I've had the start card for over ten years. It is handy and for the most part I never had any issues with the product..until recently, and it turns out it's a huge problem. I wish I never got the card in the first place. I always stay up to date with card and typically pay off my balance as soon as I make a purchase. At the end of last year I stopped and used the card to purchase, just a small purchase at a minimal, smakes and a coffee. So I had less than. One hundred dollar balance on my card. I make all my payments online. I had recently changed my bank account Information on the website as they take payment directly from your account. Anyhow. I made my payments and it showed on the web page that the payments were received and everything was good to go. Then a couple of months later my credit dropped 150 points. I found out it was because military star was showing I was over a month late on my payment! When I called and asked how this happened they said my bank account I fo was I putted incorrectly so the payment wasn't processed. Even though on the website it still showed everything was good! There was no phone call, no email, I had no way of knowing there was an issue. When I tried to explain to the customer service rep that there was literally no way I could have known and that I have an great history of paying my bills ontime and it was a mistake and that I was going by the Information their website provided me she told me she could not help me. I emailed their credit department and they never responded. I had excellent credit and it was literally destroyed...down over 100 points because I went by the Information they provided on their website. It's devastating. I have no recourse and it will take years to fix my credit. No one will even talk to me from the company. I wish I never got this card and will urge anyone to stay as far away as possible. They are a machine and don't care about their customers. They will single handedly destroy your credit and never look back. Stay away from this company.
