James (or Jay) Lowther has approached several film students at UC Santa Barbara requesting that they be part of a documentary he claims will be on Oprah's new TV network. He has offered no form of compensation for the work he wants done on the project aside from the promise of a credit on the work. While this promise, on its own, does not constitute a scam, the overall lack of information available on him or his company, and his insistence on equipment rented by others, appears to be a very shady operation.

Mr. Lowther's alleged company, Encore International Film Group, yields results from Xing.com (http://www.xing.com/profile/JAMES_LOWTHER), claiming that the business is looking for funding for an "International feature Documentary film and 11 film slate motion picture Hollywood deal package represented by the WILLIAM MORRIS AGENCY and PRODUCERS GUILD OF AMERICA."

Results also include several listings regarding the casting of SAG and non-SAG actresses and models, including a Blogspot which appears to be devoted to this cause (http://internationaltalentforhollywoodmovies.blogspot.com/), and which blatantly reposts a 7-page article by TheWrap.com's Ted Hope, entitled "38 More Ways the Film Industry Is Failing Today".

What's more, contact information regarding Encore International Film Group is practically never consistent.

On Mr. Lowther's Blogspot (address above), his email is given as [protected]@gmail.com, and at GermanyJobs77.com it appears as [protected]@fastmail.us.

Phone numbers range from [protected], to [protected], and [protected] on his Blogspot. In a posting at ipetitions.com: [protected] or [protected].

Skype IDs range from 'james.lowther2', to 'efigroup1', to 'ther2'.

In an October 24, 2010 posting on Santa Barbara Craigslist entitled "SERIOUS INVESTORS OF A HOLLYWOOD FEATURE MOVIE", Mr. Lowther writes:

"The upcoming Hollywood movie project, 'HOTEL CALIFORNIA.' according to the Writers Guild of America experts and film critics have said this the movie is on the same magnitude or higher than 'CITIZEN KANE' and the 'ENGLISH PATIENT' which was produced by Miramax Films that won nine (9) Oscar awards during 1996. "

Excessive grammatical errors aside, the film "Hotel California: Diaries, Secrets, and Scandals" appears nowhere on IMDb.com. Nor does James Lowther--for anything. A Google search of the film, as titled, yields just 2 results--Mr. Lowther's Blogspot and Craigslist post. So how exactly does a "film critic" write a review of an "upcoming Hollywood movie project" when it hasn't even been made yet?!

And even if this film is made (which I fully believe will never happen), who would EVER write something so horribly worded to entice people to invest in such an endeavor?! An excerpt, for instance, from Mr. Lowther's Craigslist post describes the film as such:

"Upon arrival in New York, the Russian family, the Gawzners had finally arrived to work and finally traveled to California to seek the American Dream in which the family purchased their family fortune, the Miramar Hotel known as Hotel California. Years later terrible tragedies occurred for the Gawzner family which still haunts the family today historically. James P. Gawzner is the only living Russian family member whom has gave account of a true, accurate and historical story to the Hollywood movie industry in which he has accomplished that at this moment. During the golden years of the hotel’s existence as racial tensions sweeping across the nation the Russian family hired an unique employee, Grover Cleveland Barnes whom an African-American revived the hotel in a major way as head bell man for 35 years. Mr. Barnes at 104 years old whom received an acknowledgement letter from President Obama for the Congressional Record of Honor."

Scam or not, Mr. Lowther's degree of professionalism is so low that it would truly make me rethink the film and media industry itself if somebody like Oprah would actually consider supporting this "project".

I can only hope that those who come in contact with Mr. Lowther on a professional level do a quick Google search of his name, find this article, and then use the information that I have gathered here to better assess whatever plans they intend on making with him.

Taken from his latest Santa Barbara Craigslist post (Oct. 24) in which he gives yet another email address to reply to (november3434@yahoo.com):

"Momentarily I am the movie producer and the creator/producer, James P/ Gawzner (sole living survivor of the family whom owned the famous/historical hotel) are attached to the historical movie project whom both are currently developing and producing a international documentary film and Hollywood motion picture which is a true and historical story to be considered for worldwide distribution either by Oprah Winfrey's Ro Co Films International to co-produce the Hollywood movie worldwide."

The sole living survivor who owns something of great importance, you say?! Well now I'm torn between funding your documentary or paying an initial fee for the inheritance of the deceased Nigerian king who listed me in his will!

"Momentarily myself and James P. Gawzner are seeking available funding ($200, 000 USD) to complete and produce the international documentary film for the Oprah Winfrey cable television network as a preliminary movie project before the much anticipated Hollywood feature movie, 'HOTEL CALIFORNIA' to be produced and released worldwide. Complete funding FOR ($35, 0000, 000 USD) is requested for the film budget of the Hollywood feature movie for completion is highly requested of the upcoming and anticipated Hollywood movie, 'HOTEL CALIFORNIA'."

Let me get this straight--he's looking to fund $200, 000 through a Craigslist events posting? Really...?!
And he sure likes to use the word "momentarily" a lot... Sounds like he's ready to be doing something else at a moments notice. Like fleeing the country.

"I need to tell you that Rob Lowe and Oprah Winfrey both live within 5 minutes away from the historical Miramar Hotel which is highly regarded and quite ironic. Also the international documentary film, HOTEL CALIFORNIA. will be entered in competition at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in November 16, 2010 for the documentary film and the Venice International Film Festival in 2011 for the Hollywood feature film."

"Quite ironic"...? I'm not sure he really grasps the concept of irony, though, I suppose that doesn't surprise me given his previous and future attempts at structuring a simple sentence...

From another Craigslist post of James Lowther's, entitled "11/19-11/23: November 19th 2010: SERIOUS INVESTORS OF A HOLLYWOOD FEATURE MOVIE":

"Presently the movie project is attached to Oprah Winfrey's Own Television Network and to Rob Lowe's, Miramax Films which was recently purchased by Tom Barrack and Rob Lowe. The screenplay is written by Hollywood's elite screenplay writer, David Sheldon."

Wait a minute... Mr. Lowther earlier stated that the international documentary for Oprah's network was a "preliminary project before the much anticipated Hollywood feature movie, 'HOTEL CALIFORNIA'." But now it sounds like he's saying that the "Hollywood feature movie" IS the international documentary for Oprah's network.

And David Sheldon writing the screenplay? Really...?! David Sheldon who, according to IMDb, has only ever been a part of two documentaries since 1972, both of which he was credited as a Consulting producer / Actor in--not a writer. Not to mention the fact that Mr. Lowther is claiming to be making a documentary, so why would he need one of "Hollywood's elite screenplay writers" to write a simple treatment for a documentary? I can only hope that one of these individuals in some way discovers that their names are associated with this scam / hackjob and manages to set things right. I'm sure they won't be the last big-name attractions that Mr. Lowther chooses to implicate, however...

Why, hello there, EFGI ("Encore Film Group International"). Can I call you Mr. Lowther? I mean, you are Mr. Lowther, correct? You sure seem to have a lot of information about Mr. Lowther that Google sure didn't have access to... And if you merely "represent" Mr. Lowther, would it be out of line to ask you what kind of salary he's paying you? (I hope it's not a credit). Regardless, I am glad that you have decided to make a rather public appearance to refute my complaint.

I suppose I will address your first comment claiming that my information is false and "ripe for a law suit" (lawsuit is one word, by the way). My response is fairly simple: if you would like to prove that my information is false, then please, do us all a favor and fill in the blanks. In your second post, I can see that you have attempted to start this process, but I would implore you to address many of the points that you did not address, and even some of the ones that you have but which I would like to elaborate on.

So here we go! This should be fun! =)

1 -- Why does the name of your company change so often? On this site, you named yourself "EFGI"--Encore Film Group International. Elsewhere, however, you have posts listing you as Encore International Film Group. Why the inconsistency?

2 -- What is the title of the "preliminary project before the much anticipated Hollywood feature movie, 'HOTEL CALIFORNIA'"?

3 -- (This is one of the ones you asked "What is the point?") On your Xing.com profile, you mentioned an "11 film slate motion picture Hollywood deal packaged." What are the names of these film?

4 -- (In response to "Make sense?") No, it does not yet make sense. Why do you not appear on IMDb.com?

5 -- You claim that you have "soild [solid] proofs [proof] that Oprah is supporting the project." Where is the solid proof?

6 -- Is your spell check broken, or did it give up?

If you could simply answer those six questions, I will consider removing my complaint from this website. If, however, you fail to give solid, factual explanations, then my complaint will remain. There are, however, other questions that I would also like to ask, but of which I will not stress the immediate importance of. First of all, could you please explain how the information contained within my complaint is "racist" and "discriminating"? Those are some powerful terms to throw around in an attempt to paint me as the bad guy–which you sure do try to do a lot–but they really have no facts to support them.

I would like to end this post by listing your spelling mistakes in order of appearance (grammar is a lost cause):

assisstant prooof asssisted fiilmmaker liebel serioulys judgement fillmmaker artisitic soild professsional liebel

Does that convey professionalism to you, because I'm not convinced...

Mr. Lowther: just because your words appear larger, does not make them any more valid. Constantly using caps lock, beyond placing emphasis on a few words, does not prove your point--it makes you sound as if you're attempting to scream and yell every point that you're trying to convey.

You clearly misunderstood my first question, and attempted to worm your way out of answering the rest by claiming that it is, essentially, "none of my business." You do understand why an individual would want to know information a project before they work on or donate to it, don't you? You claim, amongst other things, that you are trying to raise upwards of $200, 000 for this film project, but you give practically no evidence to support that this project even exists in the first place. Can you not see how this lack of information can be easily interpreted as a scam?!

Your inability to provide an answer to the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th questions that I asked of you only serve to reinforce my argument. You may claim that you will not divulge the information to me simply because I am not an "international distributor or movie producer, " but it is my opinion that you are choosing to withhold this information because these projects, in fact, do not exist! You have provided absolutely no information to convince me otherwise, despite my request of such factual evidence.

Instead, you have repeatedly attributed my questioning of your motives to some kind of racism. A scam is a scam, Mr. Lowther. It does not matter what race a person is; if they cannot provide me with sufficient information to convince me that their project is indeed legitimate, then I will not invest my time or money into that project, and cannot allow others to do so either. I am merely attempting to prevent others from being exploited by what appears to me to be a scam, and I fail to see how my personal efforts on this site reflect a waste of "federal, state, and private monies."

And just to address the last portion of your comment regarding plagiarism: are you suggesting that simply because I do not personally know Ted Hope means that I don't know what is plagiarism and what isn't? And are you seriously trying to tell me that Ted Hope--currently credited as a producer on over 60 films on IMDb--is not the originator of the article that you blatantly copied and pasted into your Blogspot? If that is the case then you, sir, are a fraud.

@radio rob: Thank you very much for this information!

I recently received a message from an individual who saw a Craigslist post of Mr. Lowther's, Googled the number he was given, and arrived at this ComplaintsBoard post. After further communication, he directed me to a resume on IMDb that appears to have been posted by Mr. Lowther after the creation of my complaint (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4196272/resume). The resume is, of course, riddled with bold claims lacking of evidence--a fact reiterated at the bottom of the resume with a statement from IMDb reading: "IMDb is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of the contents of this page, which have been supplied by a third party and have not been screened or verified."

What I find interesting about this information, combined with what you discovered about this alleged insurance fraud, is that the address listed at the top of Mr. Lowther's IMDb resume is 3717 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard--the same street that appears in the article you provided--and the birth name given on this resume appears as "James E. Lowther."

A series of quotes from the article 'radio rob' discovered:
"James Edward Lowther of Santa Ynez pleaded guilty to insurance fraud. He committed his felony when he altered an official accident report. [...] Back in 2006, on February 20th, a traffic collision report was filed to the Thousand Oaks Police Department by James Edward Lowther. He reported that, on February 18th, he was on a sidewalk in front of a strip mall on Thousand Oaks Boulevard when he was struck by a car that was being driven by Julie Langenhorst. [...] Lowther then managed to obtain a copy of the police report and altered the report using a computer to make it appear that Langenhorst was in fact at fault for the accident. Lowther sent this forged report to Allstate and then sued Langenhorst in a small claims court for the personal injuries he received."

I've attached screenshots of these two pages, though I'm not sure if they will be resized.

Also a few more interesting quotes from what appears to be Mr. Lowther's profile at BlackPlanet.com (http://www.blackplanet.com/jaylo1969/):

"At the moment I live outside of Santa Barbara area which is called Montecito. Only A 5 minute drive from my place to Oprah Winfrey's 22 acre estate villa!"

...Sounds like the right guy.

"Well me and Halle go a long wayz back in the dayz on Spike Lee?s film production set in Brooklyn. Meeting once again last year when she made history after winning an OSCAR as I we had reunion in Cannes for her MTV party last year. She gave me this pic of her to remind us of the good times we had in New York. Enough of Halle for now!"

...Really, Mr. Lowther? You claim to know Halle Berry...? Perhaps she could clear up all of this "harassment" for us then?

I'm sorry, but this just isn't the way a successful film executive acts. Posting ads on Craigslist, creating free Blogspots for films that supposedly have a budget of $37 million--it's ridiculous. Anybody can see that this guy is a complete fraud!

Care to explain why the majority of the "PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY OF SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS" section of your IMDb resume is copied and pasted nearly word for word from JobBankUSA's "free sample resume" page? Skeptical? Check out these two pages:
http://www.jobbankusa.com/resumes/free_samples/examples_templates_formats/producer.html and http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4196272/resume

And why is it that you chose to plagiarize Ryan Isaac Spevack's biography (http://www.yournextproducer.com/biography.html)--merely replacing his name with your own in the "PERSONAL QUOTES" section of your IMDb "resume"?

Is it that you admire Ryan Spevack's work? Because I don't think that Mr. Spevack would appreciate you copying his achievements words for word and claiming them as your own, as you did in the "PRODUCER FILMOGRAPHY" section of your resume. Here's the link: http://www.yournextproducer.com/resumeweb.html. Look familiar?

Please, Mr. Lowther, have some respect for the film industry. None of the individuals that you are stealing material from got to where they are today by fraudulently riding the coattails of others--they did it through a degree of perseverance that I honestly can't imagine you being capable of.

"I can FACTUALLY observe on the official California DMV traffic responsibility declaration document that every auto driver must complete in the state of California after an accident had occurred that Julie Langenhorst did visited the California DMV office as she falsified and on the document that "she was the walking pedestrian as she did not know who the auto driver was".
Are you kidding me?"

You have, by far, the worst grammar of any "prominent lawyer" I have ever encountered... Have you ever been introduced to the concept of a period or perhaps a run-on sentence? (That last one's a no-no) Seriously though, it's amazing how similar your writing style is to EFIG's. Did you two attend the same community college? I'll certainly look into it, but I'm pretty sure that impersonating an attorney is against the law to some degree. Haven't you had your fair share of run-ins with the law?

A recent post of yours on Santa Barbara's Craigslist lists Mr. Lowther's contact email address as november3434@yahoo.com and his contact phone number as [protected]. This phone number has been used by Mr. Lowther in several other EFIG postings listed in my original complaint. The body of this Craigslist post (pictured below) reads:

"Hollywood producer is seeking a creative and professional screenplay writer for upcoming Hollywood movie project.
Telephone: [protected]"
[Source] http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/tfr/2116908766.html

Notice that the wording of this post is the exact same as the post above, in which the phone number [protected] was given. I did not pull this number out of thin air, Mr. Lowther--it is from that posting. Compare the two posts yourself. Look familiar?

I would also like to point out a recent posting on Craigslist in the TV / Film / Video section that appears to be a response to Mr. Lowther's postings:

Title: "Hollywood"producer or screenwriter (?)
"As someone who has worked in all levels of "Hollywood" film production, I can tell you that NO professional would seek out producers or screenwriters on Craigslist. I don't know anything at all about the person posting the ads for a producer or a screenwriter, but the number of times I've seen the ads posted is indicative of how many times they've been flagged, I'd think. If you truly want a career in "Hollywood" talk to a reputable film company - and if you are a writer, get an agent! Use caution if you respond to these ads - seems like a huge scam!"
[Source] http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/tfr/2147022903.html

Clearly, Mr. Lowther, I am not the only one who feels that your postings on Craigslist are extremely unprofessional.

Also, could I please have the name and number of your law firm so that I may call you with my legal name and contact information for the lawsuit that you are threatening me with? That should save you the time of having to "find me" and would surely speed these legal proceedings along.

After a bit of searching, it appears that the number placed into Mr. Lowther's ad on Craigslist [[protected]] does not belong to him, but rather a Victoria DaCosta of Santa Barbara. Seeing as the construction of Mr. Lowther's posts are always very similar (CAN YOU SAY CAPS LOCK?!), it is my best guess that Ms. DaCosta is merely another instance of collateral damage in his string of Craigslist posts. Perhaps Mr. Lowther was simply tired of using one of his other contact numbers and instead used one he found in the phonebook (Ms. DaCosta is a local business owner)--it's hard to say. Whatever the case, however, Victoria DaCosta does not at all appear to be affiliated with this complaint.

Way to write the number incorrectly--really helps your case as a "prominent" lawyer. Let me correct you on a few things...

First of all, it was never stated that this number belonged to you, merely that you appeared to be using it. It was--as the screenshots that I posted will illustrate--clearly posted in the same exact format as so many of your other posts (which continue to spam the TV/Film/Video section of Santa Barbara and Ventura Craigslist). Of course, as paranoid and anti-police as you sound, I wouldn't put it past you to write this off as some kind of "racist conspiracy" against you. Might even go a little something like this:

"THIS MUST BE JAMES GAWZNER OR THE POLICE! THOSE ARE FACTUALLY THE ONLY TWO OPTIONS FOR WHOM COULD POSSIBLY BE COMMITTING THIS RACIST HARASSMENT! clearly they are posting a false number to steal business from PROFESSIONALS responding to my HIGHLY ESTEEMED craigslist advertisements requesting professional screenplay writers and producers for unknown films! OH AND DID I MENTION MONEY? I NEED YOUR MONEY!"

Annnnd scene. Wow, writing in all caps like that ALL THE TIME can really be exhausting. I just don't know HOW you accomplish all that without a SEVERE case of CARPAL TUNNEL!

Let's cut the crap, Mr. Lowther. You have not contacted an attorney. You are personally operating under all three of the account names that you have posted as on this site, including "EFGI", "ENCORE FILM GROUP INTERNATIONAL", and (my personal favorite due to its incredible stupidity and lack of creativity) "ALL LAW".

As if your attempt to impersonate a successful filmmaker wasn't bad enough, I can honestly say that I believe your attempt at impersonating a lawyer was even more pathetic. I can assure you, Mr. Lowther, that no attorney in their right mind would EVER post something as accusatory and unprofessional on a website like this!

You asked why I am on this website in the first place. Well, to answer that question for you, I began posting on this website because I had heard about your actions within the Santa Barbara film community and was immediately suspicious that your entire operation was a scam. And guess what--I'm extremely glad that I did begin posting on this website, because as soon as you discovered that you were being exposed you came running to defend yourself with every bit of unprofessionalism as I would have expected. Not only that, but others that have dealt with you before began contributing as well. "anonyson" posted that you had scammed her too, and later on "radio rob" revealed that you had been involved in insurance fraud in Ventura county. All of this information--including the writing that you yourself have done within the comments section--has added to the validity of my original complaint.

As always, of course, I would love to give you the chance to prove me wrong. If "ALL LAW" is in fact your lawyer, then by all means prove it by posting his/her law firm and public contact information. You keep claiming that you want something done legally to put my postings to an end, and yet even after I offered to personally contact your so-called "lawyer" and give him my information, you have consistently backed down from doing so. You're all talk Mr. Lowther--just like the films projects that you try to scam people with. You toy with their hopes and aspirations of a job in the film industry by claiming associations with companies you could never dream of working with simply because of your complete lack of honesty and integrity.

If you really were the head of a multi-million dollar film, do you really think that you would be the one to have to personally refute my claims? Not a chance. The lawyers would have taken care of this without ever having to post a single thing on this website. I really get a kick out of all of this, though, because on some level I keep expecting your next ComplaintsBoard screen name to be OPRAH WINFREY--it honestly wouldn't surprise me. And do you know what else is funny? The fact that you actually spent the money to create an IMDb account simply so you could try to gain the illusion of credibility. I hope it was worth it to you to post a resume riddle with fallacies and the work of others.

So I'll leave you with this, Mr. Lowther... What's it going to take for you to be honest?

Update by sbidfilm
Jan 13, 2011 9:11 pm EST

I'd like to point out that ALL LAW earlier stated, "This is not Mr.Lowther who you are speaking to. Its his prominent lawyer who is representing him, " but is now speaking as if he IS James Lowther... That is, unless of course his lawyer has a lawyer...

So which is it, Mr. Lowther? Why do you feel the need to constantly shroud everything that you say with lies or half-truths? How about trying a little bit of integrity?--I mean, how long do you really think you're going to be able to claim that you're an accomplished filmmaker while at the same time accomplishing nothing? Ambitions based on theft and dishonesty will get you nowhere, Mr. Lowther. And from what I can tell, it's been taking you there pretty fast lately...

And as far as this "lawyer" business goes, haven't you realized yet that I'm not going to be intimidated by your overtly idle threats? You may claim that you are in the process of finding who I am, but let's be real here--you have absolutely no idea. If you actually DID have a lawyer, do you realize how much he would be billing you for every minute that he spends looking for me? Why would you waste that much money simply to find somebody that you "never took seriously from the start"? And if it's simply that you feel I've wronged or harassed you--or as you would say "slanderized" (which is not a word, by the way)--then why have you not taken me up on the opportunity to contact your lawyer with my information so that we can get all of this settled in court?

Like I've said before, just post your lawyer's public phone number and I guarantee that within 24 hours of receiving it, I will contact him/her. After that, you would know who I am. Sounds to me like the best (and most professional) way to actually handle this little situation. But if you insist, feel free to continue wasting your money (time) by having some "lawyer" (you) scour the internet for me.

Seriously, though, does THIS make sense to you: "Let's see you will relate to double legal charges." ? Has your "law firm" abolished the use of commas or words like "how"? I'm not entirely sure what's going on there... Also, I'm pretty sure that even if there were such a thing as "double legal charges, " it definitely wouldn't be relevant to anything we've been talking about.

It doesn't help your case when you spell "illiterate" wrong within the first two words of your sentence...

Also, I already told you: I'm only going to give my name and number to Mr. Lowther's attorney, which clearly you are not. If you give me the name and number of the attorney, then I will be more than happy to comply. How is that being cowardly? I'm not stupid, Mr. Lowther--I know what your intentions would be if I gave my personal information to you and not a lawyer.

And why do you keep referring to yourself in the third person? You either are Mr. Lowther or you aren't--try to keep your stories straight.

As far as theft goes, yes, Mr. Lowther has stolen plenty of things in his life. In fact, a great number of those thefts are all gathered on the same page--his IMDb resume. Just take a look at the section entitled "Personal Quotes." Mr. Lowther stole this entire section, word for word, from the biography of its original author, Ryan Isaac Spevack. Look for yourself: http://www.yournextproducer.com/biography.html

Of course, Mr. Lowther will play the same game as he has in the past (with his plagiarized blog posts), claiming that I don't know who the original author actually is. As I posted in an earlier comment, though, this isn't the only part of Mr. Lowther's resume that is copied and pasted directly from the sites of others in the film industry. So would he have me believe that ALL of these websites are stealing from his resume (which he just posted on IMDb within the last few months)? It's a ridiculous notion.

The only impact you're making in the film industry is a negative one, Mr. Lowther.

ALLLAW--You earlier wrote: "First of all a great producer will not have the time to write such rubbish on the internet as he will be very busy in this complex film industry." Don't you find that even the slightest bit ironic seeing as James Lowther himself was on this board (writing in both the first and third person, I might add) responding to these posts?

Not to mention the fact that--as I've stated early--I'm pretty certain ALLLAW is simply James Lowther writing under yet another username. I mean, look at how they write. Is that really just a coincidence?

So, in reality, James Lowther has wasted FAR more time writing posts on this board than 'aProducer' has. How long would it really have taken aProducer to write what he posted...? Just a few minutes? Mr. Lowther, on the other hand, has been at this for far longer and has written far more. So this naturally begs the question that you yourself asked of aProducer: If you are so busy in "this complex film industry, " why are you spending so much of your own time "writing such rubbish on the internet"...?

And on a side note before you respond in a rage-filled, caps-locked message that addresses none of these questions, let me tell you this: I never claimed to be the "super-successful" Hollywood filmmaker that you claimed to be. When you make claims, Mr. Lowther, you have to back them up.

"It does not matter what you think if you think I am Mr. Lowther or not which I am not." Did they teach you to persuade people like that in law school? I feel as if I'm under a Jedi mind trick. That's impressive.

"Are you afraid to tell me me who you are?" Really...? That's the approach you're going to try to take? Let's try this... Are YOU afraid to tell me who YOU are? If you're the lawyer that you claim to be, there should be no reason to be afraid. If, as I suspect, you are in fact Mr. Lowther, then you will probably continue concealing your identity...

Also, just to respond to the latter half of your last post: Why are you so caught up on this job thing? I'm pretty happily employed right now. And when did I ever claim that I was a film student working at UCSB...? I'd love to see some citations.

Feb 02, 2011 2:42 am EST

Could you give me a quote from when I said that I was a student at UCSB, because I sure don't remember ever having written that... Perhaps my memory is foggy. Feel free to copy and paste that part of my comment for me, though. It would be an excellent refresher.

You think that just because my username on some arbitrary website is "sbidfilm" that that makes me a Film major at UCSB...? Doesn't sound like you're a very good lawyer, Jay. (By the way, I'm just gonna call you Jay because I'm tired of typing ALLLAW in ALLCAPS ALLTHETIME, and because you won't actually tell me your real name. Jay will probably feel quite familiar to you, though, so win-win.)

Also, Jay, is that how you settle your cases in court...? "YOU ARE A COMPLETE MENTALLY DERANGED LOSER!--Your honor I rest my case..." Man, I sure wish I could have a law degree from Caps Lock University... I guess I'll just have to settle for the way civilized people type their words...

Anyhow, Jay, there's a difference between me being a liar and you being an idiot. Your barrage of grammatical errors and spelling mishaps probably should have tipped me off to the possibility that you may not be the word's most proficient reader... Maybe next time I post you should read it through a few times...really take the time to absorb the material before you respond...maybe even remove the caps locks key from your computer.

Also, you posted: "Again! What is your name and are you part of this film industry?", which I'm going to assume is a response to me asking you to identify yourself. Why would I need to be a part of the film industry in order for a "lawyer" to tell me his/her name? ...Or does ALLLAW only deal people he knows in the "lawyer industry"? lol

P.S. - "cowards" has one "o"

Thanks for your time, BenBerlin! I can only hope that everybody else that talks to Mr. Lowther has the right state of mind to ask those relatively simple questions. The hypocrisy surrounding it all is quite amusing, in my opinion. I just wish more people could see it so clearly...

Worst fake lawyer ever?

You don't even realize that 'hannova' was trying to post on a different complaint, do you? Her comments weren't even directed at you--which she subsequently apologized for--and yet you are still too much of an idiot to acknowledge that...

Tagline: "The funny thing is all of you are just merely guessing and don't have a clue of what's really going on." -- A Film by James Lowther.
You pretty much just wrapped up the entire concept of your film, Mr. Lowther. Nobody has a clue what you claim to be producing, so why the hell would anybody want to invest in it?! That's not how business works!

Update by sbidfilm
Feb 09, 2011 5:11 pm EST

Wow, you never cease to amaze me, Jay! These are by far some of your most laughable comments yet.

In one "sentence" (which you managed to massacre) you claim, "But I can tell who you who is fake SBIDFILM!" Immediately after, you write "He is no way way shape, fashion, or form a fake [...]" Here's the thing: I understand what you were trying to say; I would just like to point out to you how much of an idiot you sound like as your try to say it. Keep trying, though--this stuff really is gold.

So let me explain a few things to you, Jay... I never claimed to be a film student and I never claimed to be involved in the film industry. This doesn't mean that I'm not--it just means that I am choosing not to divulge any information to you. These posts of yours are a perfect example of why I make those choices, Jay. Do you really think that a lawyer would try to sanction a BOXING MATCH in a parking lot of Warner Brothers Studios?! That is by far one of the most idiotic things that you have posted since you started using this ALL LAW pseudonym!

And what's up with spewing all of this hate speech, Jay? Seems like you're a slight bit homophobic, huh? Do you really think that that's the kind of language a lawyer would use?--calling me a "###" six times in your comment? It amazes and disgusts me at the same time how insecure you must be about your own sexuality to resort to those kinds of measures.

In a way, it's also kind of ironic that you choose (as ALL LAW) to speak about Mr. Lowther in such an adoring manner...
"...he is still a winner over you any day and any time in the film biz and in life."
"Mr.Lowther is a real man not pretending to be and whining and crying to the internet world"
"...we will see that Mr.Lowther will beat you not in the film business but in the boxing car lot of Warner Bros."
"Mr.Lowther is man enough for you to have his name."

Seems to me like ALL LAW has a bit of a man-crush, eh? I mean, you sure seem to be extremely defensive of your man...

And please, feel free to keep naming people in these posts. It will be interesting to hear who you consider your enemies to be. Might be a long list, huh, Jay?

P.S.--Check your messages: I sent you a few links to some organizations that might be able to help you with your homophobia =)

Update by sbidfilm
Feb 11, 2011 5:37 pm EST

Sexist much? Doesn't sound like you had a very influential mother figure in your life, huh...?

What exactly is "you are a coward behaving like a woman" supposed to mean? Is it that you think all women are weak, Jay? Or maybe that all women do is whine and cry? ...That's a pretty pathetic frame of mind to be in--especially for a (fake) "lawyer." So let me get this straight... Not only are you homophobic, but you're also sexist, correct? I find that ironic seeing as you love to accuse everybody of racism the moment things don't go exactly how you want them to.

So on one hand you claim discrimination and on the other you encourage it. Sounds like you're quite the hypocrite, Jay...

Quick, Jay! To the excuse-mobile! And while we're at it...

It looks like Jay is really stirring the press with his amazing new film that amazingly nobody anywhere is talking about: NOSTRADAMUS 2012 AD! ...Or are they...? One site has the foresight to recognize this amazing development in motion picture history! That's right, folks:

http://www.free-press-release.com/news-james-lowther-encore-film-group-international-1297727750.html

FreePressRelease.com--a site in which one must pass a rigorous screening test of pressing the "Create Free Account" button in order to post "news"--has the cojones to report on this miraculous revelation!

"The upcoming Hollywood movie project, NOSTRADAMUS 2012 AD will change the business dynamics and thinking of Hollywood and the rest of the world based on worldly events that are now occurring now."

Do you hear that, folks? Even the subtitle of the article completely obliterates the conventions of the English language! This baby is getting big! So big that it will change the world based on worldly events that are now occurring now! Can anybody even comprehend what that means?! NO! But you NEED TO SEE THIS FILM!

So what's this film actually about?
YOUR BRAIN POSITIVELY AND ACCURATELY CAN'T EVEN FATHOM!
When is it being released?
SO IMMEDIATELY THAT NEWS HASN'T EVEN HAD TIME TO WRITE ABOUT IT!
So where is it being released?
WORLD!

We attempted to contact the amazingly talented author of the article, Moshood Abdullahi, about his contention for a Nobel Peace Prize, but he would only respond, "I am not James Lowther." He did however, leave his phone number at the end of the article listed as [protected], which must mean that he is simply SHARING a phone number with Mr. Lowther, but is most definitely NOT James Lowther.
On the subject of brilliance, Mr. Lowther is cited in the article as stating, "A producer is not just a accountant, contract signer, or money chaser. The producer produces the motion picture entirely." Producers worldwide will surely rejoice over Mr. Lowther's revolutionary clarification.

I'm confused. You are posting as EFGI, presumably "Encore Film Group International". Yet you are "anticipating in a desperate way to go to the movie cinema and observe the realization and depth of both great films" (sic). So you belong to the EFGI, yet you couldn't watch your own movie until it came to the theatres? How is that even possible?

Hilarious! Was browsing craigslist this evening for work and came across an ad. Googled the phone number and found this site and subsequent thread:

FYI for all of those monitoring this thread, it would seem 'Mr'. Lowther is currently running a craigslist ad for "Producer Assistant, " as follows:

"Date: 2011-04-11, 5:59AM CEST
Reply to: worldmarktheclub1@yahoo.com [Errors when replying to ads?]
Seeking a professional Producer Assistant who has skills to assist the Executive Producer communicating with financial and investment contacts.

...in Venice (Italy). This guy does indeed get around and I give him an A+ for persistence, but c'mon, man - call it a day and go...do something else. No chance of you ever finding success in the film biz or elsewhere. I frankly believe this guy is a bit emotionally challenged as its not possible he could think all of these different usernames aren't all him - he uniformly acknowledges this in one post and then refutes it in the next in many. Dude, if you're gonna try to ### people, at the very least you need to keep your story straight!

For the record, this thread plays out nicely for a hollywood movie script - only because, if genuine, is so sensational that its unbelievable. Any writers looking for credits? Mr. Lowther seems ready to cut and paste some for you from the works of others.

Wow! Great story...

This person contacted me Yesterday asking me to call him at [protected]. He did not answer and he immediately call back from a [protected] advising he needs Film producers and reached out to me regarding a up and coming TV network he has in LA. He says he also have a small one studio opening in DC. Its based on all black political issues and he is working on a film entitled "The Black Yankee" have never heard anything about this person before and his name on Linkedin is James Lowther. He was requesting that I come out to LA and he wants me to come work on his TV and film network as a producer.. He kept telling me he wanted me to fly out to LA so he can introduce me to some powerful film people. He says he is connected to Byron Allen the comedian who just purchased the weather channel.. He also advised he is working to have Tonetalks and Yvette Carnell on his network show.. After contacting some of my friends in the entertainment industry I was advised it's a scam.

I emailed him @ theeyankee1776@gmail.com and advised him that I am respectfully declining his offer. Please be careful he's on Linkedin and claims to be creating a film and starting a small TV Network sponsoring Black owned businesses.
