Mixed Experiences with Christianbook
As someone deeply connected to Christian values, I understand the importance of finding reliable sources for Christian resources. Looking at the reviews from various customers, it's clear that Christianbook has had a mix of positive and negative experiences. While some customers praise the selection and service, others have faced challenges like unexpected charges, delays, and issues with customer service. It's crucial to approach purchases with caution and pay attention to details, especially regarding memberships and recurring charges. Despite these challenges, many customers have found valuable resources and great deals on Christianbook. Remember to stay vigilant and make informed decisions when considering purchases from Christianbook.
Fabulous prices on Bibles
Fabulous prices on Bibles -- they are also known on the web as cbd.com. You can often find coupon codes through retailmenot.com for even better prices. I order many gifts from them -- they let you include a gift message free and ship to a gift address which amazon and most sites don't --- so you can order gifts for all your relatives with a personalized gift message and ship it for $3.99 directly from them and the relatives feel like they got a beautiful gift direct from you -- and you didn't have to mail it and write out a card! I have been purchasing from them for over 10 years -- never had a problem. Standard shipping usually about 5-7 days -- free shipping over certain amounts. Most items are 25%-70% off manufacturer list price -- I love their Bibles - engraving only $5.00.
Great store, shipping often takes a while though
I love this store! They have so many great deals, sales, and often have coupon codes for free or discounted shipping. Most of my orders over the years arrive within a week or two. Since the COVID pandemic, I've noticed their shipping has gotten a bit slower, but it's honestly to be expected. Maybe it's because so many others are choosing to homeschool this year too, and homeschool books have been/are flying off their shelves, but my past three orders that have contained homeschool books have had items that were back ordered. Some items have taken a month to arrive after the date of purchase, fewer items have taken up to two months. I'm not going to knock this company though. I've always had positive experiences with Christianbook and they always deliver good quality items. Also love that they send me catalogs every so often. I'm a customer for life.

Excellent on every order. I now use them for homeschooling my 10yr boy. He loves a lot as playing
Ideas from every Avenue. My son has anxiety, ptsd, and adhd. So it has helped in so many ways to break up the days to learn more. He is learning to be stronger, learning better how to be aware and to socialize. Luckily, he has gotten into homeschooling groups to help although this year has been a tough time. Pray it gets better. Christianbook helps my son and I the last 10 years for him and my self 16 when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I had to step back up with reading and writing because of how bad my seizures had gotten. I as a result had my leaf hippocampus removed. It was found dead from how bad the gran mal seizures got. Now I get the starting spells. I feel them. Sometimes I am so bad and don't know and some I am aware. But I take the medicine which now is a 50/50 of working. I have a VNS put in it helps minimal but goes more harm to my esofagas. So they are trying to fight insurance for a RNS to help calm the seizures more. Once these virus shoots are done we need to pray things get better.
RODEO HERO by Shannon Taylor Vannatter---I do not know
RODEO HERO by Shannon Taylor Vannatter---I do not know the proper words to tell you how wonderful "Rodeo Hero" by Shannon Taylor Vannatter is. It will touch your heart and soul like no other book has ever done. Kendra, as a new Christian, was struggling with a promiscuous past, while Stetson, firmly believed in waiting for marriage, was having trouble forgiving her as Jesus had forgiven her. 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be IN Christ, he is a NEW creature; old things are passed away; behold ALL things are become NEW." Shannon has indeed done a remarkable job in writing about "secondary virginity" as she so lovingly explains once you become a Christian, God does not see your past sins anymore, as they are covered by the Blood of Jesus. Have you, or anyone you know, ever had this problem? If so, let me please recommend this book and even if not, I still highly recommend "Rodeo Hero" for the wonderful inspiring message, the very sweet story of love and a beautiful ending. It is definitely a book to put on your "to read" list. God bless you, Shannon, I feel so honored to have read this book and to be able to let others know how great it is. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
So I ordered two books
So I ordered two books. A month later, no books have shown up. So I called and they sent out two more books and I got them. About a week later the original books showed up. Thankfully I put the two extra back to give away but never got around to it BECAUSE THREE MONTHS later I get an email saying they want the books back or I'm getting charged for them. I told her to send the mailing labels so I could return them and that I would NEVER buy anything else from them again.
The customer service was great but was short two gift bags
The customer service was great but was short two gift bags. I received them today. I felt why did they charge me when I had to wait. I really forgot about the bags until it posted to my account.

I purchased a Bible from christianbook.com I got the wrong Bible
I purchased a Bible from christianbook.com I got the wrong Bible. I asked to return the Bible and get a refund. They said they would send me a return package for me to send the Bible back and would refund my money. This was 2 weeks ago. I contacted them several times. They keep saying "it's in the mail

I was charged almost a $1,000dollars in total for 2 transactions. The frost order of books was charged, canceled and never reimbursed. The reason it was canceled is because christianbooks states that they never received the funds. I have send them my bank statement and notifications from my nabk and they are not reimbursing me my funds. I have contacted the company many times and the excuse is that when she goes in the system to cancel the order it keeps saying error. That means that the funds are in their possession. The second order was placed trying to order the books as intended the first time and the same thing happens.. Now I am the one to cancel the order due to so much delay in the shipment and the funds from the second purchase have not been reimbursed. I have so called and the *** accent lady says that I have to put a dispute in with my bank, when my bank is a *** bank and the procedures are difwrrwnt from united states. If I place a dispute and they find out I did authorize I will loose the funds, not like U. S. Where it's investigated, questions and resolved. I feel it's unfair what they have done and the excuses they are giving me.
I ordered a book from Christianbook.com on 7/17 [Order# *** ] which was advertised to be 'in stock'
I ordered a book from Christianbook.com on 7/17 [Order# *** ] which was advertised to be 'in stock'. My order confirmation came back stating that my order was on 'backorder' until 8/1. After it did not ship on 8/1 either, I received a subsequent notification that the book was backordered further to 8/22. I am very disappointed with this underhanded false advertising and stringing me along...I NEEDED this book a week ago.

Order # *** was placed on Jan 11, 2020 in the amount of $35.84 total. It was shipped on Jan 13, 2020 with a estimated delivery of 1-4 weeks. Recently, I checked the tracking number for the item and according to the USPS it has not moved since Jan 23, 2020. I contacted the business to cancel my order and they have now pushed back the date YET AGAIN - to Feb 24, 2020. I WANT A FULL REFUND OF MY PURCHASE AND DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I had emailed the credit department about several debit on my bank account over 222.00 and NSF fees that was caused by this company. They had debited my account more than once about the same product. There claim was that this was not their doing. I distinctly remember paying for these item right away upon purchase but there was several attempt made by this company that cause me over 300 dollars of unnecessary payments. This is surprising tome as this is a christian company that does not want to own up to their mistakes.I spoke to the credit department several times and had a rude response trying to blame me for 27 dollars when they owe me over 200 dollars of repeat payment!

On 5/29, I placed an order with a Christian book store
On 5/29, I placed an order with a Christian book store. This order included a box of 12 Ministry appreciation cards, ordering 2 sets. After a 10-day wait due to COVID19 shipping delays, which I understood, I was upset to receive anniversary cards instead on 6/10. I called to request overnight shipping for the correct cards but was denied, despite their error. Needing the cards by 6/12, I had to make an alternative purchase elsewhere. They refunded the cost of the cards but not the price difference incurred.

My order for a toy car for my granddaughter had issues
My order for a toy car for my granddaughter arrived with an unsealed box from Christianbook.com, and pieces were missing. I contacted customer service, and they promptly sent a replacement but asked me to return the original. The post office initially refused the return without shipping fees. After another call, I was promised a return label. On a second visit, the post office requested I purchase tape to seal the box. This whole experience, including taking time off work and risking exposure during the pandemic, was very inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend purchasing from this company online, as I am a very unhappy customer.

On 11/21/2020 I reached out to this company to notify them i wished to get a refund on a fraudulent charge i brought to there attention. after giving one of there employees *** all the info he indicated there was no crime on his part that he wished to be involved with. wondering what remedy's I can seek, criminally and civilly on the company as well as the individual who placed the order with out my consent.

Purchase of Application Bible I never received
I purchased Application Bible during the Cyber Sale with shipping code Cyber22; I haven't
received my bible up to now. I received a message online through tracking that the package was delivered, but I never received
it. I called the Post Office and I was told they will get back to me.

Non-Shipment of Books With proof of credit card billing
I received an automated response that day that my three books had been shipped after my credit card was charged. Following one month I returned to site to find no record of my in voices or orders or shipments. Repeated (27) attempts to contact met with robotic responses. I copied and pasted my orders and sent them to self and Christianbook. Took a while to...

Yesterday I ordered Reformed Dogmatics by Geerhardus Vos when there was a special deal on the price. I placed the order and received an email confirmation for the order. I was incredibly excited to get this book until I got an email today to say that you can’t actually fill my order and it’s being cancelled. Very disappointed with this experience and will caution others who want to buy from you of this business practice. If an order is not able to be placed or is out of stock then it should not be able to be placed in the first place.
Desired outcome: I would like to still receive the book for the amount that I initially paid for it.
I am very unhappy with this bookseller
I am very unhappy with this bookseller. I recently bought a very expensive Cambridge Bible. When it came it was scratched. I returned it and they sent me another one and it had stamping problems on the front. I have bought alot of Bibles in my life and this is the first time I have purchased two Bibles damaged. I wondered if they were seconds. Christianbook says they are not! I have my doubts. At any rate I will not use them again.
They are a lying and stealing bunch. I recently ordered a set of books which they immediately sent confirmation of shipment the same date. I then requested the tracking reference which they sent and claimed that the shipment was done via FedEx. Upon enquiring with FedEx I was told that the tracking ref was not theirs. I am in the process of cancelling the payment quietly
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, they even refunded another buyer from the USA where they are based, and they charged her a 're-stocking' fee! So, she is now minus the return postge plus the 're-stocking' fee from her original payment to them! So they always win!? Gordon.
I noticed on their website there is ALOT of complaints about products not being well made. I think I will hold on my cart over there before I buy and simply get the mugs and thats it. Cant really go to wrong with coffee mugs. Thats a shame Gordon that U have to deal with that. I wonder if they simply sell merchandise under the guise of "Christianity"?
I agree! I am now going through a dispute with them regarding an item that has not been delivered. They keep saying that it takes up to six weeks to deliver to Australia. It does not! In 10 years of buying merchandise from the USA it takes a maximum of 3 weeks for items to reach me here at home in Australia. They even gave me the shipping date but no tracking number! They are quick to reply to my emails with stalling tactics like it takes six weeks to reach Australia! Thank God I used PayPal and not any other means of payment. I've lodged a complaint dispute with PayPal and they are investigating. Don't buy with them! PayPal complaints are only legal if you lodge a complaint 45 days after they say they shipped the product. One email from them said to wait till the 24th of February. before contacting them again! They said they shipped the product on the 5th January! That will make it over the 45 days cut off period from PayPal to lodge a payment complaint. Very Angry!
I strongly recommend using a different website, the prices may be cheaper but the service sucks
I am VERY upset with this site. I purchased my books on monday and paid 20$ extra to have them shipped within 2-3 days. I paid extra to have them shipped for a very specific reason and they did not deliver on the day they should have. I actually still have not recieved them 5 days later and noone will answer the phone or return my emails. This is some of the worst service I have ever encountered. There is no solid way to get ahold of customer service. The only # given goes to what sounds like a personal voicemail. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau if I don't hear back soon. I feel like I've been Had. I strongly recommend using a different website, the prices may be cheaper but the service SUCKS!
I was charged $16.95 on my credit card for christianbookrewards. I NEVER APPROVED ANYTHING. I WANT THIS TO BE TAKEN OFF MY CARD ASAP
Our church placed an order in August 2010 for 100 books. Three weeks later, we still hadn't received the books, and there was no response to my e-mail, so we bought the books from another source. A few weeks later, the books showed up. I returned them (at our expense), and was told I would get a refund of the cost of the books ($480), but not shipping. Then I got an e-mail saying that I only returned two cases of books, so would only get $200 back. I e-mailed back with tracking numbers, saying that all three boxes of books were signed for at their address. They promised the check would be mailed out within 1-2 weeks. It is now 9 months later, and we still have not gotten our $480 refund check, despite half a dozen e-mails. It's always "oh, yes, we'll mail the check in a week."
This site is fraudulent and not a Christian site at all. I ordered a book on 5/13/11 and they billed me the same day. The book I ordered "Strategy of Satan" by Warren Wiersbe never arrived. I've emailed and called customer service... their phone number is disconnected and they did not respond to three of my emails requesting info on the book and then my refund as it never arrived. Since, I submitted this case to my credit card company and they are refunding me due to this fraud. I will now call the BBB and report this issue. DO NOT USE THIS SITE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR ORDER AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED. Looks like this is simply the strategy of Satan trying to defeat the christian work of spreading the gospel.
My story is the same as the others. i ordered books and haven't received them i have been writting the company via email and recieveing replies that have been lies. i reported this to the better business of TN. I used a prepaid credit card so i dont think they have protection set up for me to get my money. so unless the better business company steps in i have lost over 60$.
Bad quality textbooks. Wait 4 weeks and received the textbooks. No any communications and replies. don't buy any from bookstores.com bookstore.
Ordered product 3 months ago (May, 2011). I have received no response from my emails. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE! Ordered books but didn't get them and no way to contact the company except through email which doesn't get a response. Took the advise of others and have reported them to the BBB and FTC and IC3 and other review sites.
My experience is the same as everyone else's. I found a book I had trouble finding. They had it for a reasonable price. I waited two weeks until June 8, 2011 to contact them and have received nothing from them after three e-mails. So I'm turning it over to MasterCard...hopefully, they can shut them down.
I ordered on Nov 6 and now its dec 20 and still no item or even an email. all i get is an automated email responce saying order is being procesed.
I ordered a CD Oct 27th 2010 and received a confirmation that my order would ship in 2 weeks. I have never received it. There is no number to contact them. When I send them an email the respond by saying we will look into it. I have requested their telephone number but they dont reply.
