I was seen over 2 weeks ago for severe chest pain when breathing, and severe pain down my right shoulder and neck. They ruled out a heart attack in triage at about 6 PM. After that I was brought back to a room with a resident doctor and here preceptor that came in later. I was vomiting for the amount of pain I was in. I had never had anything like this before. I was in the hospital until after 2AM and was told that everything look fine and was told to go home and take ibuprofen. I followed up with a cardiologist that my PCP recommended 2 days later after not being able to sleep, eat, or breath comfortably. The cardiologist told me not to go to this hospital again and said she made the easiest diagnosis a dr could make (pericarditis) and started me on proper medication right away. the next day, my pain was relieved. I wish people took more care of the patients coming in and tried to find a diagnosis and medication regimen. I am an otherwise healthy 41 y/o woman. I am a mental health professional and see the pain others go through with our health care system. I was sent an extremely hefty bill and nothing to help me. This is ridiculous and we need to do better. I will be disputing this bill and plan to take this higher up with Abrazo. Sincerely Kim
Desired outcome: I will not be paying this bill as I was not treated or helped.
