I live at Asbury Manor..our sidewalks are still covered in snow and ice..The parking lot is a mess and not plowed..if someone has to go out it’s very difficult..the maintenance man was here yesterday and did a little bit with the snow blower but only in spots..the parking lot behind the building has not been cleared and that’s where I’m parked..the hill that is beside the building has not been touched..I’m afraid to go out to clean my car for fear of falling..hopefully you can do a better job of dealing with this..the office girl and maintenance are only here 2 days a week and are not very reliable and could care less..I think they forget that this is a senior citizen facility.. This is a community plauged with promblems and a failure to address residents concern appropiately.The community is problematic with issues of drug dealing, noise disturbances, thefts, vandelism, property damage, and threats against persons. They have also been in the news (okland Press) in 2007 along with coverage from all major news stations in racial threats/intimidation, property damage and hate against sexual orientation. The Waterford Police dept, Det. White and FBI agent Christine Taylor have investigated such incidents as well as Michigan Dpet. Civil Rights (settlement agreement reacded in discrimination of applicant for fair hosuing), HUD fair Hsg Ofc Chicgago, OIG HUD, Legal Aid and Defenders of Pontiac (Alicia Skillman) Fair Hsg. Unit, and NAACP Bloomfiled Law Center Attorney Wallace Parker.
This complex remains a dagerous community to live due to failed implementation of security measures readily available under HUD "drug Elimination' Act that provides grant for improvement of security to include cameras, patrols, gates, community based programs for substance abuse and other such measures. The unwillingness to act leaves residents and taxpayers suffering the effects of criminal acts and acts against human digity.
