They got me! I don't know the particulars of how, but they had been charging my credit card since December (about 8 months) before I caught them. Simple solution (these people know they're shady) ask for higher up and demand your money refunded from your credit card.

I do think this is linked to Intellius because I too signed up for a trial with them prior to this scam.

I have noticed a few months ago that these people were charging my checking a fee of 14.95 for something I don't want neither asked for. I called them and told them to cancel this mess and give me back my money.

I have not joined any company by this name and they agreed to cancel this and refunded my 14.95. Now they have ripped me off for the last five months with out my consent.

People beware!

I have been charged since april for 32.00 a month for a program that I did not sign up for. When I contacted them on 11/26/07 they said they would cancel my membership but they could not credit my account as I have been a member since april. I never gave them my account number as they said I gave it to them. I believe I bought something on line and missed a checked box that copied the number. I would also like to find out what website I was on so I never buy anything from a company that host such business.

I paid a fee to Intellius for information concerning a nephew, two charges after this was made against my acct by this bunch of crooks without my knowledge or permission. I called the bank and obtained a phone number for them and they claimed to represent Intellius and the fee was for "protecting my acct." What a crock!

I have been trying to stop them for charging me for about a year and a half. They were charging 14.95 then 19.95 and now 24.95. Do someone have a number for me?

I, too, have been scammed by Intellius/24 Protect Plus. I used Intellius one time and I think that somehow by not responding to emails from Intellius subsequent to my one time usage they automatically signed me up for this fictictious service, which allowed them to withdraw $19.95 from my checking account for eight months before I noticed.

I contacted 24 Protect Plus and they agreed to only refund me for one month and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, he was rude and unapologetic.

I contacted my bank and they conducted a fraud investigation. Just today, I received an email from 24 Protect Plus advising they will be returning all of my money to me, and well they should. So, push the issue with your bank and you should be able to get the matter resolved to your satisfaction.

Same as everyone else...unauthorized credit card charges. I have submitted a complaint with the FTC. Protect Plus has refunded 2 months worth but I want all of the charges refunded.

They are n's with attitude there. Rude and devious and I was scammed too. Google the following for the pending class action lawsuit:

google AP9*PMIDENTITY.COM-V, the first site that comes up is one for a class action lawsuit against 24 Protect Plus, who are owned by a company named Vertrue. I strongly urge everyone who has been ripped off by this company--Vertrue owns many other sites, including “Simply You, ” “Homeworks Plus, ” “Galleria, ” “24 Assistance, ” “24 Protect Plus, ” “Lifestyle Rewards, ” “Health Plus, ” “Simple Escapes, ” “Passport to Fun, ” “Privacy Plus, ” and “Privacy Matters”--to add their names to the list. If you've been ripped off by any one of these companies, add your name to the list. The web address is:

This operation is similar to WLI who recently settled a class action suit. Maybe they just changed their name.

They got me for $19.95/month for the past 7 months. Only way I found out about it is that I got an e-mail about an increase in member fees. I almost deleted because I thought it was a scam e-mail. It automatically signed me up for the membership when I made a $10 purchase from Intelius.com.

The way these people operate is after the purchase you get a pop up asking if you want to save additional $10. When these kind of things pop up I specifically say no. Regardless they automatically enroll you in it. There is no sign or authorization. There are no -emails telling you of the enrollment either. When I called 24 hour plus to complain they said I agreed to a 30 day trial and didn't cancel at the end of the trial.

This has got to be blatantly illegal. First, a company who you make purchase from shouldn't pass on your credit card information without explicit authorization. Second, there has to be some type of sign up or authorization procedure by the 3rd party.

What really irks me is that companies like this can make hundreds of thousands of dollars for providing no value to people since most enrollees aren't even aware of the membership.
