I also ordered a Video Professor CD (Excel) and was sent three being told that I had 14 days to send one back if I did not want to be charged. I called and got a return authorization and sent two of them back (because when I called they said I could only keep one if I wanted to not be charged!). They charged me another $189.95 (on top of the original $8.95...

Video Professor Unauthorized Charges

I received a package from Video Professor in March 2010. I did not open it since I had not authorized payment on such a product. I shipped it back (unopened) to VP per their online instructions. I found that 2 or 3 weeks later, my bank account had been charged $399.95! I contacted Video Professor again and was assured that I would be credited for the full amount. When the credit did not happen after 2 months, I tried to contact them again and a recording came on that stated that people should contact their financial institutions for the refund. I contacted my bank and was told because I waited too long and it was not possible to credit my account. So, I was out $399.95!

I originally ordered Video professor to learn QuickBooks using their free CD offer. I kept the CD's and paid the full price but now they have sent me another set of CD's which I did not authorize. I sent them back but they still took money out of my account after I sent them a software request to stop any further shipments of items. I sent them back directly from the post office.

Advertised free cds on how to sell on ebay only pay shipping which was $6.95 if you like it once you tryed it t you can order more I got the package no invoice just package with some cds in it some on ebay some on how to protect yourself on the internet and because of the advertisement and I didnt ask for any other CDs I know it must be what comes with selling on the internet then I recieve a bank statment saying they had charged my account $189.00 a far cry from the 6.95 How dare they in a time when money is so rare do something so underhanded of course it was weeks before I received my bank statement. This additional unauthorized charge caused an overdarft charge of $39.00.

Beware of Video Processor. They advertise a free cd of your choice and that you only have to pay shipping. Well that surely is not true they are scammers and eventually take $193.00 unauthorized I might add. That is the charge for the supposedly free cd which I might add is an old verison of whatever you order. I ordered Excel and version 2002 was sent to me. After that another cd was sent and it was returned immediatly I had not even opened it. The following month I get my credit card statement and see a charge for $193.00. I called and was told that was the price for the free cd. I was livid what you are charging me $193.00 for an old version of Excel that's simply not acceptable. Bottomline don't order anything from VIDEO PROFESSOR cause they will take $193.00 eventually. How else could they stay in business!

Video Professor Scam

On my space they offer products to earn Brownie points for the game to purchase items. I bought the my video product and have received and paid and never got the brownie points of 238. I have complained and I keep sending the email confirmation and everything they ask but still no brownie points. Don't order the offers. The first or second will work but then blank and no brownie points.

I ordered an instructional CD from Video Professor to learn how to operate Quicken software. I never intended to get anything but the instructional video and I don't remember agreeing to pay for anything else. Video professor continuously mailed me new packages for software I had no interest in including Microsoft Word. Really? Who needs help with MW? I finally called to make sure I wasn't being billed and they said I was and that they would not refund me. This is outrageous and totally fraudulent.

I was under distress from losing every thing on my computer. Due to a electriction working on a short. I had my computer off but it still fryed my hard drive and power source. I was given Video Professor at the end of a telephone conversation and was told they had a disk that would recover from a hard drive. I was under the impression I had 30 days to look at the videos that they sent. I was charged 6.95 twice for these disks and thought I had 30 days and figured after I got all my invoices reintered I could deal with trying out the disks.I was never told it would be 189.95 but they took that much out of my account. I have called several times and get nowhere and now I am told it would be 21 days before they will refund me. In this ecomy and with having to allready but a new hard drive an dpower source I sure do not have the money for this. They are no way to deal with them. I had the charges taken off my pyapal account the first time it went through but they sent it through again and this time it got paid and since it is a backup to my checking account it will take the money from there. This is a rip off and I told them I needed the money now and they ar insistint it takes 21 days. Can any thing be done?

Video Professor

Is a real live SCAM, it seems to me the company is making profits from the interest gained by holding the the refund (21-30 days)

About a month ago I ordered a trial offer for Project 2007. I received the program in the mail. But when I tried to load the software it kept freezing my brand new computer. After several attempts I called their tech support, who admitted that the program had been reported to them with a bug or something (they appeared to have known about it already) The tech told me she would call back in 20 minutes with additional info. One week later I called the tech support line again and spent 45 minutes on the phone with no results. I canceled the order for Project 2007 at that time. I was transferred back to customer support and was told that because of all the trouble I had endured they would allow me to try out another program. I reluctantly agree to Access 2007. She issued cancel codes for Project 2007, and said the order for Access was being shipped out that day.
I mailed back the Project and received the new Access software, after about a week with it decided to return the software based on their promotion and policy. I called to get new return codes and the guy in customer support pulled up my account and promptly announced that my account was clear and that I was allowed to keep the disk I had planned to return. I repeatedly asked him to confirm( because I knew I could be charged nearly $400 if it went wrong) He assured me that I owed nothing and my account was clear.
This past week I reviewed my credit card account to discover that Video Professor had deducted the $400 from that account. When I called to complain about this problem they had no answers. The customer support guy pulled up my account and assured me that the account was clear and he didn't see a reason for the charge. He promised to call me back with some answers he never did. I had to call back and was told that it would take anywhere from 21 to 30 day for the refund to be issued. There were no sincere apologies, just an attitude of "that's our policy, deal with it"
This last customer support person promised to call back in one hour...I'm not holding my breath

Some one needs to let public know what John Sherer is up to and how he's running this company

Even after reading the "fine print" they still screw you over because now they have your cc info, and your first answer. And when you try calling its usually a middleman who is uneducated and has no clue what the product even is! I hope you get your money back.

Video Professor No refund as promised

I was told a refund would take 21-30 "BUSINESS" days. I called several times during this period. Every time was the same. It is still in cue to be refunded. The 30 days time is not up yet blah blah blah... So on the 30th day I called and was told it is set to be refuned today. It should post to your account 24-48 hours. NEVER HAPPENED! I called on the 32nd day and oh the "computer program" that performs the credits missed mine! SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE... Now they say it will take an additional 10-15 days because it has to be done manually. I just filed a complaint with the BBB with this informaion. HOW DO THEY HAVE AN "A" RATING WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS? ***EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB!*** This has to be stopped.

Video Professor Billed, no product, no refund

Unfortunately, I didn't read all these complaints about Video Professor before I ordered their product. I am yet another victim of their fraud. I ordered the product online, called them 2 weeks later because the product had not arrived and told them that I wanted to cancel the order. They gave me a return authorization for the product when it does eventually show up. The product never showed up. They billed me anyway. I called again and they said it would take 21 to 30 business days to get the refund back to me. Product still not showed up. Called them again after 30 business days because, just like the product, the refund never showed up either. They said it would take another 10-15 business days to process the request and get me the refund. I'm now calling the Attorney General for the State of Colorado, which is where they operate out of. My advice: Stay far, far away from this company. I can't say anything about the product because I never got it.

I saw the ad on tv. 1st lesson free. Shipping and handling only. Choose the subject that you want to learn. I paid S&H for Video Professor, learning ebay. It will not work on my pc. hmmm... "$10. I too ordered the Video Professor to learn about EBAY and I too received a billing for $189.95. To add insult to injury they also charged me 50 cents for Wounded Warriors, 50 cents for Red Cross, 1 dollar for 1st payment towards Video Professor, and 1 dollar for 2nd payment towards Video Professor.

I urge you to not order from these people.

I saw the commercial for the "free" Ebay lesson with a shipping charge o $6.95 and called. I was not only charged $6.95 for the CD (I did receive) I was also charged $399.95 for what, I do not know. These people should not be allowed to get away with this sort of thing. How can they do this over and over and over again and nothing is ever done about it? They should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. They should be in jail!

I paid shipping and handling 6.00+ for a CD about Ebay and was billed 189.00 today for whatever, I don't know. I called the Card Co to dispute the charge and they are checking it out. It began with somehow getting on googletreasurechest.com and was offered many samples with me paying only the shipping and handling. Four Co's now are billing me a monthly membership fee that I didn't order.

did you try it on a different computer? How old is your computer, and are all the current updates installed? I'm guessing the lessons rely a lot on Flash, so if your flash player isn't updated, it might cause issues.

Video Professor Deceitful/Scam

So I ordered the free trial of VP, but get this. I never even received it! It never came in the mail, and I never even set eyes upon it.

But of course, I got charged $6.95 (twice for some reason) and $189.95 for the CDs. $189.95 for a CD lesson about HTML?! Bill Gates himself would probably come give me an hour lesson for that much money! It’s ridiculous.

But being the idiot that I am, I figured that the product had simply not arrived yet… until I got a VP package in the mail for Identity Protection. Confused by this, I called VP and found out that this is their SECOND shipment. I also found out that this constituted ANOTHER charge of $189.95 on my credit card. $400 dollars for some bs CDs?! Really?

I was able to return the Identity Theft one (refund still pending after 2 months, obviously), but they refused to refund me for the first HTML product which I never received, saying that it was returned outside the 30-day trial period. So now they have my $200 AND they have my HTML CDs sitting in their warehouse (which my $200 supposedly paid for). And….. I have nothing. How does this make sense?

-Jon

Jon,
I'm responding to your post simply to commiserate. I too ordered a CD lesson from VP. It hadn't even arrived wehn I was charged for it. How can I have a trial period when I have no product? So, I called. They said they would refund the amount and extend my trial period and that the product had in fact NOT even been shipped. It was eventually sent and arrived, but when I called to ensure that I knew when my new trial date ended I was told there was no trial date, I was being GIVEN the product to keep, no charge (for my troubles), mind you I had not asked for this, and that my refund was still pending but should arrive within 21-30 business days. Needless to say, it is now over 30 business days and I called only to be told my refund is not being expediated (?) and it will now take 10-15 more business days. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told "there is no one that can make the refund come any faster". My thoughts are that they had no intention of giving the refund unless I called back after the first 30day period. They are counting on people taking that first 30 days to forget they are due a refund. For all I know they have no intention of refunding my money at all, and all this for a product I now have, never even knew if I wanted or not b/c I had not received it, and am now being told is mine to keep. Well, it seems as though it will be mine to keep for the small price of that $189 refund I will probably never see.
This company is set up as a scam, I am convinced. It I ever receive a refund I will repost that they are legit, otherwise for now assume they are crooks.

After a referal from AOL to get a free CD on Windows Vista for a shipping fee of $6.95 I was sent 4 cd and $189.95 was taken out of my checking account. Even though I sent this all back to them it is going to take at least 30 days to get the money back into my account and they have taken more money out of my account for what a shipping fee! I paid the shipping fee!
I am into over $200.00 to this company over the mistake of fast talking legall small print on a web site that make there way of doing business legall? There ought to be a law! And I still had to send the free CD back!

Unbelievable. I ordered the "ebay" free...return if you don't like it yada yada...Now I have 2 charges of 189.xx on my statement and 2 charges of 6.95.

Now the boxes keep coming, and I haven't even opened them. Called them, and they tried to make me feel better by saying that they would remove the 2 6.95 charges and 1 of the 189.xx charges.

My next step is to contact my card holder.

I told the lady that this was misrepresentation. She claimed that the agreement states that I have 10 days to return. When I asked her... "do you have many similar calls to mine in a given day...complaining about unknown charges?" She said "yes...all day!" Well then...you have your answer. You are employed by a snake oil salesman trying to make a living thru deception.

And by the way...the video on ebay was the most poorly production you could imagine. The graphics were terrible, and the information was 3rd grade level. I learned nothing. I thougt it might have some good tips, but it didn't.

The video professor is a fraud.

I returned three software programs as instructed with the return numbers written on each of the software packages. This was done on 6/19/08. I was told they had to be returned before 6/30/08. I call 2 weeks after shipping and was told that the product had been received and I had to wait 15 business days for a credit to be issued to my account. During this call I was told the product was received 6/22/08. I was told that this credit should be issued by the 28th of July. I called again on 7/31/08 and was told by Jeff that I should have already recieved the credit, because it had been approved. He told me he was sending a manual request for refund credit then. He said it would be 3 to 5 business days for the credit to come. As of 8/9/08 no refund has come. This is 6 six business days from 8/1/8.

I ordered a Video Professor product online, and did not understand that I had to return part of the order within a specified time or a charge of $189.00 would be deducted from my account. When the money was taken from my account, I called Video Professor, and they asked me to return the specified product, which I did. They told me that I would get a full refund within 21 to 30 days after they received my returned product. I called after a few weeks, and found that they had received my products, but would not refund my money as it had not been the specified amount of time. I called back in a few more weeks and was told that it still was not the specified time, that it was to be 21 to 30 BUSINESS DAYS. So I asked specifically what day the money would be back in my account and was told that it would be today, December 7th, 2017. I checked my account this morning, it was not returned, so I called Video Professor, and was told that it had not been done automatically, so they would put a "rush" on it, and I will get it in 10 to 15 MOR business days.

They had no problem taking the money from my account, but seem to have a serious problem returning it.

I agreed to an online ad for a CD lesson for 6.95 shipping and handling. I did not read anywhere in the ad the lesson had to be returned in a specific time frame or 189.95 would be billed to my credit card. After contacting the company and dealing with the most rude and arrogant customer service personnel, they offered a refund of the 189.95. I was told it would take 21 days to process the refund. After the 21 days, I called the same nasty customer service reps back and was told they would put me on the fast track refund and it would take another 10-15 days. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THE PRODUCT IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHES OR LIES.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. However, when I called
their customer service center I was told they would e-mail me
a "violation" form (appropriate word) in a few minutes. I was also
told I could find the shipping invoice inside the box that was sent to me. After several e-mails from me to video professor and several
calls to the "customer service center" I was told that the original information that I received from a customer service representative was misleading! I had also asked the original service rep. that I had
not received a shipping invoice in the packages sent to me, which
is a standard business practice. He told me to look in the boxes that
contained the products. I could find no invoice, and when I called
the service center again I was told it was not company policy to
include shipping invoices. (That was after I spoke to one rep
who did not know what a shipping invoice was and I had to ask
for a supervisor who did know what a shipping invoice was).

I informed the service center that there is a law in the State of
Florida which states that any company de-frauding the citizens
of Florida, whether within the state or any other state, could not
do further business in the State of Florida. I also stated that I
felt this might be the case in other states. I am considering asking
the State Attorney General for an immediate Cease & Desist Order
in order to investigate this company.

I am also taking all of the complaints I have taken off of sites like
this one to the local TV and cable stations and asking they do no
further business with this company so as to not become
complicit in misleading and possibly fraudulent business
practices and "preying" on their local customers.

After ordering once before from the "Video Professor" and having received a wonderful and helpful CD, I had no reservations about ordering their "FREE" CD on Excel. I paid my $9.95 for shipping and handling and within 5 days received my CD's. On opening my packet I learned that I had 10 days to "review" the CD's and then my credit card would be charged $298.95. I then called the number provided [protected]) and was told by a young man that was reading all answers that I could return the CD's if I did not wish to pay the $298.95. He then gave me a return number, and said that the add was not misleading. I have gone back to the website that I ordered from and there is nothing on it about $298.95. THIS IS A RIP OFF.

I ordered the $6.95 Ebay Video on to try and see if it would help on a site which I was planning on going to work for (it was a scam too but that's another story). I wrote them a letter, dated February 22 cancelling the remainder within 10 (ten) days . I received another package at the post office, slid the original letter in it and on verifying that I wanted it cancelled. So...what shows up on my March credit card statement, a charge for $399.95! You've got to be kidding me! I contacted the most obnoxious customer service rep I have ever had the pleasure of talking with...her name was Fatima. She ended up hanging up and I ended up calling back talking to a supervisor. They offered me a $200 rebate for nothing.

I immediately called my credit card company and they sent me the forms to fill out. In the meantime on the next credit card account statement, there is another charge for $199.95. I hope they can straighten this out for me or I'm out $606.85 with nothing to show for it

I purchased video professor and was told i would be charged a nominal fee for shipping; i could return the items within ten days and receive a full refund. On the website there was NOTHING about a $189 charge.

The $189 charge appeared within less than 10 days, and get this, it has been over TWO MONTHS since I returned the CD's and I still don't have my money back!

if they can charge within a week, why can't they return my money in less than 8 weeks? How can they get away with this?

I made the mistake of believing the television ad that boasts you can learn how to use your computer more effectively by ordering a teaching cd on the subject of your choice. what they don't tell you is when you order via the website, you automatically receive all the cds and it is your responsibility to return the ones you don't want or you will be charged a
whopping $189.95! Imagine my surprise when I checked my bank balance and saw the debit for $189.95.

Since I was not expecting that charge, I bounced a check also, adding $35.00 to my negative balance.

please do not use Video Professor, do not believe their ads----they are purposely vague with the details of how their business really operates. I have been out of work for 18 months and just recently went back to work. I really could not afford to spend $189.95 on something I will never use and can't sell.

Video Professor Ongoing Fraud

Returned unopened product per their protocol. Telephoned company, stated they received product on July 17, 2009 and that it would be between 21-30 business days for my credit card to be credited $189.95. 30 days from July 17 was Aug 28th, so I called company, told by operator that "technically we have till midnight tonight to credit your account before we start the expediated process but I will go ahead and start it now for you. My supervisor will have to okay the process and we have a heavy call volume (bet they do) and it may take a few minutes..". He went on to explain that the "Expediated" process can take 15-21 business days. After 10 minutes of waiting for supervisor the call was disconnected. I have emailed the company and also went to the "Professor"'s personal website and emailed him through that (do I really think the email will reach him, no, but it made me feel better).
Whereas I am not placing myself above anyone else with the same problem, because I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I am a college graduate who read the "fine print", read the complaints and decided since I had read everything, understood what I was reading and did what they told me too, HOW on earth could I get scammed? Well I did.
BEWARE. You don't have to pay for Video Professor's lessons. If you want to learn the internet, most communities sponsor classes, and if not most computer manufactorer's offer online help. Ebay has a nice tutorial. Kodiak cameras come with CD's showing how to do Digital Photography. With a little online research and time the consumer does not need Scam artists, such as the Video Professor!
Here's hoping that I saved someone else $189.95 and that I get my money back by Christmas!

Video Professor Will not refund my money

I received the eBay lessons. I called on the 10th day to tell them I wanted to return it. That was on a Sunday and they were closed. Called the next day and they told me I should have called Saturday (the 9th day) and they had already charged my Credit Card. I was given a Code Number and the address to send just one of the dvds back to them. I was told at that time it would 20 to 30 business days before crediting my credit card.

Forty days came and went and no refund. I called again and talked to someone named Fioni and she told me she saw where my account showed I had returned the DVD and she didn't know why I had not received my refund. She said she would notify the proper people and it would be 10 to 14 business days before I received my refund. 14 days went by and I called again and talked to some one named Shy. She saw all my previous conversations on her computer and didn't know why I had not received my refund. She said she would notify the proper people and it would be 5 to 10 business days.

It has been 7 days as of todaqy, 14 July 2009.

The Video Professor is a very dishonest company. They advertise falsely and it looks like I will have to use my Legal Services to recapture my money they have stolen.

Video Professor BIG RIPOFF

I, like many others I see, was robbed of $189.95 by Video Professor. About 8 years ago, you did receive "free" CDs and were only charged the postage. This new approach is frightful! On a fixed income, nearly $200 out of one's account is a nightmare. Even the bank rep that I spoke to at my bank had been ripped off by them. The do have awful customer service. I spoke with the customer service rep and the supervisor and they made me so angry. I don't know what we can do, but this business practice needs to stop NOW!

I agree with you Carlotta, they got me as well for the $189.95, and when I talked to the customer service on the phone I got nowhere fast, they first claimed I would get my refund within the company policy of 21 days, after 23 days I called to see why my money isn't on my account, they then said the company policy was it takes up to 21 business days for the money to be released to my account, and at 23 business days, yep you guessed it, when I called, now the company policy is it takes between 21 to 30 business days for the refund to be processed, I now wonder what the excuse is going to be at the end of the 30 business days. I have already reported them to the Colorado BBB and the FTC and working on seeing a lawyer here in my home state of Ga. I am now fed up with them, and tired of the BS and want my money back, I am on unemployment and can't afford nearly a 200 dollar hit on my account, as it is now their tactic over drafted me severely on my bank account. I can't afford to keep on having that money missing.

Video Professor Awful company

I ordered the PowerPoint presentation, and when it came was very unimpressed. It didn't contain any new techniques or that I couldn't get free from Microsoft Help so I decided to take advantage of the 10 day free look and return it. It's not clear when the 10 day free look starts. Is it the day I ordered it, or the day I received it? If it's the day I ordered it, I had 3 days to review and return it. But to return it, I had to contact them and get a return authorization number.

First I called the 800 customer service phone number, and never got anything but recordings says all representatives were 'busy' and that I could leave my phone number and they would return my call. I did so, but after 48 hours, never got a call back, so I used both their alternate options: I FAX'd them the information, and I emailed them the request. Still another 48 hours have passed, and I haven't head anything from them.

I contacted my credit card company, and fortunately they had a solution to the problem, and so far I have successfully prevented them from charging me the $189.95. If they want their shabby product back, they're going to have to contact me. I will return it. But I won't sit by the phone waiting for their call!

Video Professor Unauthorized billing

Saw the ad on tv, ordered the FREE DVD, paid the postage with my debit card. (That was their only action with which I'd authorized them use of my debit card). A week later the box came. I didn't open it. A few days later I noticed my checking account had been robbed of $189.95. I called VP, and explained the situation, received a return authorization number, and returned the box unopened. They informed me it would take 2 months to return my money. I spoke to the supervisor. Same story . . 2 billing cycles. I explained as how the money they stole was budgeted to pay my bills, and would now have to pay late fees. They couldn't care less. I checked with the Better Business Bureau. VPI carries a 'BBB Accredited Business gold star rating', because they 'paid the fee'. I notified the Denver Police Department of the robbery. They said 'nothing we can do. 'A civil matter'. So, I reported the theft to the Colorado State Attorney General's office, Fraud division. They are looking into it. Every department you could possibly report this company to has received so many reports on them that they're immune to it.

Fact is, they know they can steal your money and get away with it. Just don't do business with them.

On 6/20/11 I was inaccurately charged $39.95. The promo said to try Video Professor for five (5) days. On the third day I emailed Video Professor telling them I was not interested in their program because it didn"t meet my needs. (06/20/2011 ONLINE PROFESSOR INC [protected] AZ $39.95)
I just realized that they charged my VISA $39.95 as if I did not meet their criteria or had not responded back to them within five days.
Please refund my charge of $39.95 immediately! I will never use your company again! This is a scam and is an unethical company. Why don't you keep your promise? When you say to try it free for five days, you don't expect to see a charge on your credit card. This is highway robbery!

This is now the 30th business day since I have sent in my refund. Still have not seen my money placed into my checking account. Absolutly ###ed that it takes that long to process giving our money back. You get the same run around every time you call and told the same thing over and over again. They have no right to hold onto other peoples money for their own lack of telling the truth in their advertisments.

I have contacted Video Professor twice to request they stop billing my account of the $189.95. I will be returning all the products sent, request a refund for all monies deducted and file a complaint with the Indiana and California Departments of consumer affairs.

My father died in January and My son, Colin died in May. I am devastated at the loss and didn't even care about balancing my checking account. I did in September and found that Video Professor was deducting
(Stealing!) from my account. I only ordered the cd's for Photoshop, I never checked the box on the order site for the other the whole course. As soon as I put the Photoshop on the page, the order page disappeared. My father
died right after that and I didn't think it.

Then after my son died, i forgot about everything.

I do want to know if you received your refund and if you didn't to make sure you file complaints against Video Professor with your state and California's state Department of Consumer Affairs. You should be able to find those on the web !
