I am filing this complaint due to the many discrepancies I've experienced since being an EZPassMD customer. I thought that signing up for this program would essentially save me money since I am a frequent user of the tunnels here in Baltimore but have had so many problems with billing and system errors. First, a few years back, when I canceled my subscription after no longer needing it, my account was at 0 balance in good standing. However, when I received a statement showing I owed for unused trips, I thought something must be wrong since I have not replenished my account for trips to start over, no longer using the transponder. I disputed and was told a supervisor would contact me to discuss further. I never received the phone call and the agent I did speak with told me I was charged again because I replenished my account although there was no record of this on my bank statement. This was never resolved and still shows as owed in their system I'm sure with notes from previous disputes yet never escalated. This past year with Covid pulling toll attendants away, I was not receiving bills and tolls did not show up when putting in vehicle information for the entire year of 2021. Then I finally receive a box of bills and they kept coming. When I learned of the amnesty, I made a payment of over $2400 and cleared my account so I thought. I double checked and searched under my vehicle tag number to confirm payment was received and much to my surprise another account popped up. When I called to inquire about this, the agent informed me there were still multiple tolls due in an amount exceeding another $1000 which didn't seem right at all since I've had the same vehicles for several years now. How was it that I had so many different accounts for the same vehicles and why was certain account showing up and not others. Why wasn't this included in the bulk payment I had just made. I then questioned if these were duplicate bills or if there was a system error. I did speak with a supervisor then only to be told there was nothing they could do and I had to pay or else civil penalties would be added adding a tremendous amount of fees making the amount nearly impossible to pay. They are not able to provide any audits, payment plans, or at least show that I am in fact responsible for these bills. They do not even offer a payment plan to settle and amnesty is apparently once in a lifetime literally. I do not think this is fair and the fact that they charge for unused trips is ridiculous. If I'm not using the tunnel, why should I have to pay? I think there are enough commuters that have this same issue to perform an audit, change the system, or place attendants back at the tolls to give commuters an option. This excessive billing system should be illegal. I have paid my EZPassMD balance in full and any other accounts that were not available for me to see when paying that large amount should be voided. Why is it that a system creates multiple accounts for same registered vehicles and drivers but does not provide the information to the consumer to properly manage their account? And how is it that I actually had an account on my end that I could see but they couldn't? That is proof their system is not accurate!

Desired outcome: I would like any balances owed to be voided since they mysteriously showed up after I made a lump sum payment to bring my account current and to zero balance.
