If you haven't done so yet, you mich want to request the dealer where you bought your Camaro check the alignment on your new car. I noticed the front tires beginning to cup out on the outside edges. When I notified the dealer, they said, "Bring it in and we'll check the alignment." My first response was, "Why should a new car need alighnment?" Anyway, the alignment machine showed it was totally outside the perimiters. When I asked the service manager why, he replied, "There is such a demand for these cars that only the 10th one on the assembly line gets a proper alignment."
If that is the case, why isn't each one checked for proper alignment after being off loaded from the truck and staged on the lot for sale? This would save the customer unnecessary wear on the tires, which in the end costs me! Just trying to let everyone know before you are stuck with low milage on a new set of tires. The set on my vehicle are Perilli's and they cost around $400.00 each.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Thanks for the info. I have a 2010 Camaro S.S and the side windows have like tint stripes about every inch or so. I was told by dealer that it was probably in the glass and they couldn't do anything about it. I informed them that this was not acceptable and that they would do something about it. They had told me that another Camaro owner came in with same problem and was told they couldn't do anything about it. I spoke with the mechcanic who advised be to take it up with service manager and was told the same thing. As I told him that I didn't spend this much money to live with stripped windows he advised me that I would have to takew it up with a mechcanic that was on vacation the following week. What can a mechcanic do with defective glass? So in Oct. 11th I am headed back down there with paper and pen in hand to document everything that I am told and I am going to ask them to sign it, but I know they won't At that point I will request to see a factory rep and if the problem is not resoved I plan on getting with other Camaro owners and filing a class action suit against General Motors. While I was there another camaro owner drove up so I suggested to the salesman that we check his windows for stripping and sure enough his windows were stripped too. Check your windows for this problem. I am sure that there are alot of us out there with the same problems. Thanks for the alignment heads up. That will be on my list too for them to check. Right is right and wrong is wrong and I will not stop until this stripped window thing is resolved no matter what I have to do. We as consumers are being taken advantage of. I am sure G.M. is aware of all this problems but not taking appropriate action to rectify any of them. Please notify me if you are having same problems in case we do have to file a class action law suit. deberaha@yahoo.com Thanks for listening!
