We have been trying to get a pay off for an account for over a week. This piece of crap organization will not provide the pay off, even though the house has been sold, and they can get their money. They would rather screw the dead client's child out of $60 worth of interest, than to be decent and just provide the information needed and let the heir move on with his life. We even asked for just a verbal, and this company refuses to cooperate in any way. This home had been under contract for over a month; there was no reason whatsoever that a pay off could not have been provided immediately, when every other bank can have one within 30 minutes. Why? Because processing pay offs is not a "priority". Reverse mortgages tend to be a rip off anyway, but this "company" has taken the disservice to an entirely new level of sleaze. Way to take advantage of the elderly and their families.
This company should never receive contracts with the approval of HUD or any government agency to service reverse mortgages.
I have been trying for over four months to have them get a release of encumbrance on a lot we own clear and free that was added to a RM of our they service to no avail .
We lost a $159,900 cash sale on this lot because they failed to have the lien/encumbrance removed.
Our requests for updates and information on this matter go unanswered.
They have an obligation to us to as a borrower to correct the errors made in a timely manner .
Unfortunately, they show no concern for the hardship they have caused both financially and emotionally.
I’m forced to retain a Law Firm to demand action.
I also requested information from their consumer website for assistance with no response. This is the email they post for consumer assistance.
What a tragedy that an organization like this is allowed to control mortgages of the elderly who our on fixed incomes . Most retirees don’t have extra funds to have attorney firms fight for their rights or injustices.
They have locked up $160k of our money with no concern for our needs of same.
