Possibly the worst organization I have ever dealt with starting from the CEO Mario Bustamante down to the admin staff that I was forced to deal exclusively with at my residence for cable tv, internet, telephone and alarm monitoring because of a confidential agreement signed by Michael F. Aranda of EH Building Group.

If you are in the same boat you fully understand why this company has a F rating with the Better Business Bureau. We do not enjoy the blazing internet speed and reliability of a fiber optic network. If the telephone connection works the sound quality is poor before the call gets disconnected. As HControl has an agreement with EchoStar why is the TV quality so horrendous?

I agree 100%. There must be some way to use the HOA to oust these attempts at making modeocre acceptable. It is not. iI we demand a change to whatever the alternative cable company is, we can at least begin a discussion as to the particulars of this hollow excuse for a media provider.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and i would not recomend anyone that is buying home arround the DR. Horton communities just because of the fact that you will be stuck with hcontrol hoa services, and according to the contract information, they will continue to be the provider 10 yrs after the last home is built.
gee I wonder when is that going to happen, knowing the way the economy is heading they can't even get employees to work for the cheap salaries they offer to build the last home.
We have to do something about this.
THIS COMPANY SWEARS TO HAVE DIGITAL SERVICES AND THEY DON'T.
THEY SWEAR TO HAVE STATE OF THE TECHNOLOGY AND THEY PROVIDE TECHNOLY THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUE; THE WORST.
why is it that not even the goverments comsumer services can't even do anything about it..
are we completetly along on this one?

I am very very very dissatisfied with this so called cable company. The customer service is shady and the company robs you of your money. I will never reccomend this shady company to anyone ever.

I have learned a valuable lesson. The next time I move, I will research who the HOA deals with. The service H control provides is the worst. It goes down at least once a month (at least) and cable reception is poor. The main reason for this (according to them) is that someone digging in the area has cut a fiber optic line. ONCE A MONTH?

We are attached through East Lake Village in Port Saint Lucie Florida, no other choice...They definately are the worst telecommunications company I have dealt with...but I am spoiled having a husband who worked with BellSouth/At& t for over 3o years...

I agree whomever wrote a contract with our developers are idiots. I have never had a good experience with H-Control, they are the worst company I have ever encountered, WORST Customer service and the service itself is HORRIBLE, I don't know how they are still in business and wish they would just go bankrupt already so we can get out of this insane [censor]ed contract. I flip you off H-Control...

I am forced to use this company by HOA agreement. No options exist. Internet service advertised to be 5 Mbs, I have never seen more that 1.8 ~ 2.1. Service is intermittent. Satellite receivers installed were well used and 1 has a problem with remote control...best advise from H Control was to change batteries...give me a break...do I look that stupid...yet to be corrected. The people try, but it just drags on...the President does NOT return email or calls. (read ~~~ I know I have a problem). They claim to be a cable company, so doe this mean they are a regulated common carrier by the FCC and PUC. If so, some action is mandated.

I live in the Venture West in Aventura. I've been with H Control for the 4 years I've lived in this building. They are the worst company ever. I'm calling Direct TV tomorrow and will finally end the madness. To say I hate H Control, their terrible service and poor signal is being gentle.

Totally Agree, i live in Century Park in Kendall and my service is the worst I ever seen. Thank god that we have Directv...but my internet sucks!

Worst company ever why it's called fiber is beyond me but I'm so happy that I decided to rent a home in mandarin lakes homestead fl. Instead of buying or I'd be stuck forever. If Comcast or At&T were allowed in this area no one would have this turd of a service to say I hate hcontrol or optical tel is an understatement. Lousy is not even good enough to describe the service. Very dissatisfied customer

hcontrol sucks i hope they go out of business. the fastest internet they offer in east lake village is 6 mbps that is NOT FAST ENOUGH! A consumer should have the ability to choose to have faster internet and not be bound by these stupid HOA contracts! h-control release these HOA out of the contract and go out of business you unprofessional losers! new HOAs BEWARE and don't contract with these idiots !

Mediocre payment on line system. I made H control payments on-line and on time. They accept my payments ( I have my payment approved receipts) and after 2 months and 15 days they told me my payment didn't went through because there was a missing digit on my check card at the payment time. So now they are charging me $50 dollars because the system (ACH) they use to charge on line is deficient and doesn´t tell immediately if there is a missing digit on the card number you are providing to pay.
Very bad customer service and lack of solving problems.

We are in Mandarin Lakes in Homestead Fl. The service is TERRIBLE! We are victimized by an unscrupulous company that puts its customers in constant danger... When their sorry phone service doesn't work our alarms don't work... We have had 30+ break in's in our community in last 6 months & 5 on my block in last 2 weeks. This is AMERICA how can a HOA force it's member's & the people that finance it to pay for services that don't work? It's time politicians took a look at HControl & OpticalTel!

Sick and tired of this company. It is amazing they are still in business. The only reason they survive is because they have exclusivity with different associations and they give them a "kick back" to let them be the "ONLY" cable and Internet provider in the buildings.

It is very sad the cheap way they do business. They are literally stealing from people. They charge us for high-speed connection but they really offer only dial-up connection!

I pay almost $80 a month for the highest speed and this is the joke I get. See picture below!

H Control changed their name to Optical Tel due to the bad reputation they had acquired under their original name. The only thing that didn't change was their HORRIBLE service! The type of service they provide is absolutely obsolete! in order to get a good internet connection they require for you to be connected to the wall... Who connects to the wall in 2014? They are rude and basically incompetent! They will get out of business soon!

I dont understand why the owners of the buildings where H Control and or Optical are do not force their boards to get out of these deals. The move is to do it legally. The owners of the homes where the service is provided are the shareholders, the board is there to enforce the will of the shareholders. The board has a duty of good faith, duty of loyalty and a duty of care. All those duties are fiduciary duties that require your board to "shop" around and find the best deals. Case law suggest that a minimum of three bids for any contract is shopping around, and would meet the duty of "care" required in managing the building. Go to your board meetings and vote them out. We have them here in aventura also they are a rip off. For 80 dollars a month Com Cast offers 150-200 mb a second download time. Optical Tel dose not even try to be competitive, because they do not have to. Start a shareholder derivative suit and anyone involved in those kick backs will run scared. We just put three of our old board members in another property I own away for a 11 million dollar kick back scam. Do not sit quiet. Board members and building management companies rely on the fact that its shareholders do not know their rights under the law and will not act on them. Get a lawyer involved see how fast things change. HOA's do not protect the people who make the places they manage there homes. Good luck. And unfortunately Optical Tel will not go out of business as long as there able to solidify these contracts.

HCONTROL IS THE WORST PROVIDER! WE CAN'T EVEN CALL FREE TOLL-FREE NUMBERS AND ARE FORCED TO PAY MISCELLANOUS CHARGES MADE UP BY THEM! Don't move into Century Gardens Village! These big beautiful houses are not worth the trouble of using HCONTROL! Don't ever move into Century Gardens Village! Listen to our advice! You are only allowed to use Hcontrol when you buy or rent a house from Century Gardens Village. Hcontrol is a Monopoly. 9/1/2015 sergio

I couldn't agree more! The service is "F" rated all around, from the quality of the telephone service that works whenever it can to the well over priced internet that has slow speeds, many interruptions of lost connections per month and cable picture quality if the pits except for the one HD channel we have. When you call customer service you get the worst and rudest representatives ever! They can never adjust the bill for service interruptions even though they last longer than 24 + hours is what I'm always told. After many unpleasant, frustrating and unproductive telephone encounters with the representatives and supervisors I've come to see that my services are merely a reflection of the entire ah control / Opticel company.

Funny, they tell me I am the only one having a problem. 5 years my phone's caller ID says I am someone else. They say they are working on it 5 YEARS! My internet is always going off and back on all day long. They told me that they can't keep up during the winter because too many people are using it. My cable drops out all day long too, looses signal. "Well, we have to catch it when it is acting up" so that won't get fixed either. Finally, I send a check to them through my local bank online. It is due the 15th of the month. I kept on getting $5 late fees. I found out after a few months of sending them earlier and earlier that they don't always check their mail. The billing lady told me that they only check it like twice a month. So they are too lazy to check their mail and I pay an extra $5. STAY out of Sail Harbor, they just signed another 5 years!
