In January 2021 I reached out to Lance Drury law firm after hearing about them on talk radio. Received a phone call from Lance where he asked questions about my account with IRS and stated for $3500 he could help me. When this started I owed the IRS around 15,000 dollars. I paid the retainer. Was told by Lance to stop paying the monthly installment on my bill. (I continued to pay)So after paying him and filling out paperwork and after almost a year of waiting I was told he was able to reduce my bill by 2500 dollars. I was not happy with this since I had paid him 3500 dollars already. I could have kept the 3500 dollars and been that closer to paying the IRS down. My husband filed a complaint with BBB and when Lance was notified he called and ask us to take it down and he would work to get me a better deal. So we removed it. He turned my case over to the Nashville office. I was told then that I make too much money to qualify for
a decrease in taxes. My only solution was to take money from an IRA and pay the bill down to stop a lean on my home. If I had not paid him the 3500 dollars and continued to pay the installments I would be better off. I feel like they were not honest with me upfront and tell me I made too much money and own a home. Now my bill is higher than ever and they have not saved me any money. I feel like they will take your money and promise you anything. I am not pleased with Lance's services at all.
Desired outcome: Stop acting like on the radio you can take the "target off our back". I want a refund of my money since I have not had the target off my back, in fact it is larger than it was before I called.
