Associated with using Intellius. Found the charges on my bank statement and then researched back and saw three months of 19.99 charges! I called the 800 number I found on this complaint board 0-thank you ! And waited on hold forever, finally some representative got on and I told her I never authorized the charges.. she credited me the most recent month immediately - then I had to speak to a supervisor (gloria #4789) who quickly refunded the rest - promising it to be refunded in two business days. They must get these all the time because it was handled like they expect it to happen. I am protesting with Intellius as well and notifying the attorney general for Ohio. (where I reside) these people are HORRIBLE!

They charged my card twice without authorization. I called and they refused a refund. I finally got a supervisor after the operator refused to help me get a refund. I was told a refund would be issued. this is a scam. They charge and make it time consuming and difficult to cancel. They also try to get you to pay one charge for a one year membership (to what I do not know). They should be shut down or someone file a class action against them.

Never signed up for 24PtorectPlus they say I clicked something when I used People Find. Cal, I.D. #26051, you should find an honest way to make a living you f****ing bast**d. It will be a lot easier on you if you refund ALL MY HONESTLY GAINED MONEY instead of just a portion. I am going to pursue this until I get it all back. You will remember me 24 ProtectPlus you low live ###.

24ProtecPlus is a membership program manged by Adaptice Marketing LLC, a subsidiary of Vertrue Inc. Vertrue specializes in negative option marketing in which internet buys are deceived into agreeing to a membership program during the check-out process. I was stung the same way when I used People-Finders from Intelius; Intelius has partnered with Adaptive Marketing, and they realize a kick-back on each of the memberships sold.

Vertrue has been sued by the AG's of at least six states for deceptive marketing practices. It typically agrees to reform and then goes on the same way as before. Vertrue and Adaptive Marketing both tend to flood the Internet with releases announcing how eco-conscious and employee-friendy they are, and how good their memberships programs are. This is just smoke, since the Internet is rife with complaints about these companies.

Trilegiant (formerly CUC) and WebLoyalty are also players in this business although Vertrue has been attracting the most attention these days.

Banks are complicit in this racket. For instance, there is currently a class-action suit against Wachovia for facilitating fraudulent transations from Vertrue in spite of internal memos from its own executives warning about the fraud.

24PROTECTPLUS IS A MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM MANAGED BY ADAPTIVE MARKETING, WHICH IS OWNED BY VERTRUE INC. VERTRUE SPECIALIZES IN NEGATIVE OPTION MARKETING IN WHICH AN INTERNET PURCHASER IS DECEIVED INTO SIGNING UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM DURING THE CHECK-OUT PROCESS. CONSUMERS OFTEN DON'T REALIZE THIS UNTIL THEY START GETTING MONTHLY CHARGES OF $14.95, $19.95, AND SO FORTH.

VERTRUE HAS BEEN SUED BY THE AG'S OF AT LEAST SIX STATES FOR DECEPTIVE MARKETING PRACTICES. IF YOU SEARCH ON 24PROTECTPLUS, BUSINESSMAX, OR OTHER ADAPTIVE MARKETING PLANS, YOU WILL FIND THAT THE INTERNET IS RIFE WITH CONDEMNATIONS FROM ANGRY CONSUMERS.

YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD INFORMATION WAS PROBABLY FORWARDED TO ADAPTIVE MARKETING BY A COMPANY LIKE INTELIUS (PEOPLE-FINDERS). THESE PARTNERSHIP COMPANIES GET A KICKBACK ON THE MEMBERSHIPS THAT THEY CREATE.

THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS (1) CALL THE BANK AND IMMEDIATELY REPORT A FRAUDULENT CHARGE, (2) CALL THE 24PROTECTPLUS NUMBER, CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP AND DEMAND A REFUND, AND (3) CALL INTELIUS (OR WHOMEVER THE VENDOR IS), ALSO TO CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP AND DEMAND A REFUND. THE SOONER, THE BETTER. THE MORE YOU WAIT, THE LESS YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING ANYTHING BACK.

BANKS LIKE WACHOVIA ARE WELL-AWARE OF THE FRAUD BUT HAVE NOT ACTED TO STOP IT IN SPITE OF INTERNAL MEMOS FROM EXECUTIVES. WACHOVIA PRESENTLY FACES A CLASS-ACTION SUIT FOR ITS NEGLIGENCE.

I found a charge for $34.95 on my Amex for 24ProtectPlus. The charge was completely unauthorized. I have no idea how or when the got my credit card number or how many times I've been charged. (I find out on Monday)I called and they said they would "cancell my account".
This is blantant and glaring fraud. I believe the company is set up for this function. I would be happy to participate in a class action suit.

I continue to receive fraudulent charges to my AMEX. 6/19 $27.46; 7/20 $27.46; 8/17 $46.04 and 8/21 $27.04. AMEX removes the charges but I can not find any information on this company to cancel or dispute directly with them.

I was charged numerous times $19.99 and $39.99 for services I did not want or need. I actually am not sure what they do there. I did call customer services and demand these charges be reversed and reimburse my credit card. They said they would, however they advised me that I "should read the fine print in the future" I believe I was being charged these unauthorized, illegal fee's for some time without my knowledge. I did file a formal complaint with the BBB of NE.

For the past month, I have noticed that 24PROTECTPLUS has been charging my credit card two times in the same month. I never authorized these transactions, and this company is causing my credit card to be maxed out so I cannot use it, and I have had to pay over the limit fees because of it. I cannot afford to have this continue.
