I purchased a ticket to Acapulco from Phoenix in September 2023. On Oct 25 class 5 hurricane Otis hit and devastated Acapulco. On November 23 Aeromexico sent me an email saying they have cancelled my flight due to the hurricane.
Since November 23 I have been calling Orbitz on a weekly basis to get my money refunded. They keep telling me they have to follow the airline’s policy which is to send them an email and wait. I have called over and over with this same reply. I have also called Aeromexico and they have told me since the flight was booked with Orbitz I have to deal only with Orbitz.

Orbitz over charged me after the final payment date. Threaten to cancel my trip, never completed a pending refund. I lost over 60 hours trying to solve this. Made a BBB complaint and still no final answer. Every time we call they make the same excuse in nothing gets done. I contacted them several times, they denied all the incidents and tried to say that the cruise company was wrong. Nothing was done.

Orbitz canceled my airline ticket for 7/9/23 without informing me. The Orbitz website showed all the details of my trip, but when I got to the airport, the airline told me that Orbitz had canceled my ticket. My husband had a ticket, but I did not. I tried to contact Orbitz via their help chat, but the virtual agent told me they could not reissue the ticket because they had refunded my bank account. We searched online for a number to call, but the wait for assistance was 30 minutes. I had to purchase a new ticket from the airline at a much higher cost, and had to return from my trip separately from my husband. If I had booked directly with the airline, this could not have happened. I depended on the Orbitz website to give me correct, up to date info about my booking, and I did not imagine anything could be canceled without me receiving an email about any change. I was wrong. It's much safer to book directly with the airline.
Won’t let me change check in date without exorbitant fees
I will never advise hotel booking on Orbitz. First of all, I prepaid the whole thing on the condition that I can change or cancel.
But when it comes time to change, they will not honor it. Instead of agreeing to change the check in date like a normal operator, they insist on canceling the whole booking and making a brand new booking—which means much higher price and screwing the customer.
I was astounded how they don’t care one bit about customer or honoring their commitment (I’ve been one for almost 2 decades).
And the customer service has degraded so much. They don’t even bother to list a phone number—just “virtual assistant” that can barely help you in real time.
Desired outcome: Let me check in the hotel one day late and refund me for that one day.

Orbitz has my money in an account that I cannot access; it is expiring this year and I do not know how to access it.
I have tried contacting Orbitz to access my account, but their customer care phone number does not connect to an Operator (auto-mated options go round and round and do not connect); I do not get a response via email or phone/customer service.
The canceled itinerary# was [protected]. We have until late 2023 to reschedule/rebook, but I cannot access my account info with customer service help

Airline ticket purchase
In 2020 we bought 2 tickets to Amman, Jordan via Orbitz on Royal Jordanian Airlines. Due to covid, Jordan closed their country down and no visitors were allowed. We cancelled out tickets because we couldn’t fly there and about a eeek later the flight itself was cancelled. I tried to get a refund from Orbitz because even though we cancelled the flight before Orbitz did, it shouldn’t have mattered since Jordan shut down their country. I called Orbitz about a refund, they sent me to Royal Jordanian, who sent me back to Orbitz, who sent me back to Jordanian, who sent me back to Orbitz with an email and clear explanation as to why Orbitz was responsible. Orbitz continually told me on subsequent calls that they would escalate the issue and get back with me. They never did and I was never refunded. That was almost $1800 that we never got back. It is very frustrating to be out that much money.
Desired outcome: I want a refund for that trip.
Similiar situation happened to me. Orbitz did extend the flight to 2023, but now I cannot access my account information or Orbitz to use it...and it is expiring soon. Very frustrating. Orbitz should not be allowed to just take people's money
Rental Car Insurance
Reserved a rental car through website, itinerary [protected] for April 13th. Also purchased collision insurance with the understanding that if the car was not picked up there would be no charge for the car or the insurance. Cancelled the car using the virtual assistant on morning of April 13th but it would not let me cancel the insurance. Contacted Orbitz on April 21st through chat and they refused to refund the money for the insurance. This was clearly collision insurance, not travel insurance and should be automatically cancelled if the car is not picked up.
Desired outcome: Orbitz needs to refund the insurance policy as the car it was covering was never picked up or driven.
Airline Ticket Voucher
I purchased two United Airlines tickets on January 18, 2020, but the flight was canceled due to Covid restrictions. I periodically checked the voucher expiration date and in January 2023 the expiration date of the tickets was 12/23. Two weeks ago and again today I tried to find the vouchers and while the company shows the flight was canceled, they are unable to give me any of the flight or voucher information. There is a glitch in a program that indicates they are experiencing problems and to try back later. I have tried back repeatedly with no luck. Today an agent in chat could not give me an itinerary number or a booking number for the canceled flights. Since I booked through Orbitz, they are responsisble for this information and am finding it infuriating that $2000.00 of flight vouchers have disappeared!

Company doesn't give a refund for their error
What happened:
I booked a car from their site, and the website needed to be refreshed, so I refreshed the page and went back to the car that I wanted and booked it however, what I didn't realize is that my start and end dates for the rental changed when the page refreshed.
Why are they so bad:
When asked for a refund, they say that the car rental company doesn't offer a refund, but I see a charge from Orbitz and not from the rental company, and they don't want to give me a full refund even though it was an error from their site since it changed the dates on a refresh. They're blaming it on the car rental company, but I see a charge from them! Every professional company will offer you a full refund for an error that occurred on their end, EXCEPT Orbitz.

A credit due to me
I booked a flight for myself and my wife from LAX to Cabo San Lucas. I also purchased a trip protection offered by Orbitz, in case we have a change of plans. I cancelled our tickets a few days later and since I purchased a travel protection, I was able to receive a full credit on my Orbitz account against purchase of future tickets. That credit is displayed in my account and is valid for a year.
Two weeks later, I booked a brand new trip to New York and was given an option by Orbitz to use that credit. I did click "Yes" to the credit, but as soon as my final total amount was displayed, no credit was given to me against this purchase.
I called Orbitz support team and spent OVER TWO HOURS talking with various reps and supervisor, who found this issue too complex for them and they were unable to help me.
Desired outcome: I need to be able to use my credit against a future purchase, as displayed on my account.
Celebrity cruise line booking
We booked a 7 day cruise on board Celebrity Reflections leaving Fort Lauderdale cruising the Caribbean and back again on the dates of March 19th through the 26th. We used Orbitz to book the cruise. On the Orbitz web site it clearly stated that tips, drink package and wifi are included. We get on board the ship go to pick up our room cards only to find out that what was clearly indicated on the Orbitz website was not present. No gratuity, no drink package, and no wifi. We escalated the problem to guest relations and called Orbitz which was a total waste of time. We got some foreign customer service agent who was unable to help us. Then we escalated the problem to an Orbitz supervisor. Still no resolution. We took a screen shot of the web page that showed the package including drinks, wifi, and gratuity. Emailed it to a Celebrity guest relations agent who spent the next 24 hours calling Orbitz without resolution. So I ask what the drink package, wifi, and gratuity costs per person and the Celebrity guest relations agent says 700 for the drink package, 140 for the wifi, and 17 per day for the gratuity. For two people that adds up to the cost of the cruise that we paid Orbitz. Ridiculous. If I were Celebrity or Orbitz to preserve customer good will I would have given us the package. No such luck. We decided to go ala carte on the drinks, no wifi, and no gratuity. And my wife and I resolved never to use Orbitz again and this is our first and last Celebrity cruise. And we will give negative reviews and word of mouth due to this experience.
Desired outcome: Refund Ala carte charges.

Airline tickets
I bought three round trip airplanes tickets for my international trip from orbits travel about five months in advance but when we got to the airport we are unable to check in due to one airline didn’t issue the tickets So we had to buy three new tickets with a thousand dollars more for each ticket. They messed up my plan. Now they said they just refund my money for the original ticket. That’s not fair for me to paid $3000.00 more because of theirs faults. Firs off...I've been using Orbitz for over 10 years. I consider myself a loyal customer...until yesterday. I made a reservation for a car in Chicago, reservation [protected] with Dollar rental on Feb 11 at OHare Airport.
I had to cancel the reservation about an hour after I made the booking due to work plan changes. I have never been charged upfront for a car rental. I went online to cancel the reservation on Friday, Feb 10, and it wouldnt let me. I contacted the help portal and worked with an agent for over an hour and she said she couldnt contact Dollar for some reason. So I did, and Dollar said they wouldnt charge me the remaining amount until I picked up the car and was ok with cancelling the reservation, and the charge cancellation would come from Orbitz. So I called Orbitz back, went thru the whole process again with another agent, who confirmed with Dollar and was processing a refund from Orbitz for me. I got another email today feb 11, stating it was not resolved and the charges were not refunded. Spent another hour online trying to resolve it with another agent, who, after 1.5 hours realized it was being refunded. Wasted an hour and a half of my life for an errant email and an agent that couldnt see it was already resolved. See below from text box online:

I did take the travel protection, which Orbitz offered which is a joke. AIG which is insurance broker did not approve the claim. Europcar refused to accept the insurance I purchased with Orbitz and tried to sell me their insurance for 1,800.00 US for the 10 days. After I questioned the amount, they offered me one for 1,040.00 US which would cover 90% of any loss/damage. With no other choice, I accepted.
Health reasons then required me to bring the car back on 1.21.23 at noon.
Europcar said that I couldn't get a refund for the4 days of no use, neither for the car rental nor for the insurance.
Please let me know how I can get at the least some satisfaction?

Was denied boarding by Spirit Airlines
On January 12, 2023, I attempted to board flight number NK 239 with Spirit from BAQ to FLL. I was denied boarding by one of the rookie agents on that shift. I lost my flight thanks to them. I had purchased insurance for that flight with AIG, they don't want anything to do with that either.
Please give me other options before I do a chargeback, I am not going to lose $341.45 when I was never allowed on that flight.
