We Tour America NO Refund !

Like everyone else, I was selected for a "free" vacation. Because I have used a company similar to WE TOUR AMERICA before I knew it wasn't free and that I would have to attend a very long information session when we would would travel somewhere. This wasn't the problem.

After talking them down, I paid $249.00 to save our spot. I did confirm that we could travel with them in the next 18 months. My family and I made a plan and we were good to go. THEN my significant other was called to DEPOLY WITH THE U.S ARMY. So just like my paperwork said along with the sales lady on the phone, I mailed in my cancellation paperwork just before my 30 days was up and I also called the company back. When I called them and explained to the lady on the phone my situation she gave me the option to keep my package or sell it to someone else. SHE OFFERED to me that if i were to keep it that she would put an extention on my package for it to be used within 3 years. BECAUSE she offered this I said "yes do not cancel. If for some reason I do not use it I will just sell it." This seemed reasonable and NICE of her, I knew that they wanted to keep my business.

Awhile later they called me back and said my package was cancelled because I did not use it within the 18 months. They gave me the option to pay more money and if I didn't I would completely lose my $249.00. I explained to them that "Miss sales lady" extened my package for 3 years. They even said that they saw the notes in my folder but because I didn't use a extra hotel deal within a certain amount of time that the whole package was cancelled ! I made it clear to them that I would have NEVER EVER agreed to the extention under these circumstances because of the reason I attempted to cancel in the first place. The man on the phone said it wasn't his fault and he cant' fix it. I asked for the lady's name who typed in the notes and asked to speak with her but said"Miss sales lady" didn't work there anymore and that he CAN NOT GIVE ME WHAT SHE AGREED!

I will never use this company or recommend them to anyone. THEY ARE TERRIBLE ON THE PHONE AND YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK! THEY ALSO WILL NOT STOP CALLING MY CELL PHONE EVEN AFTER I HAVE ASKED THEM TO STOP OVER AND OVER. WHEN THEY CALL, THEY ALWAYS ACT LIKE THEY ARE THE FIRST ONES THAT HAVE EVER CALLED YOU AND THEY DO NOT READ YOUR NOTES BEFORE HAND.

We Tour America unauthorized credit card transaction

Missed several calls per day for two days and after finally answering, was told I had won the Orlando, FL vacation package 4 days/3 nights, etc. Then they say they pay for 80% of expenses and we only pay 20%, yay! I was told the hotel stay, meals, and passes to theme parks were included. It sounded promising. They said there was a small one-time fee for processing, I gave a credit card number, and then they transferred me over to the authorization department. After obtaining more information from her, I come to learn the included 'meals' are the hotel's continental breakfast. HAHA! The lady was a real fast talker, she said 'you only pay for incidental expenses, like xxx, meals, xxx...' Meals are incidental expenses?! Oh, we just happened to get hungry so it was not included? The catch is to pay $498 on your credit card, to cover the supposed hotel reservations, even though you can book this trip at any time within the next 18 months, so there IS NO reservation yet, so how can they need money to cover it? None of it made any sense to me, so I told her forget it, it was off, they said too late, we charged your card already. I now have to contact a different number to reverse. Thanks.

They pulled the same thing w me minutes ago. I Googled them as soon as they called, saw these complaints. When I asked him about them, the guy on the phone just kept dodging the questions and pressing to get my CC info. When I finally told him I needed to see the package details and all the legalese first he played the "I don't have the authorization to do that" card. -- HA, of course you don't... No sale buddy, scam someone else.

Hahah...I just got one of these calls yesterday. We attended the piccadilly circus and entered into a drawling about 2wks ago. A winner was picked at the circus so when he called me I was confused. He said you checked off married we pick one person from each criteria where you live, your marital status and occupation. Is you husband there we can call him he says. So I said sure call him on three way. The man said are you sitting down(to my husband) you and your wife just won a trip to disney. I still was not getting excited I actually thought my husband was phone tapping me on radio or something it seemed so bizarre. And the man said its 4days 3night 2 adults 2children free. I say well i have 3kids my baby is 1 he said well she gets in free anyway to disney and hotel. He says you checked off mastercard when you entered is that what you will be using for the $498? I say for what you don't pay for things if they're free he said its a tax you pay like when oprah gave away those cars people had to pay taxes on them or like when you win the lottery. I said yes you claim it on your taxes at the end of year I am actually somewhat familiar with tax laws. I asked how many others he called like this today he told me I was only one. I said well this seems a bit sketchy bc I caught 3 errors in our conversation 1) you said my 2kids were free but latter on you said you could get them discounted tickets so which is it? 2) You said we have to use the trip within 18months and then you said it never expires I can wait to go to disney until my baby is 3 so quick math says that doesn't make sense. 3) You claimed this free trip estimated $4000 but actually that commercial on tv for disney says less than $2000 for family of 4. When Im done paying for flight, food and rental on top of you $500 well I didn't save anything..
My poor hubby seemed so excited I'll have to take him somewhere special this family vacation. Good luck if anyone gets sucked in bc the man seemed like such a sweet older gentleman and my husband said himself if he wouldn't have ended the conversation he would have paid it bc it seemed real. What type of person would scam a family when you can hear a baby in background.

We Tour America MORE LIKE WE SCAM AMERICA

I was contacted by this company after a drawing I entered at a baseball game. The woman was overly excited, claiming I had won a drawing for a free vacation getaway. Yay, I thought! Her name was Alyssa, and she explained that this was a "one time only" call and proceeded to explain details while being overly nice and cracking lighthearted jokes.

She asked me if I had a husband or significant other in the room and asked that he also be put on the call. My boyfriend joined the call, and after 40 minutes of pumping us about Cancun, Florida, Vegas, New Orleans, etc, we were actually pretty excited. Continuing to use humor, she stated that I deserved a nice vacation some breakfast in bed from by boyfriend, so be warned, another one of the tactics is some guilt leverage on your significant other's behalf.

Next, she mentioned that she needed my credit card number to change $498 and secure the order. I was hesitant to give up my credit card info, but I did. I then asked to have a moment to discuss the "Free Trip" before making a decisions. After a quick google search I found a plethora of complaints against the company, I expressed that I did NOT authorize my card to be charged, but that didn't stop them! When I returned to the phone, Alyssa, had already RAN MY CREDIT CARD UNAUTHORIZED for $498.00.

I was then told I was uneducated and ignorant by the woman.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND THEIR WEBSITE LOOKS LIKE A TURD!

We Tour America NONE

I bought a package I was selected for last year. We just got back from our spring break trip and it was FANTASTIC! I know I was very leary at first but the director eased my mind showing me all the liscense and such as I am a very skepital person because Ive been taken many times before... I went through with it because of the 100% money back guarantee, and Im very satisfied! The Florida trip was great with the family anf I cant wait until this summer becasue they even gave be a special trip to VEGAS! Thanks to Stacy, and customer service they have been such a great help! Looking forward to many more trips with them. I learned a lesson, everything that seems too good to be true always isnt!

We Tour America Company is a SCAM

In February 2011 I attened an outdoor show in Monroeville, PA were I signed up for several drawings. A few weeks later I received a phone call from a man who asked me if I was sitting down then told me I won a free vacation package to several destinations and the package was worth something like $3, 000. After his spill I told him I saved all my vacation time up for hunting season since I was a whitetail hunting freak. He then preceded to tell me that I could pick from several destination some of which offered great hunting and fishing. He made it sound like everything was included except the travel. After I agreed the man told me he would need me to submit a payment of $498 to receive this great winnings. So I questioned him on way I would need to pay for something I won and he told me that if they would give it to me for free I would have to pay more then $498 dollars to the IRS for taxes. Being gullible I gave in and agreed. A day or two later I received my package information via email. After looking into everything I learned that I could have gotten the same so called deal via their website and none of the packages included hunting or fishing, only a place to stay. I immediately called the compnay and after several attempts I finally got ahold of a lady to tell her I wanted to cancel and get my money back since the terms and conditions stated YOU MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT ANY PENALTY OR OBLIGATION WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE OR RECEIPT OF THE VACATION CERTIFICATE, WHICHEVER OCCURS LATER. After a long conversation with her as she told me how great a company they were that only ever had one complaint who happed to be a kid that got ahold of the parents credit card (wish I would have said no and looked at this site first) I told her I did not get what I was sold and wanted my refund now. Finally she told me that I needed to put an "x" through the terms and conditions page and mail it to them with an explaination of why I wanted to cancel.

In the meantime, I also filed a complaint with my bank and ended up getting my money back. However, I just learned that the bank refunded the amount while the investigation took place. I though all was good until the bank sent me a letter stating I lost my claim because I was out of town and did not fill out some paper work they sent me (They are no longer my bank). I called We Tour America to find out were my refund was and all and behold they never got the cancellation I mailed and the 30 days were up so to bad for me but not refund. If I ever get the pleasure to met Mr. John Hummell IV I promise I will stick my Marine Corps boot where the sun does not shine for all he has scammed.

We Tour America Scam and fraud

they phoned me up and said i got this awesome deal, discount deal on a trip to Orlando Florida. They said they would send me a package in the mail, which i never recieved, and that i would also get on via email. I go the email, but no package in the mail.

I emailed through their webiste about a month after, and said that i no longer wanted this package, as they told me that i could cancel anytime. Well, when i went to refund and cancel, they told me on the phone i had 30 days after confirmation. Well, now I'm out $513 before Christmas. i phoned the lady at Customer Service, and she basically told me that i could not refund it, that i was locked in. that i had 30 days, and if i opened the attachment, which i never recieved, that i would have read that.

Now I'm out $513 for christmas. its a SCAM

We Tour America Wanted credit card for free trip

Were contacted on 11/28/10 on a Sunday night that I had just been selected from 10, 000 people who attended the North American Livestock Expo that I had won a free Disney Vacation that I put my name in a drawing for. Was I sitting down? Was questioned why I was so calm as most people were screaming in his ear! I was sceptical and that is why I was calm-wanted to hear the details and determine the hook. Asked if my husband would get on the phone. Explained we won a free 4 day 3 night trip to Disney at a Marriot or Hilton Hotel and then a 4 day 3 night trip to Orlando and then could chose 2 bonus vacations from a list of 20 through a hot spot on the internet. Gave me the internet site and a phone number to call after I hung up the phone. Asked me my childrens names and said they would be free and that my husband and I had an 80%discount for only $249 each. Wait-- wasn't this a free trip I just won. Asked for our credit card numer and when my husband told him we don't give that out over the phone. He got upset and said he had never been questioned before. That they were bonded in FLorida and that the Expo we attended check them out and only allow legitamite businesses. Said we could not hang up the phone to look them up but gave me a phone number and a license number in FLorida. My husband and I quick looked them up as we were talking and felt this was a scam of some sort. We got back on the phone and barely got the sorry we are just not comfortable out of our mouth when the man hung up on us. Afterward I spent some time looking this company up and am determined that if I had given them my credit card number, they would have taken $500 out of my account and then not refunded it if I had changed my mind on the so called FREE trip. Total Scam!

Wow! I went through the exact same thing today. Guy called my cell phone from a 805 number and I picked up. On the other end this guy was talking to me as if he had known me for years. He told me he drew my name out of a hat. I didnt remember where I signed up for the drawing so I questioned him . He told me the name of a local bar I visit quite frequently. So I continued to allow him to tell me what I won. He was good at what he did, he could have sold a rock to me. He then got his manager on the phone and his manager told me he would do it for 298 bucks. Yeah right I told him! I hung up...he called back I acted as if the phone got disconnected and he told me I had to give the money now. I told them I could not make that decision without my wife's opinion. He told me to call her while I waited... WOW... I called my wife ...she told me to google them... I did and thank GOD I did

Went through the same thing today...I wouldn't give my credit card number either. They were rude and asked me if I had ever bought anything online before...I said yes, airline tickets through Continental Airlines because I knew who I was dealing with and also I knew what I was getting when I purchased it. Told them if I couldn't see what I was getting in writing I would not ever consider giving a credit card to them, if I had to the conversation was over...put the high pressusre guy then on the line with me and he was even ruder so I told him the conversation was over. I feel sorry that there are people that fall into those traps and so many times they don't get anything at all or they don't get what they expect. Government controls everthing else too bad they can't control the scams that are out there.

We Tour America Free trip

I was called stating i had just won a free trip to disney and other trips to the beach and mini vacations. Then said it would be $498 billed to any credit card we had and the trip would be ours.
At first it sounded good but as we were talking to her i had to look at better business bureau which they were not accredited with! Then i looked up the company name on google to see what websites had about them. There were red flags going up!
My husband had given them the credit card number but when then they asked to verify i said no and once i said there are many complaints about the company she gave us their website. Then she stated she would take an extra hundred off if we reconsidered.
We told her no thanks and that they weren't authorized to take a penny out of our account ever. As we were getting off the phone the amount had already been taken from the account! Hopefully we can keep this from happening to any one else!

We Tour America Poor Customer Service

On May 7, 2009 I received a phone call from We Tour America promoting their vacation package. I have had great experiences with other vacation companies, so I went ahead and signed up for We Tour America. On May 22, 2009 I tried to contact the compnay and there was no answer. So on May 26, 2009 I contacted We Tour America to request a refund. I spoke to one of their representatives and she stated that a refund could not be issued. I cited 559.933 Florida Statue. After much disagreement, the We Tour America Representative still held on to that a refund could not be issued. On April 27, 2010, I tried to make a reservation for one of the vacations. The customer service was extremely rude and not helpful in providing assistance in making a reservation. I have serious doubts if I will be able to redeem this package. If you have had a poor experience with We Tour America; file a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service; Division of Consumer Services. You can file a complaint online at http://www.800helpfla.com/complnt.html. The process to file a complaint is easy and simple. Do not allow We Tour America to take advantage of you!

I just went through the same thing today. My friend and I had gone to a local event called Party In The Park and we filled in various forms around the park to win things. I received the same type of call and the caller couldn't understand why I wasn't really showing any great excitement. I had a feeling a few minutes into the conversation where it was headed and than he hit me with the cost of $498 and I still listened because I thought he was going to send me the complete information when he made sure all my information was correct and than I could decided when and if I really wanted to take this trip. He than asked me for my credit card number and when I told him I didn't give my credit card number to anyone over the phone, he became very rude and asked me if I had ever bought anything over the phone or the internet. I said yes, I bought airline tickets but I also knew I was talking to Continental Airlines when I gave my credit card number or purchased tickets on the internet. I said I would only consider giving my credit card number when I was ready to purchase and only after I saw in writing what they were really offering us. He said he would see if he could do it that way, soon, another young man came on the phone and proceeded to high pressure me, I said I would not give my credit card number to them until I saw what I was purchasing and if that was not possible the conversation would be over. He told me the form I filled out said a credit card was required and I replied, "It didn't say it was required before you saw what you were getting and I am going to end this conversation right now because I am not going to argue with you. I than hung up.

We just received a call from We Tour America on a Sunday evening saying that I had won a free trip to Disney and that I should be doing cartwheels. I had to get my husband on the phone and they explained that I was the just picked computer winner from the 10, 000 entries at the North American Livestock Expo in Louisville, KY. Told us we won free 4 day 3 nights at Hiton or Marriot at Disney and then another 4 day and 3 nights in Orlando and that we could then chose from a list of 20 other locations for another trip. Was floored that I was not excited. Said I was the only one who had not screamed in his ear. Asked for my kids names and ages and then my credit card number. I asked why I needed to give a credit card number for a free trip and he was immediately defensive. No one had ever questioned him. They were bonded in FLorida and the Expo we had attended only allowed legitamite businesses and had already checked them out. Gave me their licensing number and We tour America number to call only after I would give the credit card number. We said we were not comfortable with that and he again was just floored we would question him as it was only $249 for each adult and free for our 2 children. Wait? I thought this was a free trip? We could barely get the words sorry we are not interested it just doesn't feel right out before he hung up on us. Went to the internet and read other complaints and am so glad I did not give out any information. Beware. I know we would have been scammed now.

We Tour America Terrible experience

In the begining of March 2008 my wife and I attended the Carl Casper Auto Show in Louisville, KY where she signed us up for a drawing for a free Disney vacation. A couple of weeks later I received a phone call. The female on the other end asked if I was sitting down and then told me that I had won a Disney vacation. She acted upset that I was not suprised. I asked her how was I to know that she wasn't someone running a scam. (Turns out she was.)

She assured me that she represented a credible company then went on to explain to me how they give these vacations away. My wife and I were to tour some hotels or resorts and then tell our freinds how great they were. All I had to do was pay $399.00 for this package up front. Some free vacation! I ended up telling her that I was not interested and could not afford it and hung up the phone.

She called back a few minutes later. This time I was told that all I had to pay was 50% up front, and if I wished to cancel I could do so at ANY time and receive a full refund. Like a fool, I ended I handed the phone to my wife and allowed her to purchase the package over the phone. This was on March 27 2008.

Over the past year I've realized that I'm not going to be able to aford to go on this so called free vacation. Especially after losing my job a couple of months ago. On March 25, 2009 I called for the refund that I was told I would get at anytime. They told me that I was only able to receive a refund after the first 30 days of the purchase. Then they played a recording of my wife purchasing the package over the phone and no where did they mention anything about their refund policy to her. And this recording is supposed to be some sort of legal contract apparently.

When my wife talked to them the woman on the phone called her stupid and ignorant. How's that for customer service?

These people will lie to you and tell you that you are not obligated to go on one of their vacations and that they will refund your money at anytime just to get to your hard earned money.

Beware of We Tour America and the President John Hummell, who also was the owner of Grand Vacation Getaways which is now out of buisiness, and has had numerous complaints filed against them. These people will take your money and laugh in your face and apparently what they do is legal! God bless America.

I also had a horrible experience cancelling this "vacation package." During my cancellation process I encountered rude, snippy, down right disrespectful customer service reps, lies, trickery and many headaches. These people will do anything to turn things around on you and make their company "credible and legit." I still have no idea what the actual name of the company is because I was told everything ranging from Tour America, Inc. to We To America to Touring America. This should have been the only red flag I needed from the start, but who doesn't want a super cheap vacation. Anyway, the cancellation process was dreadfully painful. It took multiple arguments with customer service and "legal" departments until I finally got them to approve my cancellation request. I now have to wait 30-45 days for a refund which I know first hand is ludicrous, but not worth the argument and this point.

Also, be aware of what you say and what they say to you. After this whole thing was said and done I noticed that the only person who gave me a name was the guy who sold me the package. No one gave me a first name or anything when answering the phone. Also, these people are very good and carefully omitting certain things from recordings so that they are easier to work in their favor. These people are smart and have been conning people for years. I do not think their vacations are scam, but I would never consider them credible.

I would VERY STRONGLY suggest any person that is contacted by this company steer clear! Do not answer their calls, do not purchase any package, do not even give them the time of day. They will turn everything around on you and stick you with a ### vacation deal on your own dime! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR ENERGY IT WILL ONLY CAUSE YOU FRUSTRATION AND A DENT IN YOUR WALLET.

I just find if quite weird that your voice can be used as verbal contract, but when you call to cancel, its needs to be in writing. My girlfriend contacted them on 11/22/10 to cancel, the rep told her she couldn't cancel, and referred her to the "legal department", which would call her back by 4 PM that day. A regular supervisor not from the legal department called her back after 4 and left a message requesting when she wants to use her package. The following day which was yesterday 11/23/10, my girlfriend called again, the rep told her that her requested needed to be in writing, but it was too late eventhough we signed up on 10/27/10, which is in the 30 day window. The Rep told us even if we overnighted the cancellation request, that it wouldn't work since it would surely be processed after the 30 days were up. Rep also claimed we couldn't fax the cancellation request in either. So we sent it overnight last night with signature confirmation, guaranteed to be delivered by noon today (11/24/10). It shouldn't be this hard to cancel something within the alloted time period. Also in Florida Statutes 559.933 Vacation certificate cancellation and refund provisions. There is no stating in there that it needs to be in writing. I'm just quite confused why they can't use your voice to cancel it, if they can use your voice to hold you to the contract. Aren't both calls recorded or just the ones they want to use against someone. The Better Business Bureau has processed a total of 31 complaints about Tour America.com, Inc. in the last 36 months. Of the total of 31 complaints closed in 36 months, 12 were closed in the last year.

For the most part, these complaints are from persons, who made their Buying Decision based on emotion, instead of Logic. Then, the next day these people experience "Buyer's Remorse", or realize they can not afford it, so they make up a bunch of alleged misrepresentations by Tour America Representatives. It is like the Lady, who buys a dress at a store, because it looks good at the Store, but she realizes when she gets it home that she does not like it as much as she thought, so INSTEAD of just taking it back to the store, she tears a little hole under the arm, and says it is defective.

The Digitally Recorded Verification, as well as the actual Travel Confirmation Documents plainly state, " This is NOT a Contest, Lottery or Free Offer ", and that by FL State law you have 30 days to cancel your purchase by submitting said request in writing to Tour America. On one hand the Consumer gives their credit card for the $498 purchase price, and agrees to the statement that this Offer is NOT a Contest, Lottery or Free offer, and then on the other hand (Buyers Remorse) they try to say they thought they had won the package (put a hole under the arm of the "Dress"). It is truly incredible to watch Human Nature in action, and see how weak some People truly are, as they refuse to be Responsible for their Actions & Decisions.

Just read the many many many Testimonials from those who had the smarts to enjoy the purchase they made from Tour America (www.wetouramerica.com), and you will soon realize you can NOT find a Vacation of this QUALITY at such a reasonable price. And remember, the ORIGINALS of these Testimonials are on file with the Florida Dept of Consumer Affairs, so you can VERIFY each of them are for REAL !

Tour America NEVER contacts a potential Customer unless that Person attended a Major Show or Event in their area (Home, Boat, Auto, Fair, etc), and personally filled out a Registration Form in their OWN hand writing for a Florida Getaway. Tour America cherishes each of It's Customers, and has found that 90% of those who complain are almost ALWAYS young, financially UNstable Persons, who made a decision based soley on emotion, and then soon realize they can't afford the purchase they made, and instead of handling it in a mature manner, they tend to resort to false allegations, etc, which they feel is the way they can get their money back, when all they have to do is send a written request of cancellation within 30 days of their Purchase ? Again, it is kind of like that young gal, who purchases a dress that she thinks looks great on her while at the store, but soon realizes it doesn't look so well in the light at home, and also suffers from the realization that she really can't afford it to begin with, so she tears a little hole in it, as she feels this is the only way to get her money back.

Simply put, Tour America is more interested in dealing with the mature Customer, who really can appreciate the Value they are receiving, and make their decisions based on logic & affordability. They are also educated enough to know that they are 100% protected by their credit card against any & all fraudulant charges. Hence, they realize this is actually the safest, most convenient method of purchasing. Not to mention, ALL Hoteliers REQUIRE a major credit card for Check In...Looking forward to Hosting you all in the Sunshine State.

We had a great trip. The reservation Process went very well. The rooms were
very nice. The first tour, however, was okay. The tour itself was very good along
with the lady that was giving us the tour. When we got to the tour site, they picked
us up in a golf cart and drove us to the tour. We did not purchase, we had to walk
back to our car. Which would have been such a big deal if it hadn't been a 100
degrees, and walking with a 2 and 4 year old. The second tour had a lot more to
offer. It was different then a timeshare program. The gentleman at this program
was very laid back and understanding of the girls, which was really nice. Although
we refused this one also, they were a lot nicer group of people. All in all we had a
blast. Our girls loved Disney World and the beach. Thanks so much for the trip.

Hi Lisa, We just returned from our Florida vacation. We had great weather and lots
of good memories. The places were nice and st. Augustine was beautiful ( thanks
for recommending it). Thank you again for your help making our trip a success. My
mom, son, husband and I all thank you. The only down side was we came home
to 25 degree weather and about 2 inches of fresh fallen snow from today.

We Tour America Dishonest company

In the beginning of March 2008 my wife and I attended the Carl Casper Auto Show in Louisville, KY where she signed us up for a drawing for a free Disney vacation. A couple of weeks later I received a phone call. The female on the other end asked if I was sitting down and then told me that I had won a Disney vacation. She acted upset that I was not surprised. I asked her how was I to know that she wasn't someone running a scam. (Turns out she was.)

She assured me that she represented a credible company then went on to explain to me how they give these vacations away. My wife and I were to tour some hotels or resorts and then tell our friends how great they were. All I had to do was pay $399.00 for this package up front. Some free vacation! I ended up telling her that I was not interested and could not afford it and hung up the phone.

She called back a few minutes later. This time I was told that all I had to pay was 50% up front, and if I wished to cancel I could do so at ANY time and receive a full refund. Like a fool, I ended I handed the phone to my wife and allowed her to purchase the package over the phone. This was on March 27 2008.

Over the past year I've realized that I'm not going to be able to afford to go on this so called free vacation. Especially after losing my job a couple of months ago. On March 25, 2009 I called for the refund that I was told I would get at anytime. They told me that I was only able to receive a refund after the first 30 days of the purchase. Then they played a recording of my wife purchasing the package over the phone and no where did they mention anything about their refund policy to her. And this recording is supposed to be some sort of legal contract apparently.

When my wife talked to them the woman on the phone called her stupid and ignorant. How's that for customer service?

These people will lie to you and tell you that you are not obligated to go on one of their vacations and that they will refund your money at anytime just to get to your hard earned money.

Beware of We Tour America and the President John Hummell, who also was the owner of Grand Vacation Getaways which is now out of business, and has had numerous complaints filed against them. These people will take your money and laugh in your face and apparently what they do is legal! God bless America.

I entered a raffle at a beer festival like the other person on here and was told I won a free FL vacation so naturally I was very excited. But then I was told it's actually not free but I'd have to pay this $398 fee, which they explained was due to the fact that they couldn't just give it for free or there would be luxury taxes so it works out about the same anyway. That sounded reasonable enough but I wanted time to think about it and read the details. However, they were very pushy on the phone and wouldn't let me think about it and decide later (or I would lose the offer). In the offer details, they told me I could take up to 3 friends with me, that I would have 18 months to book and could go to 2 locations in FL plus 2 bonus locations at other places (with upto 3 friends each time), and all I had to pay was this $398 plus any hotel taxes and air fare. It sounded like a great deal and I used to live in FL and was hoping for a trip back there, so I thought this could be great, so I went for it even though I had some serious reservations, but they were just so pushy on the phone and managed to convince me using their pressure tactics making me feel like I was an idiot not to. They did explain I would have to do an hour long tour of a timeshare for the first day on the trips and that's how it was so cheap since that was part of how they got their funding, but it still sounded reasonable enough. Well in this year I was in transition having just moved to Pittsburgh and with a new job and didn't know if I could take a trip in that year, but they had told me no problem that I could extend it upto 18 months simply by calling when it got closer to the end. But after a year I got a phone call that my trip had expired and that I would have to pay money to get it extended, even though they had told me before all I had to do was call and ask to get it extended. There was never anything about a charge. Plus I was supposed to get 18 mo not 12 mo. The first person was extremely rude to me when I indicated surprise at this fee and hung up on me very rudely after indicating what an idiot I was for not thinking this offer was so amazing and extending it, or thinking that I could've extended it for free. Then someone else called a month later and was nicer at first but once it was clear I wasn't paying anymore money he got nasty too. I finally asked just out of curiosity how much the fee was to extend it and he said another $398?! I was like I have to pay the same amount I already paid to extend it? And he said actually the package you purchased was for a "couple" not an individual, and you would've had to pay that other $398 eventually anyway once you booked the trip (and would this be $398 for each trip it was sounding like but I didn't clarify since I was so upset at this point). That this way you just have to pay it up front so it's the same price in the end. Again I said what are you talking about, I purchased this as a single package where I was told I could bring 3 friends all for this one price (since we had to pay our own transportation and would be sharing the same room). I was NEVER told I had to bring another person (vs traveling solo if I wanted to) who would also pay another $398 or I would've never signed up for this. That is not even a good deal anymore since it didn't even include transportation and we were going to share the same room. Then he got really nasty and asked how old I was and when I responded he said, "so you are 32 years old and you actually believed you could get all this for $398? How stupid are you?" I said I was told I had won a vacation at a raffle and that this was ridiculous how shady they were being. Then he angrily hung up on me. This company is awful and stealing from people. I think they should be shut down. I would like my money returned to me as it is clear I will never be using this trip (they said I forfeited the money now since I didn't book in the first 12mo).

I registered for the free trip at the gay pride this year. One because the girl kept stopping us and hounding us every time we walked by, two because alcohol was involved. When I received the phone call that I had won the trip from the president of the company, John Humell, he told me it was first come first serve. I told him I didn't have that kind of money to purchase the package. He then said I could make two payments of 149 and some change, I agreed and gave my card information. I contacted my job right after, asking about my vacation pay. They informed me that it would not acquire till the end of my first year there. I've only been at my job for 3 months, I only have 18 months to use up all four trips, and we need 60 days prior to inform wetouramerica. I realized that same day I would not be able to take the trips. I called the customer service line within 2 hours of my purchase requesting for a refund. The only person who could help me was out for the day.( of course). I called back 3 times the next day and left a voicemail each time. No one got back to me in days. Finally I got the money back into my account in 7 days( 7 days too long). I received a phone call the next day from their customer service. She informed me they did cancel everything out. I brought up that I was scheduled to have another payment taken out 9/19/2013. I asked her to make sure it wasn't taken out. She said I won't be because all my information will be cancelled out. 2 weeks later 9/19/2013 149 was taken out from we tour America over drafting my account. I called them and left a voice mail. The money went back into my account 2 days later. I tried calling to make sure that my information actually be cancelled. No one got back to me. Not even 3 days later 9/24/2013, another 149 was taken out of my account over drafting my account once again. I got paid today 9/25/2013. So that overdraft of the 149 plus the 2 charges within a week of 30 dollars per overdraft took $209 dollars out of my hard earned pay check. It doesn't seem like a whole lot for the people who have money but I don't have a whole lot. I work hard and just purchased and new car. I need this money for payments. Payments I am probably going to be behind on because of their "mistakes". They said they will refund the money today and sorry for that.? How about throwing in the extra $60 I got charged for your "mistake"? I do not believe this company is a scam. I'm sure you give out great trips. To John Humell, it's not us being angry for buyers remorse as you so nicely put it, it's your customer service screwing over the people who simply want a refund. You are again going to lose yet another travel company due to the fact your company just can't get it right. Customer service should be your number one first priority in a "customer service, retail business". This is how you get bad reviews and this is why many people read them, and change their minds. I now have to cancel another credit card and contact my bank. I will not risk my hard earned money, on the comforting word of your staff again( very sarcastically said).

These guys are a scam. They called me after attending a seafood festival in SC...my wife signed me up. Anyway the guy told me I won 4, 3 night trips that could be used anytime in the next 5 years. He mentioned Orlando/Disney but said we could chose from over 30 properties. After agreeing to the purchase they send the documents and the offer was completely different than what was represented on the phone. Based on the paperwork it appeared it was required to go to Orlando and after that trip there were some bonus trips available. Also in the paperwork it stated the trip expired in 18 months and had the 22 locations to chose from. I wasn't comfortable with everything when I agreed but after reviewing he documents it confirmed that I was scammed and the salesperson lied and made many misrepresentations. I immediately called We Tour America and they said the only way to cancel was to print everything out and send it back with "cancel" along with a letter stating why. Of course, the sales guy had told me that I could cancel at anytime but "the only people that ever cancel are folks that run into medical issues", he conveniently left out that they would make it as difficult as possible. I'm curious to see if they accept my letter and refund my money or if this is going to be the beginning of a battle. Based on my experience and others that have posted the company seems to have a culture of telling the "winners" of the drawing anything they can to get the "fee paid so the IRS doesn't tax the winner on the full amount".

I spoke with Tour America yesterday about a vacation that I "won" out of 2500 people that entered. Turns out what I won was actually an "exclusive opportunity to purchase a discounted vacation"--7 days in FL for $498. I spoke with Brian Egan for about 20 minutes, where he explained all about the trip and the fact that I would have to attend a 90-minute presentation about vacation ownership (sounds like a timeshare to me) at each destination. He then went straight to gathering my credit card information. When I finally was able to slow him down, he explained that this "opportunity" was only available right now. "If you went to a car dealership and you won a free Lamborghini, they wouldn't hold it there for free!" was his reply.

Brian then directed me to wetouramerica.com, which my Norton security did not recognize as a legitimate website. He got me to look at all of their documentation that "proves" they are a legit company. He went on and on about an approval code from MasterCard, which would allow me to get a refund if I am not satisfied with the trip information within the first 30 days.

Like a fool, I handed over my credit card information--thinking I would look over the info and most likely get a refund within the 30 days. I was then transferred from Brain Egan to the legal department, where they recorded some other guy reading me all of the fine print. This new guy re-explained the trip to me and the fact that this was not a free trip, but a highly discounted offer. He then wanted my approval to use my MasterCard to reserve the trip, and I asked (to confirm) about the 30 day refund guarantee. The reply I got was something along the lines of:

"TA-GVG does not sell this Vacation Package on a review or cancellation basis. We stand behind our product with a 30-day product guarantee, which guarantees you will receive every thing as stated."

At this point, I decided that it really wasn't worth the risk and asked that my purchase please be cancelled. The legal department handed me back to Brian, who spend another few minutes trying to convince me not to cancel. Once I made it clear that I wasn't taking anymore from him, he rudely responded "Fine, you're cancelled; bye" and hung up instantly.

The whole time I was on the phone, there was a lot of background noise. Most likely it was a large room of people making similar calls to people all over the country. Tour America was a very sketchy company to me--fast talking and very good at skimming over the catch. I am waiting to make sure my credit card charge doesn't go through (it's pending right now) and intend to call my bank if the charge isn't cancelled/refunded within the next week or so.

We Tour America is a huge scam! Look out people! They will force you to buy this package that doesn't even make up for it. I got lucky, I bought the package that night and never recieved an email like they said they would and actully turned my credit card off and notified my bank the next morning! I'm doing lots of investgation on this so I can stop while I can. Just hang up when they call!

OK so I just got off the phone with this company. I politely declined the offer. Now that I read the reviews im glad I did. I feel like a company that has been in business "over 8 years with thousands of satisfied customers" "the good ole word of mouth marketing " I would have hurd about how great they are by now!...but not one person I know, knows... hum? The word of mouth just can't beat the internet. Thanks everyone for your helpful info;)----- kay

HANG UP if you get a call! I was contacted today after attending a Home show last Saturday. The guy called, asked if I was sitting down and said my name was drawn from the entry at the Home show. That I had won out of 600 people. He told me to grab a pen and paper to write down all the details. I had won a package for 2 for a 4 day 3 night trip to Florida staying at the Marriott right by Disney. It included passes to the parks. Then a Caribbean cruise for 4 days and 3 nights with all meals paid. Next I would receive 4 days and 3 nights to Daytona or Florida. I was responsible for a promotional fee of $249 per person due immediately. I had 18 months to take the vacations. I was told all I had to do was pay the $500 and attend a timeshare meeting. He told me I would be put on with an operator and to ask all my questions now because the operator won’t be able to. So I ask what the name was again and when they were expecting payment. He said right now and I will receive a conformation email with all my tickets and so forth. That it would be coming right away. I told him I wanted time to think it over before I made a decision. He asked what was my concern repeatedly? I told him I wanted to check to make sure they are legitimate. He assured me they were and that the Home Show requests for them to come and know the great deals they offered. I told him I wanted a number to contact and he told me there is no number that I had to make a decision now. He kept his cool but kept pressuring me to make a decision and telling me that they give these away for marketing purposes not for my $500. Any company that won’t allow you time to make decisions by giving a phone number to call back, expects your credit card information, expects payment for a free trip or is pressuring you HANG UP. I went online while we were talking and this site as well as others popped up that this was a scam. If you receive a phone call HANG UP and DO NOT give out your credit card information. I know it is hard because you filled out the drawing slip but it is a scam. I called my bank to alert them of the phone call I received and they were aware of the scam.

I filled out a registration form months ago at a boat show... Started getting the telemarketing calls once a night...wasnt interested...called the number posted here and told them that they can keep their vacation package and remove my name from their call list. Haven't had a call since.
