I was hired as a part time employee, during the interview I explained how I had a full time job and I was only looking to work between 15-20 hours a week. I explained how my full time was priority and that the scheduling would be based on what I was scheduled there. The manager, Steven Martinez, said that it would be no problem at all. My first week I was scheduled only for the orientation and cashier training. I had to be out for a medical procedure the following week. The week after I was scheduled 32 hours and though I told him I could only work no more than 20, I agreed to work what he had scheduled me. That weekend I was asked to stay later at my other job which I called and notified them of this ahead of time. They said it was fine. The following week, I began to be sick, which resulted in my going to the doctor. I explained to Steven that my doctor said I needed to cut back on the amount of hours I was working and that overworking my body was affecting me. He said it was and it wouldn't be a problem at all. The following week, I called to find out what days I would be scheduled and he said that he have me the week off to get better, I said ok and we agreed to check back the following week. I called at the beginning of the following week and he said that he needed someone that would dedicate 100% of their time to the company and that he hadn't scheduled because he didn't know that I could dedicate my time. I explained that my full time job was never a secret as I was hired for part time only. He said that he doesn't see a way of working things out anymore and then I asked him what exactly was he saying, was he firing me and he responded yes. I said ok, stunned, and I hung up. How unfair was that?

I just quit my job today after 4 years of loyal service. I devoted 150% of my time to Ulta and never complained. The last few months ago changed with in my store. They literally fired the entire management team including the DM. I thought things would be better for me and in the beginning they were. I was even promised higher wages and to be trained for a manager position but I quickly found out that was a lie. Our new GM literally hired all her friends or past employees she used to work with at her previous positions and gave them more hours than me. They also paid them much higher wages than me. And also gave manager positions to people with no experience other than they were friends with the GM and DM. They also had me training people that basically took my position. I couldn't take the favoritism any longer so I said I'm done with this company and walked out. This company is corrupt and they don't care about they're employees at all. I will never work for them again
He thought he could work around your schedule and he could not... I don't see why you would complain about it, just move on.
