I worked for target for about 10 months and they made my life a living hell while i worked there.
I was hired September 2007 and finally quit the company may of 2008.This target had a majority of African American workers maybe 3 white people and 1 or 2 Mexicans. When they first hired me I wanted a cashiers position but they didn't have anything available. Needing a job i took a position in the backroom. The pay was $7.75 an hour and it was full time. I'm 4'9" tall and I was having doubts that I could do the job properly. The team leader who is in charge of the backroom workers was a complete idiot and didn't really show me and another employee how to do the job right. The guy barely did his job right.
I tried my hardest to get what jobs done i could and the ones i couldn't were left for others to do. I saw many, many workers leaving target for whatever their reasons were and at the time it never dawned on me that they hated the working environment. The job didn't seem to hard except when the calves dropped which was at 11, 2 a clock and so on.(calves are batches of product we pull from the back and get ready for the instock team to push out to the floor)... Calves are done on a timed basis and are usually heavy loads. I was usually working alone in the backroom because they didn't have a lot of workers in the back. I struggled for over a month trying to do this job i was constantly brought into my managers office because i was either crying from too much stress or i wasn't doing my job right.
Finally they took me out of the backroom and placed me into ad prep. You know those stupid signs that say this product is on sale or price cut, yeah i was putting those up. There were three people on this team we had to do a take down put up every single Saturday and only 2 of us were required to do this. there was one lady on my team who was just irritating as hell and couldn't seem to mind her own business. This is around the time i started to feel a lot of pain in my shoulder. so i did this job until after christmas and after having tuns of problems with this lady they moved me to cashier.
I loved being a cashier, it was something i was good at and it showed. One day after work I was in excruciating pain in my left shoulder and had to go to the urgent care. As you know urgent care sucks heavily and takes forever so i didn't end up getting out of there until late that night. They tried to write it off as a muscle spasm and it was suppose to go away after a couple weeks. a couple weeks later i was still in a lot of pain and i went back to the same urgent care. This time the person i had seemed a lot more interested in my pain and said i might have a rotercuff tear. After seeing a specialist about this i had to return to AZ because my parents insurance I was under wasn't going to cover anymore out of state medical procedures. to make a longer story short I was forced to quit target they didn't honor my 2 week notice and wrote me off as not eligible for rehire. They also would not honor my request for workman's comp.
Anyways here it is months after I left target and I am still in a lot of pain.. doctors cant figure out whats wrong and they keep telling me its just tendinitis. now i have lower back pain from this too...
anyways target sucks they do not honor anything they are suppose to and there just a horrible horrible company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Considering that you call them calves, when they are actually CAFS (computer automated fills), makes me think that you are either lying, you were a terrible team member, or you are just stupid.
Furthermore, why should Target pay you workman's comp? You never said that you were injured while working at Target, and it appears that you dealt with this pain for a long time. I find it hard to believe that you hurt yourself stuffing the ad or ringing up guests.
Perhaps you are just a whiny little baby?
Care for some crackers and cheese to go with that whine? zzzzzzzz
I too have been hurt on the job, and I can tell you that Target needs for you to prove that you actually hurt yourself at Target and needs you to pinpoint the date and around the time you hurt yourself. If not for that, then any Team Member could claim to have been hurt on the job and get free medical attention. I have seen many Team Members like you. No matter which area you move them to, they always have something to complain about. It seems to me that you have a problem with any kind of work.
I used to work for Target, and one of my co-workers got injured while working. She hit her head very hard and was concerned about a concussion, something she had had before. She called the LOD to file an incident report and he told her to WAIT UNTIL LATER, obviously hoping she would forget about it or the problem would go away. I think this is a terrible attitude to take and I was shocked at the lack of concern for the worker's health. I have no idea whether they are instructed to act this way or whether this guy was just terrible.
I had a series of problems with the management, which caused me to leave after 5 or 6 months.
I too work for Target, and finding that there are management problems in way workers are treated.
I hope you are able to get your situation cleared up.
Good luck.
Target is horrible! They do not care about the employees! Managers do not care! I have an injury and was told it was nothing by my manager and now I can barley walk! He should have sent me to the doctor right away but didn't and really he didn't care one way or another! Yes I was injured on the job and it was not my fault! I don't know what to do! I need to keep working but I really shouldn't!
I'm sorry, you didn't get to the racial part
