Project Makeover Never Pay for Anything

I’ve been playing this game off and on for years, but the last few months I’ve been playing more. I never paid for extra lives because you can just view ads and gain two extra moves and a few other tools to help you finish a level. Did that for years and never bought anything.

One day I decided to buy an extra life, but that was a huge mistake because once you pay for something, the free moves are only provided at the beginning of a level once you watch a few videos as opposed to the end where a few moves could win a level.

I guess they’re here to make money but I’m turned off of the game and will never buy anything else. Had they not made the change odds are I would have spent money hete and there to advance levels. Now, I’ll play every blue moon but eventually lose total interest and find something else

Too bad. It was a cute game and a good concept but I’m not being nickeled and dimed

Project Makeover Hated it at first (this is the only game I’ve reviewed)

I’ve had this game for almost 6 months now. I hated it when I first got it. The advertising was completely misleading. It was advertised as a makeover-only game where you make choices to help the character in her life. When in fact it’s a match game. Fortunately for me, I was a candy crush fiend for a while, but it’s still frustrating when what’s advertised isn’t the actual experience.

But I kept playing, partly because I’m home with two kids all day when I’m used to working (ages 4 and 2) and sometimes I need a break that doesn’t involve nursery rhymes. I loved the makeovers and the match games were tolerable until the level of difficulty just got ridiculous. I mean I wanted to throw my phone ridiculous (again, could’ve been the kiddos). I almost deleted the app, but I read a review that pretty much said keep your focus low on the board. Try to clear the board at the bottom and usually the other goals take care of themselves. It was a good strategy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I still think some levels are just crazy hard, but I can live with it.

I recently almost deleted the app again when I completed the final makeover and while waiting for the developers, I’m asked to play for “stars” instead of being able to build coins. This I thought was insane. The economics made no sense. The match games were already more difficult than other match games I’ve played (and I’m playing for the makeovers, not the match). The coins are really hard to get, but I’ve pushed through to the end and now I can’t even build up my stash. I have to play for a new currency, and I don’t know what it gets me.

But I hung in there. Today I saw that the new makeover was ready. The one star I played for got me quite a few boosters. That was nice, but wasn’t worth me completing more coin-less levels though. But the kicker, 3,500 coins. Now that was kind of you. I’m glad I hung in there.

All of this is to say, the game has its issues (misleading advertising probably being the biggest in my opinion ), but I feel like the team is reading reviews and making adjustments. So, 5 stars.

I’ve never spent a dime on this game by the way. Sometimes it just takes me forever to pass a level. Sometimes I pass by pure luck. I think that’s the nature of the more difficult levels of match games, but you’re able to tolerate that more if you’re expecting a match game.

Project Makeover Crazy impossible levels

I’ve been playing this game for a little while now. Not that long, but enough to understand it clearly. I have been having some problems though and I would like to share it with the developers along with anyone else who would like to see.

What I don’t like: I don’t like the fact that the levels are so hard that it technically brings you to a point where you have to spend your money on “boosters”, which are power ups to help you complete the level easily. That’s unless your lucky enough to own enough boosters to complete a level. It’s still upsetting though. I don’t want it to sound like I’m talking like this: “ugh I can’t complete this level it’s to hard omg I hate this game I’m giving it a bad review.” I just think that the levels could be at least a bit more easier or at least you can give out more coins when completing a level because I’m completely tired of having to play about 3 levels to pay for “lipstick” or a “porch”. I understand that you probably want it to give people a real experience of how expensive things can be and how you need to work to earn that money, but 600 coins for a lipstick? No thank you! You can get lipstick for a dollar at the dollar store. What makes it worse is that the levels are technically impossible and you only get 300 for completing one. You’re probably thinking, “only 2 levels to complete? Wow this person is so dramatic.” But once you actually get to realize that luck is all you need to complete it, try a level with no boosters. Cant pass it huh? Obviously you will need a couple to pass otherwise that’s actually what you call impossible, but you should get my point by now. I don’t have that much of a problem with having to redo a level because I wasn’t lucky enough or I couldn’t match up things correctly, but “constantly” redoing a level to a point where you lose all your lives, you need to use up all your boosters, or maybe you even may need to pay a couple dollars to pass one level in beyond ridiculous.

What I do like: Overall the rest of the game is pretty good. I don’t have much to say about it but basically it’s super fun getting to choose makeup for you customer or even customizing their own room. You just need a lot of money for that by completing the match-3 levels.

This deserves at least 2 starts because I did say a lot about what I didn’t like, but the rest of the game I enjoy and I don’t have any problem with it.

Project Makeover The best and most-used app on my phone!

EDIT: 9/7 Suggestion for the next update: Episode 29: An aspiring actress dreams of seeing herself on the big screen. Give her an award-winning look. Create a studio and movie room that’s perfect for viewing her future films. EDIT: 9/5 Just a feature request! Can you make it so that you can search for a player’s username to friend them? Thanks! This is literally one of the BEST match-3 games I’ve ever played! I love the story, the characters, and all of the great new avatar items! I love all the customization options and creative new guests! At one point, I didn’t like match-3 games. I’d had Matchington Mansion and found it difficult and not very rewarding. However, Project Makeover motivates me to try that level one more time because I’m excited to continue all of my makeovers! Another great aspect of the game is that there are constant events that are geared toward helping you win levels and rewards! I’ve seen quite a few reviews saying that this game is nothing like the ads. Technically, this is true. However, I believe that maybe these people didn’t know that this was a match-3 game? Also, in the ads where it tells you your “Fashion IQ,” some of the clothing items used are actually in the game! I have a few suggestions to improve this app: 1) I don’t want to sound picky, but this is the one big thing for me - I’ve been playing for a long time (almost lvl 300!) and I still don’t have a hairstyle like mine, which is just wavy hair down to my shoulders! However, I’ve noticed that all of the lvl-1000 players on the leaderboard do have these hairstyles. Maybe could you bring it down to lvl 350 or so? 2) Another hair thing - since I started playing, I have unlocked two hairstyles for my female character: “Incognito” and “San Diego.” My male character, however, has unlocked (six!) or more new hairstyles, including: “Desi,” “Velocity,” “Caesar,” “Head Honcho,” “Skipper,” “Artfully Disheveled,” and more! So maybe just even out the male:female hairstyle ratio a bit? 3) This is a simple one: Next to the square with three lines at the bottom are your episodes. Each of these shows a square with the guest’s picture form shoulder up. Maybe after you’ve completed a guest, their picture looks like the completed makeover? I just think that would be a really cool feature to add. 4) I’ve noticed that the levels are very touch sensitive, and sometimes this will cost me winning a level. Please please please try to fix this somehow! 5) Okay this is the weirdest thing… whenever I go to the Carla makeover, if I go to the Salon, select her eye shadow, and then select “Miami Vice,” … I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s like her eyelashes are just white slips? And there’s no way for me to get rid of it except for going into my avatar room and then exiting. What the heck?! I’d send an image if could. Please fix! Thank you for reading all the way through this! I hope I have helped you decide whether to get this app or not!

Project Makeover I like this game but it can be frustrating

Yes I think this game is interesting. You first have the fashion game which you work to dress the person and redecorate their home, then you have the bejeweled type game. The fashion game is kind of ridiculous in that they make you spend so many coins to do some things and some of those things should be combined like instead of wash face and wash arms or like trim beard or trim mustache or clean cob webs and remove wall paper or remove shirt and corset. I mean come on those things should have been combined. Also there should be a way to skip certain things they want you to do. Like if I don’t want to waste the coins on a plant and would rather move past that there should be a way. And some of the bejeweled type game is hard but when you get further along the levels get to be super hard. I’ll spend days trying to bypass a level and when I finally do a get a few easy levels (which allows me to make coins), then another hard or super hard level. They gradually get harder. This is the frustrating part. I first got frustrated at level 30 something and that took me nearly two days to get past. I finally did but I keep getting stuck and now it is taking me days to get past a level, which means no coins to do the fashion part of the game. So I am stuck until I can win another bejeweled type game. When I first wrote this review about a year ago I was at level 186 and been on it for about 4 days or so. I was only on my 4th person to makeover and redecorate for. Now I’m at level 1700 something. Now the levels are getting super hard. The hard levels are still giving me trouble, now you want to make it worse. I have to say this will not bode well for people to continue playing the game. I wish you wouldn’t make them super hard. I think there should be some more relaxed options.

And also You only get three choices for the item you are changing or buying. Like shoes, hair, dresses, etc. you only have like three different hairstyles to choose from. You could also buy with real money more coins or something but it’s a waste as everything costs so much coins and again you can’t choose to opt out of a item.

I would like a relaxed mode so I can play for the fun of it and to redecorate or makeover a person without spending so much time on the bejeweled type game. Oh did I mention that the bejeweled type game constantly adds another icon or game mode and I always seem to be one move away from completing the level when I am out of moves. I can spend 300 gems for 5 more moves but why can’t I choose to spend less gems and do two moves. That way it doesn’t feel like such a waste. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!

I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and I’m up to level 1700 something. So I really do like the game. But you just added in the super hard levels. If it takes me more than several days I believe I will get too frustrated to play the game any more. Especially since it takes days of playing and leveling up to get the extra gems to give me five more moves.

Project Makeover Better than I expected but lots of cons

(Skip to the bottom for a quick TLDR pros and cons list below)
This is my first time writing a review for any app, but I’m doing it because I have strong mixed feelings about it, and I hope the developers can consider what I have to say.
When I first downloaded this, I expected it to be a poorly made game with lots of ads that I would quickly delete. Instead, this game has a storyline, smooth gameplay, nice graphics, no ads, and just overall is well made. I really like how this game has makeup/hair, clothing, and room design all in one, and how you are motivated to play the puzzles in order to complete tasks. Choosing how to design the room is especially fun for me. However, (as many other reviewers have said) it costs an unreasonable number of in-game currency (coins) to do each task (especially compared to how many you gain from each puzzle level). It’s also extremely frustrating how difficult some of the puzzle levels are. I am currently on level 164, and some of the levels feel impossible to complete without using a booster or paying gems to get more moves. For some of them, it really purely depends on how lucky you get because it’s basically impossible to complete with the number of moves you are given. I SINCERELY suggest either increasing the amount of coins gained from each puzzle level or allowing more moves per puzzle level.*** I would personally prefer if the developers allowed more moves for each puzzle level. A few levels have taken me probably 30 or more tries to complete, and you only ever have 5 tries maximum (and then you have to wait for you lives to fill up again). So again, I really really think you developers should consider allowing more moves for each puzzle level, especially the harder ones. It would make the game significantly more enjoyable and less annoying.

TLDR:

Pros:
- Smooth game play
- Nice graphics
- No ads
- Storyline
- Feels well made
- Makeup/hair, clothing, and home design all in one
- Puzzle game is fun and engaging
- Satisfying to see transformations

Cons:
- Costs way too many coins per task you need to complete (I believe my most expensive task so far was 1100 coins)
- Only gain 300 coins per puzzle level
- Some harder puzzle levels feel impossible to complete without using boosters or paying gems
- Extremely frustrating and annoying how many attempts it has taken me to complete some levels (and then after finally completing it, I only get 300 coins as reward)
- Some of the “Drama” episodes are kind of weird and don’t make sense, but this is minute

Conclusion:
I really like what this game offers. My main complain, though, is how difficult some of the puzzle levels are (how little moves you get) and the amount of coins you gain from each level. It just feels like the levels can be way too hard for way too little reward. If the developers ever see this, please please consider my suggestion to increase the amount of moves allowed per puzzle level. It really will make the game better and more enjoyable.

Project Makeover Total money pit

TLDR; don’t bother with this game, it’s sole purpose is to prey on children and bored elderly people for in game purchases.

I got this game a few weeks ago because I love bejeweled-type games and makeovers are always a great time in my book. However after playing for a while (completed 3 makeovers and reached level 119) I’ve decided to uninstall the game.

Pros: game is adorable and well made, overall idea is solid, story is cute. Levels get more difficult as you progress. These pros were worth the two stars I gave.

Cons: this game is practically unplayable without in-game-purchases for lives, boosters, etc. I’ve never played a game of this genre that is so extremely desperate for you to make in-game-purchases.

The boosters s u c k. If you combine a rainbow booster with a rocket (for example) it places a bunch of rockets on the board and they fire off. Sounds great, except each tile on the board can only be hit one time per turn. You’ll probably still lose the level. It is so stupid.

Gems are such a rip off. 300 gems for 5 turns to attempt to finish a level? You only get 300 for finishing a makeover (which takes FOREVER and many many levels). You have to purchase gems to really progress in this game. Some of the levels are deliberately set up so that there aren’t enough turns to finish (unless you get lucky). I’ve been trying to finish level 119 for a week now so I can remove a pair of boots. In addition, the devs sure love to make it so that you can’t exit out of or restart a level without popups reminding you that you’re quitting the level and that you should buy gems to get extra turns or boosters!

Game is not balanced at all. 300 coins is the most common cost I’ve seen for a task and it is used for EVERYTHING. Remove shoes? 300 coins. Remove necklace? 300 coins. Take down hair? 300 coins? Every little thing requires coins, and sometimes you have to complete 3-4 levels to have enough to do one task (and need I remind you, the levels can take DAYS to finish). As the levels get more difficult, you don’t earn more coins for completing levels. This really needs a fix (but I doubt it will happen, I’ve seen other reviews describing this issue and the devs have responded that they will consider it... meaning “no”).

The devs do not throw players a bone with in game events that let players earn unlimited lives, boosters, or money. I’ve only noticed a 30 minute unlimited lives booster when the game updates.

I could say more but honestly, I will leave it at this: this game is a waste of time and unless you’ve got money to spare for a multitude of in-game purchases, don’t bother. Get Lily’s Garden, the devs actually care about the experience of the player.

Devs: please make some changes to the game. I understand making mobile games is hard work and costs money, but the way you go about I’m game purchases in this game comes off very exploitative and sinister. This game has great potential and good games can earn money without needing to force player purchases. Best wishes.

Project Makeover Full Game Review

Okay let’s start with the critical reviews, one person said that the game was mean because one of the characters insults your name, 1. The lady insulting your name is Greta Von Deta, terrible name alone and kind of hilarious, 2. She’ll insult the name if you put anything there, you can even put in HER name and she’ll still insult it and 3. This is the antagonist, she’s supposed to be hated and rude, the whole problem is that she’s too rude! Another issue people talk about is how hard the levels get, now I’m not at level 200 or something but the levels seem fine, I’m against paying to win in ANY game so I don’t pay anything and it’s plenty fun, sorry to say but those people simply CANNOT play any games like this, it’s simple prediction and thought out moves. Another issue is the crashing, I’m playing on an iPad and I played on my iPhone 7 and I’ve had no issues with crashing but I’m not saying that’s not an issue. Another complaint is people saying that this game is teaching kids that glasses are ugly, long hair is ugly, you have to dress a certain way to be pretty and that makeup makes you prettier, I understand the concerns but I highly doubt that’s the game’s intent, it’s a makeover which normally consists of restyling hair, putting in makeup and getting into fancy clothes, that’s just the concept, the game does not indicate that she was hideous before or flawless afterwards. That being said I would like the different styled glasses as a choice or different hair options other than the short ones and different clothing options, just to add some variety.

Now that people’s complaints are out of the way I want to complain, 1. Yeah I want more variety please, 2. This isn’t a big deal but it kind of bothers me the game doesn’t show you how many lives you have left after you lose, I’d just like the “play again?” Option with something indicating it’ll take away a life if you choose to restart.

Those are all my complaints now for the bonuses, 1. I like that you get to choose your character’s looks, 2. I like that there’s story to it, and the characters are very unique, my favorite character is the girl who’s Greta’s assistant, I only like her because she’s the most complicated character in the game, she’s in love with Greta, who’s controlling and mean, but that doesn’t phase her, and her love for Greta gets in the way of her own morals. As far as she’s concerned, Greta is all that’s for fighting for. I think they’re a twisted match that has their own way of being a perfect match. Greta’s mean and all about her while her assistant loves that she’s mean and is also all about Greta. 3. The sort of “mini” lessons they throw in to the game, for example, there’s a man named...Timothy, I think, who’s all about putting work first and hardly takes care of himself, and when he starts putting his well being before his work, he’s 10x happier than he was before, also that the real beauty is taking care of yourself, hygiene is important and has a significant effect on how you look, your confidence levels, and how you do simple things.

Anyways that’s all I have for now, thanks for reading all of this, developers, and I look forward to more and more story!

Project Makeover My FAVORITE phone game! Minor issues, sick of jackets

This is my FAVORITE phone game. There’s a lot packed into one little phone game-the matching boards are very unique and fun, the drama stories, and dress up, and being able to dress up your own character. What I love is there’s practically NO ads and it is not pay to play like 90% of games I try to download. I was so impressed when I first started playing this game. You can purchase gems and also can win free gems throughout the game, but the levels are NOT impossible to beat without gems contrary to what others have said. Sometimes you will get a bad board, some levels take 20+ tries, I mean the levels are supposed to get harder or else what’s the point. But they’re beatable. Heck, I’ve used a power up and still lost levels before, and beaten very hard levels without using a single gem. So don’t get frustrated and think you need to spend money on extra gems! I have purchased gems before on occasion-because I enjoy the game and appreciate that I don’t feel forced to do so like in other games-but it’s absolutely in no way necessary like some others have said. Also, here’s a tip! If you add friends, which you can do by visiting other players in your dressing room, you can send them lives for free (it doesn’t take from your lives), and they can send to you! This way if you add a ton of friends you can get a ton of extra lives without having to use your gems. I really love this game, and how much there is to do, like I said it is my FAVORITE phone game, but with that being said I do believe some things could improve: -The NUMBER ONE thing I think that should really change is, if you use a power up, YOU should be able to choose where it starts in the board. The game places it randomly for you. Some of the boards are set up in a specific way where the first move is intended for you to make a bomb or do something in particular. On more than one occasion, the power up I used was randomly placed in the way of where the best first move would be, thus making the level actually harder instead of easier. I think that because we spend gems (and sometimes real money on the gems) to buy powerups, we should be able to place them. -SECOND most important: PLEASE stop requiring every makeover to include a jacket I understand it’s a way to add more to the makeover and spend more coins, but some of the outfits look soooo cute until I have to add a jacket and it totally kills it. Jackets should be optional unless it really goes with the vibe/story, and if it’s about coins, just make us add like a watch/bracelet or socks or something idk, I just hate making cute outfits and having to ruin them with a jacket! -Could use more options for makeovers. Currently you get 3 options for decoration and makeovers per selection, it would be more fun if we could pick between more -Not enough avatar clothes... The mystery boxes are mostly full of jewelry, and new clothes aren’t added to the shop very often at all-maybe every ten levels or something and sometimes as a daily reward. They should add new clothes a little more often, or at least add both a female and male avatar item when they add something (it’s always one or the other). I love changing my avatars outfit often, so I wish there were more options!

Project Makeover Not what I signed up for

1) Blatant bait and switch advertising. The ads make it seem as if you’ll be doing makeovers and picking out fashions. It never said anything about spending 99% of the time doing some match three game. However...

2) I wouldn’t mind having to do the match game if I got to spend more time doing makeovers and making people pretty. But that is not how it is. These people should be able to remove their glasses and clothes and shoes without me having to pay $300 for them to complete each step of the disrobing process. That is just absurd and NOT fun.

3) In the ads I watched, it also never said anything about doing home renovations. By the time you FINALLY spend two thousand dollars for these people to undress and wash their hair so you can begin the makeover, some dude is dragging you away wanting you to spend thousands more to remove debris and clear tables and all manner of nonsense that the ads said nothing about. And you can’t just IGNORE the dude and go back to the makeover. No. There is no option to skip the parts you aren’t interested in. It’s annoying enough to have to play tons of match games in order to afford to have the person remove their clothes and bathe. It’s even MORE annoying to have to play it in order to complete tasks you don’t care about and have no interest in doing. (And I swear the guy is relentless and just invents unnecessary tasks to waste your money. Some of them you don’t even get to choose. He just does it and you’re stuck with what whatever he chooses.)

4) During the 1% of the time you actually DO get to do the personal makeover and pick out fashions, the choices are extremely limited. It’s not like you get to pick a “type” of look and explore options to create it. No. They give you three options for each step—hair, shirts, bottoms, shoes—and you’re stuck with those. And some of the clothing options are pretty heinous and offend my fashion consciousness, so it doesn’t even gratify you that much when you finally get finished. Ugh.

(On another note, I don’t get the people who are offended about removing glasses and adding make up. Um... it’s a MAKEOVER game. At least, it was advertised as such. Developers, if you feel the need to yield to the complainers, at least retain the OPTION to replace glasses with contacts. As a contact wearer, I will pick that option every time.)

5) Despite these annoyances, I played this game and it wasn’t bad at first. They were having some event and I got a couple hearts giving me time to play the match game without using lives, and that was good for a mindless, relaxing couple hours. However. Now I’ve reached level 329. They’ve stopped doling out free time to me, and the levels are no longer a fun, relaxing, mindless way to pass the time. It’s more like a pointless endeavor because the levels are extremely difficult to complete in the allotted number of moves. Now. If the puzzle game were the reason I had downloaded the game, that might not be a problem. That would imply I WANTED to spend my time doing these challenging puzzles. But the fact is, I downloaded the game because I wanted to do makeovers. Instead, I open this app and use all my lives trying to pass a level, have nothing to show for it, and can progress no further in the makeover. Which again, is decidedly NOT fun.

I have no problem donking off money on stupid games. I routinely wager far more in one hand at local poker games. So spending money on entertainment is sort of what I do. However. What I do have a problem with is spending money to do something I don’t want to do. I’m not spending money to do this stupid match game. If it was a premium subscription to do makeovers, then yeah, count me in. As it is, however, that’s SO not what this is.

Yawn. So whatever. I’m over it.

Project Makeover Do not buy the game

The game is not for playing or casual fun. It is a money making scheme aimed at young adults. The game will start out easy enough, yet by the 3rd it will force you to use all your free help via tutorials. After which the game quickly fast tracks your progress till level 24. It is at that point the game becomes almost impossible to play. Not because it’s difficult, but because the developers have rigged the puzzles, that you gain in game money from, to be impossible to beat within the allotted time and moves. You will have several rows of glasses and shirts that can only be cleared with special moves. The shirts alone require two moves to remove. Next the specials are VERY limited. Unlike other puzzle games (I don’t need to mention them) the specials do little in the way of clearing out the shirts or glasses. The super moves are very hard to come by. All this needs to be done with 23 moves or less in most instances, which as many have said is impossible without buying specials or time with real money. Next is the actual level. I am not even sure that the situations they advertise are even in the game. Up at least till level 24 you are STILL working on the same client. Not only that, EVERYTHING you do with the client costs money.. and lots of it, which acutely seems ridiculous given basic hygiene such as brushing teeth or a bar should be at least affordable. Last, it is not a true makeover game. There is no freedom to pick and chose what you want in the game. The game TELLS you what to do and gives you 3 versions of said item. Of course if there is a basic version or lux you will never know due to e everything being the same price and over hyped. There are much better games out there that are not out to make you open your wallet every 15 seconds.

Project Makeover Ehhhh

First of all, this game is more of a match 3 puzzle and design game than a makeover game. While the puzzles are fun, they’re clearly geared towards getting the player to spend virtual and real money, and the pace of the makeover/design part of the game is too slow. The puzzles can be quite boring and sometimes seem like they were made just to waste in-game resources. I understand the app is free, but it’s not as engaging as other free apps and feels harder to progress in than some other apps with the option to pay for power ups and lives, and the payment options seem like a bad value. Better rewards for harder levels, more lives, more frequent access to power ups, less tedious steps of the makeover, or any other number of changes would improve that a lot and make me play more. As for my personal opinions, I wish that the clients with curly hair had more curly hairstyles available in the makeover options, because it feels weird to “beautify” people by straightening their hair. Sure, some people might choose a straight hairstyle in a makeover, but why aren’t there more options for pretty curly styles? I’d like more curly hair avatar options too, though I appreciate the ones that are there. The plot in the dramas section of the game is goofy, so I’m not taking this too seriously, but it’s kind of weird to treat it like an embarrassing thing to use a cane at a young age, and that joke would be super alienating to a lot of very cool and fashionable people I know who use mobility devices to get around. I don’t know what the intentions were, it just didn’t land quite right for me. Neither did some other storylines that felt ill-conceived and stereotypical. It’s kind of annoying how the game logo animation plays every time I click something. For these reasons, my current rating isn’t higher (I’m currently a bit past level 100 and not sure how much longer I’ll keep playing). Thanks for reading!

Project Makeover Not what I expected

So I keep seeing ads for this game in Facebook, the game is nothing like the ads. But when I started playing it was still a makeover game and at first I actually liked it better than the ads. So that was fine. Albeit the ads are still deceitful and do not depict actual gameplay.

More importantly, it’s a weird candy crush rip off. If I wanted to play candy crush I would’ve just downloaded that... I want to do makeovers. But you literally cannot do the makeovers without playing the mini game to earn tokens. The makeover is broken up into very small pieces. For instance I had to do a face mask as part of the makeover. I had to “pay” in game tokens to put on the face mask, then I had to pay again just to take the face mask off... how ridiculous. The majority of these small pieces of the makeover cannot even be paid for by playing one round of the mini game. Which again is a candy crush rip off. Every round you play gives you 300 tokens meanwhile it costs 900 tokens to replace the roof on the house of the person receiving the makeover. So I have to play this mini game sooo much more than I actually get to enjoy doing the makeovers. You seriously have to spend hours playing this candy crush like mini game in order to get a new outfit for the character you’re making over. It’s getting really lame and not fun as things progressively get more expensive and the mini game gets harder and harder. It’s just not fun or worth it anymore. Like I said I didn’t want to play candy crush... but I have to beat 3 levels of it in order to pay for one small portion of the makeover (the roof). It’s just not cool. But that’s how they want to try to make money. You only get 5 lives and you cannot proceed with the makeovers unless you beat the little candy crush rip off levels. You can buy more lives and power ups to beat them though. But you shouldn’t have to, as I downloaded a makeover game not a candy crush game. Really not cool. I’m done with it.

Project Makeover Cute game, BUT…

I like the game, it’s cute and can be fun to play. I like the fact that it gives you make and female subjects to work with, the choices are fun and it can be enjoyable.

Now, onto the problems…

First, I don’t mind buying in game currency &/or boosts to use in games, I’ve done it with other games and for this one. My issue here? I noticed after I got past a certain level, it didn’t matter how perfectly I played, if I used boosts I had saved or bought, if I used gems for extra lives…it didn’t matter. I’d lose and be prompted to “buy more gems!” to continue gameplay. A few times I did, once to buy gems for extra moves and STILL LOSE. They have it set to where you’re always 1 move away from winning so you have to keep pouring money into the game or start over.

I was angry at this point, I’d been stuck on a level for weeks, so I quit playing for over a month. Came back and was given extras of some items to get me to start playing again. I did. But I still ran into the same problem, levels where it didn’t matter how well you played, you’d always have 1 block left, even after using gems to get 5 extra moves. So I rage quit for a week& came back, bought some gems and finished my current makeover. Started a new one & a few stages in, HERE I AM AGAIN, caught where even if I play like I’m King F-ing Midas with the Golden touch, it doesn’t matter, I’ll get 5 extra moves and still have ONE BLOCK TO CLEAR! So it’s, start over or *bUy MoRe GeMsto get extra moves or boosts! You do that, only to get 5 more moves and 50% of the time you’ll need to buy 5 more extra moves…which means buy more gems. I’ve been stuck on the same level for months and I’m not spending more money in a game where I feel like it’s impossible to win 60% of the time without throwing in my hard earned cash.

I don’t mind buying in game stuff, just not as regularly as THIS GAME seems to require. So I’m posting a review and deleting. It was fun, but not fun enough for me to keep playing.

Project Makeover Out for your money

What a shame. I actually really enjoy the concept of this game, but the game is coded in a way that it’s impossible to beat without spending money. I have been playing several games for the last 5-7 years that are similar to this (without the makeover portion) and this game is unrealistic in the expectations set forth. For the makeover portion, it has required steps you MUST take (like paying to remove the clothes, piece by piece, just to apply new ones) and it makes you complete all the steps to remodel the home/workshop for each makeover before you can even makeover the individual and I say makeover loosely, you pay a large amount of coins to remove and replace each item, not allowing you to get too far.

My biggest complaint, in addition to the above is every game has a “continue” option, for example you play a level but don’t beat it, so it gives you the option to “pay coins/gemsfor 5 more moves”, and that amount is always the same, each time you continue the 5’moves, this game doubles the price, I.e 5 more moves for 200 gems, if you still don’t beat the level, you can add 5 more moves for 400 and then 5 more for 600...? Why isn’t it 200 for each 5 moves? That’s insane. If you want people to play and enjoy the experience, stop giving your play 12 moves to remove 40 shirts, 8 sunglasses and 12 carpet in one level. That unachievable, go learn a thing or two from Frozen Free Fall which I have been playing for 7 years. I literally paid $6.48 for 900 gems ( completely my choice) and then $4.99 for 1500 gems and still couldn’t beat your level because each move doubles my price. I haven’t ever spent $11 in one day for any game, not even in a month (just to prove my theory mind you)I am truly disappointed in the way this game is written. Also, make items optional in the makeover, I don’t want to “have to” purchase plants and wall art to move forward, but you must complete every single step created to take all your coins and gems so you can’t proceed very far. It would be a pretty great game if you could sort these things out.

Project Makeover Pay to Win. Had promise, but there are other games

There are so many other games like this on the market, and those seem to do a better job of making it so that you actually have a chance at winning. A few of those games, I am upwards of 3000 levels. This one however, it seems like every single level, minus one or two, no joke, is made with an algorithm that gets you within 1 to 3 moves of winning so that it can prompt you to spend your gems, and all of your boosters, so he can start asking for real money in order to beat the levels. There was one point when I used every single booster available to me, and I still did not win the level. I literally did that to test it, because in most every other game like this on the market that’s the way to force through a difficult level. But almost every level I in this seems as if it needs boosters of some kind, and then it dangles a mystery box in your face to create FOMO. As someone who actually pays to play certain games when they’re worth it, I was going to do that. And then I saw that just about every single level requires you to use boosters or add on more turns. So, I am generally more than willing to handover money for boosters in a game that at least makes me feel like I don’t always need them, but this game feels like you almost always need them.

Add to this that the levels become impossible unless you pay money AND the “rules” or mechanics seem to change to intentionally keep you from winning. I had a level where a rocket removed a whole row of dresses, then another level, same exact setup. Removed one. And after rechecking on another account, it is doing that. Bonuses are stifled so you can’t get streaks, and it often “misunderstands” a move in order to throw you off. For instance, I moved a bomb and it shifted it literally the opposite direction. On the pst move. That would have won the level. And this happens often enough even with me testing for accuracy and user error that I can’t reasonably assume it’s not a glitch on their end.

Simply put: they want your money, and they will squeeze it out of you while pretending to care that you feel cheated.

Project Makeover Customer Service

I want to start off by saying I really like playing this game. It’s challenging as a puzzle game and does keep my attention. However, with that said I’ve been playing this game for a while so I know how it works after each level that you complete you get a letter which you receive 300 coins. Sometimes this may take a couple hours or day, but you get it immediately. As of lately I have to continue to contact customer service and let them know. Hey, I didn’t receive my coins at first it wasn’t a problem they would ask for a screenshot immediately they would be dispensed. And also on the side, there are additional challenges where you are rewarded coins time, cash, Jules, scissors brushes, and the perfume bottle so I was continues to reach out to customer service and let them know I’m not getting my letters but now it is days at a time if not a week at one time. They asked for the screenshot I sent it. Just began to change perhaps the last three challenges every time that I let them know as I had before. I review about bonus and it was 30 minutes of infinite lives 300 coins and 1200 cash. At first I let it go, but I was like perhaps I just changing how they’re doing the game and update. Now it begins to happen. Every time I went to level I never received a letter and representatives continue to tell me that I had received 30 minutes of infinite coins and cash. But guess what when you receive the letter it shows you the coins there and they have clean. This was never on the current level. I’m on that the rep continue to tell me that I received in its place 30 minutes of infinite lives, coins, cash, etc.. this is early in the morning the same day the very level that I completed and was told I was given the reveal bonus and I’m stating it’s the letter I’m talking about I miraculously get a letter so I reached back out to customer service because now this is contradicting what you’re telling me you’re telling me that I received the 30 minutes XYZ but yet I gotta let her now and 300 coins but you just told me I was gonna that I received received the coins cash and time instead? Screenshots were sent back to there rep

Project Makeover Cute, But Probably Not Worth Your Time

Alright, so, I slogged all the way through to level 94 to give this game as fair a review as I could and... meh? It’s obvious from the first moment that the game given to us by this app is NOT the game being played in it’s own advertisements, which is pretty frustrating in its own right, and should tell you a little bit about the care and quality put into this game; which is to say, deceptively little. I say ‘deceptively’ because from the outset, everything appears nice, until you start actually trying to progress. The makeover aspect is fun enough for about the first 40 levels, then quickly becomes tedious as tasks are broken down into increasingly more banal and minuscule steps that progressing becomes an absolute chore, increasing in cost with each task, amounting to thousands of coins, which is the equivalent of tens upon tens of wins in the matching game. Boosts are given freely once, then it’s luck of the draw if you get one or two in your daily gift, and cost 400 gems each to purchase. If you fail a level, it costs 300 gems for five extra moves, and refilling your life bar to get more plays costs 200 each. The matching game is where this app really tanks, it’s generic and boring, the same interface as every other game of this type, with the added twist of seemingly inflated difficulty. The levels become cramped and stressful, as the game attempts to ramp up difficulty by giving you multiple item goals to reach, and giving you about half of the number of moves you’d need to actually complete them. They are not puzzle levels, there’s very little skill involved, and it all comes down to how lucky you are. If you look critically, it’s clear they’ve done this to pad for content, as well as to try to twist your wrist into giving them your money for an experience they clearly didn’t curate for longer than 10 minutes. Don’t give these developers your money; they have not earned it, and the benefits in-game for doing so are minimal, considering you could buy hundreds of boosts and gems and still fail a level based on sheer dumb luck. So, play this casually, if you like- do some makeovers, watch the ‘animated’ content, get frustrated when you lose the same level 10+ times, slowly work your way through- or give this one a pass. There are other, similar, better games to waste your money and time on.
