Credit Bureau Report Error
Hello
My name is Lorna Deygoo and I had my credit bureau report done for a financial application.
The report is showing a reliance debt that was sent to a collections agency. I have never had any accounts with Reliance for any products. Please provide all relevant information pertaining any agreement you believe I have. I have attached snippet of the credit report.
I contacted Reliance Customer Service and the were not able to provide me with any information. I can be reached at this email or by phone at [protected].
I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Desired outcome: To have the error corrected and removed from my credit bureau.
christ hospital, incontinence test, january 3, 2017-deductible and charge amount
Christ Hospital scheduled an incontenence test Jan 3, 2017 advising patient did not have coverage insurance and charged in excess of $5000 for this test through Dr. Shau. Charges were considered under Aetna and everything paid except deductible of $1500. Yet, CBCS is attempting to collect $1576.82 (excess of deductible). Patient was billed varied amount by Christ Hospital ranging from $5000.00; $3, 800, $1840.00 to $1576.82. Because of the inconsistencies in billing and because other services were added to this deductible, it is apparent Christ Hospital is not posting payments correctly, consistentlyr in proper order. All other services have been reconciled, yet Christ continues to bill for over deductible amount $1500 to tune of $1576.82 acknowledging that $305 was received by Christ from patient. Patient asked for review of charges (not provided) based in inconsistencies in billing and misinformation about no insurance coverage beginning 2017. Patients with no insurance receive greater cost services than those with coverage. At one time CBCS alleged compromise offer to pay $1276 which is actual amount owed considered $305 in payments if in fact the original charges are correct based on knowledge of no insurance and not overstated charges based on no insurance. Services should not have been provided if patient did not have coverage. Provider and Attending Physician should suffer fine of $500 for scheduling non-approved services. All odd outstanding amounts owed by patient Juanita B. Thomas for year beginning January 2017 have been satisfied to other providers other than Christ Hospital, Robinson, Mercy Health, Tara J. Adhikari have been paid and should not be added to this deductible of $1500. Patient still feels 'pee test' was overcharged and similar services should have been researched by other providers before Dr. Shau ordered such an expensive tests.
I am complaining about service
I've been called numerous times stating my account was in arrears by your legal team ... I was told in November 2017 that when my account is settled in will receive a certificate to indicate so ... I am still waiting, this would be my 5th email requesting this to be sorted as it is affecting my credit score stating I'm in arrears for 8 months with you...
Have this sorted out asap

debt from hospital. I do not owe
Letter was stating I owed 88.34 for a hospital service on 6/25/2015. I paid the balance. I do not owe this amount. I called the hospital. They stated there was no balance due, it was paid in full for that date of service. The hospital service was for surgery on my knee. I had to pay $345.00 out of pocket before the operation could be done. This was my portion of the bill that insurance would not pay. So how could I still owe $88.34
I'm having the same problem with a hospital bill. Being billed for hospital debt I do not owe. I was approved for one day of Inpatient care by my insurance company. After eight months the hospital changed to outpatient and now say I owe the $75.. My copay was $250, which I paid. They are claiming I owe the extra $75 because the copay for outpatient was $325.00. This was turned over to a collection agency CBCS in Columbus, Ohio. I am appealing this amount since I have a statement of proof that I was approved as being an Inpatient for one day. Why should I be responsible for this amount when I was approved for Inpatient care at time of discharge from hospital?

fraud
Received a letter dated August 21, 2015, sayiing I owed $26.84 for an old Baltimore Gas and Electric bill. Logged on to pay at cbcspayments.com and after typing in the access code, the next thing that was asked of me was my entire social security number. I then googled CBCS and saw that they are a scam.
I have good credit and pay my bills. They demanded payment in full on a bill that I have never seen before. This demand comes after very serious illness and extend hospital and at home care. I really am frustrated by the lack of information and the demand for money without proof.
They demand payment in full. This was the first time I had even seen or heard about this bill. I just don't trust them.
I am tired of them sending me the bills saying I owe 175.00 there is no way I owe anything to this crap and don't even know who in the world is this program I want them stop sending me bills
This company sent us a bill. I called and set up a payment plan. Every month I would make a payment on line. I made one in January. I checked my bank account and this company had the audacity to take a payment out of my account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. If necessary I will change my account. The nerve of this company.
debt collection
I alfredia started reciving, collection letters from CBCS around the end of 2011, stating i own AT&T $3537.04. i asume it is for a cell phone i never applyed for. I am currently using a Metro PCS, thats been in use for the last five years. i have no plans, or had any plans to pay for a contract phone. To me the only way this could have happen is apone moving, mail with information could have been tampered with.

illegally taking money from my account
CBCS illegally took a total of $358.92 electronically from my account on 2/17/2011. How they got my account number is beyond me. I called numerous number trying to contact the company and failed with everyone. I did some research online and found out that CBCS works for Verizon. I called Verizon and got their number. They asked me for an account number... I don't have one.
They had no way of pulling up any information about me. They were extremely rude to me. Trent the first guy would not even transfer me to a supervisor so that I could get more information about this EFT. After threatening with a lawyer I finally was transferred to Maria who was yelling at me to fax my banking statements and my voided checks to them. She also told me that there were pages of people with the same name as me and they probably had charged my account for someone else's debt. I have a hold on my account and my bank is holding all money coming in or going out. I am getting married in 8 weeks and am now out almost $400.
Looking back at my bank statements this is not the first time they have done an EFT on my account. They total $1789.59. They didn't have permission for a single penny.
My next step is to lawyer up and handle this in court.
fraudulent collection notices
They sent me collection notice and called me about owing 1300.00 to an old Verizon account from over 12 years ago which I never had. I called Verizon to check and they said that there was no such account of mine from that time. In PA where I live the statute of limitations for bills like these to collect is 4 years.

This company has been doing this to others it appears. I am going to report them to both the PA and Ohio AG office. The address they listed on their letter they sent me is
I get a call at least 10 times a day. It is always to a different name. I plead every single time that it's the wrong number and every single time they courteously apologize give me their name and promise me it will never happen again. Invariably within the hour I get one or more calls.
Is their a way I can sue these ###? Can anybody help me? Lawyers, brain surgeons( I am going insane)
The calls always go ...hi this is Erica if this is ...
Also I tried talking to couple of supervisors - courteous but to no avail.
RECEIVED 3 CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER IN AN HOUR. It is a computer generated call. It said to wait, an agent will be with me shortly as all other agents are currently busy. I do not wait for someone who calls me. I only wait if I make the call. Is this type of calling legal? I am on the do not call list. What can be done to stop these types of calls?
I have traced the number [protected] back to this company. I guess I'll have to check my credit report and see if they entered anything on it.

illegal attempt to collect a debt
This company sent me a collection letter for a debt that has been DISCHARGED in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This has been going on for 3 year despite sending validation letters and cease and desist requests. They are reporting this collection on my CR, as both in collections and Discharged which is seriously hurting my credit rating

repeated phone calls
I continue to get phone calls from this collection agency even though when I was finally able to talk with a person I told him there was no one by the name they were asking for at my address, nor had there ever been. I asked them to stop calling me. The next call I got from them was very nasty telling me the calls would continue until I responded and talked to them about the debt I owe and there was nothing I could do about it. Call was very threatening.
I've never been behind in a payment of any kind to any person so these nasty calls upset me.
I might add I am 74 and don't need to be harrassed by CBCS. Latest call today was from a James at [protected]

My mother had a similar problem with the exact same company, they were calling her for my brother. My brother had just got his phone and even though my mother had it programmed into the phone she can't remember it, the phone is a cheap one, you cannot check the calls recieved or saved numbers while you are using the phone. When my mother told the woman that it wasn't my brothers # and to please stop calling the woman said "We will call you as much as we want, you can't stop us." Then she got a call from James and when she said that that wasn't my brothers # he asked her for the number and she said that she wasn't sure what it was because it was programed into the phone and she couldn't check it and he told her "If you don't know your sons phone number then you must not love him" these people need to be stopped.
fraud and harassment
I get frequent calls on my cell phone and home phone from "Bob Jones" of CBCS. I had a small (less than $100) debt for medical services that apparently got sold to this company. Long story related to moving and mail being sent to the wrong places. Anyway, I paid it in full shortly after I learned that it had been sold. Yet they (CBCS) still call, and call, and call.
I don't know what they think they're going to get out of me. Even if I DID still owe the money, I'd pay it directly to the medical practitioner because I will NEVER give any money to a collections agency, on principle. CBCS, I hope you enjoy wasting your time and resources calling me ten times a week... you'll never get anything other than hung up on. *click*

terrible company
From what I've read, many others have received a phone call similar to the one I just received. Not only was the woman ignorant, but she couldn't even get the information correct! She said she was trying to collect on a PECO bill from Nov 2005 for an address where I had moved away from in Aug 2005. Then she would switch the year to 2004 (if I hadn't paid a bill in 2004, there's no way PECO would've continued to provide service to me through August '05). I still don't know to which year she was actually trying to refer!
Then she said I need 3 pieces of mail from [protected]) - sure, I keep mail laying around for years, 2 copies of personal ID with my picture & my social security number. Are they nuts? Sure, let me just throw all of that personal information in the mail right now for you! I don't think so. She said I have 45 days to take care of this. And I'm just hearing about this now, in Feb '09? Something just doesn't sound right. She also said I needed a police report if I'm saying that I didn't live there.
This is crazy, but I don't know which course of action to take - certainly don't want my credit to be affected, but are these calls even legitimate? What is everyone else doing? Help, please!

fraudulent activity
I have no idea who CBCS corporate is...but I have received bills from them for quite a long time. I of course chuck them in the shredder as there is no identification with them. No explanation of whom or what their bills are related to. I too have received numerous phone calls as well as messages left on my machine from 'Steve' and 'Chad'.
The worst message I received was coming home to find a note on my door from our next door neighbor which read... my name and my husband's name...Steve has been trying to contact you...it is important that you call and then the note had the ph. number. which of course was toll-free.
I called the number...asked for the name and was told he is not in. I was asked my ph. number - I would not give it and followed by saying you obviously already have it.
I then said to give 'steve' a message for me. Told them that I did not know if they are an actual collection company for a debt owed by me to anyone else, but that I was certain their practice of looking up people's neighbors and calling them to leave notes was illegal and that I would consider any further contact from them be it through neighbors, family, friends - to be harassment and would take any steps available to me to get them in court. While telling the person this, he was shouting to me that what they did is perfectly legal and then began demanding to know if I screen my calls as well as cussing at me. The only thing I responded to was when I said yes indeed I screen my calls because of bogus thieves like you.
This month I get a bank statement. There is a charge off of my account to ----CBCS. What do you make of that! How did that happen. I am stuck on what to do.

unauthorized charges
CBCS attempting to collect debt for Alltel Communications, however, cannot produce evidence that I owe the money. Contacted Alltel and verified debt was sold to CBCS. However, Alltel cannot provide proof that I owe the money either. This harassment has been going on for 4 years. Has negatively affected my credit score (784 to 654). I did get the credit report corrected after several months. I believe this is a scam for the following reasons. Collection agency contacts me I dispute the debt and ask for proof of debt. Never hear from that collection agency again. However, a few months later a different collection agency contacts me. I have reported this to the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau of Ohio. Next step is to file complaint with Florida my home state.

fraud and cheating
These guys have been calling me for a month, out of the blue demanding payment for a Bell South account. I did have one on my credit report years ago and paid it off, and still have the letter to prove it. It was held by an entirely different agency at that time, and I can't imagine why BEll South would be forwarding it to them for collections again.
I didn't ask any details because I thought I knew what account they were referring to and I said that it was paid off. They asked me to produce a cashed check from way back, or pay them within 45 days. I take my credit very seriously. I have no way of knowing if they are legit, but there are a lot of accusations on the web, that's for sure. I will mail them a copy of the letter, it has no personal info on it.

CBCS corporate phone number [protected]
I owed Bellsouth YEARS AGO something like $500. CBCS continued to send letters, no calls. The most recent cut the payment in half. I gave in and wrote them a check. After doing some research and pulling my credit report, I fined that I do not owe anything like what they were saying. I tried to stop the check but they got their money anyway. Come to find out they illegally collect debt that is over 7 years old! They buy old debt and make profit IF they collect. I explained all this to my bank and even though we closed that account and went through tons of trouble - THEY GOT THE MONEY! Now I can't do anything about it because they have my check! I'm so angry!
terrible scam
I received a letter stating I owed $81.99 for a bill from 1997 from AT&T broadband. They were willing to settle for $41.00. Imagine my surprise! All of our bills have always been under my husbands name. I did some research and found this site. I am glad I did. I wrote CBCS a letter telling them this was fraud at my expense, and would not tolerate it. I told them to cease and desist their criminal harassment, and if they did not I would contact the Attorney General. I sent the letter today by certified mail, so we will see what happens. I feel that a class action civil suit is in order!

Hi, I have been trying to get a credit profile since late november 2019, I keep calling the company, emailing the organization, I have send my details and documents to the agency, what else must I do to get a credit profile?
My bill was paid by my insurance company and now I am getting harassing phone calls and letters in the mail to pay this bill. Apparently this CBCS has a history of fraudulent activity. I will not be paying this bill. I have contacted my insurance company and my doctor and it appears this amount has already been taken care of #[protected]

I received mail from this company trying to collect on zombie debt long fallen off my credit report, now they're calling my husband.
My hospital bill was $1000.00 and being on a fixed income I agreed to pay $10.00 per month. Now I am getting a bill for over $2, 000.00 with a different account number, company name, and same basic billing address. First it was Mich Healthcare Collections Inc, now it's CBCS. The phone rep said it's the same business, different name, different phone# but with a different account for the same bill! WTF? Does anyone think I'm not pissed? BTW, I am a senior (68yrs) and I feel that might be the basis of their thinking they can pull this off.
Sent me (86 year old) a bill to settle on a capital one account. I never had a captial one account and I don't owe any money. When I called them the telephone number was disconnected. I found another number on the internet and they wouldn't tell me anything. I don't know who to complane to?
I received a phone call from CBCS this morning, which I am extremely suspicious of. I was asked to verify my home address and employer, but the information they asked me to verify was incorrect. I have not lived at the address or worked for the employer that they have on record for almost 10 years. They said that I owe $180 to a doctor that I have never heard of, for services I supposedly received in September 2012, and that the claim had been denied by my insurance company. I did not have insurance in 2012, and I have never had insurance through the company that supposedly denied the claim. The representative asked that I pay the bill by credit card over the phone, which I refused to do. I did give my current address so that CBCS can send me an itemized bill. I suppose I will have to get a copy of my credit report and spend time (and possibly money) that I don't have to resolve this.
I just received a bill dated 12/20/2012 for two separate charges of $16.85 from Date of Service 8/23/12. I am very ANAL and keep all my Insurance Companies Explanation of Benefits. Low and behold I OWE NOTHING! A total scam. On your Explanation of Benefits at the bottom of the last page you can find a Claims Fraud Number to report issues like this. Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield Number is [protected]. I will be calling them tomorrow. Please also be advised that Companies will try and bill you for the amount of money they are suppose to write off, which is illegal and a violation of their contract with the Insurance Company. My Sister is a Medical Officer Manager for over 18 years. This is NOT legal, however most people do not keep the proper paperwork!
Hope this help, Allen in NY
These "people" are the rudest A-Holes in the business. I used to work there and they are abusive to the employees too. especially the MGR who hits on the female subordinates. What a disgrace!
