This morning I was forced to go out and make a copy of a work door key. This Ace was closest to my home, so decided to get a key made there. Pleasantly surprised to see plexy glass around the cashier as I walked in the door! But after that, was my nightmare. Lady with her newborn and kids running around isles. No signage up, or taped distance lines by the cashier area, nor does anyone talk about it as you enter or count the number of customers going in and out. The worker who helped me was walking behind me about 6 inches and took the key from my hand. To be honest, I was so shocked at her disregard for the social distancing rule, I didn't say anything, I just wanted to get the hell out of that store. This is all new. This whole situation people are trying to navigate, I get it. I understand controlling customers to follow rules is probably near to impossible, BUT workers should know better. Workers, whether they think this virus is serious or not, should respect and acknowledge that this, for some people, is a HUGE WORRY. I've got a child with asthma and an elderly mother with Lyme Disease. I for one, will never be back to this store anytime soon and love to support community stores, but will be doing so online from here on out. If workers need some sort of training on how to interact with the public they should be getting that.
