My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

If you have any opportunity to apply for a credit card as an incentive to receive discounts or a "points program", FIRST check to see if GE Money Bank is the lender. If they are RUN. Don't apply.

Although you pay your bill in full, they invoke a spending limit which immediately reflects on your CBR and lowers your score. GE uses a risk tactic that only favours their position to gain favourable lending terms from larger banks.

They don't give a poor rats behind about your pay history. GE Money Bank...unless you are desperate BAD DEAL!

Charges late fees even when I sent registered mail. I have to send numerous letters and even after they write back to credit my account with late fees and finance charges will not stop calling.

They call at all hours of the day/night and any day of the week. I have repeatedly told them to stop calling as my mother is terminal and doesn't need the harassment.

Will not let me speak for her even though we have written asking them to do so since she is sick and I have power of attorney. They use auto dial and then we have to wait and wait and wait to talk to someone and then they are extremely rude.

I had Brian the last time and I asked if he spoke English (since I've had non conversations with some customer service people that don't speak English or pretend not to) to which his response was "What kind of question is that". Not yes maam, or How can I help you?

Repeatedly asked him not to call - asked to speak to my ill mother, said he would call back. I said no I am speaking on her behalf and kept asking if she was there to talk with.

I realize that they are doing their jobs but this is NOT any way to treat customers especially after I read a letter that I received just 1 hour prior that stated that all charges were being taken off the account.

In 1 week, they should have received notice from the Texas office that the charges were removed and yet they still call and have continued to do so until the present day.

The last thing my sick mother needs is to be harassed by these calls since it is so difficult for her to even answer the phone.

She has been a responsible single mother all her life, always paying her bills and on time and this is just unacceptable to be treated in this manner.

I've decided that I am going to pursue this farther to anyone who will listen and I am presently writing a letter to the Attorney General's office.

I've had the same thing happen to me. We purchased bedroom furniture 2 years ago from Bassett Furniture with no interest/no payments for the 2 years. We planned to use my bonus this year to pay for the furniture. I have been receiving bills on the 15th of the month every month for the last 2 years with zero payment due. I received my bill on 1/15/2009 for zero amount due. Then I received my bill to be due on 2/15 with the amount of the furniture and 4500.00 in finance charges. I had to talk to 3 customer service people, and I was on hold for a specialist for over a half hour. This nazi ### tells me the promotional was up on 1/23, and I replied that I didn't get a bill with the amount due prior to 1/23 and that this billing was deceptive. She said I had to look at the fine print down below to see when promotional was up. Very deceptive!

Has anyone filed a claim with the BBB or the Attorney General? I'm going to be doing this on Monday.

I called GE Money to get the pay off for my account. I called the same number that I have been calling for the past several years. When asked, I supplied the lady with my account number. She said that she was unable to help me. She gave me a different number to call. After calling the second number, I was told that they could not help me. Again, I was given another number to call. After six different phone numbers and several of the rudest people I have ever spoken with in my life, I was in tears! I hung up and called the first number again. This time I spoke with a gentleman that helped me and explained to me that the other people that I had spoken with did not know what they were talking about (I had one tell me that I did not owe anything on this account and in fact, I was due a credit). If I had not know better, and stopped making my payments, my credit would have been a mess, not to mention all of the phone calls I would have gotten. GE Money Bank needs to teach these people how customer service should be. When my account is paid off, and I can help it, these people will never receive a penny of my hard earned money again.

GE MONEY BANK - CREDIT CARD --- TOTAL NIGHTMARE !

MY MOTHER DIED LAST WEEK AND THERE WAS A BALANCE OF AMOST $20.00 ON THE CARD TO WHICH WAS PAID IN FULL VIA CHECK... I HAD COPIES OF THE STATEMENT AND CHECK, ETC...

O.K., SO MY MOTHER JUST DIED, I AM A NERVOUS WRECK, AND SO UPSET TRYING TO DEAL WITH IT ALL AS WE WERE VERY CLOSE... AND SHE HAS NOT EVEN BEEN PUT TO REST.

I ASKED THE PROBATE DEPARTMENT AT GE MONEY BANK TO SEND A LETTER TO ME WITH THE APPRORIATE DOCUMENTS TO HAVE COMPLETED AND RETURN THEM WITH A COPY OF THE MY MOTHERS DEATH CERTIFICATE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT.

INSTEAD OF GE MONEY BANK DOING AS I ASKED... SO I COULD GIVE MY SISTER (THE EXECUTOR) THE LETTER TO FINALIZE THIS ACCOUNT WITH THE ZERO (0.00) BALANCE AND CLOSE IT; GE-MONEY BANK DECIDED INSTEAD TO SEND ME A LETTER EXPRESSING THEIR CONDOLENCES TO ME, AND THEN PROCEEDED TO ADD ME AS THE [[[[ SOLE ACCOUNT HOLDER ]]]] ON MY DECEASED MOTHERS CREDIT CARD, STATING THAT I WAS A JOINT CARDHOLDER.

I NEVER HAD MY NAME ON THIS CARD, MY MOTHER NEVER ADDED ME TO THIS CREDIT CARD (THAT I KNOW OF...), YET I HAVE A LETTER IN FRONT OF ME STATING THIS ON THEIR LETTER HEAD. I HAVE MADE VARIOUS TELEPHONE CALLS TO GE MONEY BANK AT DIFFERENT TIMES - MOSTLY TODAY, THEN WAIT ON HOLD FOR UP TO 30 MINUTES-- NO ANSWER, JUST THEIR STUPID MUSIC.

I THEN TRIED THE COROPRATE OFFICE, AND OTHER DEPARTMENT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN MEXICO, PHILLIPPINES, AND THE U.S.A. TRYING TO GET SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN (AGAIN) IN THEIR PROBATE DEPT.; OH YES, TODAY IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 5 PEOPLE AND 4 TELEPHONE NUMBERS LATER TO ME TO THE RIGHT DEPT. HEAD - 1 HOUR LATER.

NOW, I AM ON THE PHONE AGAIN EXPLAINING EVERYTHING ALL OVER, ASKING FOR THE DOCUMENTS, TELLING THEM THEY ADDED ME TO THE CREDIT CARD [[[ WITHOUT ]]]] MY PERMISSION WHICH IS BASICALLY [[ FRAUD ]] AND THAT I (AGAIN) NEED A LETTER FROM THEM STATING THEY REMOVED MY NAME FROM THE ACCOUNT, AND A LETTER TO THIS AFFECT. SIMPLE YOU THINK?

WRONG! SINCE I HAVE (AGAIN) TOLD THEM MY MOTHER DIED THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT SEND ME THE FORM REQUIRED TO DECLARE MY MOTHER DEAD... NOW UNDERSTAND, THIS IS A STANDARD FORM [[[[ NOT FILLED OUT ]]] LIKE AN APPLICATION FOR A CREDIT CARD, YOU HAVE TO FILL IN THE BLANKS TO GET THE CARD... WELL, THE DOCUMENT IS THE SAME --- GIVE THEM MY MOTHER NAME, ADDRESS, ETC... WITH A COPY OF THE DEATH CERT AND HAVE IT MAILED BACK.

I TOLD THEM ONCE IT CAME I WOULD GIVE IT TO MY SISTER (AGAIN, THE EXECUTOR) TO HAVE COMPLETED AND RESOLVE THIS MATTER. GE MONEY BANK SAID THE [[[[ COULD NOT ]]]] SEND ME THE REQUESTED DOCUMENT UNLESS MY SISTER ASKED FOR IT BECAUSE MY MOTHER DIED.

I ARGUED WITH THE GE MONEY BANKS REPRESENTATIVE THAT I AM ASKING FOR A FORM THAT IS [[[ UN-COMPLETED ]]], A GENERIC FORM AND WHY WOULD I NEED MY SISTER TO CALL AND ASK FOR A FORM THAT HAS NO DATA ON IT? DUH ! THEY COULD NOT GET IT.

SO NOW I ASKED GE MONEY BANK THAT SINCE YOU HAVE MY NAME ON THE CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT AS THE "SOLE ACCOUNT HOLDER" PER YOUR LETTER I RECEIVED YESTERDAY (WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE)... I AM TELLING YOU TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT.

GE MONEY BANK SAID THEY COULD NOT CLOSE THE CREDIT CARD UNLESS THEY SPOKE TO MY SISTER FIRST, OR MAKE ANY CHANGES... I AM IN MY 50'S, NOT A KID! WAIT, YOU ARE TELLING ME I AM THE SOLE ACCOUNT HOLDER NOW ON THIS CARD AND YOU WILL NOT CLOSE THIS CARD THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE IN MY NAME UPON MY DEMAND?

I TOLD THE WOMAN I UNDERSTAND THE ECONOMY IS DIFFICULT RIGHT NOW WORLD WIDE, AND I UNDERSTAND GE MONEY BANK DOES NOT WANT TO LOSE A CUSTOMER... BUT I WAS NOT GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CREDIT CARD RUNNING 21% OR WHAT EVER THEY CHARGE NOW-A-DAYS, AND I DID NOT WANT YOUR CARD, NOR ASK FOR IT.

I TOLD THEM I WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE U.S. ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE / DEPT OF JUSTICE, AND A FEW OTHER ORGANIZATIONS FOR FRAUD. AFTER THIS, THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM GE MONEY BANK THEN SPOKE TO A UPPER LEVEL SUPERVISOR AND THAT SUPERVISOR GAVE THIS REPRESENTATIVE PERMISSION TO "MAIL THE FORM TO ME" . THEY STILL REFUSED TO REMOVE MY NAME FROM THIS CARD UNTIL MY SISTER COMPLETED THE APPROPRIATE FORMS. SO TO THIS DATE, I AM STILL CONSIDER A "ACCOUNT HOLDER" ON THE CARD THAT I NEVER APPLIED FOR, ASKED FOR, OR KNEW ABOUT...

IT HAS BEEN A WEEK NOW, SINCE LAST FRIDAY (I BELIEVE) THIS NON-SENSE STARTED. I HAVE WASTED A MIN. OF 3 HOURS OF PERSONAL TIME ON THE PHONE, AND ON MY CELL PHONE, TOO. I ONLY HAVE A 700 MINUTE PLAN AND WENT OVER BECAUSE YESTERDAY I SPENT TOO MUCH TIME ON HOLD SITTING IN MY CAR AND TRYING TO GET TO THE CORRECT PERSON REGARDING THIS MATTER. AT 45 CENTS PER MINUTE FOR EVERY MINUTE OVER IS COSTING ME MONEY...

WHO SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS WASTED TIME AND THE EXTRA $$$$ OF OVER TIME COST NOW ON MY CELL PHONE? HOW DOES OUR GOVERNMENT ALLOW GE MONEY BANK TO RUN A BUSINESS LIKE THIS WITH ALL THE COMPLAINT'S AGAINST GE MONEY BANK?

I GUESS THEY JUST DO NOT GIVE A DAMN... LOOK AT THE "MADOFF" CASE WHERE HE TOOK THE SUM OF $50 BILLION DOLLARS FROM INVESTORS OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS. DESPITE AN INSIDER COMING FORWARD 3 TIMES TO THE SECURITY EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC) OVER THE 10 YEARS, WITH PROOF, NOTHING WAS DONE...

Thank you for sharing your comments. GE is the worst lender I have currently but they hold so many accounts with good stores, etc. that I prefer to do business with. It's really too bad because while GE gets a "bailout" the stores will not despite all the customers lost due to GE's practices. Those poor store employees that are required to ask everyone if they would like to open a charge to save 20% today will be the ones to lose jobs for their doing GE's job...ironic and pathetic.

On July 29, I was called by a GE rep that informed me that they had not received my July payment. I immediately made a payment by phone, for which I was charged a 10.00 fee for the trouble. I checked my bank statement when I got home and found that they had received the payment and GE cashed the check on July 9. I called them back and was told to fax the statement to [protected]. I checked with them two weeks later and was told that these things sometimes takes 3-4 weeks and to call back the following week. I called on Aug. 20 and was told that they had never received the fax and to refax. I confirmed the number, refaxed the information and asked for a confirmation call, which never came. I called on Aug. 28, I was told the fax machine was down and I would have to send it by mail. I did a search and found an account of this same scenario from 2007 along with tens of thousands of other complaints about this company. I mailed the information on Sept. 2 and it was signed for on Sept. 8. I spoke with a rep on Sept. 15 and was told that the payment would be applied on the Oct. statement. When it did not appear, I called yet again and was told by an Escalation Specialist that it would take 1-2 billing cycles. I called on Oct. 20 and Chris #7099 confirmed that my July payment had been applied to a different account due to a scanning issue (the scanner misread the account number that a GE employee had recorded on the check). He said it would be put on a priority status and would appear within 30 days. I paid off the entire balance on Nov. 4 and sent a letter stating that the final payment had been made and the account was paid in full.

I called on Nov. 12 to check the progress and was told by Pam #71549 that the processing of research had JUST been started on Nov. 11. with no explanation for why. On Dec. 1, I spoke with Steven #74202 to check progress and was told it would be another 1-2 billing cycles and that nothing could be done to rectify the mistake they made. I reminded this rep that the balance was paid and the only outstanding was money they already had. He said that until they resolved it, I would be charged with late fees and possibly reported to a collection agency. On Dec. 12, I spoke with Barbara #BFA who guaranteed the payment would be posted by midnight that night. I called on Dec. 15, and not only had it not been applied, I now had a 39.00 late fee attached. I spoke with Nate #74227 who informed me that they had just sent a letter to me requesting a front AND back copy of the check along with a letter from my bank. When I asked why this had not been the request back on July 29, there was no reason given. I reminded him that GE confirmed back on Oct. 20 that they knew they had the money and even knew the account to which it had been applied. It made no difference to this company.

I got the proof they requested and sent it with a four-page letter from my lawyer threatening legal action if they didnt get their act together. I finally received a letter on Dec. 30 with the resolution and a half-hearted apology for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This company is expert at lying and giving its customers the runaround. It would seem that there is a script they follow to make the process of correcting their mistakes as long and as frustrating as possible. It took five months, over 20 phone calls, research and a scathing letter from my attorney to get them to correct the mistake they knew they made. This letter was also sent to three CEO;s, Mark Begor, Jeff Immelt and William Cary. I have not had the courtesy of a response from these three gentlemen. Judging by the amount of online complaints, I can only assume that they have too many to respond personally. I was never allowed to speak to anyone in the Research Dept. Their customer reps were rude and condescending. I am recommending that the physician who set me up with this Mickey Mouse company find another bank to provide credit to his patients. I would suggest that anyone with a dispute, get an attorney on board immediately, keep records of whom you speak with and what you are told.

We have been a business customer since 1997 and although we are certainly not one of their larger customers we still have spent over $150, 000 in the last two years. We shop at Sam's and Wal-Mart because of the lower cost to us.

However, a situation has taken place that has put our company in jeopardy.

Our credit line is $25, 000 and for the past 12 years we have paid by receipt rather than by statement. This has always been beneficial to us since we pay all of our bills at the end of each week rather than a 30 or 45 day basis. We have always felt that Sam's as a company would benefit from this payment schedule because they would get their money that much sooner.

Approximately a year ago we noticed that the balance on the statement was always rather high and that there was always a service charge, we contacted GE Money office and they sent out several years of statements for us to reconcile with our records. What we found is that although we had paid all invoices we hadn't paid for annual card fees. We subsequently sent payment for said fees.

The first of March one of our employees was in a Wal-Mart store to purchase items for one of our residential homes (we employ developmentally disabled adults and have 8 residential homes for some of them) and was told that we have exceeded our credit limit. Our credit limit is $25, 000 and we just recently sent payments totaling $8, 188.77. I called their office and was told that yes they had received payment however since we send payments more than once a month our payments are held for 6 to 7 days. they have never had a problem with any of our payments for all these many years and we always thought that they as a company would benefit from such prompt payments and we had been completely unaware of the hold. The other problem is that service charges have been accumulating upon service charges since we pay all our invoices when incurred.

We are a company that relies on products from Sam's and Wal-Mart for much of our daily business. Apart from the residential homes and manufacturing facilities we have a full service snack bar at the company and furnish product for 300 employees as well as full service restaurants at a governmental facility and a state hospital.

We have been penalized for being a good customer. We don't understand their attitude, if we as a business gave the same lack of customer service we would be out of business in a heart beat.

They claim they did not receive my January or February payment. The bill due was for $148.32 on January 25th and February 25th. I mailed checks for $165.00 and they cashed both checks. On check cleared my bank on January 14th (11 days earlier) and the other on February 6 (19 days early). Not only are my payments for a larger amount than what is due but my payments are always way early. They are calling me daily harassing me, insisting that I'm late in my payments and that late fees are being charged and my account is in collections. I have called them back, I have written them three letters to every address I have for them with copies of my cancelled checks from the bank and they still call me daily, harassing me. They do not respond to my leters.

I finally have written a letter to my Attorney General. I have recieved a copy of the letter they have sent to GEMB. I am waiting for a reply from GEMB as requested by our A.G. If your A.G. cannot do anything for you, you need to write to the Federal Trade Commissions. These crooks cannot keep on cheating the American public!

A credit card company cannot speak to anyone but the cardholder unless the ch gets on the phone and says their full name and gives permission to speak with a third party. No one can speak on the cardholders behalf written or verbalized. Its a very simple procedure. If your mother is ill, then you can ask for the credit card company to send a third party letter to your mother and have her sign and give permission to speak with a third party. Thats the rules. Its simple if you follow them.

Well. This is March 7, 2009, and I just finished poring over pages and pages of complaints against GE Money Bank aka Care Credit and every other pie they have their finger in. The complaints are so similar in nature, and there are so many, that I am confounded as to why I cannot find a class action suit active against them. Does anyone know of an actual suit that is in progress and where I can contact the attorneys involved?

If not, how many of you are willing to put in the time, effort and investment to bring such a suit about? I am willing to start the ball rolling, but I cannot do it alone. If you are seriously interested, please email me at jackb.bailey@gmail.com. If I find that I can get enough true support, I will begin the groundwork. If you have any information, suggestions, attorney reference, etc., please email me with same. I don't want to hear your stories, just that you are willing to get on board and do something about it.

Complaining may be cathartic, but action brings greater satisfaction!

GE Money Bank needs to be stopped. Let's do it.

I, like all of you am having simaler problems with GEMB. My big question is this: How the heck do they get away with this? As consumers, there has got to be something we can do.
I just got off the phone with wal-mart, and I told them, you guys are making it very hard for me to pay my cc off. Everytime I make a payment, which is more then the min, they take my credit away. And why? I have never been late, nor not paid, why are they hitting our credit reports, which just ruins our credit, and again I ask, how are they getting away with this?
There has to be something more we can do, especially at this time. We have all worked very hard to get where we are today, and along come's GE to mess with our hard earned money? If anybody knows of anything we can do together as consumers please advise. After reading some of the stories here I am outraged.

Oh man don't even get me started with GE Money! They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Their website is not safe or secure, Firefox actually blocks it, won't let me use it. Whenever I need to contact them it takes me 20 minutes to contact someone with a thick Indian accent. Yet when my payment is one day late (they keep switching the due date on me) it's non stop phone calls and you bet the person on the other line is American. Their rates are ridiculous, I can't keep up with my payments which makes things worse. I'm usually pretty responsible when is comes to getting my payments on time and in full. I have a Navy Federal credit card as well. Their service is superb and I never have any problems with them. I'm sending every dime in I have to get it paid off asap and never using them paypal, ebay, or any of their services again!

Hello everyone. I too have been completely screwed by this company. Everyone is talking about doing a lawsuit but no one is doing it. I say we get this suit started. GE MONEY IS NOT JUST CALLING CREDIT CUSTOMERS! THEY ARE TELEMARKETING THEIR CREDIT CARDS! THEY ARE USING TRICKS TO TRY TO AVOID THE "DO NOT CALL LIST REQUIREMENTS BY USING FRAUDULENT TACTICS LIKE CALLING WITH COMPUTERIZED UNKNOWN NUMBERS, TO KEEP UP WITH PHONE NUMBERS THAT HAVE A RECEIVING LIVE CONTACT SO THEY CAN THEN CALL YOU BACK WITH THEIR TELEMARKETING MESSAGE! THIS IS AN ILLEGAL TACTICS THAT THEY ARE USING SO EVERYONE THAT ARE RECEIVING CALLS FROM THEM SHOULD CALL THE FCC TOLL FREE AT: [protected])
ALSO CALL THE Federal Trade Commission TOLL FREE AT: [protected] EVERYDAY THAT YOU RECEIVE THE CALLS AND GIVE THEM GE MONEY TELEMARKETING # [protected] AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THE CALLS THAT YOU ARE RECEIVING AND I GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL GET THEM CAUGHT AND PENALIZED FOR BRAKING THE "DO NOT CALL" LIST RULES! (I HAVE GOT THE FCC INVESTIGATING GE MONEY SO IF EVERYONE ELSE CALL THE FCC ALSO YOU WILL GET GE MONEY PENALIZED)

I too have had these similar experiences with GE Money Bank. Changing due dates, slow processing and jacked up interest rates. I have also had this experience with Bank of America. So, credit seekers beware. They work just like a legitimized GE Money Bank.
On both accounts I have always paid significantly over my minimum due, and generally I have paid earlier than the due date. But, due to the fluctuating due date I have been a couple of days late on several occasions. Mind you, they cannot even report me to the credit bureau until the account is 30 days past due. But, man do they jump on every opportunity to 'steal' from me. The primary reason this pisses me off is that not once in the 7 or 8 years I have been using these organizations did anyone ever give me so much as a "thank you" for paying over and/or early, much less lower my interest rate for keeping my account in good standing. That would be fair business practice in my opinion. But, all of my efforts in speaking with these people has resulted in nothing but me being frustrated.
So, here is what I propose. A class action lawsuit is costly and time consuming and there is no guarantee that we would win a judgement. Let us remember that the people to whom we would submit such an action are driven by the "good old boy" network of greedy money mongers that have put us in the economic crisis we are currently in. I think it is time we woke up and struck a blow at this gargantuan of greed. The only way to strike back is to hit them where it hurts and that means money. So, I have taken on a second job (temporarily) to pay off these two organized crime enterprizes. I have made a pact with my spouse that we will no longer use credit of any sort (save mortgage and current autos). These companies are making their billions off of our burning desire to consume (as advertised to us thousands of time per week). The advertisers have duped us and we have taken the bait. If I really feel strongly I need a big LCD TV, then I'll save for it. Screw them, screw the banks and screw the corporations that have been raping and pillaging the working class for decades. We are the only ones who can stop it. The government will not intervene, they stand to lose too much money too. They are too short-sighted to correlate the boom in credit availability in the US to the beginning of the decline of the US dollar world wide. We (the American consumers) need to take control. We can do that through our own self discipline and due diligence. Stop paying full price whenever possible. Stop using credit at retail locations. I am a heavy electronics consumer. But I will not ever purchase another item on credit. The corporate philosophy in our country has become completely unAmerican. How in a "free" country can our employers tell us what we can and cannot say in a public forum outside the work place, to what organizations we can and cannot belong, drug testing... the list goes on. We have allowed our government to turn over the decimation of our constitution to corporate America. This financial mess is just a symptom of all of this. Let us stop this madness and bring the social classes closer together by screwing the upper 10% for a change.
I am typing this staring at a large hole in my entertainment where my 42" plasm tv used to be (that I am still paying GE Money Bank for) while it is being repaired (yes I got the P.O.S. model :D). I could run out to hhgregg and buy a replacement, but I do not have $2500 to do it. If I were to finance it, guess who hhgregg uses. Why, GE Money Bank, of course. So I will pay for the repair and will not purchase any new equipment until I have resolved these debts. And I will not be establishing new ones. Do not fall for the economy hype. Us getting further and further in debt is only going to bail out the people who do not need to be bailed out. I have little sympathy for them. They are the reason we are in this recession. Screw 'em, let them feel the pain for a while. The rest of us little people ( as Leona Helmsley so elequently put it) have suffered enough.
Sorry for ranting, but man I feel better. :D

I entered into a work out program to pay off my debt and I am abiding by the terms of the agreement and making my monthly payments. However, now I am receiving regular calls at home from someone in India claiming there is no program and they demand full payment immediately. They refuse to recognize the plan and are very offensive. What can I do?

Someone has to do something about this company. I filed bankruptcy and want to continue my payments for a purchase of several years ago. GE Money Bank, heretoforth referred to as crooks, refuse to send me statements and or bills, but expect me to send in payments, not knowing if they are being credited to my account or not. I was informed I could call and find out what my balance is at any time. I'm refusing to do so and am contacting the Attorney General for my state. Everyone needs to contact their state representative and demand they, the crooks, change their "policies" immediately. I'm sending not another penny and they'll never find the "asset" they threatening to repossess. THERE'S GOT TO BE A LAW!

Ask to speak to an American. Talk about how hard it is to understand what they are saying. Ask if you can speak to an American again. Say "huh?" alot. Just try it, its a great feeling. "Are there any Americans there I can speak with? Your accent is very bad. I can hardly understand you.. Huh? Sorry, I don't speak Spanish (haha that one seems to really piss them off.)"

I do this whenever I get an Indian on the other end of the line.

Note that if you do that with a retail chain store or bank, sometimes they actually DO have Americans stashed away in the closet and they will transfer you to them, thats always a nice surprise too.

So basically, don't ever settle for having to take to some foreigner in India about your personal business.

They are crooks and are going bankrupt unless the taxpayers bail them out like AIG. The indian office from Georgia mistook me for someone else and would not stop calling despite 5 requests. Finally gave up and moved to tmobile with a friends list. They stole my landline basically. At first I felt so sad to be cheated and powerless to fight back against foreigners who rape Americans on our own soil. I fell better knowing the others experience similar. I am sad for you, but at least I don't feel as bad knowing they raped so many others

The story is my mother got a credit from them for around $3500 back in Feb '08. We have been making payments $300-$400 a month so that we wont hit the deferred interest charges by the end of the term ends. This month is supposed to be the last month for us to pay the total amount and only $500 left on the balance. However, we got the statement showing additional $700+ deferred interest charges, which is totally ridiculous. I called them a couple of times today and was put on hold for more than 15 mins everytime. But finally, i got to talk to the escalated management or something and i was told that they never waive interest charges. I told them that i am ready to make my last payment of $500 and its not even 3 days after i recieve my statement - they still said NO...i am asked to write a letter to presidential correspondence in El Paso, TX. I've seen so many comlaints against them and it seems like we all are having the same problem with GE.
I am ready to write a letter to them or sue them in order to waive the ridiculous deferred charges and to stop this nonsense company.

This has been my experience with this Company. What recourse do we have with these CROOK'S

To whom it may concern:

My dispute is with a company called Select Comfort /GE Money Bank #[protected]. In 2005 I purchased a bed from select comfort/GEMB utilizing their same as cash in house credit company. All payments were made on time and in full up until the time the bed was return do to poor performance. At that time a refund less shipping was returned to me. They have recorded 3/ 30 day 1/60 day and 1/ 90+ day mark on my report which is affecting my ability to refinance my home and I want it expunged from my record.

Beginning on November 2008 I have contacted several customer service representatives and spent “many” hours on the phone. I finally contacted customer service manager David Richardson ID # D9B026 who apologized and said he had no idea how this could happen. He promised me he would take care of it personally. It has still not been taken care of.

I have also contacted a customer service Manager by the name of Robin on three occasions. She was uncooperative to say the least. She informed me that there was nothing she could do, the transaction had taken place in 2005 and that their records did not go back that far. She said if I had a complaint I would have to send a letter to the customer service department. I told her that I was under the impression that was who
I was speaking to and that I had sent a letter to her department in December of 2008. I also informed her not only did I send a letter, but that I had received a letter back from here department stating that there would be an inquiry into my case and they would contact me with there findings, there was with no response. She informed me again that there was nothing she could do and that she had no record of any letters sent. I then asked to speak to her superior at that point and she informed me she was as high as I could go! I then asked her if she could at least transfer me to customer service manager David Richardson and she said that she worked for a large company and to try to find this manager would be impossible. I find it hard to believe that with all the information given to this individual she could not ether help me her self or transfer me to someone else that could. Not only do I find it unbelievable that someone with this attitude would work in a customer service Department, but that she would have employed at all.

I find it totally unacceptable that one, someone who has paid his bill as agreed upon with your company would have this mistake in the first place and two someone would be subject to a customer service department who was so uncooperative when try to rectify your mistake.

I would appreciate anything at this point you could do in my behalf in this matter.

I OPENED AN ACCOUNT WITH CARE CREDIT IN ORDER TO JOIN A WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM BUT I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO UTILIZE THIS ACCOUNT BECAUSE THE WEIGHT LOSS CENTER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. SO WHEN I STARTED RECEIVING BILLS IN THE MAIL, I INFORMED THEM OF THIS SITUATION. NEXT, COLLECTION AGENCIES AND LAWYERS ARE CONTACTING ME IN REGARDS TO A PAST DUE AMOUNT OF MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL LOAN AMOUNT. AGAIN, THE SITUATION WAS EXPLAINED TO EACH PERSON I SPOKE WITH TRYING TO "COLLECT" THIS MONEY. NOW IT IS ON MY CREDIT REPORT AND ANOTHER LENDER HAS "PURCHASED" THE ACCOUNT. IS THIS FAIR THAT I STILL "OWE" THIS MONEY, EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T SPENT? WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THIS?

My husband and I put new wndows in our house when we bought it in 2006. We were financed though GE Money Bank with no credit card. We have never had any problems with them until the last 2 months. All of a sudden our payments our higher and higher. We have never been deliquent on our payments. When I called their customer service number and your on hold for over a hour. The attitudes of the customer service reps are terrible. They are rude and nasty. Something needs to be done. When I call and ask for a supervisor, I get told there isnt one available. When I went to research how to email them you can only write to them. Any one have any ideas? I need help.

I've had a GE money card for just over two years. Never late and always paid more then the min due.
However, today I received a letter stating they closed my account due to inactity and that on my credit report it well read: Credit line closed, closed by credit grantor. This really pisses me off.

I too have have nothing but TROUBLE w/GEMONEY! The "late payment" theme resounds as I read over other complaints. I get the same run around each and every month and wind up making addl payments and incurring late fee's & finance charges. And yes, there Cust. Serv. is highly skilled at the run around scheme and always say I have keyed the wrong acct info ect., but funny how, after they force you into multiple payments, they need no further confirmation of acct. numbers other than the last 4 digits, and yes they have an excuse for that too. I am planning to pay this loan off for $2000.00 which actually will wind up costing over $3000. w/finance charges, late fees etc. The three CEO's may someday face litigation w/the way they are operating thier business. No wonder our country is suffering financially, these are the guys who helped us get here!

Today I open a letter from GE Money Bank, Informing that my account with them is close. They said base on my entire credit history and not solely on my history with GE Money Bank they gave as the decision. My problem is I never requested any credit increase I paid my account on time with them. This account was open 2007. At that time i gave them my SS number. BUT didn't give them permission to run my credit in 2009. Since my account with them was paid in full never late they had no reason to report any information about me to any credit agency. They told me to call [protected] give my account then they hang up on me. Who gave them the right to run my credit?

I too have recieved the letter in the mail cancelling my current dental care card. I called them only to here the there is nothing they can do. I have never missed a payment and even pay substantially above the minimum. I conveyed this and still there was nothing they could do. I now expect my other card's interest rates to go up for simply no reason at all. Of course, now my great credit is harmed and there is nothing I can do about it. However, if my other cards go up, I will pay them and crappy GE Money Bank can simply wait for their money... until hell freezes over. What is the use in having good credit if a company like this can destroy it at a whim. I have seen and read the current horror stories that this company creates, they are everywhere online and I simply think that if they closed my great account, I will close my payments too them. If my credit is now destroyed, what difference will it make if I don't make their payments?
