We wanted install the blown in insulation in our walls, we went to the store to order as they don't stock the larger bags in stores, we told the counter person which one we wanted but she showed us a low dust Version at the same price. When product arrived we rented a truck to bring insulation and installation machine home. This is where the problems began, first the machine is incredibly heavy, upon getting home and setting up the machine we found they didn't provide the necessary hose for installing in the walls, we called the rental Dept and were told they don't have the hose for walls and to just try to "make something like a vacuum cleaner hose work" due to not having the proper hose, a weekend project took a week increasing the cost from $50.00 (1 day was n/c ) to $350.00 for the week. because of the missing hose the operation was slowed so I was not abled to complete 3 rooms leaving me with 12 bags of insulation left over. I called to let them know I would be returning the unused insulation and machine, I rented a truck to return the machine and remaining insulation. When I attempted to return the insulation I was told that since the woman who placed the order didn't order the 36 bags I initially wanted but instead ordered the low dust 36 bag pallet the remaing 12 bags could not be returned. I spoke with the manager who said even though I contacted the rental Dept about the missing hose since I didn't speak to him he couldn't do anything about the rental cost, and since the counter person ordered the skid pack I couldn't return the dozen bags, the only thing he could offer was to let me use a truck to take the insulation back home. After talking to a friend who had a problem at a different home Depot. He suggested I call the customer service dept in Georgia. When I cantacted customer service the woman was very apologetic and said she would forward the complaint to the store manager. It's now been a month and still haven't heard from anyone. Home Depot used to make evey effort to resolve issues now they rent defective equipment, and make no effort to resolve problems caused by failures on their part.
