was cut off and I work from home. They did not want to provide me with the information of who did it and the person name. I work from home and was in the middle of training. They said it would take up to 2 hour s to restore service. This is unacceptable and should be Illegal. I had to loss time and money due to someones negligence. I need anwser on how you sre going to resolve the issue and it not happen again. If I had a medical issue and need my power we would be in court!
Desired outcome: Power still off benn off since 2pm
Refund the back pay and continue to charge the use from here on out.
January 2022 I took over a business in Arlington, TX. December 2022 Oncor came in to my place of business was not sure why, but they turned the power off for 2 minutes. Thought it was just regular maintenance check did not think anything of it. Not a word was said to me. January 26th 2023 I received a letter from oncor stating my meter was tampered with. After 2 months of investigating from Reliant energy and oncor I was left being told that the bill is correct and I had to pay over $7k. Oncor called and told me they had knowledge I did not tamper with the meter but was still responsible for 6 months of use and should be satisfied they didn't charge a tampered meter fee. I was told I would not be disconnected because the case was still pending. When I received the bad news I was left with 3 days to pay or my power to my business would be cut off. March 21st 2023 my power was shut off called reliant to work a payment plan or anything to keep my business on and was left with nothing to do but pay the full amount. After many other hoops to jump through I finally got the power back on a week later. I switched electric companies January 2022 don't understand why oncor would wait an entire year to check my meter.
Desired outcome: Should take accountability for waiting a whole year for meter check reading if the owner and electric companies has changed.
Easement Damage:
Oncor subcontractor killed two large trees while drilling to get to transformer. They attached heavy chains to the roots as an anchor. I pointed out to foreman that the machine was uprooting the trees and he ignored me. They repeatedly assured me that they would make good. I suggested they donate repair money to Meals on Wheels. They have consistently avoided responsibility and yesterday denied the claim.
Desired outcome: Please donate replacement costs of two fifteen foot tall photonia trees to Meals On Wheels.
Repeated outages & long restore times
Over the last 5 years, my neighborhood has repeatedly lost power for extended periods of time no matter what size storm, wind etc…Same 12-15 homes. Obviously the “band aide” fixes are not working. Oncor has failed to maintain their line’s & equipment causing extreme hardships due to missed work, spoiled food & hotel fees just to name a few. Figure out why the same customers are always losing power; Replace the old equipment, get the trees away from the lines…be proactive, do something different
Desired outcome: Fewer outages, faster restoration times & fix what is causing the same handful of homes to lose power in 1st place
Power is frequently out
We are seniors and have to deal with frequent outages that impact our physical, mental and emotional health. You have to do something different as we can’t continue to lose power and have no access - please make the necessary changes and repairs and do your jobs that we so heavily rely on. We are disgusted and at our wits end. Fix the problems and stop making excuses. If I did that on my job I would be fired.
Desired outcome: Restore power that has been out over 12 hours and limit monthly outages.
Service/meter
I'm an elderly woman on a fixed income. The months of December 2022 thru February 2023 I am away from home living with my daughter due to illness and my electric bill was increased with nothing running in the house. No one is living in the house, so why was my bill increased almost $200? I feel like I have been scammed and I am left struggling to pay an electric bill that Just Energy seems to blame on Oncor. I am very upset that I barely can afford a light bill that I did not create. I need my meter (143761981LG) serviced and I would like to see the results before and after.
Desired outcome: Assistance with my electric bill through Just Energy: meter 143761981LG
Disconnect with no proof of reason or who was logged in to come shut off my energy from pole
On Jan 5th around 5pm a Oncor employee came and stood on sidewalk about 7 feet from meter and breaker box which is located under meter and first words he said was “what” I said what’s the problem he said they had a call stating their was some tampering with meter and I told him theirs no tampering with meter the box your looking at that is open is my breaker box I blew a fuse and capping off my stove line being I’m moving soon. He said nobody is allowed to open that box but a electrician and instead of taking closer look he took no pictures just went on up post and shut me off. Company has no records of who was the employee or knowledge of the inspector that came next day for proof of tampering to give the order that it was a mistake and turn power on. Today is Jan 9th last 4 days I was with no power and no answers to turning my power back but was told they apologize for the mistake and power will be on shortly, never was turned on weather was under 40• at night I just got out hospital for getting runner over in a wheelchair disabled and no heat or electric and my 2 ball pythons at 6 years old have died for not having heat lamp or heat at all for so many days and I’m disabled can’t find my way to restroom in total dark gutted my self. Surgery wound reopened and till this day present they have no recognition of any prior calls about my service being turned back on and my electric provider even called Oncor and told them my ACOUNT is positive and paid up to date no reason why it should’ve been turned off besides the reason they stated tampering with no evidence or proof which I believe was a inside job “favor” for landlord being we are in a court dispute which will be the second time they did this I’m assuming to get me to move out. First time was weeks till I got my power back now it’s happening again the run around and no proof or recognition of who came to shut off or who was the inspector that came in a personal vehicle. I would like to take further actions and be composted for my list of pets and my well being disabled and going thru this with no electricity which my house runs on only. So no light, no heat, no answers just a run around. And after a year I still got a no switch with no proof why or stating I agreed being they gave me a offer that they didn’t hold up too but still kept the no switch on which cost me 3 times the pay for having to have a prepaid service wich now I should have Compisation for now
Desired outcome: Compisation for lost of pets and my injury due to their mistake. And drop the no switch on my name
