At Home Rewards charging credit card monthly

I just found charges on my credit card of 14.95 since september. it is from at home rewards. I never authorized these charges and called the number today. first they said they could cancel and not refund, i persisited and got a "manager" who offered to refund one month, i persisited and they put in a complaint request or something like that. we'll see. i think i know when it happened. some company called and i thought it was publishers clearing house which i order from sometimes and ended up ordering magazines. i cancelled that but i guess they gave my card number to someone else. beward of someone that calls or sends mail that looks like publishers clearing house. its a scam!

At Home Rewards unauthorized charge

Unauthorized monthly charges to my credit card of $14.95. The company's response to my complaint is that it is related to magazines and that I signed up as a member. Of course, I did not know I signed up for anything like a membership. I ordered magazines and paid for them in two installments; received magazines I had never heard of before or can use. The monthly charge appears to be fraudulent use of my card, accessed by payment for those magazine subscriptions.

I thought I sent this late last week. The complaint is that Continuity Subscription Merchants charged $79.00 to our Chase/Amazon.com credit card for service on March 12, 2014, that we never ordered. Now we are being dunned by mail and email for payment including late charges and interest totaling $15.98. As near as I can recall, we never activated this
account. The name of the company making the charge is not on the printed bill.

We would appreciate a response.

I received a bill today from Chase Visa/Amazon.com credit card service showing a charge of $79.00 plus $15.98 fees and interest. When I called the credit card people, I learned that Continuity Subscription Merchants submitted the charge on March 12, 2014. In the first place, I have never activated the card. In the second place, the card has never left my filing cabinet until ten minutes ago when I got it out to see if there was anything in the correspondence that would help.
I should very much appreciate your taking action in this matter or, if that's not what you do, advising me of what I must do. If you wish, I can send a copy of the bill I received today, May 2, 2014.
Thank you.
Yours truly, George W. Dicks, PhD

This fake online service goes out of there way to find credit card users info, than hit them with unknown charges. If you fail to catch it the first time they repeat the process to see how long they can get away with it. Your card company can only charge back a few months. The scam comes from Athomerewards or Passporttofun, which I report once and change my card number so it would not be hit again. They found the new charge number one a year later and began the process again.

Beware!

At Home Rewards UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES

AT HOME REWARDS HAS BEEN CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD $19.95 PER MONTH FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS WHICH I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. WHEN I SPOKE TO A "COSTUMER SERVICE" REPRESENTATIVE AND MANAGER, THERE WAS "NOTHING" THEY COULD DO ABOUT SENDING MY MONEY BACK.

On 10/22/08 I checked my credit card statement online so that I would know what balance was due. To my complete surprise, I saw a recent transaction for $14.95 from a merchant called "At Home Rewards". I had NEVER heard of them before so I did a little investigating. I just so happen to be a FRAUD INVESTIGATOR for the government. I "Googled" the company name and it took me to this site, Complaints.com, as well as to [redacted].com where I found NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS of UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES appearing on credit and/or debit cards. Luckily, I happened to catch this bogus charge only a day after it was posted so I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card company. I called the At Home Rewards number: [protected] and finally reached a representative after hitting zero on my phone. They have a computer, voice-prompted menu that won't allow you to talk to anyone directly unless you hit zero (they don't tell you that though ... I just tried it and got lucky). I first asked for the company address ... the rep. immediately was suspicious and wanted to know why I wanted the address (I knew this would happen, that's why I asked for the mailing address first). After much hesitation, the rep. finally gave me the adress: 9500 W. Dodge, Omaha, Nebraska 68001. Now, I have not yet mailed my letter (so that I have concrete proof that I canceled my membership via telephone), so I'm not sure if this is a bogus address. Do NOT just rely on the automated voice response which gives you the choice of canceling your membership by entering a number ... do that, but also press zero so that you can talk directly to a representative. Make sure to get their name, ID # and time that you called ... then tell the rep. that you NEVER AUTHORIZED this charge(s), have already disputed it w/ your credit card company or bank and that you have reported it as FRAUD. That will let the At Home Rewards Rep. know that you mean business! The rep. said I should see a credit for the $14.95 fee they charged to my credit card within 2 - 5 business days ... Let's just see if they refund the fee like they said.

This company charged my credit card $14.95 for something I never ordered or authorized. After submitting a question to the customer service department online, I received an email thanking my for registering with the company. SO, I would not recommend going online. Who knows what else I've gotten myself into?
I will be complaining to my state's Attorney General and disputing my charges with my credit card company.

I have throat cancer and can only whisper so I had to put my son on the on the phone when calling at home rewards to try to reverse the fraudulent withdrawl of funds from my bank account. They would not tell my son where they got my info from. The CSR, Nicole said she would cancell my account ( I never set one up!) and refund my bank ( $24.95). Lets see if they do, or if I'll have to find a way to sue them for fraud!

I received 2 un-authorized charges to my debit card for 14.95 each. One was for At home Rewards and the other for Shopping essentials. When I was able to contact At Home Rewards I was told that I accepted this when I placed an order for a product that I ordered from TV. I did not /nor would I accept additional items. They did in fact "Cancel" my membership and I was told that a refund would be processed. I will keep checking to see that it does! I also asked the girl if she had anything to do with Shopping essentials and was told that yes, they handle them as well. I again asked that my "membership be canceled and funds refunded. I don't understand how these people are still in business. I have learned my lessson and will no longer purchase any thing on line or from a tv ad again.

6 months ago I purchased a small electronic kitchen device (omlet maker) from an add on TV. They put about $50 more on my bill than was advertised on TV, and now they are still billing my credit card after I have canceled by phone several times. If I knew their address, I would call the police. They are crooks. Don't let them get hold of your credit card number or they will try to keep billing you til the day you die.

At Home Rewards billed my credit card for some membership that I did not authorize! When trying to track it down, all I can find out is it is somehow tied to either Southwest Airlines or Classmates.com! Of course, it's next to impossible to contact Classmates but I'm not giving up. This was a bunch of crap. I also learned there is another membership, Shopping Essentials. I'll be filing that one too...

my name is virginia .ardon, I signed up with a credit score company for a free credit report, I canceled my subscription and was given a cancelation number. However this company "subscription merchants keeps on debiting $29.95 out of my account every two weeks, my bank has been able to get my money back except for this last two charges of $29.95, my bank stated is best if I just cancel this debit card and get a new one issue. This is the only way to stop the continuing unathorized charges. God Bless You. Hope this is able to help anyone out there.

At Home Rewards Fraudulent credit card charges

I started seeing a deduction on my credit card statement and thought it was from a purchase made on e-bay. This month (May, 2007) I again noticed the deduction of $14.95 and started to look into it. Being a Sunday, the company was not open, I turned to the internet and found that a similar experience had happened to "Kevin". I then went back to my previous bills and the charge has been every month since January! I neither know what this is or what it is for, but at any rate, did not order anything from this company. I plan on notifying my Visa bank on Monday for fraudulent charges against ATHOMEREWASRDS. Has anyone else experienced this with this company?

just got hit with the $14.95 monthly unauthorized charge to my debit card yesterday by (athomerewards) and have contacted my bank's CSR who has noted or flagged this withdrawal as unauthorized. I was given an 877 number in Connecticut to call and contacted them (at-home-rewards). The phone rep said that they would reverse the charges but I am disturbed about the initial and possible repeated use of this scam. As I understand from the customer rep in my bank, Peoplefinders was the source of my credit/debit card data which they used. I had subscribed for a couple of months membership to Peoplefinders earlier this year or late last year to search for lost unclaimed property etc. These companies (Peoplefinders) should be strictly warned or blocked from giving access to their customer's credit card numbers to other companies without the cardholder expressly signing up for services or membership with that other company!

I have recently found a charge from them on my CC, unwanted and not asked for. I called my bank and they can do nothing but tell me it's a monthly charge (starting March 2008). I have a new number for them and will call today (Wednesday). Multiple e-mails to them from their site as well as the mother company (Adaptive Marketing) has resulted in nothing. I am sure they got my CC number from any of multiple sites they also own, like Credit Diagnosis and Privacy Matters 123. It's easy to find on the credit card because they start all charges with AP9 xxx. The number listed on the CC for them is [protected].

I also have been charged $14.95 three years after all those e-mails above me. They're still doing it, and they need to be stopped. You can do a Whois search and get the mother-company phone number.

Except for calling my bank every month to have the charge removed, I don't know what else to do. They have a "cancel" thing on their site, but with no member ID, I have no idea how to click it.

At Home Rewards Scam membership

This company takes advantage of consumers with valid credit cards and offers you many free gifts, but you need to surrender your credit card numbers for 5 different charges every month after a 30 days grace period. This is a big proof for everyone that nothing in this life is for free. Then, when you want to ask a question about those charges, they hang the phone on you, and you feel bad, stuck with those monthly charges on your card. Also, when you call back to cancel any membership, they give you the third degree.

They hit my bank account as well, for 19.95 a month.. When I called the number associated with the withdrawls... I spent 40 minutes pushing all the buttons, hopeing they would lead me to a real person, yet I found no one to answer or explain why they are taking my money. I called my bank to find out what they could tell me. I soon found that the bank knew all about them and I was told to seek remediation thru the Bank's Fraud Unit. I have initiated action to stop thier illegal deductions and am now seeking to recover the monies they stole from me.

At Home Rewards I know it's a scam, and I just want the calls to stop!

I had been receiving numerous phone calls on my cell from [protected]. I called the number back and, after several attempts, reached a representative to be removed from their list because this was a cell number. In less than an hour I got another phone call. I, again, called until someone picked up and demanded to speak directly to a supervisor. The representitive said, "I am the supervisor! What do you want?" and hung up on me. Of course they tagged me again and I answered "This is she" to a strangers name.

The opperator told me that the company was "At Home Rewards" and that they obtained my number through a credit card that I had recently signed up for (They called me some strangers name.) What kind of credit card, Visa, Wallmart? The opperator then told me, "I'm not authorized to disclose that information. For security purposes, I can only give you the last four numbers of the card and it's expiration date." I reminded her that I only wanted to be removed from the list. She then tried to tell me about the reason that the company had called me, but I cut her off saying, "That name you said wasnt even my name. This company has been calling me 10 times a day. I know it's a scam, and I just want the calls to stop, ok?" The opperator told me that the number that I called was an inbound call center, so the name that I answered to was the next person on the list to call. We ended the conversation with her company agreeing not to call my cell phone anymore.

At Home Rewards Illegal practices

I had a charge of $16.95 on my card from a place called 'At Home Rewards". I never heard of them and had not made any purchases from them. When I was finally able to reach someone at their customer service, the man said my information had been obtained from a company that I had ordered from a couple of months ago. I told him I wanted a refund of my money and I did not want anything from them.

He said he would "cancel" my account and issue a refund immediately. This was on 6/21/06. As of today 6/27/06, there has been no refund.

It seems to me this kind of practice would be illegal, both for this company and the company that gave out my credit information.

Thank you,
Susan

at home rewards has been deducting $14.95 from my checking account since the account was cancelled immediately after my wife was duped into enrolling over the internet. The cancellation was made over the phone in August 2008. Upon calling customer service, they said that my latest phonecall is the only phone call ever, which is an absolute lie. Well, for you all that had the same problem of mine.

Just called them at the [protected]. They requested my Membership Nbr (which obviously I don't have) and the phone system requested me to introduce the debit card number for the checking account they are sending the debit. I did it and they gave me back the membership number.

Going on with the automated answering system, I choose option 1 to talk about debits, 1 again to cancel my membership, 1 again to confirm and then, after their confirmation, zero (0) to talk to an Agent. I briefly told her that I've just cancelled the membership I never asked for and she transferred me to her supervisor. 3 minutes on the phone and the supervisor agreed that all debits done to my checking account were wrong, and agreed to give me back 5 x US$ 25.95 + 12 x US$ 22.95 + 12 x US$ 19.95 (as they were debiting my account since Jan/2007).

She said that the total amount would be in my account in 2 business days. I'll wait for it and confirm in this blog on Monday. If it does works, I have to say that, besides the fact that it was wrong, they did fantastically. BUT, let's wait until Monday to see if they just found a good way of getting rid of my call.

They charged me with $19.95 out of nowhere. I called them and they said they are going to refund me the money, however I had to cancel my card since I have not authorized that charge.

Go to www.federaltradecomission.com home page and file a complaint. They will investigate the company and probably put them out of bussiness.

I was balancing my bank account today and noticed two withdrawals for $19.95 to "At Home Rewards". I thought "Who are they? I called them and they agreed to cancel the account and said I had signed up for a 30 day free trial. Have no memory of it and since it is for discounts to restaurants and stores don't feel I would have had any interest in it as we are retired, seldom eat out and except for necessities like food, rarely purchase "things". After reading your "comments", feel it's a scam and will try and get the two payments refunded. Have made rare purchases online but find it hard to believe anyone would give someone else credit card info. Guess no one can be trusted and plan to check my bank account regularly from now on.
