Hello. This has been going on for 3 years with a company who came in and resurfaced my driveway. After my block party everyone sunked into my driveway they came back and sealed it. The next year everyone sunk in again. Affatato Paving came back and resurfaced again. It was a horrible job, then I had water leaking into my garage, dips and holes all over my driveway, a nail stinking out of it. I got 3 professional opinions who all said the driveway needed to be ripped out. Jeff from Affatato promised to do this. When we called him back to do this he said forget it call the better busniess bureau and bring us to court which we did. We went January 8, 2009 he promised to have my new driveway completed by April 30, 2009 if not he would pay us $5, 000 plus interest. I called numerous times in March they finally came ripped out my driveway. Then I called numerous times in April spoke with secretary and Cheryl. They new my voice and would say we will call you back to schedule I begged I was having my sons first birthday party at my house with 75 guests and needed this done. It was never completed I had to call 3 other companies to come give me estimates and had my driveway redone paying $1, 400 out of my own pocket again. I had this done a few days before his party of 5/16. We went back to court 5/21 and they never showed they said I won. I thought finally I went to court filed papers went to sheriff dept filed transcript. Then get another letter from sheriff dept that they got an attorney and filed an order to show cause. Now these people are lying saying they tried to call me, the weather was bad, Jeff had hip surgery every excuse possible but to pay me my money. Now they new I was so desperate to get my driveway done why would I go and get someone else to do it and pay $1, 400 its so crazy and absurd. I want my money and these people to stop taking advantage of people like me its not fair. PLEASE help us thanks tina zarcone [protected]
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
This comes to no suprise for me. I live in This community and in the defense of Affatato Paving I have seen the work done and I have also had work done from them. Tina and her husband also find fault in any work done in or around there home, Tina especially complains even if the work is perfect. I have spoke to everyone in the office and they have been nothing but super nice and very helpful to me when I had my driveway done, Also because of the wonderful job they have done I have called this year to have the sealcoat done on my driveway and requested Jeff and they had told me that Jeff would not be back for 8 months due to a hip replacement. I honestly don't think it is an excuse for a company to lose a customer. It's just one more thing for Tina to complain about. I have learned that you can not make everyone in the world happy!
I believe Tin's complaint. It seems reasonable and since I know the work of Affatato, I'm sure that her complaint is valid. She went to court to seek relief and won a judgment. The fact that Jeff was out is immaterial, Does the business close down for 8 months because he is away? If so, I hope he is getting paid A LOT of money, because he must be the only one working there.
The comment by "quirk" however is an obvious plant by Affatato. He implies that he is a customer and had work done by Affatato, however he defames Tina and her husband by saying that they are never happy with work. How would quirk know this? Also, who requests a particular person (Jeff) to seal coat their driveway? Jeff is a salesman and does not do the driveway - he only sells the job. It is obvious that quirks comment is bogus,
S AFFATATO PAVING IS A SCAM! DONT HIRE THESE UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT PEOPLE. WE ARE TAKING THEM TO COURT ALSO. I WILL POST THE RESULTS ON AS SOON AS WE GET OUR JUDGEMENT. I CANT WAIT TO OWN ONE OF THOSE HIDEOUS TRUCKS..
I called Affatato for a quote on my new driveway (I also called two other pavers) and they were the only one who responded. When the "part owner" came to see my husband --he was prepared and professional. He then came back to finalize the deal with me and was very responsive and their rates were reasonable. We hired them. They were a little late on finishing the project and while digging up the driveway they broke the cement on my walkway. Really not a big deal. When they came to put down the pavers (border) they tried to repair the broken cement (walkway) and did a "not so good job". The part owner came back and saw it and promised it would be fixed. After they put down the pavers the "part owner" said he would have my driveway finished in one and a half weeks. After two weeks and two days I called the office to find out when they were coming back. The "part owner" called my husband and promised they would be in my home the next morning to finish up the job and offered him a $50.00 discount for being late. Not a big deal since the job was $2745.00 paid in cash. Now 1 month has passed and they never came back to fix my walkway, they "part owner" never called me back after leaving 5 messages, and the girls in the office (who are absolutely useless) say my account has a balance of 50.00. I have every receipt and no where does it say I owe them 50.00 or that there is a balance due of any dollar amount. Also, before they finished the driveway I called the "part owner" and told him I would like to hold be about 100.00 because they didnt finish fixing what they broke on my walkway. He said - and I quote "I cannot do that because I have to pay my guys, and for the materials" -- I owned them the last payment of 850.00 because he deducted $50.00 for being late. I paid it in full in cash.
I have to say "I love my driveway" -- everyday that I pull up to my house -- I love my driveway, but anyone could have done that job if I was patient enough for someone else to call me back. I think it is disgusting to screw your customer for 50.00 when you broke their walkway. I would never recommend them to do any work to anyone, and if you are looking for a paver...CALL SOMEONE ELSE. The "part owner" is a sheep in wolves clothing so be very careful.
I am so glad that you documented the complaints against Affatato Paving. I live in Ridge, New York (Suffolk County) and just saw their company's sign at a home in my neighborhood. It looked like the driveway was being repaved. I was thinking of contacting them to do some cement work in my backyard and possibly the driveway. After reading the complaints against them, they are the last company I would hire.
I have to agree, be careful a know what you are getting yourself into. You will be at the mercy of their schedule. My job has been rescheduled or delayed numerous times. Every time I am given and excuse that it was out of their control. "The truck broke down" "It's too cold out" "Sorry they ran late on the other job" "Sorry, bad load of asphalt'. Just know you are going to get the run around and will have to be patient and accommodating to them, even though you are the customer and paying them. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. I would pay a couple $100 more and deal with a company that's not going to run me around all the time.
AFFATATO PAVING,
came to my house and did an excellent job very quick neat and efficient job. I was very pleased with the fact the office called several times to schedule the job due to some days are not possible to do because of weather I would highly recommend AFFATATO PAVING again to anyone I know
Sincerely Lawrence G Beierle
I got several driveway and mason quotes before going with Affatato Paving because I found their estimate was very fair for the amount of work I was having done. I was having my driveway and apron ripped out and asphalt paving lined with belgium blocks. I was also having an asphalt walkway ripped up and replaced with pavers. Additionally I was having a cement front porch ripped up and replaced by a new porch of all pavers. Before I gave them the go ahead that I was accepting their estimate for the job I decided to read reviews first of all 3 of the paving companies I received estimates from. All 3 had some sort of complaint or another by an unhappy consumer. After reading this initial complaint above from this Tina Zarcone lady, I was afraid to proceed with Affatato Paving and had reservations so I called them up and expressed my concerns about this review and the subsequent posts below it and that I was hesitant on going with them. Jeff, the salesman who I had initially met who outlined my whole project and gave me the estimate, called me back immediately and I was very honest with him about my reservations. Without me mentioning any names, he knew exactly who's review I had read and assured me that he would be involved at every phase of the process from rip up and base installation, paver installation and finally laying the asphalt down. So I decided to proceed. There was no lack of communication with the office whenever I had a question about something. Each phase of the project went as they said it would. They came every time they were supposed to. We did have a few rescheduling delays because each day we rescheduled, it rained and had to be rescheduled again. Each rescheduling delay was only a few days put off. You can't help mother nature. The end result: My pavers are gorgeous, my new walkway and front porch are beautiful. My driveway is awesome and I have gotten so many compliments from strolling neighbors and family/friends. I love it all and would recommend highly. If you have reservations as I did, come look for yourself and you decide.

Afatato put in a new 2 car driveway about 8 or 9 years ago and cracked over this winter. We called them and Jeff came out and looked at it and told us that they would take care off it and they gave a very good price my wife thought was very good. The people that complained about Jeff should here what happend to him, he is very happy to be alive after the very bad car crash with another car. He was out of work i would guess about at least almost a year. That may not exsuse the company but people should not be quick to judge. HAPPY GEORGE
