I got scammed $800 by this company
I got scammed $800 by this company. I called the company thinking it was Alaska airlines (google pop up), the agent answered the phone with just his name and where he was located (similar to Alaska), then asked for my ID, password and CC # and proceeded to purchase 2 tickets as "me". Only after he sent me an email and asked me to reply "I agree" to the email did I realize it is a travel agency. He told me they are consolidators for Alaska and worked for the airline. He then asked me to send a picture of my ID. I became uncomfortable and asked to cancel the transaction, which he refused because he said the tickets have already been issued. He was pushing and rushing me to do things my 70-year-old brain cannot process as fast. He told me there will be 2 separate charges, when my credit card sent me an alert for the $800 he charged, he kept pushing me to okay to finish the process. Only afterwards when I reviewed my CC did I know there was a $1499 charge from Alaska, which was what he purchased using my ID and password, pretending to be me, and then $800 charge by an Airlines Reporting Corporation. This company has definitely been scamming people for a while because they know how to cover themselves and how to push seniors to comply.
