Shortage on homeowner's insurance claim for hail damage repairs
May 21, 2024 - early morning - severe hail storm The hail storm completely destroyed my roof, gutters, skylight and window. All invoices I have received and paid have been sent to Encompass, but to date I am short approximately $8400 between what I have paid and what Encompass has reimbursed. I received a phone call today indicating I will be receiving a...

I was told my policy includes a "Cosmetic Damage waiver Exclusion.
Because of this my metal roof damage claim was denied by Insurer.
I was never told that I could needed to or could have purchased a policy that did not include this damage Waiver.
Obviously the value of my home is diminished because of the the damaged sustained because of the hail storm.
Desired outcome: I want Encompass to pay for the replacement of my metal roof
Claims
Adjuster Johnson will not return phone calls. His voice mail sounds like he does not care. Encompass phone system is bait and switch, it will hang up on you . Hours and days later got a Tech Support to answer the phone. He could not provide a phone number for a Claims Manager. I asked tech support if he was insured by Encompass , he said NO, that says a lot about Encompass Insurance ! Finally I decided to hit the # that would let me make another claim. A very nice young lady gave me Johnson managers Name and Number. She also shared with me how to email workers of Encompass. (1st name . last [protected]@ngic.com). Locke is the manager for no return calls Johnson. She did return my phone call and said (only) "Sorry" for my troubles , but didn't seem to care about Johnson's (lack of) work ethics. After our phone call I sent her an email asking for her managers name and number, responded with " I forwarded your email to my supervisor". Probably will never hear from Encompass again. I just wanted to talk to Johnson about my rental car, did not expect all this wasted time . Locke said their policy for rental cars, they just get you a car, they don't rent what was wrecked (F150 4dr) , 2 car seat for grandbabies can fit in a small car... I'm 6'3" 300lbs . She might get me a small SUV for $35 a day . What is wrong with this country.
Desired outcome: At this point , I just want to be done with Encompass , Just send a check for 10 day rental and time I've lost .

Refund of Rental Car Expense Claim # [protected]-2
On July 4th, 2022 my car while parked was struck by a provisional licensed young man who made a reverse u-turn and plowed into the passenger side door and caused over $4,000worth of damage. I went through the insured insurance company. They said they would re-imburse the monies spent on a rental car.
I have repeatedly called, left messages and emails looking for this refund and I have been completely ignored. No return phone call, no return email. This doesn't leave me much choice but to file a complaint. Encompass owes me $415.47.
Desired outcome: Receive my refund.
Personal automobile
My car was stolen directly beneath the window of my apartment on 10/5/2020. Being in the insurance business for almost 50 years, I am aware of the claims process and have followed every step that I would advise my customers to proceed with. Theft was reported to the Police later in the day.
Today is January 11th, 2021 and the company is still "investigating" all the while I am paying for the insurance and my current car loan payments which leaves no money to purchase another vehicle so that I can find employment,
even though the company has deemed the car a total loss.
The last interview was a "Zoom" official examination under oath that was completed 12/17/2020 that has delayed the investigation once again.
Desired outcome: Settle the Claim
Encompass Insurance driver ticketed for auto accident but they deny claim!
Police report narrative(EXACTLY how it is in the police report(names removed): driver#2(me)
told me that he was NB on 35th ave sw in the curb lane when vehicle #1
put on her turn signal and moved into his lane causing him to swerve to
get out of the way. This action forced him into striking vehicle #3
(legally parked). Driver#1(her) told me that she put on her turn signal
and began to change lanes when she saw that #2 was in the curb lane and
moved back into her own lane. #1 was NB in the inside lane at the time.
#2(me) told me that he was just behind #1 putting him in her blind spot.
#1 was cited for an unsafe lane change..."On
8/21/2014 Encompass claims adjuster Andy Stangby called me at 1030AM
and denied the claim stating to me on the phone "You made an unsafe
swerve" so we are denying liability.

Bad faith home owners insurance claims
Encompass insurance company has only given me a total amount of $533.00 and some change for the storm damage, this insurance company claim fraud, then they claim vadilizum, now my home has water coming in my bedroom and basement, now the dry walls and base boards, carpet, pad, wood floor and insulation has to be replaced, they think that I"m suppose to do their job, by replacing the storm and water damages, I'm not, the Georgia Insurance commissioner office tells me that they can not assist me, but the officer who handled my complaint was very un educated and don't know what he is talking about, first of all the picture the insurance company sent to the insurance commissioner, was not my roof and roofworks has the right pictures of the roof and now more pictures of the recent water damages to my home. this insurance company needs to be put on T.V. and I feel that they are rats and are against people of color and single woman being taken for a ride, I do feel that race is a factor in this matter and I need to be heard!
Raised insurance because of bad credit!
I do not think it is fair that Insurance companys raise you insurance because of poor credit. Pa. you need car insurance to drive your car. Would it be better to keep it cheaper? How can people afford high insurance? My car is three and a half years old and my insurance is more now than when it was new. I think this is B. S. Encompass insurance raised my insurance price from $750.00 the year before to $950.00 in 2010. I had an accident in the winter but it was only $1250.00, and there was no damage to my car. All the company's advertise save hundreds on car insurance until they check your CREDIT SCORE. B. S.!
Some states allow insurance companies to charge extra because of bad credit. Unfortunately, the only way to change this is to petition the insurance board to change the law. Most people with good credit don't mind you paying more because it causes them to pay less. It is not fair, I know, but what can you do? My best advice is to improve your credit as best as possible.

No assurance from Encompass Insurance
My first issue, is with the company that sold me the policy - John P. Russell Insurance, in Stoughton, MA. Every time I call the office to discuss my policy the man is on vacation. I am not exaggerating. The past two months I've called and he's been on one full week or two week vacations. And I get transferred to one of the women in the office, who speaking frankly, do not know what the hell they are talking about. With each time I've called the office, it's been a complaint of the bill Encompass Insurance has sent to me for the month, and as I have a 'time limit' on when I can pay the bill before they cancel on me again and charge me more ridiculous fees, it would be nice if someone in the office could speak to me in a timely fashion. Which brings me to why I'm calling their office in the first place, Encompass Insurance itself. The problem I'm having with them as of late began back in April, when I got a voicemail indicating they were going to cancel my policy if I didn't pay upwards of $700 by the end of that week. I hadn't received any notifications in the mail of this cancellation, nor did I understand why it would have been cancelled in the first place as I had not gotten a statement in the mail that month, called John Russells office and spoke to one of the women working there, and paid what she told me was due. I called the office again, and spoke to another of the women as John was yet again not there. I was told, that the amount that was given to me over the phone was $150 off from what was actually due, so the policy was being cancelled for the difference. I was also told that there was nothing that could do and I had to have the money in their office by the end of the week if I wanted to keep my insurance going. I wrote the check and brought it in to the office before the date of cancellation and received notification in the mail that it would not be cancelled. Back on track? No. The next bill was an odd amount, so again I called the office to see what could be done. Being on a budget doesn't coincide with an insurance company that cannot figure out what to bill me each month. I was told, this time by John Russell himself, that if I paid what was on this bill I would have 6 more payments of a certain amount. I paid the bill, & the next month, the bill was $50 more than he said it would have been. My mistake, but I didn't call this time. I was sick of dealing with the companies & the amount was only $50 dollars off. The NEXT month the payment they wanted was double what it had been all along. Not knowing how I was meant to pay this without selling some of my own organs, I called John Russell again. He explained to me that when I 'missed' a payment back in March the company was trying to get me back on track this month by doubling up my bill, & He swore in his own words 'I will take this to the grave with me' that the next 3 payments (ending the year) would be a set amount each month. At this point, I should have already been $50 ahead of my payments if the doubled up one was to 'get me back on track' again, this month, the bill is $30 more than it's supposed to be. I don't know what to do anymore aside from cancel my policy with this useless company, write this complaint and be rid of John Russell and Encompass Insurance.

Avoid paying claims
Our son was hit by an Encompass driver and it was a nightmare trying to get them to pay for the damages to his car. The claims rep lied repeatedly about the check being sent, when it didn't arrive he claimed he had to stop payment and that would take time. It took repeated phone calls to get them to respond. We were ready to file suit against the driver and that was the only way to get them to pay. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS.

Something similar happened to me
They use and abuse of the legal system to avoid paying the claims
I took them the the small claims court in Texas, Montgomery County
Precinct 3
The Judge who is not an attorney, ruled in favor of the defendant when
the defendant (a 16 years old girl from Russia-Skaterina Trudonoshina)
rear ended me meanwhile I was at a red light (!)
They meet poor rating at auto repairs
It seems that when I had need to have my windshield replaced under the "full glass" coverage I met with a few snags.
The original place I went to have my windshield replaced clarified that they have consistent issues with Encompass paying on time due to Encompass' use of third parties.
He went ahead and tried pre-authorization. They said that it was fully covered, but the customer needs to pay out of pocket and then would be reimbursed. That's not what full glass coverage means in their policy.
So my agent called, and got an internal Encompass number for the shop to call. First words out of Encompass' mouth... No. it is too expensive.
This is a convertible Corvette. If installed incorrectly and anything happens it would be more costly for them to pay all the medical bills for a substandard installation from a two bit glass shop.

I had a similar issue with Encompass.
I was involved in a HEAD-ON COLLISION with one of their "clients" who was promptly arrested at the scene of the accident for DWI...FOR THE THIRD TIME! (it says a LOT about a company who insures a 2x DWI violator!)
My insurance company paid my expenses, except for an overage on the rental car of $300. Some kool-aide drinking employee of the company called me to tell me that they took "full responsibility" for the claim, only to REJECT my $300 rental bill because "the car (I rented) was too big..."! They didn't say anything to me, nor my insurance company, about any restrictions on the rental, but came up with that excuse six months after the accident.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! And if you have a **serious** accident with one of their "clients" I would recommend getting a lawyer ASAP. Encompass will only jerk you around until they eventually tell you 'no' on any and all claims that they take "full responsibility" for!
I get involved in a head-on collision with a drunk driver, and it cost ME $300+ !
