I went to the 2nd lower level (the "middle level") for weights after my cardio workout. There was one machine that I typically use (hip adductor) that was not in use. There was a lone towel on the machine (which is a common occurrence, even when people aren't around as crunch does not do a good job at cleaning) and asked around some individuals on other machines. The person in question - ~5'6", wearing an orange neon shirt, slightly accent or lisp - was working out on a different machine. I proceeded to clean the machine with wipes I bring with me from home and started using the machine. The man hovered over me telling me I was monopolizing the machine and wouldn't allow me to finish. He pointed out the he was using 3 machines at once. I asked him why he couldn't use the other machines he was"using" and he said that I was disrupting his workout. I told him he was a very rude person, he said the same back, I got up and left and reported the incident. I felt my life threatened given the level of aggression displayed by this individual. If I did not concede to his demands for giving up the machine, I felt that I could be physically harmed. I am already emotionally and mentally scared from this experience, and even more so given Crunch's pathetic and incompetent handling of the situation. Additionally, there were witnesses - I would like to see the statements Crunch received from this individuals for my records as the gentleman that took in my incident report told me they would speak to witnesses.
I have been a member of Crunch in NY & SF for almost a decade and it is unfortunate to see that Crunch's inability to protect women has cost them a loyal member.
Desired outcome: Refund of the last year worth of membership (since rejoining from Covid) and exiting the perpetrator
