Service on Volkswagen 2020 Tiguan
On the approximate date and time of 7/18/2023 a t13:30 I brought my vehicle to Gossett Volkswagen, located at 1875 Covington Pike Memphis TN 38128, for service. The day before, 7/17/2023 the sunroof instrument panel, became unattached and was hanging down. I was informed by the service advisor, Mr. William Reeves that the warranty/tech department refused to cover the repairs through the warranty because they assumed that I caused the damage to the panel, by my negligence. This is unacceptable. Why would I damage my own vehicle which is fairly still new?
Desired outcome: I want a refund of the costs for the repairs.
Service and electronics
I recently took my 2020 Passat (with less than 12000 miles) in to have the emission recall performed as well as my one armor service. In addition I have had a recurring problem with the main screen (backup camera, sound, etc.) not coming on when it's hot. This problem was seen initially a year ago and the system was replaced. It began to have the same issue in late April and has repeated three times with no rhyme or reason as to when it will occur. From the low 80's to our current 100's in terms of air temp. The issue is strictly random. In addition the driver assist warning comes on randomly when I drive on long straight roads with no need to be turning the steering wheel.
My appointment was for June 5th at which time I dropped the car off. Several days later I received a text stating that the car would be definitely looked at on Monday the 12th. ? What were they doing for a week.
On Wednesday the 14th I received a text stating that the car was ready. After 10 days the emission software was upgraded and the One Armor service was complete. I was told they couldn't duplicate the issue with the main console or the steering assist so per VW orders nothing was done.
During this time I received several calls from a VW national CS rep. she said she would call back when service was complete. I also received a text from Ken Garff VW hoping I was satisfied with service and that CS questionaires would be forthcoming from both Ken Garff and VW national. I responded that I was not satisfied and would state so on both. Since that response I haven't received the surveys of satisfaction nor has the rep called. It seems that VW doesn't wish to discuss the inherent problems with the electronics.
I would appreciate a follow up in regard to this matter at 330-962-8291by someone who has the authority to correct these issues
Desired outcome: Initiate VW buyback of the vehicle due to repeat malfunctions
Design
Dear Full Swagging Team,
I trust this message finds you well. I have been a long-standing admirer of your exceptional designs in the automobile industry, particularly your innovative takes on classic designs. Today, however, I'm writing to discuss my thoughts and constructive feedback on the new design for the VW Class.
While the latest VW Class iteration is sleek and modern, it arguably veers away from the iconic aesthetic that many Volkswagen enthusiasts, including myself, have come to appreciate and love over the years.
In my humble opinion, there are three key elements of the original VW Bus design that could have been preserved to maintain the vehicle's unique personality:
Round Headlights: The round headlights have been a quintessential part of the VW bus design, infusing a distinct charm that harks back to the vehicle's roots. This design aspect helps the VW bus stand out amongst the sharp angles and straight lines of most modern vehicle designs, offering a refreshing alternative.
Mirror Design: The classic design of the VW Bus mirrors is another indispensable feature that should've been preserved. Their unique shape, coupled with their practical positioning, is a visual and functional reminder of the VW bus's legendary status in automotive history.
Flat Nose: Lastly, the flat nose of the original design provided an unmistakable silhouette that was instantly recognizable, even from a distance. It also encapsulated the compact, yet spacious spirit of the VW bus, which has become synonymous with road trips and adventures.
Incorporating these elements into the new design could have helped to create a seamless blend of old and new, reinforcing the VW Bus's heritage while embracing the needs of the contemporary driver.
I hope you take this feedback in the constructive spirit it is intended. I understand that design is subjective and diverse perspectives contribute to its evolution. However, staying true to the design ethos that made the VW Bus an icon could further resonate with its core fans while appealing to new admirers.
I look forward to seeing how you continue to blend tradition with innovation in your future designs. Thank you for your commitment to crafting vehicles that are not just modes of transportation but embodiments of lifestyle and culture.
Kind Regards,
Adin Baban

Volkswagen Service
I have been a loyal Volkswagen customer for almost 30 years. However, I am incredibly frustrated with the service I have received recently. My car has been in service for almost two weeks now and the service department has been waiting for a part. While I understand that parts can take time to arrive, I am disappointed that they do not know when the part will be delivered. As a result, I am stuck renting cars which will cost twice what the repair is. I feel like I have no choice but to buy a new car. Although I love Volkswagen cars and would like to buy another one, I am now considering other companies. This experience has left me incredibly disappointed given my loyalty to Volkswagen.
Desired outcome: I would like to know exactly when my car will be fixed.
2017 Volkswagen Jetta
DO NOT PURCHASE A VW!
Customer service is terrible. 5 year old vehicle with 50K miles, water pump, A/C and transmission have already failed. Volkswagen corporate and dealership have been of no help and unfortunately do not care. I'm now left with a vehicle that is worth less than is owed due to being told it needs a new transmission, conveniently right as the warranty expired. Based on my experience I would urge you to not make the same mistake I did in purchasing a VW. The quality is terrible, unreliable and customer service needs major improvement. I will never purchase another VW and I will inform others of my experience.
Desired outcome: Cover The Cost To Replace Transmission
Product failure
Want to trade in my wife's 2017 Escape for 2023 Tiguan. Research & test drive were compelling! Found the exact suv at my dealer with all the right equipment on a SE fwd. After the test drive, I was ready to buy it for her. She was only disappoint that it had no cd player. used it on her Ford all the time. But the game changer was the tail gate. She is 5'5" tall and could not reach the lift handle on the open tail gate handle. More importantly, on the Tiguan the door is so heavy that she did not have the strength to pull it down. We had to sadly walk away from the purchase. Your Engineers and Marketing people are asleep at their jobs! Customer satisfaction is a key component to business success.

Desired outcome: Keep looking for another suv.

2 cars/same problem
Bought a 2009 Tiguan Volkswagen and before I got it completely paid off, the timing belt broke which cost me $4,000 to fix.
And like a big dummy went out and got another Volkswagen Tiguan 2017. At around 63,000 miles, the EXACT same thing (Timing belt) messed up again, which the engine shuts off and you CANNOT drive it. Had it towed back to the dealership, and they are saying it’s $6,000 to fix this time. Now I’m behind on my payments, my Tiguan is still at the dealership (I do not have an extra $6,000 to get it fixed) had to buy a clunker car to get me back and forth to work. I’m beyond upset, the same thing happening to the 2nd. Volkswagen. I will never buy another Volkswagen. And want the Volkswagen car company in general to fix or buy my car back. It has to be their fault, 2nd. Tiguan same problem. Come on now. Thank you for your time and your help.
Desired outcome: Fix or buy my Tiguan from me
VW Taigo
I purchased demo model (VW Taigo) in November 2022. In December I was on holiday travelling from Gauteng to Durban and I suddenly heard a loud burst like a gunshot and the car became very noisy. When we pulled off to the side of the road to investigate and noticed that the sunroof had burst. I have been in contact with the dealership regarding the incident because clearly there is a fault with the vehicle as there was no external damage that caused the sunroof to burst. They have advised that this is a warranty claim and it will be investigated. The collected the vehicle to investigate on the 27th January 2023 and to date the vehicle has not been repaired nor can they tell me if the vehicle will be repaired or not. Today is the 24th February.
Desired outcome: i want them to take back the vehicle as im paying for something that is not even in my possession. I also do not want a vehicle that has a factory fault as i have no guarantee that it will happen again.
I turned my acura to them when I bought my vw tigun I had 3 months left to pay. I got my vw july 2019 my acura was not paid and I have bad credit
I had a acura I turned in to vw and leased a vw tigun. I had 3 months left on my lease with acure. Vw said they would pay my payoff for the rest. I got letters from acura 60 days out for non payment. I called George the finace man at Teddy vw in the bronx he assured me it was paid. In Jan I got another letter form acura. I called and got both people on the phone acura and vw and George sent my payments in Feb. I went to get a loan for my home and y credit score went down due to vw not properly doing their job. I contacted the credit bureau and they said there is nothing they can do
Desired outcome: My credit fixed and be compensation
Trailer hitch for ID4
We wanted to out a tow hitch on our car so we can transport bicycles. Not the rooftop carrier, which would not work for EV bikes that are heavy and we cannot lift them up to the roof.
We asked the dealer prior to purchasing the vehicle if they could install a trailer hitch. They said no. We had one installed on our previous ID4 by a reputable hitch installer but they would not install the wiring, saying the dealer had to do it. Well, the dealer said no, they could not do it. Said it had to come installed from the factory that way.
No explanation. We now have a 2022 ID4 and want to do the same, but need information regarding the wiring.
Desired outcome: Provide the information requested or refer us to a dealer that can install the wiring harness needed for towing.
VW T-Cross Speakers
I purchased a Brand new VW T-Cross from VW in Centurion (Pretoria) in July 2022, about a month later, My wife noticed that the front tweeters were distorting and we took the car back to VW, we were then informed that they could not find the issue.
another month went past and the problem persisted, We took the vehicle back again and i played the music from my phone (not at full volume) and the technician heard the cracking of the tweeters, That afternoon we were informed that the problem was not resolved.
I took the car back again about a month ago and took my wife with, we asked the services manager to come with us to the vehicle to hear the noise that a brand new VW makes when you play music. He heard it and confirmed that the tweeters were making a noise, now i get a call from VW Centurion stating that its a characteristic of the vehicle. "We are unable to escalate the "fault" because it is not a fault but the characteristics/DNA of the vehicle"
do you mean to tell me that VW intentional puts in sub par quality speakers?
This is a brand new vehicle and all i want is the quality that VW promises.
Desired outcome: Replacement of factory fitted tweeters that are distorting
14 Days and no response... what a joke
Another 24 hours later... this is a joke.
VW has no time for their clients.
does the face that you have defective components in your brand new vehicles not bother you?
And another day with NO response
From the 4th, No response... Does VW take this seriously?
Exchange of spare part of my vento car.
Dear Sir,
I am having a Vento car 2011 model and regn. No. UP16CE4739. The lower front grill was found missing of my car. Hence, I approached Volkswagen service centre (Frontier Auto world Pvt Ltd) at Indl. Estate, Mathura road, Delhi today i.e. on 30.12.2022 for procurement of the grill.
But inadvertently, upper grill (show grill) has been delivered to me in place of lower grill.
I again approached the service centre to exchange the grill and provide me the correct grill. Moreover, I visited the service centre after due confirmation on phone. But inspite of my repeated request, the spare part incharge and GM (Mr. Ajay) did not exchange the grill and conveyed that they don’t have lower grill.
I am Volkswagen customer since 2011 and never expected such behaviour from your esteemed company.Invoice no. of the grill supplied is PSIPA2200393 dated 30.12.2022 of Rs. 3653.00.
You are requested to get the supplied grill exchanged with the correct grill and advise the concerned for the same.
Regards.

2012 tiguan s/fwd: short shifting in auto transmission
Transmission shifts up too soon, lugging the engine, making a groaning rumble sound. Seems to have been designed this way, to improve fuel economy, but is nevertheless unpleasant and disconcerting to hear.
Is there a software reprogram to change this?
Thank you.
VIN - WVGAV7AX9CW544469
Desired outcome: Suggestion to 'fix' this issue, perhaps a software 'upgrade' to change the shift pattern.Want to eliminate this current shift pattern.
Car that needed to be repaired, put customer in a even worse situation
Good day,
I have previsouly sent a mail in regards to my VW Scirroco which I sent to the VW dealership in Mosselbay.
The timing chain broke and I was informed that the car was to be stripped to check for further damages in the engine. After receiving feedback, I informed the dealership that I would be finding my own mechanic to do the repairs as I couldn't afford the dealships qoute.
I paid a little more than R10 000 to the dealership. This was only for the labor of stripping the car. Then I also had to make sure that I arranged for the car to be moved from the floor to avoid storage fees.
Please see attached pictures of how the car was given to me. I don't know if I'm being the wrong one in this instance, but this is really just such bad service. No mechanic wants to work on a car that has already been stripped to this extent. And it would cost me more money if I had asked the dealership to put the car back together.
Im going to report VW and the dealership on all social media platforms and post these pictures. Whether or not you think that this is standard procedure to how you deal with cars being stripped. Or if this is how you deal with your clients. I just honestly don't have anything more to say.
Im not trying to be difficult. But as a client I feel let down and also feel like its a problem when I complain.

I'm having problem with one of your dealership in Cnr Russel &,Cachet Rd,Airport Park, Germiston, 1401 where they put false advertisement about 2016 Volkswagen(vw) Amarok 2.0 Bi-TDi(132 KW) Double cab Highline 4motion for sale in Gauteng R319 995 with finance of R 5,888 pm for 72 months. Antwerpen Pasadena
Hello my name is Shanee Silver, [protected], my address is 1110 N Warwick Ave. Baltimore MD 21216
I brought a 2016 Volkswagen Passat on 10/19/22 at Volkswagen Antwerpan out Pasadena around 1900. My sales person was Shakir Harrison, the general manager that was very rude to me was Yancey. I texted Shakir on 10/20 @10:20am letting him know the charger port don;t work.. he instructed me to make and appt with the service department. On Saturday 10/22 I texted him letting him know the defrost didn't work. He than gave me a number and told me to ask for Wendi or Julie. I made an appt for 10/26 @8am, I had to change the appt due to a onboarding appt in Va that was already scheduled. Overall, my appt for service was scheduled for 10/31 @8am, Julie texted me a 6:46am letting me know that we could communicate by way of text. I then texted letting her know I wrote on the envelope I needed 3 things looked at the defrost, the usb and the ac. @1014, Julie texted back telling me that it would be $115 to replace the fuse for the usb and that the actuator is jammed and requires replacement that would cost me $1520 for the defrost to be fixed. I told her I should not take the cost of almost $2000 due to me just getting the car and I need defrost to see and usb for power. I was than told they are not covered under warranty and I had to pay. I asked to speak to management and Yancey then basically told me a fuse was missing and basically that it was there when I got the car and now not there. I asked him was he accusing me of removing the fuse, he stated he is just stating the fuse is missing. I said I should not be responsibly for this and that there is a 4 day clause in the contract that if I am unsatisfied with the car I can bring it back. He stated there is no such thing.. I remember going over it with the finance manager. My appt was after 4 days
Desired outcome: The dealer fix the issues that I brought to there attention with no out of pocket expense due to me or they take the car back and give me a working car.
