I used the services of the company WMACTL Palo Alto California. I paid for their services in time, but this time the company charged my account for unexpected services, and I have no idea for what they took money. I sent them emails and asked to return money, but the seller started to provide me confirmation emails and copy of bills. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Let’s share views about this company.
I had a similar experience. I left my phone in my truck on a recent trip and had to make two quick calls (less than a minute each) from a pay phone, one in the Seattle airport and one in the Honolulu airport. I got my credit card statement and saw that I was charged $17.54 for one and $14.17 for the other. Ouch! Same company, WMACTL in Palo Alto, CA. I'm going to see if the credit card company will withhold payment but don't know if they will.
I had similar experience at airport. Used credit card because I didn't have my cell, or change for phone. Was charged $68 for three calls, each call less than 2 minutes. This sounds like a total scam. Tried to find address or phone number of WMACTL on Internet, but all I could find were complaints on sites like this. I'm going to try to get the credit card company to stop payment. I feel completely ripped off by this airport pay phone. Seems really dishonest.
This company is a scam, it says $1.00 for 4 minutes. I didn't have 4 quarters so I used visa card, thinking I will be charged a dollar much like vending machines that accept credit card. When I checked my statement $21+ for a call and $23 for another call both calls were less than 4 minutes combined. What a dishonest company, I am tempted to stick gum in the credit card slot everytime I see one just to save others the grief.
Same bad experienc
I just saw a charge for 12.49 on my bank statement for this company. I let my son use my bank card to make a call from a pay phone! What the heck?
i had left my phone on the van that dropped me off at the airport, and I made a phone call at a payphone using my credit card. The call lasted less than 30 seconds. I was never told the amount to be charged to my card, but had to confirm the charge to connect the call. The signage on the payphone indicated that the call would cost $1.00. I was charged $45.82 in two different charges because the first time i called it didn't ring so i tried again not think they were still charging me.
I used my bank card at a pay phone didn't even get to talk to anyone because I got a voice mail so I left one and got charged $16.49 Why would I get charged that much for less than a min call? This is unacceptable and I want my money back minus the $1.00 for the call I made.
Inmate Telecom Services
Just another way that crime doesn't pay.
I made 2 local calls from a payphone in Montreal (one minute each) and was billed $1.15 for each call by WMACTL Calgary. OK I guess - but the biller name was confusing.
