We have a 2004 Ford F-250 (diesel) that shuts off while driving. The water in the fuel indicator will appear and then the truck will completely shut down. We've been in traffic when this happens and nearly caused several accidents. I (the wife) no longer drive the truck in fear of an accident. The dealership has been unable to correct this problem. Has anyone had similiar issues and if so how did you rectify it ?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I purchased a certified used 2008 Ford Expedition EL from Fairway Ford February '09 with 23K miles. I took the car in for an oil change and to repair the passenger window May 22, 2009. I was told the regulator was bad and needed to be replaced and that the rear brakes need to be replaced also. the regulator was covered under warranty, however, they wanted $180.00 for the rear brake pads. this is for a vehilcle I've owned for 3 months. they were unwilling to repair/replace the brakes, even though the vehicle was certified before purchase in Feburary of '09. After 2 very intense conversations, they said the best they could do is split the "bare costs" of the brake pad replacement and furnish a rental car for the time the car was in the shop waiting on the regulator to come in. Once the vehilce was ready to be picked up, I was told the "bare costs" is $180.00 for the brakes, so my portion would be $90.00. "Bare cost" for a vehicle they sold me 3 months earlier should be no more than the "cost of the brake pads, themselves." They are wanting to include labor as well on a vehicle they "certified" for sale 3 months earlier. I will never do business with Fairway Ford again and caution anyone who purchases a vehicle from them. They reel you in and get you when you have to come back in 3 months and pay for labor and parts that were certified at the time of sale less than 90 days before.
Sir with the 2004 F-250 diesle truck did you ever figure out what was going on with the truck? I bought a truck there in Waycross, GA and have been having the same problems with mine. Ford can't figure out what's going on with mine either.
