My doctor prescribed an Albuterol (generic) inhaler for me. They prescribed 6.7 g 90 mcg at a cost of $68 per month. When I found out the cost I contacted the doctor who changed the prescription to 8.5 90 mcg which cost $12 per 90 day supply through Express Scripts. I contacted Express Scripts on Sept 15, BEFORE the 6.7g prescription had been filled, and requested they cancel it. The representative assured me that she had cancelled the 6.7g and that the 8.5 g will be filled and sent to me. When the prescription arrived, it was for the 6.7g and the bill was for $68. The representative had cancelled the WRONG prescription! I immediately called Express Scripts and was told I couldn't send it back and that I owed the $68. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they'd contact me within a few days. The supervisor stated that they had requested the 8.5g prescription from my doctor but they were resent the 6.7g again. However, my doctor office stated that they had requested the 8.5g. I asked the supervisor if, when the 8.5g was requested andand, as she claimed, the doctor resent the 6.7g, why hadn't Express Scripts caught the discrepency. When I called on Sept. 14 to confirm the correct prescription I was told by the Express Scripts representative that she had cancelled the correct prescription, when she had actually cancelled the wrong one. I asked to see the transcripts of my conversations with Express Scripts and was told no that I couldn't see them. Meanwhile, I am charged $68 for a prescription I did not want and that I was assured had been cancelled! Of course, Express Scripts does not accept any blame for their error. I will not use their by mail service ever again and will instead fill prescriptions at my local pharmacy. Express Scripts policies are one sided and not designed for customer satisfaction nor for successful resolutions to customer concerns.
Desired outcome: I would like to be able to send back the incorrect prescription and to be credited the $68 charged to me.
