I had a bad experiance with the Sila guy who came to our house to give us an estimate for our HVAC. I had drawings and was really organized to explain what we wanted, but he kept asking me how I heard about them and stuff like that. He didn't seem to understand what I was asking for and I had to explain it a bunch of times. After like 10 minutes, I just gave up and went with someone else.

I had SILA install my mini-splits back in 2011. But come early June, they stopped working. Luckily, I was able to schedule a visit from a technician right away (June 2, 2022). During that visit, the technician told me that the compressor was busted. But since then, I've called three times to follow up and still haven't received any written quotes for repair or replacement costs. I don't want to spend $150 just to be told that my system is broken.

Our A/C stopped working and the first company we called said it was kaput. They suggested we replace the whole thing, but we weren't sure. So we called Sila Heating, Cooling & Plumbing for a second opinion. Anthony came out and even though it was raining, he got to work. He found a burnt wire in the conduit and rewired it. He tested it and voila! The A/C was working again! And it didn't cost an arm and a leg either. Highly recommend Sila!

Been using them for the last 3 years - consistently excellent, timely, and affordable service. Bob was here earlier today to handle our seasonal AC tuneup; he did a great job, flagged some options that could improve house comfort and air quality, and even pointed out that our dryer vent needed cleaning. Strongly recommend them!

Marcus came to do a seasonal check on our air conditioning system. With the current virus issues, we were concerned about having someone enter our house, but he had the full complement of gloves, mask, booties to cover shoes, etc., doing the best possible to keep things safe. He did a great job checking things thoroughly, and it was actually good to have a quick laugh with someone in person during this crazy time.

I had a very positive experience with the service call. My AC unit shut down mysteriously the previous day and then came back on after about 30 minutes of down time. I called to have the unit checked out to be sure there was no damage (or impending issues). The tech (Marcus) spent nearly an hour checking over the wiring, system and circuitry inside and out and couldn't find anything wrong. Recommendations were made to assist in diagnosing issues should something else occur. The explanation was that the system has a delay built in to prevent damage on too quick a restart. There was no attempt at an up-sell or effort to establish an ongoing service contract. Fair, honest service at the agreed upon price.

My AC was broke on 5/21. We called Sila on 5/21 and they came out on 5/22 (Sunday). This was nice. They looked at the system and said the outdoor unit's condenser coils were dirty and needed to be cleaned. We cleaned them and the unit still did not work. They came out that next week after a few calls on Thursday. They said the system had lost coolant and added some. The system was working. They suggested a leak test to find where the coolant went. I had questions on why they had not checked the pressures the first time (since we had 4 days of heat to get them back out). Given it was working we were happy, but they recommended the leak test and came out on Saturday to do it. They said it would come to $575. They did the test and did not find a leak. After the test they informed us that we would now have to pay an additional more than $1200 (on top of the $575) to replace the coolant because it was part of the leak test. This was NOT mentioned before as a required step to return the system to functioning. They did identify a part that they recommended to replace. They said they could return Monday to change the part and replace the coolant. I did not hear from them on Monday. I called on Tuesday morning and they acknowledged the replacement part and were going to call back in 15 to 20 minutes at 7:45AM after contacting the manufacturer. It is now 3 days later, and I have called to request a call back more than 5 times and have heard nothing. We have been sweating in some of the hottest days of the year and they left the system inoperable. I have had to call a new company who is charging $2200 to get the system back in working order. This is beyond frustrating.
